Fall Of The Elements

Sweetie was still cradling her sister’s body by the time the medics came and picked up Rarity Belle from the wreckage of the Carousel Boutique. It had been roughly two hours since the fashionista had lost in a fight with a dark duelist and had paid the price, her own soul taken from her, and now she was stuck in a vegetative state and there was no sign she would ever wake up from it. As Rarity laid in her hospital bed with Sweetie by her side, the Mane 4, Deck Dealer, and only one member of the CMC was at the Library wondering what their plan is next.

“Twilight, I think you should calm down.” Fluttershy said in a soothing voice to the enraged Alicorn.

“HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?! MY FRIEND IS IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT THE HOSPITAL AND WE CAN’T FIND WHO DID IT! SO HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?!” She roared making the Pegasus jump back.

“Your majesty-” Deck Dealer started “You need to calm yourself. We will find who did this in time. But getting angry will only delay our search. Besides, Princess Celestia is on her way shortly.” He finished. Twilight smirred down a little but tears were still crawling through her eyes and falling to the ground.

“I just…. how do we handle this? It’s not like the other villains and monsters we fought. Rarity is worse than dead and that nag mentioned that she already beat Rainbow so…. the Elements are completely useless.” Twilight said as she started to finally let loose a torrent of tears and fell to the floor. Spike quickly grabbed a box of tissues and ran to her side. Twilight grabbed a few tissues and wiped her face clean of the tears.

“T-Thank you Spike.” She said weakly as she smiled.

“No problem. Also, I think you might need to see what I found this morning.” Spike said as he headed over to his bed. She followed him over and watched as he reached through his sheets.

“Now where did I… no it’s not there… HA! Found it!” He screamed as he pulled out what seemed to be a Duel Monsters card.

“A card?” She asked.

“Yeah. But none like I’ve ever seen.” He replied as he passed the card over to her. As soon as she took it, she noticed the drawing. A majestic Dragon whose scales shined a bright gold. A blue orb sat in the middle of its head as it roared in the image. She then noticed the writing on the card and started to read it.

You can pay 1000 Life Points to select and destroy 1 monster on the field.

“So Twilight, can I keep it?” He asked her with a smile on his face. It took a minute, but she gave him his answer.

“Sure Spike. It can make a great addition to your deck.” She said as she passed the card back to him making him smile. He put the card into his deck holder and soon felt a familiar tingle in his gut.

“Oh Celestia not agai-BURRRRPPPP!!!” Spike belched out a scroll with a royal seal on it and it fell to the ground. But something was…. off about the seal on the scroll. It wasn’t the symbol of Celestia, Luna, or even Cadence for that matter. The symbol was merely a lare ‘S’ with spikes going down the length of it as though they were spines. Twilight picked the scroll up and opened it, making the symbol turn into smoke. She then began to read it.

“Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle, By now you will have noticed that two of your precious elements have fallen. Don’t despair as they will be joined by your other friends soon enough. If you surrender now though I may give them back but if you resist I promise you that they will suffer as I have suffered under my curse..” The note had no signature on it so it was unknowable as to who sent it but Twilight got the general idea. She tried to find another way out but there was no other way. It was time to call in an old enemy.

“Spike…. as much as I hate saying this. Please write and send a note to Griffonia. We need Gilda.” Twilight said with loathing in her voice. He simply nodded as he grabbed an empty note and a feather that was dipped in ink.

“Dear Gilda, as much as I regret saying this, we need you here in Ponyville. Something evil is about to happen and we need you by our side. So please head here posthaste. Signed, Princess Twilight Sparkle.” She said as Spike wrote her words on the letter. Soon as he was done, he breathed a stream of green flames, sending the letter to Griffonia. They waited several hours and Twilight had nearly finished reading every book in her library when Gilda’s response came back. Spike belched out a fancy looking scroll and Twilight opened it.

“Dear Princess Twilight Doofus, K. Signed Gilda.” The letter said making Twilight groan.

“At least she’s on our side. But now we’ve still got a problem. Who sent that scroll?” She asked. But before an answer was sent out, the door of the Library was being knocked on.

“I’ll get it.” Deck said as he walked over to the door. As he opened it, he noticed white, majestic wings. “P-Princess Celestia!” Deck stammered and sure enough the princess of the sun strolled into the room. The rest of the beings in the room bowed but only one among them did so and mentally gagged.

Why did the master stick me with these mares? Sure send your favorite pet to deal with them but not your best duelist. The mare thought to herself.

“Twilight Sparkle, I’ve received news about Rarity and Rainbow Dash. Are you alright?” She asked her student.

“I’m.. fine now. But I’m still wondering who would do this.” She replied making the princess give her a sad look.

“Twilight, I think I know.” Celestia said making Twilight’s ears perk upwards.

“Really?! Who?!” She asked as she jumped up.

“His name is Sombra Nightshade. He was my former dueling student before…. and he was my lover.” Celestia said trying to hold back the tears welling up in her eyes. “Sombra was an excellent duelist, one of the best, and he even could talk to the spirits of the creatures inside the cards as well. He formed a bond with one card in particular.”

“Which card?” Twilight asked.

