The school bell at Blake's high school rang loudly, signaling the end of Blake's Spanish class, and the start of the lunch period. Blake got up from his seat, taking his school bag with him. Fortunately, his locker was on the same floor as his classroom. Arriving at his locker, Blake opened his locker to put away his bag and take out his lunch money. When he closed his locker, he was confronted by a very annoying James.
"What do you want James?" Asked Blake. James leaned on the locker beside Blake, grinning as he did so.
"What? I can't visit little Blakey Wakey?" Teased James. He playfully nudged Blake's shoulder.
"Can you not?" Blake was now getting annoyed.
"Not what?" Asked James, who continued to push Blake. Luckily for Blake, the hallways quickly cleared, leaving the two to themselves.
"Quit pushing me. You seem to like touching other men don't you?" Asked Blake. James' grin now became a blank expression. James simply laughed and pushed Blake more.
"You know what? You can continue that with someone else. I'm going to go eat some lunch," Blake said. As Blake turned to walk away, he felt a hard shove from James, causing him to fall on the floor. Blake grew red with anger as James laughed.
Blake got to his feet and gave James a harder shove, sending James crashing into some lockers and then falling to the floor. James got back to his feet, now angry.
"So you finally gonna fight back? Thought you were too much of a pussy," James angrily said. Blake simply responded with a fist straight to the stomach of James. James groaned in pain as he now threw his fist at Blake, striking across the face. Blake fell to the floor while his cheek grew red from the fist. James walked to Blake, spitting at him as he tried to get up.
"You're not worth sweating over bitch. Tell you what, when you can stop being a pussy and a freak, come back to me so we can settle this like men," James stated. He spit at Blake, who was holding his face in pain, once more and quietly walked away.
Blake stood back up on his feet, still clenching his face in pain. The emotional pain hurt even worse. Fighting off some tears, he failed as a single tear spread across his face. He wiped it off and headed to lunch.
Blake sat by himself at an empty table. He set down his lunch tray on the table and ate his lunch.
As Blake quietly ate his lunch, he was approached by 4 guys.
"What's up fag?" Asked a young boy. The rest of the boy's friends laughed at his remark. The boy sat next to Blake, taking the water bottle that lay on his tray. Blake made an attempt to take back his water bottle, but was quickly put off from doing so by a hand on his chest from the bully's friend.
"Want your water back? Well here!" Said the boy. He opened the stolen water bottle and sprayed water on Blake. The others laughed at Blake as he quickly became soaked with water.
Blake was now soaked in water. Growing tired of being bullied, he simply pushed the person holding him out of the way, and left the lunchroom. He made another attempt to hold back tears. He lost the battle once again. However, this time, many tears began to fall as he sobbed to himself. He slowly walked to the bathroom on the same floor as his locker. He tried his hardest to take out most of the water that soaked his clothes. Blake may have taken out most of the water, but he was still covered in water. At least it was an attempt. He walked out of the bathroom and to his locker, where he sat alone by it.
As he sobbed quietly to himself, he heard footsteps coming towards him. He quickly wiped away his tears.
"Too late, already saw you tear up," said the voice of Mr. Jackson, Blake's guidance counselor. "Now, would you care to explain why you're covered in water, crying, and at your locker when its time for lunch?" Blake stayed silent with his head on his knees.
"Doesn't matter," Blake finally said.
"Oh well it does to me," Mr Jackson responded.
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Why not?"
"Because I said so."
"*sigh* It looks like you're having a bad day."
"Oh, nice observation."
"Blake, I don't usually do this but, I want you to go home. You look like you want some alone time. You can pack your stuff and leave. I'll make sure your marked present in all your classes."
"Really? You would do that for me?"
"Yes now go on before the lunch period ends."
Blake's frown turned into a smile. Mr. Jackson did the same thing and walked away. Blake quickly packed his stuff and left the school.
Blake opened the door of his home and stepped inside to dead silence. Blake dropped his bag and changed his clothes in his room. Now dry, Blake lay on his bed. He didn't want to do it, but for some reason, he was forced by his mind to recall the events of the day. His neutral grin slowly turned into a frown.
Blake got up to use the bathroom. When he got in, he saw his own reflection through a mirror located in the bathroom. He stared at his reflection, as if he saw a monster. Blake did his business in the bathroom and left as soon as possible.
