Discord is bored. That is the world's que to say "uh oh".
He is bored out of his mind and he can't do anything about it because he's reformed! Can't a reformed King of Chaos have some fun every once in a while by making soap roads so that Celestia can fall when she's chasing said reformed King of Chaos for making soap roads? That right there would be entertaining, but nooooo, if he did he would be turned into stone for a thousand years! He can't even make a chocolate milk bomb without getting a wicked look. Princesses are too orderly like that.
There are an infinite number of dimensions and universes out there and Discord had to be in ... wait a second. There are an infinite number of dimensions and universes out there that Discord can do whatever he wants in! There are ones where he is stronger than every living creature in them put together, and others where he is the only being with magic, and others where he is both! He could literally do anything he wanted in most of them, and there wouldn't be any overpowered elements of harmony or annoying pony princesses to deal with! This is a great idea!
All he would have to do is get there! The best way to do that is by portal, so all he has to do is make a portal to a new dimension and he's set! There are a few minor kinks that he would have to work out. For instance, if he did that the princesses would find out right away because making a portal takes a lot of magic. The only magic that Discord has is chaotic and the princesses can tell if he uses to much chaotic magic. Well that sucks. Still a minor issue however! All he would have to do is do ... something .... deep breath, you can say this ......orderly. Gah! Gag! Get some mouth wash over here! This was gonna be more taxing in his comfort than he thought. Eh, it would be worth it.
So, orderly act. How to play this out? Hm, orderliness can almost never be twisted into helping a guy who is as obsessed with chaos as Discord is.... *thinking*.... Oooh! Here's a thought! Make a challenge in the dimension he went to in order, gag, to have more fun! Challenges are usually entertaining if you make sure they don't get out of hand. The most fun challenge that he could think of was make something like the elements of harmony in whatever dimension he chose but, you know, make them less "we can turn Discord into stone so ha!" kind of way. This was turning into a full, thought out, planned plan! Wait, what? He had to stop thinking about this and start doing it or else he would become completely predictable by the end of the millennium!
Discord then continued to set buckets of green slime over the ridiculously large doors leading to the throne room, make the closest bathroom run chocolate milk instead of water, put a whoopee cushion on both Celestia and Luna's throne, make the stained-glass windows all show him in different poses, put a spell on the door that made everything that went through change into invert colors, color everything in the room red, and set up a video camera at a corner of the room, all while chuckling to himself. A black Celestia and white Luna farting in the new red throne room covered in green slime and possibly chocolate milk if they tried to wash themselves off, fuming at beautiful works of art on camera. This would be the greatest prank he made until he got to the new dimension!
Let's go through a basic sum up of what has happened to this alternate Earth since Discord got there, shall we?
So once Discord made the portal, he jumped through with a huge grin on his face looking as giddy as a school boy. The portal on Earth was located in Atlanta, Georgia. Once he got there, not wanting to have to fight the national guard and all that, made every human being on the face of the planet into their gray counterparts, not including those 10 people who he gave powers to so that he could make the portal and get a challenge and all that.
Humans are, for the most part, hard working but weak compared to the other sentient life forms out there. We are also not grey. We need to eat and drink to get energy to do anything. And we are generally pretty smart and don't kill each for no good reason, just for land and nuclear bombs and etc. What is the opposite of the average human then? Most people were turned into really really stupid, grey, extremely hostile to everything but nature (not human or whatever the grey human counterparts are), strong, disgusting troll-like creatures. Kinda like orks in Lord of the Rings, except more stupid, fat, and strong. Oh, and they don't eat meat, or anything else for that matter. Discord+chaos magic+homo sapiens=all of the above. All previously stated parties will henceforth be referred to as "troll", not including the 10 OC's that are this story's protagonists.
Now there are 7 billion human beings on Earth today. Think about it. Seven billion people turned troll all controlled by Discord, who is probably going to tell them to all kill those 10 people. That's a little less then a billion extremely strong troll like things going after one guy times 10. Humanity's last ten guys have about one billion really stupid and strong people going after each of them, and they don't even know how to use their powers yet! Humanity is screwed.
So now you probably want to know what happened with those 10 people who are awesome now, right? Well then hold your horses I still gotta talk to ya, author to reader.
