PROLOGUE A.K.A Why is Nightmare Moon Ruler???

The Mane 6 ran up the steps of Canterlot Castle. Princess Celestia of Equestria had requested that they come to the castle as soon as possible. So of course Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia's student, teleported them there as soon as they gathered at Golden Oaks Library. After shaking off the slight nausea and dizziness they had received from teleporting so far, they ran/flew/bounced toward Canterlot Castle.

"Ugh! You guys move sooooooooooo slllllllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwww!" said Rainbow Dash, turning around for the umpteenth time, her cyan wings flapping in a constant beat.

"Well RD not all of us are pegusi like ya and Fluttershy." said AppleJack.

"So? Twi could have teleported us all Applejack!"

"No, I couldn't have because there is some kind of magical inhibitor making it highly impossible for anyone but the Princess to teleport in here!" said Twilight

"Now Rainbow, its not Twilight's fault. You just need to be patient.....if you like" said Fluttershy

"Shy I am being patient! They are just going as SLOW AS THEY CAN!!!" said Rainbow, her unruly rainbow hair bobbing as she spoke.

"C'mon Dashie!" said Pinkie Pie, bouncing up the steps as they approached the hall of memories, "We're almost there, see!"

"Whatever Pinkie, I just hope this isn't over something stupid."

"Of course it isn't stupid! I sure whatever the Princess wants to tell us is of utmost importance!" said Twilight.

"I must agree with Twilight on this one darlings. Normally when the Princess wants to talk to us its over the well-being of Equestria!" said Rarity, pulling a mirror out and checking her hair.

The guards pushed the doors open and closed them once the girls had entered the hall. The room seemed darker, quite the contrast from the normally bright and cheery room. When they didn't see Princess Celestia or her young adviser Philomena they began to worry.

"Hello?" asked Twilight, cautiously, "Princess? Philomena? Anyone here?"

"Told you it would be something stupid." muttered Rainbow.

A dark laughter filled the hall, "I believe this hardly counts as stupid."

"Who's there? I ain't scared of you! Show yourself!" Rainbow shouted, her wings spread as she jabbed at the air.

"Tch, tch, tch temper Ms. Dash temper."

"Temper my A-" Rainbow was cut off when Fluttershy glared at her, "Adidas!"

Twilight started to gather her magic in her hands, "Who are you?"

"I'll give you a hint," said the voice, "I was at the Summer Sun Celebration that brought you all together."

"The Summer Sun Celebration? That was when I was trying to convice the Princess that Nightmare Moon was returning. Nightmare Moon was returning..... Oh no..."

Fluttershy moved to hide behind Pinkie, who hid behind AppleJack, "Oh my!"

All of a sudden a purple fog started to overtake the room. Rainbow tried hard to keep it away from the six of them by flapping her wings, but it seemed the harder she flapped the closer the it came. Fluttershy was the first to fall down, asleep. Then came Pinkie, followed by Rarity. AppleJack had pulled her bandana over her nose so she could stay awake longer but a few minutes after Rarity fell asleep she started to sway until finally she collapsed on the ground.

Rainbow's wings hurt from slapping so hard and her jaw ached from clenching her teeth, But I can't stop...... Can't stop.... can't.......... stop......... can....... Thud.

Twilight was the only one left standing, barely. Her magic had faded away awhile ago and whatever was in this gas was something she shouldn't inhale more than a little of at a time. Her legs started to wobble and her eyes started to droop. She fell down on the floor, her eyes blinking at a slow pace. Just before everything faded to black she saw someone walked towards her. Someone bent over and touched her neck, said something and then it all went dark.
