Rainbow with hearts

~~~Chapter 1~~~

Rainbow dash was absolutely exhausted. The rainbow-maned mare was sitting in pony Joes Donut shop and had her head resting on top of her hooves. She had a horrible night at the gala, she was invited to spend time with the Wonderbolts but she never got to spend a single second in a conversation. Now she felt like falling asleep because of all the things she tried to do to impress them. Applejack was the first to notice something was wrong.

"are you ok sugar cube?" she asked

"nah... just tired" Rainbow replied

"Maybe you should get some sleep sweetie pie, it'll be tha best for ya" AJ said

Rainbow sighed "ok" she mumbled and headed out. After a night like this all she wanted was her warm, comfy cloud bed. She took off, spreading her wings and enjoying the breeze in her mane. She loved flying, it was one of the only things that could calm her down.

Rainbow jumped into the night air and spread her wings, making her glide for a moment. She angled her wings up slightly to make her drift upwards. She tucked her forelegs underneath her and straitened out her hind ones, making the breeze slightly graze her hooves. The cool air whipped through her mane, slightly messing up her mane style, she felt the cool breeze gently sift through her wings and move every feather. Her wings were still as she glided her way back home, she only needed to flap them every once-in-a-while to prevent herself from slowing down and taking a free-fall dive back to the ground.

She looked at the sky and took in its beauty, Princess Luna had really outdone herself tonight. The cloudless night made all the stars shine with style. The moon shone brightly that gave Rainbow a appropriate light to fly in. the sound of crikets filled the night with a somewhat comforting felling. Having fresh air to breath after a night of being stuck in buildings really relaxed her.

On her flight home she said to herself,

Is it possible that I really like Soarin? I mean, he's really cute and nice but I'm the coolest, most toughest pony around! I don't just fall in love...Ugh... Why is this so confusing!!

She reached the door of her cloud mansion, steeped inside and went to sleep.

The next morning, she woke up with a loud knocking at the door. She groaned and got slid off her bed and walked slowly to the door.

"Ugh... Who is it? It better not be you derpy!!"  she yelled angrily, her eyes half open.

She opened the door to find Fluttershy on the door step. her mood instantly lifted.

"Oh her Flutters! Wassup?" Rainbow said, trying to sound awake.

Fluttershy looked confused. "oh" she said "you obviously haven't read the newspaper yet have you?"

"The newspaper?" Rainbow asked with her eyebrow raised.

Fluttershy nodded her head and said "do you want me to get a copy?"

"Umm... I guess so.." Rainbow said slightly rubbing her eyes.

'"Ok then, I'll be back in a few minutes" and flew off towards ponyville below her.

Rainbow watched her disappear and closed the door. Why was she in the paper? Did something happen at the gala?

Then she remembered

"OMC" she said "Soarin'! I saved his pie! and now the papers on about it? Ugh..." she flopped on to her sofa and dug her face into the soft, cloud cushions. She wasn't on it long when Fluttershy knocked on the door again.

"She can be fast when she wants to be" Rainbow said. She opened the door... but it wasn't Fluttershy...