First off, everyone who got their powers from Discord are now immortal, as in they will not die by any means what so ever, well, besides the end of the world. They can get hurt, still feel pain, can be weakened, and can be imprisoned, but you can't do much more than that to them. Just a nice little bonus for them. Second is that all of these guys have a superpower that no other human being possesses. This includes anything that once was human. Lastly is that none of them know this. For all they know only the area within a 10 mile radius has been affected by Discord. They don't even know who Discord is, unless they're a brony, but even then they don't even know that he's real! They also don't know that they have literally all the time in the world to do whatever they want or that they have powers, they just have to discover them through circumstance or however they find out that they have powers. Understand? We all good? Okay, on with the story!

Um. So I just start then? Alright. Hello. I'm Stephen. If you're trying to put a image in your head for what I look like, I'm a 45-year old, white as snow, southern Canadian guy who can fly so fast that I can break the sound-barrier; I have a max of 3 times on the same day. I should probably go back about 10 years to when I just got that ability. Sure could have used it but, you know, knowledge is power and I didn't quite have that knowledge. I'm rambling again, sorry. Now, back we go.

So I was sitting on the couch watching Hockey when it happened. Oh yeah, I was a big hockey fan at 35. Anyway, when it happened, my wife was in her room doing something that I have never found out. She's a beautiful blondie, well, beautiful to me anyway. The moment right between this normal life that I wouldn't change if I could and total chaos was the biggest event man-kind will ever experience. I bet he'd like that, me thinking that it was total chaos, that stupid tall skinny sonofa...I'm not gonna continue that train of thought.
So my wife that I adored, still adore, turned into a disgusting freak of nature from what I could tell at the time. I was still watching T.V. when I heard grunting and moaning so I thought there was something wrong, which of course there was. I went upstairs to make sure there wasn't to find my wife had a new look. My reaction was one you could probably expect, I threw up. If you have ever seen one of those trolls then you would understand and if you haven't, then you could probably understand anyway.
There was no way that it was fake or some kind of joke so I panicked. I didn't think it was my wife for obvious reasons. I was frozen right up to the point where she/it ran toward me. Thankfully for me I was closer to the bathroom door than it was to me. I jumped in and kicked the door back while on my back. That thing wasn't smart enough to figure out how to open the door, but I didn't know that and rushed up to my feet and locked it. If I was in my right state of mind right then I probably would have hid in the closet, but I just sat on the toilet breathing heavily trying to figure out what had just happened. I didn't know what to think. How could that thing have existed, let alone wind up in my wife's bedr-... Where was my wife?
Right when that occurred to me the door broke down. Me, in all my brilliance, threw some toilet paper at it. That thing roared with spittle flying out of it's mouth. Some of that landed in my eye! It burned like the fires of hell! Somehow I still managed to throw another roll at the thing. This time the paper stuck to the thing's slimy, slobbery face. It couldn't figure out why it couldn't see and just ran in circles roaring at the universe. Then I ran for the bedroom. I had to find my wife then call the police or animal control or something. I looked through a pretty good portion considering I couldn't make a sound without that thing running straight for me before it managed to get back to the room.
I somehow thought that the best option would be to jump out the window and try to climb down the tree that was next to it. What I didn't know was that those things could jump better than a leap frog if they really wanted to. Hearing me open the window it ran like a pro straight for me. I jumped in time for it to barely miss my foot and landed in the tree after being smacked by multiple branches before one didn't break under me. Thinking I was clear, I started to move down the tree at a leisurely pace as the troll backed away from the window. Thinking it went back inside to do whatever it wanted to do, I continued slowly. If I were the same person that day as I am today, that troll would have been dead approximately 0.000584 seconds after it had appeared, but as I was, the thing that use to be my wife almost killed me. Jumping out of the window, it managed to break every single branch on the tree, including the one I was clinging to.
I decided that without anything to hide behind nearby, it would be best to run for it. There was no way I was gonna fight that thing, I wouldn't even touch it unless I absolutely had to. I'm pretty sure that after I would have I'd get H1N1 and tons of other diseases. After getting up with a grunt, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I didn't know at the time that those trolls were about 50% faster than the average human use to be, nor did I know that I was faster than a jet. I ran with little knowledge or power. The troll thingy started to gain on me after about fifteen seconds of running, mostly because the thing could hardly get up from being so fat. The bigger they are the harder they fall I guess.
I started to panic a bit more before I made myself calm down despite the adrenaline pumping through my veins. At that point I figured that the only chance I had at out running that thing was if I went with agility. With that in mind I started to knock trash cans over behind me, zigzag, and do anything else that that thing would have a hard time getting through quickly. The good news was that it worked; the bad news was that there were about a dozen more trolls in front of me when I lost the first one.
