Po-Ni-Oh!: The Wicked Duels

Today was a nightmare for Applebloom. For she had just witnessed the most horrible thing that her eyes will ever see again. Her lifelong friend, Scootaloo, had gained something. Flight. Of course she always wanted it, but she gained it with Draconic wings and a dark power. The little filly was then escorted out by a unicorn mare, Trixie to be exact, to some dark covenant based around some Dark Dragon.

“A-Applebloom…. what do we do?” Sweetie asked her friend.

“Ah don’t know. Ah think we need ta tell Applejack and the others.” She replied. They were about to leave when they remembered who else was with them.

“A-Applebloom…. me and Diamond are really sorry about what we called Scootaloo, really and we want to help you.” She heard Silver say.

“Deck, should we let them help?” Sweetie asked the elder. It took a minute, but the stallion gave off his answer.

“If they really want to help, then let them.” He replied.

“Alright. Let’s go!” Applebloom said as she ran out of the schoolhouse with the other fillies. Deck Dealer though, he sort of lagged behind.

“HEY! WAIT FOR ME!”

Meanwhile in a frozen temple in the Crystal Empire, four mares were congregating around a pitch black pool filled with a dark, bubbling substance.

“My lord, Trixie has brought you a new follower.” One of the mares said into the pool.

Who is the new one? The deep voice asked. Before the mare could reply, the room’s door opened and in came Trixie and a small, Pegasus filly.

“Master, meet your new follower.” Trixie said as she pushed the filly towards the pool.

“Who are you girls talking to-”

Hello young one. The voice from the pit said to Scootaloo. The young mare backed away from the pit really quickly and nearly tripped over herself.

“W-What the-” She stuttered.

Do not fear me young one. For I am the one who leads the Dark Dragon. The voice quickly said.

“Y-You’re the leader?” She asked.

Not the liquid. But what will be rebuilt. With your help, I can be reborn. The voice replied. The young filly then walked up to one of the mares and almost tugged her hood down.

“Please do not. I would not reveal myself if you do not mind.” The mare said as she stepped back. Scootaloo nodded to acknowledge she heard the mare. The mare then pulled the hood closer to her head and it was covered once more. Scootaloo then walked up to the pool again and asked what was on her mind.

“What’s my first task Master?” She asked.

YOU DON’T GET TO DEMAND FROM ME CHILD! I WILL TELL YOU WHEN YOUR FIRST TASK YOU INSOLENT MARE! The voice shouted at her.

“Alright! I’m sorry.” She said.

Excellent. Now, you will head to Las Pegasus. Duel as many foals as you can and deliver their souls to me. Is that understood? The voice asked.

“Yes. I will leave immediately.” She replied. She was then aware of the mare whose hood she nearly pulled down earlier walked up and bend down on one knee. It was clear she was the leader of this group.

“Master.” She said as the ooze started bubbling faster.

As for you my Triassic Terror. You will head to Ponyville and gather the souls from the townsponies and one of the Elements. Understood? The voice asked the mare.

“Yes my master.” She replied before leaving the room.

Back in Ponyville, more specifically the Golden Oaks Library, four fillies and one old stallion came knocking on the door to the home of Twilight Sparkle. The door then opened revealing a purple Alicorn.

“Oh Deck. What a-”

“Twilight. It’s an emergency. I need to speak with you and the others.” Deck interrupted. Twilight looked at him stunned and asked Spike to take a letter.

Dear Princess Celestia,

Deck Dealer appeared at the Library. He states it’s an emergency and I think you should be here.

The young Dragon, using his magical flame, disintegrated the letter. The ashes from the letter then flew out the window and towards the castle in Canterlot and, more importantly, Princess Celestia herself. She then sent out several letters to each of her friends so that they would arrive to talk about what was troubling Deck and the girls. A few minutes later, everypony but Rainbow Dash and Rarity came to the Library and surrounded the old stallion and the fillies.

“Now Deck, what in tarnation is wrong?” Applejack asked.

“It’s about Scootaloo. She’s…. well… Applebloom, mind explaining what you saw?” He asked the young filly.

“Well, when me, Sweetie, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon were duelin’, a weird voice came out, spoke to us and tried to turn us into some sort of ‘dark duelist’ or somethin’. When Ah declined, he showed me Scootaloo in her room. A hooded figure came up to her, and turned her… evil.” She explained making the mares gasp. But the filly wasn’t done yet. “Then Scootaloo actually grew a pair of huge flyin’ wings and the mare…. the mare was Trixie!” She finished this and saw a look of confusion on Twilight’s face.

