Blake woke up the next day with a severe headache. He couldn't recall any alcoholic drinks being served though. He rose from his bed and proceeded to his door, tempted to have a stroll around Ponyville. Although by the time he reached his door, somepony was already knocking.
"Blake you in there?" Asked a voice which sounded like Twilight. More knocking could be heard.
"I'm coming," replied Blake. Blake opened his door. "What's up?"
"Well I was wondering that now that you've settled in Ponyville, I could interview you for research," replied Twilight.
"Well I was about to go outside for a stroll but sure," said Blake. Blake invited Twilight in his home. They sat around the living room.
"Ask away," said Blake. Twilight nodded in response.
"Okay so first, what is the name of the place you live in?" Asked Twilight.
"Well I live in New York. The country is called the United States of America."
"How old are you?"
"17."
"Does your world use any magic or do they fly?"
"No, but our technological innovations make up for that."
"What kind of technology do you use?" Asked Twilight. Blake went into his pockets to pull out his iPhone and showed it to Twilight. Twilight lifted it with her magic and studied it.
"That's my cell-phone. It lets me talk with anyone anywhere and anytime. It let's me use the internet, which is sort of like a huge database of information that can be accessed at anytime. I can play games, take photos, and a whole lot of other things," said Blake.
"Can I see how it works?" Asked Twilight. Blake nodded. Twilight handed the phone back to Blake. He then turned on his phone, revealing a wallpaper that he didn't remember putting on.
"What the hell? I don't remember setting a photo of the group and I as my lock-screen," said Blake.
"Look at the photo, that must have been taken yesterday at the party!" Said Twilight.
"Makes sense. Anyway so this screen is known as the lock-screen. It protects anyone else from using my iPhone."
"How?"
"Because when I swipe the screen, it does this. See? It asks for a passcode. Only I know the passcode."
"What's the code?"
"0-1-0-8. I have no trouble telling you ponies because I know you won't steal my stuff."
"What's the significance of the code?"
"It's my birthday. January 8."
"So after you enter the code what happens?"
"Oh well lemme enter it...alright so now this is the home screen. I can access applications from here."
"Ooh click on Music."
"Sure. Alright now from here I can access songs I put on my phone. Wanna hear one?"
"Sure," replied Twilight. Blake clicked on a song called Headstrong by Trapt. "Do all humans listen to this kind of music?"
"Not every human listens to it," replied Blake. Blake went further on into details about his phone and its capabilities. It took a while for Twilight to understand all of its capabilities. But in time, she understood. Afterwards, Blake went into further detail about economics, politics, culture, and social aspects of his world. Twilight was taken aback by everything. This was all so new to her. Both civilizations had many differences. However, she was also surprised by how many similarities here were.
After all was said and done, it was five in the afternoon. The two had wasted the morning and a good part of the afternoon talking. By the time they were done, Twilight had dozens of pages worth of information.
"And that's all I know about crystal meth," said Blake. They had been discussing the harmful drugs people put into their bodies.
"This'll be a good report to the Princess. By the way, how do you know about crystal meth?" Asked Twilight. She was shocked about Blake's knowledge of the chemical composition of crystal meth and how it was made.
"Well when you live in the worst part of New York, you hear a lot of crazy shit. That and theres a show called Breaking Bad that covers some things about it," replied Blake.
"Have you ever-"
"No. I would never put that crap into my body," Blake interrupted.
"Your knowledge of it still shocks me," said Twilight. Blake nodded. "Well anyway, we are done with this interview."
"Finally! How long have we...we've been here 9 hours?!" Said Blake.
"I know it was short," said Twilight.
"9 hours is short for you? Holy hell you would have loved to meet Dr. Kakashi," said Blake. He chuckled at his doctor's name. As cool as his last name was, Dr. Kakashi talked forever and went on and on with pointless stuff. Blake remembered how he would practically sleep with his eyes open in front of him while Dr. Kakashi rambled on.
"Whose that?"
"Oh uh don't worry about it. He was just my doctor," said Blake. As Twilight and Blake stood to leave, the two heard a scream.
"Look out!" Said a familiar voice. Following it was a crashing sound through Blake's door.
