Fear of the moon

“So, you lit the fire, not me?” Agony said disappointedly.

“Yeah, sorry.”

“It’s okay, it’s nice to know your helping me.” The ladder stopped, Agony reached the top of it and climbed off.

“So, now that we reach the top,” Twilight paused as she climbed off onto the stone walk way. “Where do we head from here?”

“Up to the moon.” Agony pointed to the purple ball of light. “We climb a little hire from her and there should be a bridge leading to it.” The two continued climbing up to the top of the tower, and as they climbed hire the tower stared to shake.

“What’s happening?!” Agony looked over the edge of the walk way and saw dozens of spiders scaling the tower after them.

“Spiders, a lot of spiders.”

“What do they want?”

“I don’t know but I really think we should run.” They started running upwards towards the top, and when they did, the problem grew worse.

“Where’s the bridge?!” Agony started freaking out. “The bridge is gone! Why is it gone!?”

“Agony calm down.”

“I can’t, the bridge is gone! We’re going to be stuck here forever!”

“Agony don’t say that, I promised that I’d get us out of here, and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.” Twilight walked over to the edge of the spire. She tightened her focused and then out of nowhere a bridge appeared made out of magic. Twilight started walking across it and Agony quickly followed her. They got half way across before the spiders made it to the spire.

“Uh, Twilight we have a problem,” Twilight turned around and saw them right before the bridge vanished beneath her. The two started plummeting to the ground. When they were less than an inch from it they stopped, Twilight looked up and saw she was connected to a web.

“…Are we dead?” Agony asked as she uncovered her eyes.

“No, but we probably will be any second now.” They started moving upwards.

“I can’t believe we got this far, but failed.”

“Agony,” she looked over to her. “Don’t say that, a pony never fails until they quit.” Agony faintly smiled. They reached the spire again and were pulled over the edge. Twilight and Agony jumped up and were ready to fight, but instead the hoard of spiders just stood there. After a few seconds they all bowed to the two ponies.

“…Uh, Agony do you know anything about this?”

“No, I don’t think so.” One of the spiders began making clicking noises in an attempt to communicate with them.

“What’s it doing?” Twilight whispered to Agony.

“I think it’s trying to talk to us.”

“I am trying to speak with you.” The two gasped with amazement as the spider spoke with a feminine voice. “You two have entered our home and killed one our own.”

“We’re sorry about that but we were just defending ourselves.”

“We didn’t really kill it any way.” Agony added, the colossal spiders faced her and she behind Twilight.

“She’s right, it died of hunger.”

“Be that as it may you are still trespassing within our home.”

“We were trapped here by a pony named Nightmare Agony.”

“Her. I see, we did not know that she has banished you here. We apologize.”

“It’s okay, we understand, you were just trying to defend your home.”

“Since you have been trapped here, we would like to aid you in your escape.”

“Really?”

“Yes, the bridge has been taken down long ago, but, thou it may be gone we can still walk upon it.” The spider kneeled down allowing the two to climb onto it. “Allow me to escort you to freedom.” Twilight and Agony smiled and climbed onto her back, she stood up and started walking towards the moon. She stepped of the spire top and a path way of light appeared beneath her as she walked forwards.

“look at the world we live in.” the two looked down. “The pony’s hatred caused this, our home used to be filled with life, green plants and colorful flowers bloomed, but a single seed took it all. Her hatred caused the growth of the Ivy Weed, and as she took the lives of innocent creatures the dragon claws started to appear.”

“So, this is all because of Nightmare Agony?”

“Indeed, this is all because of her.” Agony started growing more upset as the conversation continued.

“This is my fault.”

“Agony?”

“I used to control that body, but now I’m trapped here, stuck until she grows weak and gives up.”

“Young child, you had nothing to do with this, you were the one who kept our world alive, it was her who killed it.”

“I know but, when I was born I gained a second spirit that grew to be evil, as I got older it started getting stronger and when I met Nightmare Moon for the first time, it was enough to release the evil side of me. And ever since then I’ve been trapped here.”

“So that mare has been living within you since then?”

“Yeah,”

“Then she shall be real once you are freed.”

“What do you mean?”

“Once you are freed she shall become her own pony and so will you.”

“So, does that mean I don’t have to suffer for what she does?”

“Yes.” Agony started smiling.

“We are here, all you two have to do is step threw the portal, and you’ll be reunited with your friends.”

“Thanks for bringing us here, uhm?”

“Queen Carnay.”

“Thank you, Queen Carnay.” Twilight jumped off her back and vanished into the ball of light. Agony hesitated and then followed her.