Blake walked to his room and lay on his bed. He reached for the remote next to him and turned his TV to an on demand channel. After that, he put on an episode of My Little Pony. That show had always calmed him down when he was angry. It always made him happy when he was sad.Too bad it wasn't a show that was exactly "acceptable" for a teenage boy like Blake in the eyes of others.
Blake laid on his bed, watching My Little Pony for a long time. Just when he thought he heard the sound of his front door opening from his bedroom, Blake fell asleep.
Blake woke up to the taste of dirt in his mouth. He quickly spit it out and rose to his feet, dusting himself off as he did so. Looking around, he noticed that he was in a dark forest. He could also see a swamp, whose water was a sickly yellow. It reeked of garbage.
"Where am I?" Asked Blake. Perhaps someone decided to pull a prank on him. Maybe he sleepwalked. Whatever it was, he didn't like it. Not one bit.
After an hour of wandering without a sense for direction, Blake spotted a small cottage.
"Ha! That kind of looks like...no no Blake it isn't what you think it is," Blake said. He proceeded to the cottage, hoping to find someone who can help him. Had someone been there, they wouldn't exactly see the best Blake had ever been. His clothes reeked of a sickening smell, definitely from the swamp since he was there for so long. Not only that, his clothes were dirty and were stained with mud and grime.
But at that moment, Blake didn't care. He just wanted to find someone and get out of there. An idea finally popped into Blake's head.
"My phone!" Blake said. He quickly pulled his iPhone out, fumbling with it as he did so. He unlocked his phone and looked with horror as he found out there was no service.
"Stupid Verizon not having any service here!" He put phone away and felt something else in his pocket.
"Wait what's this?" Blake said, pulling the suspicious object from within his pocket. The "mysterious" object was his compact solar phone charger. Just wonderful. He has a charger for something that won't even work. Very stupid situation. Blake shook his head angrily, putting back everything into his pocket. Blake now proceeded to walk to the cottage, which he was distracted from doing with the whole phone situation. Getting closer to the cottage, he heard a voice chanting words he had never heard before. Hesitantly, Blake knocked on the door.
"Just a minute my friend, for I have things to attend," said a voice from within. Blake chuckled.
"Now this is really looking like what I thought it was," Blake said. He chuckled at his thought. He heard the rattling of stuff from within the home. The door opened.
"AHHHH!" Screamed both Blake and a zebra in unison.
"What are you for I have never see anything like you!" Said the zebra.
"I would like to ask the same question!" Blake said. Blake now knew his suspicions were correct. This was Zecora. But if Zecora lived in the Everfree Forest, the that means he his in the land of Equestria. The two gazed at each other for what seemed like 4 hours, which was actually 4 minutes, trying their hardest to make sense of the situation. Finally, Zecora broke the silence.
"So mysterious creature what are you for I say again have never seen you," Zecora said. Blake finally grew the courage to speak.
"Well, my name is Blake and I am a human. No need to explain yourself, I already know who you are. Don't ask how but I just do," Said Blake.
"Very strange I say but hurt me not I pray." Said Zecora.
"Hurt you? I would never! I'm a nice guy. Well this has been fun but can you point me in the direction of Ponyville please?"
"So Ponyville is what you seek, but don't be mad if the townsfolk call you a freak."
"Ha! If you knew were I came from..." Said Blake. Blake waved goodbye and headed in the direction that Zecora pointed towards. All sorts of thoughts went through his mind. Should he just flat out say he knew everything about everyone like he did with Zecora? Should he lie and keep the show My Little Pony a secret? Would they even accept him for being a human? Whatever would happen, Blake was sure this wouldn't be easy.
After about a half hour, Blake began to grow impatient. That is, until he saw some familiar faces on a nearby hill.
Off into the distance, Blake saw a figure moving around the hill.
"Twilight Sparkle," Blake whispered. He watched as Twilight Sparkle was observing the sky as if she was expecting something to come out from it. Blake ignored this and kept walking. It was not until he was a couple meters from her, that he spoke up.
"Umm hello?" Blake asked. Twilight, who was facing another direction, turned around to see the human.
"Oh Celestia! What the hay are you?" Asked Twilight. Blake merely stood with a nonchalant stance.