"The hell was that?" Asked Blake. The two raced towards the crash site and followed the path of destruction that led to none other than Rainbow Dash. She quickly rose to the ground and met up with Blake and Twilight. Blake simply said,"Well thanks for making a mess of the place."
"Heh-heh sorry. I was practicing some moves while flying here and I guess I lost control," said Rainbow Dash.
"You guess? Whatever it is, why were you coming here in the first place?" Asked Twilight. Rainbow Dash reached into her saddlebag and took out a newspaper with her mouth. She walked up to Blake, who took the newspaper from her mouth.
"Read it," said Rainbow Dash. Blake gazed at the newspaper and began saying it out loud.
"What was thought to be nothing but a mere myth has now been spotted in Ponyville. A human by the name Blake has appeared in Equestria. A picture of the human shows that this creature is extremely different from anything anypony has seen. Princess Celestia says she will be visiting the human tomorrow," said Blake. Blake glanced at the picture that was included with the article. It must have been a picture taken at the party because the atmosphere of the picture looked so familiar. In the picture, Blake was dancing with Rarity while Spike was on a couch eating gems. "So? It's a newspaper article with me in it. This was bound to happen."
"Well either way I thought you should know. Hey, you doing anything? Also, why haven't I seen you all day?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well I'm free right now and I was busy the whole day with Twilight. She wanted to interview me," replied Blake.
"And we are done. I have to go home and start writing my report. I'll see you two later," said Twilight. Rainbow Dash and Blake waved Twilight goodbye as she left.
"So now I'm free," said Blake. Blake began to clean up what Rainbow Dash messed up.
"Heh-heh lemme help you with that," said Rainbow Dash. It took about 5 minutes of cleaning up.
"Welp, looks like we're done. Thanks for the help by the way," said Blake. Rainbow Dash nodded.
"So what do you want to do?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well I kinda just want to walk around," said Blake.
"I'll join you," said Rainbow Dash. Blake nodded as they both exited the home.
They wandered around Ponyville for a bit. It was quiet the whole time. None had decided to talk, that is, until Rainbow Dash broke the silence.
"So what is that thing around your neck?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Oh this thing?" Asked Blake. He nearly forgot that he even wore it, as he has had it on for a long time. It was merely a pendant with two wings wrapped around a black star.
"Yeah, it looks cool!" Said Rainbow Dash.
"Oh well uhm, I got this a while back when I was uh..."
"When you were what?"
"It's sort of a personal thing," said Blake. Blake took off his necklace and gazed at it. Images of painful memories crossed his mind, making him clench his pendant in his fist tightly.
"Uh Blake?" Asked Rainbow Dash. Blake's mind stopped wandering and came back to reality.
"Oh sorry. I sorta zoned out," said Blake.
"It's fine if you don't wanna talk about it," said Rainbow Dash. Blake nodded and put his necklace back on. They continued to walk.
"So what do you do for fun?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"Well I would usually played video games," said Blake.
"What are those?"
"Oh well how about I just show you?" Asked Blake. Blake took out his iPhone.
"Ooh is that the thing you took out during the party?" Asked Rainbow Dash. She must have been referring to when Blake took the picture that was now his lock screen. He nodded in response, unlocking the phone and clicking on Temple Run. Rainbow Dash watched intensely as Blake avoided obstacles and ran.
"This game is called Temple Run, the point is to just dodge obstacles and avoid being eaten by monsters," said Blake.
"That looks like what I would imagine a Daring Do book to be like!" Said Rainbow Dash. Of course she would say something like that.
"Well other video games are much better than this," said Blake. "Compared to this, other video games are—Damn it!" Blake ran into a tree.
"What's wrong?"
"I lost," Blake said. He turned off his phone and put it back in his pocket. "So what's next?"
"I have no idea," said Rainbow Dash. A second later both stomachs rumbled.
"I guess we know where we're going next," said Blake. The two wandered around Ponyville, scouting a good place to eat. They finally found somewhere good and walked into the restaurant.
"Well this place looks fancy," said Blake. All around the restaurant, there were ponies in fancy get-ups.
