Prismatic Soul
Kid's Surprise and Rainbow's Awakening
Previous ChapterNext ChapterKid, Liz, and Patty were well on their way to the academy when they noticed Soul and Maka weren't there.
"Where are they? They're always here early." Liz said with a concerned sigh.
"Shall we head to their houses and see what's going on or what?" Kid asked.
"Uh, Duh du jour! Of course we should go! After all, you're the boss!" Patty replied with giggles.
So they went. After walking a few blocks they arrived at Soul's place. Kid raised a ringed hand and knocked quietly. A few seconds later, Soul opened the door, and held a finger to his mouth, but signalled them to come in.
"Why must we be quiet?" Kid asked with concern. Soul got up from his seat and lead the other three upstairs to the spare bedroom where the girl from the previous night lay. Her breathing was slow, and a little labored, and her hair was a mess.
"She's been tossing and turning all night. Sorry, but I can't leave anywhere until she's well enough to handle herself. Maka will be over here in a minute to help me take care of her. She's supposed to be awake in about an hour tops." He whispered. Suddenly he heard groaning in the bed. The girl opened her eyes for the first time since her drop-in and held her bandaged head in pain. Soul let her use his bandana as a make-do bandage until the pain was gone. She yawned hugely while revealing the same sharp teeth as Soul's, and a lizard-like tongue. She fully opened her eyes and showed a side of panic.
"Where...am I?" Rainbow said.
"You're in my house after a great spill you took. Glad to see you're finally awake. I'm Soul, by the way. Who are you?"
Rainbow didn't quite remember...nor did she remember anything of the current past. She was going to say 'I don't know,' but another name came to mind. Not sure if the name was true or fake, she said it anyway.
"Snow-Raine Lightran?..."
"Lovely. I'm the son of Death, and you're in Death City. Don't worry, you're not dead." Snow breathed a sigh of relief.
"I take it you don't remember everything of the past, can you?" Soul inquired. Snow nodded. "Do you think you can get up and walk?" She tried, but soon stumbled and would have fallen if Soul hadn't caught her. Their eyes locked. The soft smile Soul possessed made Snow blush. She could just barely see a hint of pink on his face.
God, why does she have to be so damn cute when she's confused?Soul thought to himself. He gently set her down back on the bed and ran. When he came back, he was holding a set of crutches. Snow smiled and gradually took them from his hands.
How do I know how to use these? There was only slightly bitter pain when the crutches decreased the pressure on her legs.
"Thank you."
"She's what!?" Applejack exclaimed.
"That's not even the worst part! Without her, I can't even use the spell to bring her back!" Twilight said clearly stressed. "We have to send a letter to Celestia and Luna." She said desperately.