"I'm Blake, a human."
"A human? But those are merely myths. An old mares tale. How can you possibly exist?"
"Um, because I do?"
"Well how did you get here?"
"That's the thing. I don't know. I woke up and here I am, in the land of Equestria."
"Wait a minute, you just said you weren't from here. How did you know you were in Equestria?"
"Oh...crap. I guess I'm just gonna have to spill the beans."
"What do you mean?"
"Look, where I come from, this whole world is widely known."
"But how?"
"Well we have a device that plays different...err...worlds and can show what is happening in all of them," Blake said. Blake tried his best to make this not sound THAT creepy.
"So you can see other worlds through a device you humans built?" Asked Twilight.
"Basically. So I already know everything about you and your other friends. Sorry if it sounds creepy, but that's the truth."
"Wow...I didn't even know that was possible! This is such a huge discovery! First we have a mythological creature and now we know they are capable of seeing other worlds! This will make an excellent report to the Princess!" Blake stood there as Twilight talked to herself, asking questions to herself on what she may discover.
"Twilight?" Blake interrupted. Twilight faced back at Blake.
"Yes?"
"As much as I like this world and all, you think you might have an idea on how I can get back to my world?" Blake said. As much as he really wanted to stay here, this was not his world. He doesn't belong in Equestria.
"Well I'm not even sure how you got here. We can figure this out but its getting kind of late. Would you like to come stay with me?"
"Oh wow. You would do that for me?"
"Of course. Now just follow me."
"Alright. Also, thank you." Blake said. Twilight smiled and led Blake to her home. It took a while to get to Twilight's place. However, when they did, it was already nighttime.
Entering Twilight's home, Blake could see Spike, who was happily baking a cake with some gems in it.
"Hi Spike, we have a visitor. His name is Blake." Said Twilight.
"Oh okay. Lemme just...what is that thing?" Asked Spike, pointing at Blake.
"His name is Blake." Said Twilight.
"He's Blake? Well this isn't the weirdest thing I've been through. Hi Blake!" Said Spike.
"Whats up?" Uttered Blake. Spike, shocked that this creature can talk, raised his hand to shake the creature's hand. Blake happily returned the gesture.
"Blake what are you?" Asked Spike.
"Oh well I'm a human," Blake responded. Spike turned his head in wonder. This human was nothing Spike had ever seen before.
"Well I need to go now. I'm getting really tired. I'll see you tomorrow," said Spike.
"Bye Spike," Said both Twilight and Blake. Spike made his way upstairs, leaving the two alone.
"Well you can sleep in the guest room upstairs. It already has everything you need so don't worry about it. You should get some rest because tomorrow I'll see if I can introduce you to my friends. Good night," said Twilight.
"Good night and thank you. For everything," said Blake. Blake headed upstairs and made his way to the guest room. When he had found it, he laid in his bed, pondering his thoughts to see what his next course of action would be. What would he do? Would it even be possible for him to get back home? Does he even want to go back home? The world he came from was terrible. However, it just didn't feel right to Blake to come to a world of peace and friendship with a background of having come from a world of hate and tragedy and suffering. All these thoughts went through Blake's mind as he slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.
The next day, Blake awoke to 6 ponies staring at him. These 6 ponies were Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight Sparkle. They were all staring at him as he rose to his feet. He then decided to break the silence.
"What's with the awkward silence?" Asked Blake. Everyone except for Twilight gasped.
"It can talk?!" Asked the 5 ponies in unison.
"It? Mind referring to me as Blake?" Responded Blake. Twilight walked forward.
"Girls I thought I already told you. I already said HE can talk," said Twilight.
"What exactly are you?" Asked Rainbow Dash.
"I'm a human," responded Blake.
"Twilight also mentioned something 'bout you knowing every bit about us? Is that true friend?" Asked Applejack.
"Yes it is true Applejack, Element of Honesty," said Blake. Applejack took a step back in shock. It was obvious that the others were just as shocked as Applejack was.
"So let me get this straight, your a human from another world that somehow knows everything about us, but you don't know how you got here?" Asked Rainbow Dash. It was clear the 5 ponies would not stop until all their questions have been answered.
"Pretty much. Well if you need me, I'll be looking for somewhere to stay while I am living in Ponyville," said Blake.
