Chapter 2 - Finding Unlikely Things in Unusual Places
Chapter 2 Finding Unlikely Things in Unusual Places
Given that I had no where else to go, I decided to tag along. But, something was wrong; one of my friends had gone missing. I thought she had been following me the whole time, but she must have fallen behind. I wanted to look for her, but the Doctor said that it would be best to stick together. When we came into the treasure room again, the creature was gone. I’m not entirely sure how he did it, but the Doctor used a magic “screwdriver” (as he called it) to turn on some lights. I asked how he did it, but all he said was more gibberish, something like “the aircraft’s central controls are wired through the heart of the pyramid. All that the power terminal needed was a kick-start of sonic energy” what ever that is supposed to mean. With all the lights, it made it a lot easier to search the place. All the treasure in the room was highly interesting. Most of it was Egyptian in nature, but some of it wasn’t. As we searched for clues, I began to notice more and more artifacts out of place. Saddle Arabian rugs? Early Native Equestrian arrow heads? These artifacts were from all around the world! How in all the lands of Equestria and beyond did they get these?!
Before I had time to ponder the question, the purple unicorn found something, something terrible. It was my friend’s saddle bag. She never went anywhere without it. It was covered with sand and what looked to be…was that mummy wrappings? At this I was appalled, and maybe even more than that. I was terrified. With tears welling up in my eyes, I looked at the purple mare beside me and asked “Why would any pony do this?”
“I don’t know. But I promise, we’ll help you find your friend and get to the bottom of this. Right Doctor?”
“Quite right Twilight. Now, let’s see.” He pulled out his screwdriver and waved it around as it made strange whirling noises. The sounds got loader and faster as he pointed toward the north side of the room. “This way then.” He announced with a smile. I glanced at him and asked “Excuse me, but how exactly do you know where to go?” He simply put a hoof over my mouth and said “Ah Pah Pah Pah, don’t question the Sonic.”
As we approached the north side, we discovered more sand and wrappings leading down the hall. We also found something rather interesting along with them. Tracks. Diamond dog in nature. Maybe this wasn’t so mysterious after all. Maybe some diamond dogs just tunneled in and found the treasure. Maybe they took her. The Doctor wasn’t to sure though. He didn’t say anything, but I could see it in his eyes. He seemed like a young pony to me, but his eyes….they were so old…..so full of hope….and yet so sad. He’d clearly seen so much in his life, so many places, so many things. I wondered where he’d come from, what he’d seen, what brought him here.
We walked through the hall into a great throne room. The Doctor waved around his “Sonic Screwdriver” and turned on all the lights. Then Mira ran over to me and hugged me. I’m not ashamed to say it brought a few tears to my eyes. I pulled her off me and looked her in the eye, saying in a serious tone, “Are you alright? Are you hurt in any way?” She looked at me like I was the crazy one and tilted her head to one side, saying “Hurt? No. Why would I be?”

Chapter 1 - Stuck in the Tombs with a Couple of Mad Ponies
We were completely overjoyed to have found the tomb. As we entered it however, the door behind us slammed shut. My assistants and I were trapped with nothing but the glow of our torch and the sound of our hooves. We were alone in the dark, or so we thought. We could hear what sounded like wind blowing and a small bit of light; we thought that it was maybe an escape route, however it wasn't. When we reached the sound, we didn't find an exit, we found a box; a big blue box. Beside it were two ponies, a purple unicorn and a brown earth pony. The earth pony wasn't making any sense, something about an interdimetional distress signal and a subspace frequency that the tardis picked up. I will ever understand earth ponies or unicorns, especially ones that hide in boxes. I decided to let them find their own way out.
As we walked, we found many doors, all of them sealed shut. There were all covered in ancient equine hieroglyphs. I couldn't make out what they said in the dim light; all that I could see was the symbol for Ramesses on one side of the hall and the symbol for Anubis on the other. That was strange to me because you never saw Ramesses and Anubis tombs in the same place. As we exited the hall, we came into a very large area; it was full of treasures and historical artifacts. However, there was defiantly something wrong with this place. I couldn't figure it out until I looked up. When I did, I saw a pair of glowing red eyes and a jaw full of teeth looking down at me. At that moment, I only had one thought flew through my head, RUN! And that’s exactly what we did. We didn't even know what we were running from, but it didn't matter, all that mattered to me was making sure my friends and I weren't eaten or something. I’m not sure why we ran towards the blue box, something inside me just said that it was the safest place to be. When we finally reached it, I was scared out of my wits. I was babbling like a big idiot, which didn't normally happen. Usually, I was very calm when faced with conflict. But, when you are in my profession, you don’t usually find live creatures, especially in a tomb that had been locked for over 1000 years!
Did I mention that the earth pony was crazy? Well, now that I think about it, he wasn't just crazy, HE WAS INSANE!!! After telling him everything that I knew, including the old pony’s tale, he didn't try to help find an escape, no, HE WENT LOOKING FOR THE CREATURE!!!