"I'm not sure I'm gonna like it here. I hate fancy shmancy places," said Rainbow Dash. Blake couldn't agree more.
"Let's book it then. I saw someplace back that we could—"
"Rainbow Dash? Blake? What are you two doing here?" Asked a voice. Blake and Rainbow Dash looked around until they spotted the source of the voice. It was Rarity. Sitting with her was an unrecognized stallion.
"Oh hey Rarity. What's up?" Asked Rainbow Dash. They walked towards Rarity and the stallion.
"What are you two doing here?" Asked Rarity. "You realize this is a couples restaurant, right?"
"What?!" Said Rainbow Dash and Blake in unison.
"There was a sign at the front door," said Rarity. The stallion did not talk the entire time. He just watched what was going down.
"I had no idea," said the two in unison.
"Why are you copying what I am saying?" They said again.
"No, you're copying me!" They said again.
"Stop copying me!" They said once again. They looked at each others eyes and started laughing. Rarity giggled at the sight.
"Well we'll be on our way. Wait, Rarity, when you have some spare time, you think you could make me some new clothes?" Asked Blake.
"Well of course Blake. I was going to make some anyway," said Rarity. "Simply stop by anytime and I'll take your measurements."
"Alright thanks. We'll see you later!" Said Blake. Rainbow Dash and Blake walked out of the restaurant and proceeded going through Ponyville.
"So where do we eat?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"I have no idea, how about that place over there?" Asked Blake. Blake pointed a finger at a restaurant that looked nice.
"Oh yeah, I missed that one," said Rainbow Dash. The two headed towards the restaurant. Going inside, they were greeted by a waiter who happily sat them down.
Blake looked at the menu and desperately tried to find something that he could eat.
"What are you eating?" Asked Blake.
"I'm having the hay fries. You?" Replied Rainbow Dash.
"Well I can't exactly eat anything here," Blake said. Blake shrugged his shoulders. "Oh what the hell, I'll just try the hay fries. Who knows, I might be able to digest it."
"You sure? We can always try other restaurants until we find one that has something you can eat," responded Rainbow Dash. Blake shook his head.
"It's fine. Let's just test this out," said Blake. The waiter appeared a couple seconds later.
"What will you two be ordering?" The waiter asked.
"We'll have the hay fries," said Blake. The waiter nodded and used his magic to levitate a pencil and mini-notebook and scribbled on it. He left afterwards.
The two talked about random things until the food came back.
"Your food," said the waiter, who held the plates of food with his magic. The two thanked the waiter and began to eat. Rainbow Dash ate normally as Blake took a hay fry and examined it.
"You going to experiment with it or eat it?" Asked Rainbow Dash, who recently swallowed some food. Blake looked at Rainbow Dash then glared back at the fry.
"*Gulp* Here goes nothing," said Blake. Blake took the fry and put it in his mouth. As he chewed, he immediately spit it out. "Damn it, guess I can't eat what you ponies eat."
"That sucks, now if you aren't gonna eat those fries..." Said Rainbow Dash. Blake pushed his plate towards Rainbow Dash, who gladly took it. Blake watched as Rainbow Dash ate both meals. For an athlete, Rainbow Dash sure ate freely.
After a couple of minutes of eating and talking, the two paid for their meal and left the restaurant. Blake's stomach grumbled, but he could deal with that later.
"So now what do we do?" Asked Rainbow Dash. Blake shrugged and kept walking in a random direction. Rainbow Dash followed and they both walked in the random direction.
The two walked for what seemed like an hour, pretty much because it was an hour. They talked more in depth about what they did for fun.
"Roller-coasters sound awesome!" Said Rainbow Dash. Blake had gotten done explaining what roller-coasters were.
"They are. It's fun to be on 'em. The best ones are at a place called Six Flags. They go fast and they are really big. I remember my first time on one. I ended up vomiting, partly because I ate beforehand," said Blake.
"Nice job," responded Rainbow Dash. "It's getting pretty late now, I should head home. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Alright then. See you later," replied Blake. Rainbow Dash flew off into the distance leaving Blake to himself. He made his way back home.