"Wait, why don't you just stay here with me in the library?" Asked Twilight.
"Because I'm not a free-loader. It's alright I can find some place to sleep."
"I can always tell Princess Celestia about your presence and see what I can do to help you get a home," Twilight said, now turning to Spike, "Spike, take a letter," Spike drew a quill and paper and nodded when he was ready to take a note. While Twilight was stating her letter to Spike, who was writing every word of it, The rest of the ponies continued talking.
"Oh oh oh! We should have a welcoming party for Blake! It'll be super duper awesome!" Said Pinkie Pie.
"Wait a minute, how can we even trust you now? We just met you! I can't trust somepony we just met!" Said Rainbow Dash. She crossed her arms while in midair.
"Rainbow Dash, you mustn't forget what happened with Zecora. We 'judged a book by its cover' and almost missed the opportunity to make a new friend. This is the exact situation. Give him a chance," Rarity protested. Rainbow simply huffed and looked the other direction. She faced back at Blake.
"I'm keeping my eye on you buster! You try anything and I'll give you the pounding of your life!" Rainbow Dash shook her hoof at Blake. If she had fingers, she would most likely flip Blake off. Blake shook his head. So this is how his favorite pony was going to treat him. Blake had always been a fan of Rainbow Dash based on the show. However, it seemed she was being a jerk in real life.
"Whatever you say," Blake said. The other 4 ponies shook their heads in disappointment at Rainbow Dash. Finally, Twilight came back.
"Alright I just sent a letter to Princess Celestia about your arrival and I should be getting a reply any minute-" Twilight was interrupted.
"TWILIGHT! You got a letter from the Princess," Spike interrupted. Twilight grabbed the letter with her magic and personally read it.
"My faithful student Twilight, since you have told that the human is not hostile, I will allow him to stay in Equestria. I have made arrangements for him to stay in a vacant home around Ponyville. I will come by in 3 days to see this human for myself. Please accommodate the human, as I am very busy at the moment." Dictated Twilight. "So that's whats gonna happen. You now have a home here in Ponyville."
"Wow! Thank you Twilight!" Blake thanked everyone...everypony? Everypony smiled, except for Rainbow Dash.
"I'm going to plan the super duper best welcome party ever!" Pinkie Pie said as she dashed for who knows where.
"Blake darling, you must let me make you some new clothes. Those look so terrible!" Rarity said. Blake nodded in agreement. Rarity smiled and left as well.
"I'll see you later at the welcoming party. I need to go do some more chores," Applejack said, leaving as well.
"I need to go check on my animals, if you don't mind. I'll see you later Blake," Fluttershy said, also leaving. Rainbow didn't bother to say anything before she flew away. Suddenly, Spike burped up a new letter.
"Oh! This is the deed for your new home," Spike said.
"I guess I'll leave then. I should go make myself at home. I'll see you guys later," Blake took the deed, folding it and putting it in his pocket. He waved goodbye and went to the address on the deed. It took a while for Blake to get to his home. On his way to Ponyville, it seemed as though the residents already heard of the strange new creature. Perhaps Pinkie Pie had already given the party invitations. If so, then Pinkie must be really fast.
Finally, Blake had made his way to his home. It was a rather big home, looking more like a mansion then a regular home. Stepping inside, he could see a living room and kitchen combined. There was a staircase near the back. Going up the stairs, he saw 2 rooms. One was a master bedroom and the other a guest room. There were connected with a hallway. Everything in his home was already complete. It already had furniture and was well stocked with food. They sure did know how to accommodate new arrivals.
Blake spent the next hour rearranging things in his home so it was more comfortable. After he did so, he sat on his couch.
"Now where is the damn TV remote?" Blake asked. He wasted 5 minutes of his time trying to find a remote. Finally, reality hit him. "Oh wait. No TV here. Oh...right..." Blake grunted in disapproval. He was now obligated to go outside and find something to do. During Blake's little dilemma, a pink card slipped from the bottom of his front door. Followed by it was the sound of hooves moving away from his door. Blake opened his door, but saw nothing. He then looked down to see an invitation to a "Welcome the Human!" party. Opening up the invitation, confetti popped and made a mess of the floor. Blake could tell by the invitation that his party would be in 30 minutes at Twilight's library.
