Tales of a Madpony With a Box
A Warm Welcome
Load Full StoryNext ChapterA Warm Welcome
The TARDIS flew freely trough space, clumsily hitting the sides of asteroids and space junk. A fresh stream of smoke billowed from the back of the blue call box as it darted around, seemingly uncontrolled.
"you stupid machine, start working for once! If not we'll crash into some unknown planet an be stranded there!" The TARDIS, ignoring the Doctors cry for help, sped on, down towards a big blue planet, not unlike earth.
"Damnit, TARDIS! Do you even hear me!?" the Doctor yelled, his hands zipping around the control panel, pressing random buttons. He didn't know what he was pressing, only that it might help.
"Oh for g-" __________________________
The Doctor awoke outside the TARDIS, looking up at the beautiful sun... an abnormally large beautiful sun.
"Wher- where am I? Definitely not earth... maybe something like it? Very peculiar indeed."
The Doctor put his hands on the ground to lift himself up. After this attempt he fell on his rump, startled.
"Ah! Well, that was not what I was expecting. It seems I can't stand up." the Doctor lifted his hands up to see... "Wha- well I'm never going to un-see that! I have hooves! Hooves instead of hands! I hope I'm not a centaur, that would be hard to undo. It doesn't seem like I regenerated though... that's a good thing! Speaking of regeneration, let's have a look a the rest of me... aside from the hooves."
The Doctor cast a curious eye over the rest of himself.
"Hooves, chestnut coat. Not a female, I can tell by the snout. Hair... or wait... mane, brown, still not a ginger, blast. An this peculiar thing on my butt, an hourglass? Strange indeed."
After about a minute of looking around, the Doctor remembered something rather... Important.
"The TARDIS, where are you!? Don't tell me you've gone missing again, that would be a trouble!"
Sure enough, the TARDIS was right behind him.
"Ah, there you are my girl! You know, I'm not a fan of this equine business, do you mind if we leave?"
The Doctor tried the door, until he realized he had hooves. He stared at his hooves for a second before attempting to buck down the door with his front legs. His legs bounced off as though the TARDIS didn't want to let him in.
"Blast, I guess I could try my hind legs. There should be more force in using the-"
"Ummm... mister, I saw your house fall from the sky... so I came over to see what happened. But you were talking to yourself... so I didn't want to interrupt..." A mares voice said from just outside the clearing that the Doctor and the TARDIS were in.
"Hello, do I know you? I'm the Doctor, the timey-wimey traveller of stuffness! Who might you be?
The mare of witch had been previously talking to the Doctor exited the clearing. She had a grey coat, a yellowish-blond mane, and a peculiar eye disorder.
"Ummm... I'm Ditzy Doo, fellow citizen of equestria." The mare said, still puzzling over the Doctors strange way of speaking.
"I wouldn't say "fellow" citizen. Speaking of, you said equestria, as in a planet of horses? A strange name I might add, where is the nearest settlement?"
"Nearest settle-whatnow?" the gray pony asked, genuinely puzzled as to what a "settlement" was. "Ummm, also, equesria is a continent of ponies, not a planet of horses.
"Fine take me to the nearest village... I guess. Still find a planet, or, continet of equines to be rather odd."
"Sure, you mean umm... Ponyville, right?" Ditzy said, tilting her head to the side to make a point.
"Okay then companion, off to Ponyville! Pfft, thats a terrible name."
"What is?"
"Oh, nothing, nothing just keep leading on companion."
"Please don't call me "companion",
We've hardly even met."
"I know Ditzy, but, there's bound to be something bad going on here, and I'll need a companion then!"
"You're a really weird pony..."
" I'd like to be referred to as "stallion" not "pony" pony implies that I am a mare, which I am not."
"Ummm..."
"Or you can just call me "Doctor" or "the Doctor" or "Timelord" or "Wanderer" or "Madman with a box"
Does that seem fair compani- I mean Ditzy, it's Ditzy right? Yes,Ditzy Doo! I'm terrible with names, so bear with me, okay?"
"Ummm...okay... but don't you mean "Madpony" with a box."
"Madpony... Hahaha! That's terrible, absolutely terrible, hahaha. Come on, who makes these names?"
"Doctor, quiet down you embarrassing me!"
"What, how am I embarrassing you?!"
"I'm just worried the ponies in Ponyville can hear us!"
"That's ridiculous, were too far away from any settlement for them to hear us." There was an awkward silence before the Doctor said. "Allons-y" and began to gallop off.
"Doctor slow down! You don't know where you're going!" Ditzy yelled to the chestnut stallion, "Doctor! Wait up!"
The grey pegasus spread her wings open and sped forward to catch up with the Doctor, when she got to him she said.
"Doctor, don't just run off like that! You could have been going in the opposite direction!"
"But I wasn't!" the doctor responded, without making eye contact with the mare. He then looked over and came to a sudden halt. Ditzy, on the other hand didn't stop and instead hit face-first into a tree a meter or so away.
"You never told me you had wings!" the doctor yelped gleefully nag ran over to the flabbergasted mare. "That makes you a... um... pegasus, right? And if there's pegasi here, that means there may be unicorns!!! Are there unicorns here?!?!"
"You made me hit face-first into a tree!"
"So? You have wings! I can't believe I missed them before! There so obvious!"
"Doctor."
"So are there unicorns here!?"
"Umm... Doctor."
"Not now Ditzy, can you answer my question?"
"DOCTOR!"
"Arrrgghh, what is it Ditzy?!"
"Were here..."
The Doctor turned around, and sure enough, there was a large crowd of ponies gathered around to view the odd spectacle.
"Oh, hello I'm the Doctor, are there unicorns on this planet.
The crowd of ponies began to laugh. Puzzled, the Doctor turned to Ditzy."
"Was it some thing I said?"
"Of course there are unicorns on this planet feather-brain! Stop acting like you came from another planet."
"Really!? There are unicorns here!?"
"Umm... yes."
"Amazing!!!" the Doctor said, immediately, he scanned the crowd for any unicorns, not spotting any, he pushed his way through the crowd before seeing a mint-green unicorn mare.
"Hahaha! A unicorn!" the Doctor said as he galloped towards the mare. "Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! A unicorn! I never thought id see the day where there where unicorns but boy, I WAS SO WRONG!!! Hahaha, amazing a unicorn horn! Does it work? Lift something up!"
The mint-green mare obeyed a lifted up a stone using magic.
"Fantastic! Do it agai-"
A grey hoof pulled him away from the trembling unicorn. Seeing her chance, the unicorn fled the exact opposite direction of the Doctor.
"Doctor, what was that for!? You're embarrassing me!"
"Oh, uh... sorry Ditzy, I guess I got a bit carried away there."
"A BIT?!?!"
"Well... more like a lot. But I can explain!"
"I really need to teach you about this world, you don't fit in one bit.
"That's pretty normal actually" the Doctor put on the most innocent face he could muster.
"You're coming with me!"
"Why where are we going?"
"Someplace else... where you can't embarrass me."
"Ok then, Allons-y!"
