You may expect all of this, but you would be wrong.

This is not a story of laughter, it is one of woe.

This is not a narrative of lessons learned, it is one of failure.

And this is most certainly not a tale of extraordinary heroic feats but one of torment and pain and shallowness and blood.

This is the story of how vampirism came to Equestria and I can tell you now, ensnared reader, that there will be plenty of death.
