As Rosie and Trevor walked up to the castle, her heart sank in disappointment. Guards stood atop the wall, peering down at her with blank faces.

Trev leaned closer to her. "Act calm, cool, and collected. And for now, be that snooty Rose I like so much."

Rosie nodded, ignoring his flirting, there was one way into the castle for her. By force.

They stopped at the gate and two guards crossed there spears in a large X. Rosie gulped, how could she possibly do this?

"Why are you two here?" the guard asked gruffly.

"Griffon trial." Trev said smoothly. "The names Trev."

The guard nodded. "And what about you, missy?"

"O-Oh me?" Rosie stammered.

"She works for the Canterlot Weekly." Trev cut in. He used his magic to make a notepad and a quill appear. "She's a reporter."

Rosie nodded. "That I am, so if you please.."

"The reporter for Canterlot Weekly has already arrived." The guard next to him said slowly.

Trev opened his mouth to say something, but Rosie drew herself up to her full height, and spread her wings. "I just signed up as a reporter, if you wish to keep me out, you'd better take it up with Princess Celestia. Now, I will ask again. If you please, stand aside and let us in."

The guard let out an audible sigh and they withdrew their spears and stepped back.

"Thank you." Rosie said haughtily, walking past them quickly.

"Wow, way to take charge." Trev chuckled mildly.

"Oh, shut up." Rosie muttered, before she could take another step, she stopped right dead in front of Princess Celestia herself. Rosie let out an "Ohmf." She bowed awkwardly. "I am so sorry, your highness."

"It is quite alright." The Princess said warmly. "Rise." she turned to Trev. "You brought your friend, I see."

He nodded. "Her name is Rosie." He answered.

"Ah yes!" Celestia murmured. "Your father helped to build the catacombs. He spoke most highly of you. It's a shame he was killed in an accident."

"Yes. Princess, I was wondering if I could see the catacombs where my father died. I hear it was supposed to be renovated into a library and well,"
