Fear of the moon

“Come on Celestia, do your worst, I’m waiting.” She just stood there staring at her. “Come on, I’m waiting.” Agony kept taunting her, but she continued to do nothing. “No? Any pony ells want to attack?” The others did the same. “Pathetic, to think that any of you posed as an actual threat,” As Agony stepped down from the alter a purple mist appeared from the gem on her necklace. It flew from the gem and stopped in front of Celestia, it then began to change into a solid form.

“How?” as the mist shifted its form became more clear and eventually turned into a single pony.

“Twilight!” the others yelled as the raced towards her.

“What happened to you?”

“It’s a long story, I’ll explain later.

“How,” Agony started stumbling back up to the altar. “How did you escape the black forest? No pony ever escapes!”

“I had help from a pony that was locked away years ago.” Twilight replied. Just then a second cloud of mist appeared and landed next to her. It started the change form as well and turned into the young filly.

“You! How?! This isn’t possible!”

“You might as well give up now Agony, you just lost!” Twilight demanded.

“That’s what you think! I still have your power, which means I’m still strong!”

“That might be true, but it’s eleven against one, you don’t stand a chance.” Agony rolled her eyes and covered the room with the black ooze again.

“Twilight,” she faced Celestia. “Be careful, this is her strongest attack.” Twilight nodde her head then turned back.

“You should stand down now while you still have the chance.”

“…No”

“…Fine, I warned you, but oh well.” She pulled all the black towards her and readied herself, Twilight stood her ground, and without any hesitation, Agony unleashed all the magic, Twilight instantly pulled up a shield and the beam curved around her and hit the wall behind her.

“Well played,” Agony responded with a sarcastic tone.

“Is that the best you can do?”

“Sadly, yes. But look on the bright side, I can do it as much as I want.” She lifted her horn and used the spell again, this time she didn’t have to take back all the darkness, she just pointed her horn at Twilight and unleashed all the magic, since Twilight was distracted she didn’t have time to shield herself so she jumped out of the way and the beam shot right past her.

“Congratulations little Ms. twinkle hooves, you aren’t dead”

“How did you do that, I thought you had to-“

“You can do anything when your powerful.” And again with no warning she used the spell again, Twilight dodge it but it managed to hit her tail.

“Ha! Got you this time!” she started laughing, but yelped as she was hit by a beam of magic.

“Who did that!?”

“I did.” Shining armor walked up and stood next to Twilight.

“Oh, I remember you.”

“Excuse me?” he replied in confusion.

“Wow, it’s only been a few years…How could you forget me?!”

“Do you really know her?” Twilight asked.

“Of course he knows me, he used to date me.”

“He did what?” Cadence asked in confusion. “He used to do what now?”

“Your husband, used to date me. He was nice, until he figured out that I was a fan of Nightmare Moon-”

“I swear I’ve never met her before in my life!” He interrupted. Some of the others tried not to laugh, while the others seemed to be disappointed.

“Right, what was I talking about again?”

“Something about lowering the moon?” Twilight interrupted attempting to fool her.

“Funny, you weren’t even close to fooling me but funny, oh right now I remember.” She used her magic and levitated all four of the princess into the air.

“I was just about to kill y6ou four so I could take rule over Equestria.” She casted the spell again, and just when it was about to hit them, Discord reappeared and teleported them away.

“What the?!”

“Good evening , Ms…whoever you are”

“Discord, why are you here?”

“Oh I’m just trying to help my friends.”

“And they told you to help them?”

“That’s a little insulting you know,” in a quick flash of light he appeared behind her.”But now that I think of it they could have told me to save them, and by that I mean those ponies over there could have sent me a letter telling me to save them.”  Agony quickly turned around and slashed her horn at him, but he disappeared the instant she started moving.

“Ooohh, some pony is cranky.”

“Shut up you twisted freak.”

“Sticks and stones may break my bones but-“ he grunted as he was shot out of the air and landed head first on the ground.”Names will never hurt me.” He continued while dazed.

