Fear of the moon

Agony started approaching the altar.

“Where do you think you’re going!” Rainbow dash demanded as she chased after Agony. She used her magic and summoned a wall of black flames to separate her and Rainbow.

“On that altar, is an arcane circle that will make me the next Nightmare Moon.” She continued walking.

“Please you must stop! There is nothing to gain from bringing her back-!”

“Enough! I don’t want to hear it! No matter what you say, I will bring her back.”

“Not if I can help it!” Rainbow flew over the wall of flames and attempted to tackle her, but she shot another beam of magic that sent her all the way to the other side of the chamber.

“Rainbow!” The other 5 yelled as the ran over to her.

“Now if your all done interrupting me, I’d like to get this over with so I can raise the moon.” She walked into the dark flamed circle and stood completely still, and in a minute she was engulfed in a pillar of black fire. She started laughing manically, but the laughs quickly turned into shrieks of pain. The screams grew louder, and the pillar of fire started expanding until it turned into a pitch black sphere. The sphere started shrinking, until it vanished and what was left was a strange dense metal orb. The orb started to crack and eventually broke and out of it was her. Agony had changed into a different form of Nightmare Moon. Her main and tail were black, her coat and eyes were purple, she was wearing the same uniform as Nightmare Moon but with different color. She started looking at herself than out of nowhere she busted out into laughter.

“This is incredible, I’ve never felt so powerful.”

“Nightmare Moon!?” Celestia started yelling at her.

“Close, I wish I was her but oh well.”

“Wait, Agony?” Luna interrupted.

“Not anymore Luna. From this way forward I will be known as Nightmare Agony!” She yelled and the entire stone castle started shaking. “Huh, not bad.”

“You fool, do you know how dangerous this is!?” Celestia started scalding her.

“Oh, I forgot about you. Hold on a second I need to fix something.” She ducked her head down and started raising it in an arched shape, and as she did that the moon slowly eclipsed the sun.

“Enough! Lower the moon immediately!”

“Or ells what?”

“Or ells all go kung-fu and start attacking!” Discord interrupted as he took out a black belt and wrapped it around his eyes.

“…Seriously? Discord? You’re going to send that freak after me?”

“Excuse me?! For your information lady I am a spirit of chaos!”

“Last I heard you got turned good by a small yellow weakling.”

“I ENJOY being good!”

“That’s too bad, I was watching over you for a while, thinking that you might want to rule Equestria with me. But oh well.”

“Ha! You can’t fool me, Now prepare to be atta-“ He grunted as he was shot with magic and blasted against the wall.

“You know what, you go ahead and rule the world, I’ll just be here.” He continued while disoriented.

“Agony, as the princes of Equestria I demand you surrender!”

“Surrender?! Are you kidding!? I’m stronger than you! What are you going to do to me?!” She started laughing.

“Silence!” Celestia attempted to attack but she was tied down by something.

“Pour pathetic Celestia, thinking you can beat Nightmare Agony, the most powerful pony in existence. You know what, I think I’m just going to go and do some evil stuff. Let me know when you get the strength to beat me.” As she attempted to teleport away a beam of magic came out of nowhere and shot her causing her to stumble.

“Who did that!?”

“I did!” Twilight announced.

“…Do I know you?”

“My name is Twilight Sparkle.”

“…Never heard of you.”

“It doesn’t matter if you have or not, I will not let you ruin Equestria.”

“Aww, you pore naive unicorn, like you can stop me. If Celestia can’t, I doubt you can.”

“I might not be able to, but I might as well try!”

“Bring it on!” The two started to stare each other down, waiting for the other to attack first so that they could counter it.

“…Well?”

“You first Agony.” Twilight replied with disgust. Agony growled at her and attacked with a spell that summoned black tentacles that grabbed her and immobilized her.

“Your turn Twilight.” Agony laughed. Twilight struggled to free herself from the tentacles but she was unsuccessful.

“No? You don’t want to attack me? Okay, I guess I’ll just go again.” After that she shot a beam of black energy that headed for Celestia.

“No!” Twilight screamed. She teleported in front of the path of the beam and took the shot. She opened her eyes to see if she was still alive or hurt in any way.

“…Ha! Your spell did nothing!”

“Did it?” Agony replied smugly. Twilight looked down and saw that her hooves were staring to faze away into smoke.

“Well Twilight I guess this is good bye.”

“What do you mean?”

“That was a special spell I was working on, I was aiming for the princes but since you took the shot instead. Now you should start fazing away and I should end up absorbing you and your power and add it to myself.” Twilight was frozen solid, she was scared from what she just heard.

“Say good bye to your friends and family Twilight, this is the last you’ll ever see them.” Twilight was still frozen, and when she finally attempted to speak she finally fazed into a cloud of purple smoke. The cloud than flew into the jewel in Agony’s necklace. She started laughing, but stopped as she started feeling pain. She lost her balance and knelled down, and as she stood up wings started forming on her back.

“…Ha…ha ha! Incredible, I’m an Alicorn…-wait! She was a princess!?”

“What do you mean?”

“The only way for me to grow wings is to either take the power of an Alicorn princess or a Pegasus!”

“Ha! I can’t believe it took you this long to figure out.” Rainbow dash taunted as she started to get back up.

“Silence!” Agony roared as she incased the room in a thick black ooze.
