Prophet's entire ancestry was filled with the pure blood of Pegasi, and every single one joined the Royal Guard at some point in their lives. However, no matter how much pain staking training he went through, his body remained frail and meek. Deciding normal training wasn't working, he decided to seek out other means of being strong. Young Prophet finds a mare named Zacora and she teaches him the ways of inner magic. Some may be fearful if they realized his power, and after learning this technique, it gives him a special ability.

He could never exactly explain his special gift. It was much like an intensified instinct that told him where to go, when to be there, and most of all, that Equestria's future depended on him being in the Royal Guard. However, what he doesn't expect is that his future may just reside on him being in the Royal Guard as well.

I wasn't exactly sure about the Adventure and Slice of Life tags. Adventure has world altering events, but with the outcome of those events staying the same from the show, I went with Slice of Life, specifically because we are mainly dealing with Prophet and his life.