“Applebloom…. that’s impossible. You couldn’t have seen Trixie.” She stated.

“B-But Ah did. Ah swear.” Applebloom said back. Before anything could be said, a massive explosion was heard.

“What the-” Twilight started.

“Sounds like it’s near the boutique. RARITY!!” Sweetie Belle shouted as she ran towards the burning building in the distance. Then quickly everypony followed the filly including Spike the Dragon.

The boutique seemed to look like a warzone. Monsters were blasting each other and the flames coming from some of them looked disturbingly life like. But what had everypony worried, though, was the bright green symbol on the ground that surrounded Rarity and her mystery opponent. On her field was a humanoid being wearing armor that shined almost like a freshly polished amber that held daggers made of pure energy. On her opponent’s field was a reptilian monster that stood on two legs, had long arms with sharp claws, and a mouth full of razor-like fangs.

“Face it Rarity Belle, my monsters will defeat you. It’s only a matter of time.” Her opponent said in a deep calm voice. Rarity only breathed heavy as she drew another card from her deck. She looked at it and only sighed in disappointment.

“I activate the spell card Swords Of Revealing Light!” she shouted as she played the card and several swords appeared in front of the giant lizard.

“THAT WILL ONLY DELAY YOUR DEMISE!” The opponent yelled as it drew a card. “I activate Jurassic World!”

Then suddenly, the whole area changed like as if time went in reverse. Ponyville looked like a prehistoric jungle with large, tropical plants, small animals scurrying around, and massive Dinosaurs walking and grazing.

“I then before I end my turn, I activate the trap Volcanic Eruption!”

Immediately the volcano in the background erupted and several fireballs were flung towards the field and did just as the card said it would do. They destroyed every card on the field, including the strange mare’s own monster, and then it all became normal again.

“Nice move. If you wanted me to win!” Rarity said as she drew. “I summon to the field my Gem-Knight Iolite!” She said placed a monster down.

Onto the field appeared a humanoid creature wearing a light blue and silver armor. The creature also had a gun on it’s right wrist that it showed off to the mare on the opposite end of the field. Rarity smirked as she saw her exposed opponent.

“Now Iolite, attack the enemy! Iolite Blast!” She ordered. The knight raised his wrist as it charged up and fired a blast of blue energy that struck the opponent in the chest.

“I end my turn.” She said as her enemy drew its card.

“I now activate the card that will end you. I activate…. BIG EVOLUTION PILL!” The opponent said.

A large thunderstorm brewed up automatically and then a mighty roar was heard. Out of the ground came a large green Dinosaur with metallic implants all over most of it’s body and a sort of metal crown on it’s head. The beast let loose another loud roar as it crackled with electricity.

Rarity couldn’t believe the size of this mighty beast.

“Now my magnificent beast, destroy her knight and end this duel! Seismic Stomp!” The pony shouted at it’s beast. The Dinosaur lifted up one of it’s gigantic feet and brought it down to the field which split into two halves and closed on the Gem-Knight, who was soon crushed soon after.

The pony laughed as Rarity collapsed to the ground, making dirt fly.

“Now Rarity Belle, since I am the victor, I shall claim my prize.” The pony said.

“A-And what might that be?” She asked as she held her ribs. The pony leaned up to her ear and whispered in it.

“Your soul.” As soon as the words left the pony said this though some chains erupted from the ground and wrapped themselves around Rarity and then pulled, not her physical body, but her very spirit down into the seal itself. When the last bit of her soul disappeared into the ground Rarity slumped into the ground with a blank look on her face. “Well that was easier than I thought. Much easier than that annoying rainbow tailed nuisance.” The pony said as she started to walk away. As she left, Sweetie and the others turned the corner to see Rarity on the ground. They gasped and Sweetie ran up to her sister.

“R-Rarity. Rarity please get up.” Sweetie started as she rubbed her shoulder. But to her surprise, Rarity did not get up. “Rarity, this isn’t funny. Please get up.” She said again as tears fell from her eyes. The pale white filly then proceeded to beat on her sister’s chest. “RARITY! RARITY PLEASE! PLEASE WAKE UP! RARITY!” She shouted to the high heavens. Twilight came over and looked at her friend’s body, noticing no life in her at all.

“N-No. She’s g-gone.”

Back at the frozen north, in the temple of ice, the oozing pit started to bubble. Then appearing out of it was a skull. A unicorn skull with a curved horn, and teeth like a Dragon’s.

Yessss. A voice said as the skull’s jaws moved with the voice.