“It was a powerful monster called the Red Eyes Black Dragon.” She replied making Twilight freeze like ice.

“Twilight, what’s wrong?” She asked. No answer came from the Alicorn.

“Twilight? Hello? Twilight?” Deck asked to her as he waved his hand in front of her face.

“R-Rainbow. She found that card last year.” She said making Celestia’s eyes widen in surprise.

“Then we should retrieve it from-”

“S-she’s dead though. The pony who dueled Rarity already beat us to her. I-it’s my fault. I-I told her to keep it a-a-and it g-got her ki-killed.” Twilight sobbed as she hugged her teacher and sobbed into her pure white coat. Celestia sighed in sadness as she hugged her student. As they let go though there was another knock on the door. Spike opened it and it revealed a familiar Griffon.

“Gilda. About-” He started until Gilda shoved him out of the way. She walked up to the two princesses and asked this question.

“So… what’s the problem?”

In the Arctic North, the frozen temple was now all in what seemed a throne room. Sitting on a dark, crystal throne, was the upper half of a Unicorn skeleton who had glowing green eyes. Sitting on its back was a red cape and on its head was a crown of dragon fangs.

Yesssss. My powerssss are ssssslowly returning. Wicked Wingssss! The skeleton yelled as he slammed a crystal scepter into the frozen floor, making a dinging sound and collecting the attention of a young mare.

“Yes my lord?” She asked as she bowed.

I have an asssssignment for you. You will head to the Crysssstal Empire and collect two certain ssssssoulssssss. It replied.

“And which souls are they my liege?” She asked again.

The ssssssoulsssss of Prince Sssssshining Armor and Princesssss Cadence. Do not fail me. The skeleton said angrily as its claws clung onto the throne’s arm, making a screeching noise. The young mare nodded and left immediately. Just as she closed the door behind her another cloaked mare walked in behind the throne.

“My liege.” The mare said as she bowed.

You know it issss unwissse to sssneak up on me Triasssic Terror. The skeleton hissed. The mare nodded.

“Forgive the intrusion my lord but I was wondering. When do I get to duel Twilight Sparkle?” She asked him making the bones rattle in a sick version of laughter.

In due time my apprentice. Now I need-AARRRGGHH! The skeleton roared as it felt a familiar pain inside of it’s head.

“MY KING!” The mare shouted as she rushed forward and also gripped her head in pain and then two voices rang out in both their heads.

YOU MOTHER BUCKERS! A deep voice roared.

YOU WILL NOT HARM HER! A tomboyish voice hissed. Soon after a second, the pain in their heads were gone and they stood up. Well... the skeleton used his arms and climbed onto the throne and sat back down.

Now my great duelisssst. Head for the city of Canterlot. Luna’sssss sssssoul will be a great addition to my body. He said with a crooked smile. The mare simply nodded and bowed before walking out of the room.

Somewhere not in Equestria or even Equis, in a place called Domino City, five friends were sitting at a table and enjoying the sun as they talked with one another. One of them had a strange object around his neck that looked like an upside down pyramid and that wasn’t the weirdest thing. His hair took the prize. This is Yugi Moto. The famous King Of Games.

“So Yug’, what’s today’s schedule?” His friend and fellow duelist, Joey Wheeler asked.

“I don’t know. I really don’t have a lot to do today.” Yugi replied.

“Maybe we can go see a movie?” His friend Tristan Taylor suggested.

“But there isn’t anything interesting at the theater today.” Tea Gardner said.

“Maybe we can go check on Duke. He’s been really busy with Dungeon Dice Monsters lately.” Their unique friend Bakura said. It had been a few weeks since they had their last adventure, a mad man named Dartz tried to resurrect the lost city of atlantis and rule the world. Yugi and his ally, a spirit simply referred to as The Pharaoh, eventually defeated him and sealed away his demonic army. Now a days they simply lounge around and had hung out whenever they could.

“Well well, if it isn’t Yugi and his gang of misfits.” A familiar voice said.

“Oh great. If it ain’t Rich Boy.” Joey said angrily as he stared at his enemy and Duel Monsters rival, Seto Kaiba.

“Can it Wheeler. I’m here for Yugi.” Kaiba said making Joey growl.

“If it’s a rematch you’re wanting, I’m not going to challenge you.” Yugi said.

“You will Yugi. Otherwise I’ll force you to.” Kaiba said angrily. But before Yugi could say anything, the sky above them suddenly started to darken.

“Ey, who turned out the sun?” Joey asked as he looked into the sky. Suddenly The whole group felt weightless and started to float, Joey getting hit by a chair, and were soon sucked through a strange portal. As they flew through the vortex, Yugi noticed a familiar face flying next to him.

“P-Pharaoh?” Yugi said in astonishment. The Pharaoh looked every bit like Yugi except that he was taller, and he wasn’t having difficulty flying through the portal.

“Yugi, what’s going on?” He asked him seeing the strange vortex and Joey getting hit by a table and yet another chair.

“I don’t know. But I have a feeling we’ll soon find out!” He replied. Yugi didn’t know where he was going, but he felt as if he was going to be ready for anything.