“You about done?” Discord started getting up.

“Not quite,” Discord snapped his claw and a small army of royal guards appeared. “I forgot to mention, I went back to canter lot to get some back up.”

“So Agony,” Twilight interrupted. “You ready to give up now? Since right now it’s a hundred against one.” Agony started laughing.

“Do you honestly think that a few Pegasus guards are going to stop me?” She continued laughing then at random she tripped and fell to the ground, she looked down at her hooves and saw a ring of yellow magic binding them together, she looked up and saw ten unicorn guards standing at the back of the room.

“Oh, I see,” She stood up and removed the magic bindings. “Ok you might have brighten an army with you, but it’s still no match,” her voice started changing. She raised her horn and a dim light started glowing, some of the guards started charging towards her, but when they got close the turned into smoke and flew into her necklace. She lowered her horn and eyes started glowing purple.

“You should know by now that you can’t win,” the unicorn guards teleported to the front of the room and got ready to cast the shield spell. “You’re nothing compared to me, your weak compared to me,” She lifted her horn again and this time half the Pegasus guards disappeared. “Your all WEAK! You have no right to rule this kingdom!” and using the spell one last time the rest of the guards disappeared.

“Stop!” Celestia yelled as if she was in pain. “You can’t do this!”

“Silence!” Agony yelled. “I’ve had enough of this! You will all parish!”

“No!” the younger agony yelled. She ran in front of all the others, and when Agony attack she drew it towards her, she was then sent flying to the back of the stone room.

“Agony!” Twilight yelled as she raced towards her.

“Twilight, what did you say?” Rainbow asked as she followed her.

“This is Agony,”

“Wait, what?”

“But, if that’s Agony then who’s she?”

“I’m her, or at least I used to be, now that she is no longer part of me, I’m my own pony, from now on I  truly am Nightmare Agony.” She laughed manically. Twilight started crying as the younger Agony’s breath started slowing.

“Twilight-“ she groaned

“…Agony, are you ok?”

“I’m cold.” She continued.

“It’s ok, I promise you you’ll be fine.” She started crying more.

“No, I won’t be.”

“Agony, please just don’t give up.”

“It’s ok-“ she interrupted. “I know I won’t make it, I wasn’t going to live forever.” She reached up and hugged her. “even thou you made all those promises, I don’t mind that they’ll be broken, I don’t mind that I won’t be able to master magic, and I don’t mind that I won’t be a princess. You freed me, and that’s all I wanted.” Agony’s breath’s stopped as she let go of Twilight. Nightmare Agony started laughing hysterically.

“I’m free! I’m finally free! I don’t have to deal with that pest anymore!” she continued laughing. Twilight slowly stood up, she turned around and faced her.

“What are you looking at-?”

“How could you do something like this?!” she started yelling. “She was just a filly!”

“She was a reached and unbearable pest, she was constantly draining my power, she deserved to die!” Twilight growled at her and attack, she dodge it without effort.

“I made promises to her, and I meant them,” she attacked again, this time she managed to hit her and she screamed.

“Bring her back!”

“Never!” Twilight attack one last time, and this time Agony blocked her attack and casted her own, she summoned a black orb above her  and threw it at all of them, and before it could hit there was a white light and a force field made out of purple aura appeared around them. The black ball exploded and took out almost half the room.

“How did you do that!? You should all be dead!”

“None of us did that.” They turned around and saw the younger Agony standing up, her eyes were glowing a light purple color.

“Agony?’

“GAAAHHHH! Why won’t you ever die!” She used the same spell again, the shield stayed up and blocked it again.

“Agony, keep going we can beat her!” Twilight yelled with enthusiasm. Agony started moving forwards and the others started moving with her.

“What are you doing!” Nightmare Agony yelled as she continued attacking. Her attacks grew weaker as the approached her.

“Stop!” she yelled, the others continued moving, and eventually Nightmare Agony stopped attacking and fell to the ground.

“Ready to give up?” Twilight asked with a smug voice.

“Never.” She growled w as she panted heavily.
