Hearth's Warming Tales
Applejack & Apple Bloom
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Apple Bloom! Get those apples!! C'mon we need double the apples around now!! Don't forget that we are using half of the harvest as Tree Ornaments this year!!" Applejack said with a sigh. She continued carrying her own bucket of the past harvest's apples, and she noticed for the fist time that Apple Bloom was not falling behind, but in fact doing an amazing job, but she seemed overworked. The orange pony's face dropped after noticing her little sister sweating bullets, red faced, trying to carry a bucket of apples as big as she was. "Apple Bloom, I'm sorry" she said apologetically, feeling a bit worn out herself, Applejack suggested "How about we take a moment to to stroll around the Acres and see how the decorations are looking?"
"Sounds good" muttered the tuckered out little filly.
As the two strolled around the saw the snow-coated trees covered in with strings of fireflies captured in tiny little colored jars, the barn adorned with ropes of garland nailed to the overhangs of the roof. As the two entered the barn they were greeted by an enormous pine tree, with red and green apples hung half way up the tree, am obvious sign that the girls really should be carrying buckets of apples, "But we're plum tuckered out, we'll get back to it in a few minutes" replied Applejack when Big Macintosh asked why she wasn't working. Also in the barn was tinsel, miles of it, hung all around, and wreaths in all the windows.
In the house, there weren't many decorations at all, a wreath adorning the frosty kitchen window, a small tree for the presents from Tinsel Claus in the living room, coated with plain red ornaments, and that was it. Then the girls saw Granny Smith carrying the best part of it all, the tree-topper, it weighed two pounds, made of silver, fashioned into a wing, a hoof, and a horn, symbolizing the three types of ponies, and heart carved into the middle connecting all three, displaying the friendship that had brought Equestria into existence.
"Well, Apple Bloom, it's time to get back to work I reckon, everything looks great."