Blake could hear the sound of music roaring from Twilight's library. Ponies were scattered throughout the perimeter. There was probably even more inside the library. As Blake got closer to the library, he could see ponies waving their hooves at him in delight. They were very trusting. Blake happily waved back and made his way in the library.
"Shout out to the newcomer that just walked in! Let me hear you scream!" Screamed Vinyl from behind a DJ table near the back of the library. Everypony immediately began to scream and stomp their hooves as music roared from 2 enormous speakers. Blake felt weird being in the spotlight, and he liked it. Everypony started to dance, following them was Blake.
This continued for the next half hour. Everything seemed to be going well, that is, until a pegasus stomped into the room.
"Everypony stop!" Screamed Rainbow Dash at the top of her lungs. The music scratched to a stop and everything turned quiet. Coming from Applejack, Rarity, Twilight, Pinkie pie, and Fluttershy were the whispers of "uh-oh".
"Why are you all willing to trust him so easily? Don't you see what he is trying to do? He's trying to get our trust so that he can do evil things afterwards! He's playing all of you like fools!" The whole library grew silent. Blake could feel everypony's eyes shifting a cold glare at him. It was bad enough everyone in his world hated him, now everypony in this world was going to hate him and it would all be because of Rainbow Dash.
"Rainbow Dash, why are you saying these things?! Why do you hate me so much? You know none of that is true!" Screamed Blake.
"Don't play stupid with me Blake, if that even is your real name!" Responded Rainbow Dash.
"It is my real name! Why do you keep on thinking I'm evil!? Why can't you just stop saying stuff like this?!"
"Because you're evil! You're just a freak who wants to come into our world to invade!" Said Rainbow Dash. Blake had heard enough. Tears began to form in his eyes. Battling against his own tears was too hard to do as everypony now saw Blake crying. No sound formed from Blake, but a lot of tears started falling from his eyes.
"So that's what you think of me?" Asked Blake. Rainbow Dash nodded. "I thought I wasn't going to have to deal with bullies in this world. Guess I was wrong," Blake started to sob heavily as he ran out of the library, leaving everypony glaring at Rainbow Dash. Everypony seemed to shake their head in disappointment at Rainbow Dash, knowing she made the newcomer cry. They left slowly, making sure to give Rainbow Dash a glare of disgust. Rainbow Dash didn't mind. She was sure she was right. It wouldn't matter to her if all of Equestria hated her, as long as she was sure no human would harm her friends.
The library was now cleared. All that was left were the decorations and 5 angry ponies.
"Rainbow Dash! What the hay was that?! Why in the name of Celestia did you do that?! You ruined the welcoming party and made poor Blake cry!" Stated Applejack.
"Oh come on! You can totally see that Blake is evil!" Said Rainbow Dash.
"No Rainbow Dash! The only one I see that is being evil is you!" Stated Twilight. Rainbow Dash glared in surprise at her friend.
"I simply cannot believe you would do something like this! For you stoop so low as to ruin Blake at his own welcoming party...it's just disgusting," said Rarity.
"Rainbow Dash how could you be such a bully?" Said an angry Fluttershy.
"Super duper mean!" Said Pinkie Pie. After leaving some more choice words, the five ponies left the library. Rainbow Dash looked back at her friends statements. Were her friends possibly right? Could she have been wrong? Was Blake...actually not evil? It took a while for Rainbow Dash to snap out of her childish form and now regretted what she had done. She had lost the chance to lose a friend and was now going to lose more. As much as she hates to admit she's wrong, there is no no choice but to say sorry to Blake, who ran off to who knows where. She was determined to find Blake and say sorry.
Blake ran in a random direction. He knew he wouldn't be welcomed into Ponyville without one pony protesting. First, he couldn't have nothing but enemies in his own world and now he has one here. Could nothing go right? Thoughts circled through his mind as he ran and ran.
After a while Blake found himself in a forest. It was extremely dark, but the moon offered some light, allowing Blake to see. This did not stop Blake though. He continued on his path. Mud sticked to Blake's shoes at every step. It smelled horrid. Blake knew he was in the Everfree forest. He didn't care what ponies said about it. He just continued walking.
