Chapter 1: Looking for a story

I stepped out. The crowd was calling my name. "Clue Searcher! Clue Searcher!" Ponies gathered round me, the most famous detective. Stallions whistled at me. I winked at them. Suddenly, a beeping noise sounded through the crowds and everypony seemed to melt away. I suddenly realised it was my alarm clock, and my not-so-celebrity-like life was off again. I immediately jumped out of bed (well, slowly fell out of bed) and turned the stupid thing off.

"Game Boy! Can you get the Oatabix out of the cupboard?"

I called to my younger brother downstairs. Our Mother had died when we were young, and I had promised Mum I'd look after Game Boy. Now, he shares my rented flat and plays on the P box all day. I marched downstairs to make sure he wasn't already on FIFA.

Sure enough, Game was already on P box live talking to somepony named 'Matty'. I unplugged the wire that was connected to the console and scowled at him. He simply shrugged, before plugging it back in.

"Didn't you hear me! I wanted you to get the Oatabix out! Just because you're younger than me doesn't mean you can't do your share of work!"

I was red in the face. Game just laughed, before returning to his match. I walked off, ignoring my brother's stupidity and went to have my breakfast.

I sat down, placing my breakfast in front of me. I fetched the newspaper from the doorstep and placed it next to my Oatibix. I often looked for juicy gossip, for I needed a story. I had almost been fired by my boss at the detective agency due to the fact I hadn't had a story for months. I managed to persuade him that I would find a story, and that's what I've been trying to do. Suddenly, the front page caught my eye.

"But...how could this be...it's impossible!"

I murmured to myself. I arose from my chair and fastened my saddle bag tight. I shoved the newspaper in my bag, then wrote a note on the fridge to my brother. I tore down the street before reaching inside my saddle bag.

"Yes that was the address. 231 Flyer Lane, Cloudsdale."

I said before arriving at the front door of my new client's house, Rainbow Dash.
