Glitter Sparkle: Full Origin Story

Ruby Sparkle, Celestia's eldest son, was up in his bedchamber, playing his XBUCK ONE. He then looked over at the crib that was for the new member of the family, smiling. Ruby had an orange coat and a silver, shiny mane that flowed like his mother's. He also a black fur around his eyes, kind of like a raccoon mask. This indicates a male alicorn. Ruby was very excited when he found out he was going to be a brother. So excited that he agreed with his mother to share his bedchamber with it until it was old enough to have its own. Also, he had been foal-sitting for other ponies to learn how to take care of a foal. Celestia had been pregnant for almost 8 and a half months. There was only one thing he didn't know: was it a filly or a colt? Celestia, and his aunt, Luna, both knew what it was, but decided not to tell him. They wanted it to be a surprise to him. He wanted a younger brother, because he had no one to play with. Now, Ruby was 413 years old, and if you were an only child for that long, would you get lonely?

"Ruby!". Ruby heard his mother call his name.

"Yes, Mother?"

"Please come here", Celestia said. He paused the game and walked into his mother's bedchamber. Celestia was sitting in her mini-sofa in a very relaxed state with her hooves on her large belly. Ruby smiled.

"Hey, Mom", Ruby said, "What's up?" He walked closer to his mother and sat down next to her.

"Nothing. I just wanted to spend time with you. Were you busy?"

"No. Just playing my video game". Celestia smiled and hugged Ruby. Ruby loved the cuddling. It made him feel so warm. Ruby and Celestia hugged for a while. Then, Ruby heard what sounded like a hoof slamming into a glass bowl, then a loud crunching sound. Ruby looked up at Celestia, who was munching on salty potato crisps. Ruby chuckled lightly.

"What?", Celestia said.

"You're getting cravings again", Ruby said back. Celestia rolled her eyes and swallowed the crisps.

"Well it's not my fault". She rubbed her belly. "This little bun in my oven has been giving me weird cravings".

"Hmph. Is that why I saw you eating hay fries covered in chocolate?"

"Yep. And I'll tell you from that experience that salty chocolate is really good".

"That's gross. So..." He rubbed Celestia's belly. "I wonder if I'll have a brother".

"Well, Me and Luna both know".

"Yeah, and you two won't tell me!"

"I know, I know. We just want it to be a surprise to you, sweetie". Celestia's stomach rumbled lightly, making her blush.

"Do you have another craving?"

"Yes".

"What do you want? I'll go get it".

"Can you please go get me a slice of chocolate cake from the kitchen?"

"Sure". Ruby went downstairs to the kitchen. While Celestia waited, she looked down at her chubby belly and rubbed it.

"I hope you are ready to come out soon. Your big brother in anxious to see you". Ruby returned with a big slice of chocolate cake.

"Here you go" He hoofed the cake to Celestia.

"Thank you, Ruby" She gobbled the whole slice of cake in 10 seconds. She burped loudly and then washed the cake down with another hoofful of potato crisps. Ruby laughed again.

"Yeah. You have serious cravings". Celestia swallowed the crisps and laughed, too. The two hugged again. Then, Celestia felt a kick and then felt a certain wetness down by her hind legs. She started to breathe heavy. Ruby immediately noticed this. "What's wrong?!"

"My water just broke! It's coming!!!" Ruby jumped off the couch.

"OK. Do you think you can still fly?!" Celestia shook her head, then started to squirm lightly. Ruby ran downstairs and approached two of the Pegasus Royal Guards. "Guards! Mom's water just broke! The foal's ready to come out!!!. We need you to fly the Royal Carriage to the Canterlot Hospital!!" Both guards saluted and connected to the carriage. Ruby ran back upstairs and walked Celestia downstairs to the carriage. Both got into the carriage and the guards started to fly the carriage to the hospital. While they flew, Ruby held his mother's hoof. Celestia kept breathing heavy.

"Ruby! It hurts!! I don't know if I can do it!!!!"

"Calm down, Mom. Breathe slowly!" Celestia tried to breathe slowly. She did and started to feel better. "How do you feel?"

"A little better. Ugh... are we almost there?" The carriage came to a stop and the two alicorns jumped out. Ruby got a stretcher and Celestia laid on it. Ruby pushed it into the building and approached the front desk.

"My mother is in labor!!! Help her!!" However, an elderly mare pushed them out of the way.

"Excuse me, Sonny", she said, "I was in front of you. You need to take a number and get in line like everypony else".

"YOU SHUT UP AND MOVE BEFORE I GIVE YOU A NUMBER... OF BEATINGS!!!!!!", Celestia yelled, squirming violently. The elderly mare had a pure look of fear on her face and simply sat down. The mare behind the desk immediately pressed a red button.