After 10 minutes Blake finally stopped his journey. He was getting tired if just wandering pointlessly. He sat on a nearby tree stump. He figured he could take a break and then get back to running. He listened quietly for the sound of anything. He could not hear anything. Suddenly however, he heard the cracking of twigs behind him. He turned to the sound to reveal a small white cat.
"Aww it's so cute!" Exclaimed Blake. The cat glared blankly at Blake. Out of nowhere, a black aurora surrounded it and its shape turned from a cat, to a creepy looking tiger.
"Okay so maybe not so cute. AHH!"
*ROAR*
"Blake please open the door. I'm sorry for what happened. I need to talk with you face to face," said Rainbow Dash, who was knocking the door of Blake's home. No response. Rainbow Dash figured Blake just didn't want to talk with her. For 10 minutes, Rainbow Dash banged on Blake's door. Finally, she got tired of waiting.
"That's it, I'm coming in!" Said Rainbow Dash. She bucked the door open and went inside.
"Wow this is a nice place," whispered Rainbow Dash. She searched the home for any sign of Blake. Unfortunately, she could find anything. When all hope was lost, Rainbow Dash heard a roar coming from the Everfree forest. It was very hard to catch but it was audible. Rainbow Dash hoped she would find Blake near the sound. However, it would mean finding out what that roaring sound was. It didn't matter, she had a friendship to patch. She dashed out of Blake's home and headed in the direction of the roar.
"Kitty no!" Blake screamed as the tiger pounced at it. Blake dodged it with a dive to the right. He got to his feet and ran. Unfortunately, the tiger was faster. Blake attempted to lose it by turning and jumping, but it was futile. He ran and ran and for a minute, it seemed as though it was Temple Run. Unfortunately, Blake turned into a dead end.
"Oh no damn it!" Blake said as he searched for a way out. There was no way out. He was now pursued slowly by the tiger. A wall of rocks blocked Blake from backing away any longer. He was now paralyzed with fear as the tiger continued to slowly walk towards him. It seemed as though he was going to die.
"Hey, leave him alone!" Said a voice. Blake and the tiger turned to the voice to reveal Rainbow Dash, standing on top of a stack of rocks. The tiger roared once again. It would not stop. Rainbow Dash flew at the tiger at an astonishing speed, hitting the tiger and forcing it to be thrown a couple of feet to the right.
"Rainbow Dash what are you doing here?" Asked Blake, who did not forget what happened.
"No time to explain, hop on my back so we can get out of here!" Said Rainbow Dash. It was going to be awkward, but there was no choice for Blake. The tiger was getting up, stumbling as it did so due to Rainbow Dash's punch. When Blake finally got on, Rainbow Dash flew away, leaving the tiger.
When he coast was clear and they were out of the Everfree forest, Rainbow Dash landed on a hill. Blake got off Rainbow Dash and stepped on the hill, thankful that he was not holding on for his life. Blake turned away from Rainbow Dash.
"Uh...thanks..." Said Blake.
"Your welcome," responded Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash wanted badly to say sorry, but it was hard for her to say it. Blake turned to walk away. This was now or never for Rainbow Dash.
"Wait," said Rainbow Dash.
"What?" Asked Blake.
"I-I'm sorry for what I did at the party."
"..."
"It was wrong of me to do what I did, especially at your party. And I'm also sorry for being a jerk to you since you got here. You probably will hate me still but I just want to let you know, I'm sorry," Rainbow Dash said. Blake was shocked at this. As Rainbow Dash turned to fly off, Blake stopped her, with a hug. Rainbow Dash was caught off guard with the hug, but did not hesitate to return the friendly gesture.
"Thank you," Blake said. He continued to hug Rainbow Dash. "Now, there is a party that never finished. Let's see if Pinkie Pie can get everypony back." Rainbow Dash nodded and they walked the whole way to Ponyville.
Music roared in the library as ponies danced to the music Vinyl was playing through her two enormous speakers. Pinkie Pie had managed to gather everypony back to the party. Everypony forgave Rainbow Dash for what she did. They partied hard for a long time. Blake had continued to sit on the couch, talking it up with the ponies that conversed with him. Twilight, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Applejack danced while Pinkie Pie served snacks. Rainbow Dash was helping Vinyl with the music. Spike laid on the floor passed out with diamonds in his hand. All was good in Ponyville. Blake's first day was good in Equestria.