"EMERGENCY!!!", she yelled, "WE HAVE A PREGNANT MARE READY TO GIVE BIRTH!!!!!! Two nurses took over the stretcher and pushed Celestia into a room.

Ruby waited outside the room, pacing back and forth the floor. It was time. He was going to be a brother.

"OK, Princess. You need to push!" Ruby pressed his ear against the door. He heard many sounds.

First, this: "Push!!!"

Next, this: "AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

Then, this: "Whaaaaaaaa!!!!!!"

And finally, the sound he was waiting for for nearly a year: "It's a colt!!!!"

"YES!YES!YES!YES!", Ruby kept saying, hopping around in a circle. The doors finally opened and one of the nurses came out.

"Prince Sparkle", she said, "You may come in now" Without hesitating, he walked into the room. He looked over at the bed, seeing his mother holding her foal in her hooves. Celestia looked up at Ruby and smiled.

"Come here, Ruby", she said, "Your brother is waiting to see you". Ruby smiled and walked over to the bed and sat down in the chair next to it. He couldn't see the foal at that moment. It was wrapped in a blue wool blanket. "Ruby, what you've always wanted is in my hooves right now. Ruby, your little brother!". She showed the foal to Ruby. The foal opened its eyes and looked at the orange pony in front of it. The foal smiled. Ruby smiled as well. The foal had a dark green coat, a gold, shiny mane, and brown eyes. And, of course, the black raccoon-like fur around his eyes.

"Hey, little bro", Ruby said, "I'm your big brother, Ruby". The foal smiled again. He looked at Celestia. "So, have you named it yet?"

"I was thinking... Glitter. Glitter Sparkle. What do you think?"

"I like it". He looked at the foal again. "Do you like the name, little bro?" The colt squealed in joy. "I'll take that as a yes. Glitter Sparkle it is". One of the nurses came back in.

"Excuse me, Princess", she said, "The birth certificate needs to be filled out".

"I got it", Ruby said. Glitter whined lightly. "Don't worry, Glitter. I'll be right back" He ruffled Glitter's mane, making him smile. Ruby and the nurse went into the other room to fill out the paperwork, leaving Celestia and Glitter to themselves. Celestia looked at the foal, who was staring and looking around at his first sights in the new world. Glitter then buried his face into his mother's coat, enjoying a warmth and softness. Celestia hugged Glitter softly.

"You are so adorable, Glitter. Just like your brother". The foal looked up at Celestia and smiled. Celestia kissed Glitter on his cheek, making him squeal in joy. Ruby returned with the birth certificate.

"Signed and sealed", he said. He placed the paper on the bed and looked at his brother. Glitter held his hooves out to Ruby.

"I think he wants you to hold him", Celestia said. Ruby smiled and sat down in the chair next to the bed. Celestia carefully started to levitate Glitter to Ruby. Glitter started to whimper and shake. He was frightened.

"Don't worry, little bro", Ruby said, "I got you. You're OK" He gently grabbed Glitter and laid him in his lap. Glitter was about to cry. He was still very scared. Ruby began to cradle Glitter very lightly. "Shh... Don't cry. You're OK". Ruby stopped cradling and began to lightly rub Glitter's stomach. Glitter snuggled into Ruby's coat, then looked back up at him, smiling. Glitter held his hooves up to Ruby. Celestia knew what he wanted.

"I think he wants to touch your face", she said. Ruby smiled.

"Does little Glitter want to touch my face?" Glitter made a babbling noise and stretched to reach. "OK, OK" Ruby lowered his face to Glitter's level. Glitter started lightly rubbing and prodding Ruby's muzzle. Ruby smiled again. Then, Glitter licked Ruby's cheek. Ruby was surprised and looked down at Glitter, who was smiling. Celestia chuckled lightly.

"Aww... He loves you" A tear of joy ran down Ruby's face.

"I love you too, Glitz", he said. He kissed Glitter on his muzzle, making him squeal in joy again. Ruby gave Glitter back to Celestia. Glitter yawned loudly and buried his face into Celestia's coat, falling asleep. Ruby looked at his brother, who was sleeping peacefully and smiled. "Somepony was sleepy"

"Yep. OK, let's go home". Celestia slowly got out of the bed and put Glitter on her back. The two walked outside into the Royal Carriage. "Do you want to hold him while he sleeps?" Ruby nodded. Celestia carefully levitated Glitter into Ruby's lap. Ruby looked down at his sleeping brother and smiled. As the carriage flew off, Ruby was thinking about all the stuff he was going to do when he got home. He couldn't wait!
