Chapters The outbreak started in Ponyville about 32 hours ago. I have watched so many die under the hand of a terrorist attack on this small and sweet town. I have just moved in a small cabin near a river a few days ago, it was all fine and good, took a tour of the town, met some of the ponies here, and got some small furniture to go with the cabin. When I awoke yesterday nothing was outside, no animals, no ponies, nothing. It was startling, why the hell is nothing happening? I used my magic to put my handgun that I brought (in case of an emergency) and a first aid kit in my saddle bag and headed off towards the town. What I found was just horrifying.
Saving Lives and Kicking Flank
I rubbed my eyes thinking I was just hallucinating, but that was not the case. Maybe I was still dreaming? I gently hit my left fore leg with my right fore leg's hoof. I felt the pain, this was no dream.
"This can't be happening," I mutter under my breath, "This can not be happening."
My mind was gone, I wasn't thinking. The zombies just roamed around, eating parts of dead bodies, ripping the flesh off the corpse. I gagged at the sight.
"Help!" I hear I young girl's voice off in the distance, "Help me!"
Should I go and help her? This question ran through my brain. My legs paralyzed knowing that if I run down into the town I have a high chance of dying. Even if I came to regret it I ran towards the cries anyway. The screams of the little one scared me. I pulled out the handgun and blasted my way through the undead. Pushing through wave after wave, my handgun was finally out of ammo.
"Dammit," Whispering under my breath I ran towards the cries, galloping through the the huge swarm pushing them out of the way.
Luckily they weren't very bright, letting me have an easier time going through.
"HELP!" the screams of the girl continued to grow louder and louder.
Using my magic, I picked up a board from a nearby stand and
smashed through the horde.
"Help me mister!"
I heard the young voice scream to me. It was obvious she could see me, being on a table. I could only see a short purple mane. Pushing my way through I finally made it to the table to see a young Pegasus with a short purple mane and orange hair. Her name was Scootaloo, the only reason I knew who she was is an incident that involved some sandwiches being tossed into the air and me being covered in apple cider. Using magic I lifted her off the table and onto my back. I ran towards my cabin, going through any zombie in my way. After five minutes of trotting and pushing my way through zombies I arrived at the cabin.
"Hey there Scootaloo," I tell her while panting. She just stared at me.
'How did you know my name?" She asked with a puzzled look. I gave her a specific look and it hit her.
"Oh!" she exclaimed, "Your the guy from the restaurant yesterday!"
"Yes," I tell her, "I am the guy you flung cider onto." She just started to giggle.
"So, why didn't you just fly out of there?" A small look of shame grew on her face.
"I just can't" she told me "I never have and probably never will." Its obvious Scoots is sad. (I'm just gonna call her Scoots)
"Alright, you stay her,"
she nodded at my order. Walking over to the kitchen I remembered I brought I baseball bat and I found
some left over nails from when I was fixing up some of the walls. There was also a maintenance room in the basement. I put the bat on the table and added the nails. Smiling I picked up the Spiked Bat with my magic and hurried out the door.
I've Been Left in Hell...
The sun was setting when the unconscious filly and I returned to the cabin. I was greeted by a nice baseball bat charging into my face, but to my advantage of fighting Pinkie I was ready for it. Ducking under the bat I knocked it right out of the swinger's hand, and to no surprise, it was Scootaloo.
"What the Hell was that for?"
"Self defense..."
"Well look before you swing next time," I told her, "By the way, is this your friend?"
Using magic I picked Apple Bloom off my back and put her on one of the couches. Scoots ran over to the couch with a grin.
"Well you know me, I'm heading back out to look for some more survivors and supplies." Scoots didn't reply, I just saw her carrying over a blanket.
30 Minutes Later
I found barely anything that was a use in my scavenging hunt. There was one more building to check, a small little house near Sugar Cube Corner. I slowly push the door open, making sure that nothing was in the room. It was clear. The room itself consisted of a couch, a few bookshelves, and a small coffee table. I continued to look around the room, but to my luck I found nothing. There was one place left unchecked, a closet.
"There's gotta be some supplies in the closet," I whispered under my breath.
I slowly opened the door to make a check to see if it was safe or not. Of course it was not, I should have learned from most movies that the closet was never safe in a situation like this. One of the infected toppled over me. Using my hooves I pushed its snarling mouth away from my face. This was the end of the line.
"I will enjoy seeing you in Hell at the end of this," I tell the beast.
It just continues to snarl. The sound of a revolver firing was next, closely continued by a bullet hole in the front of its head.
"OH GOD!" I yelled fearing that the pony that fired that bullet was heading for me next.
"Dude, stop freaking out," the gunman said, "Let me help you up."
He lowered his hoof to mine. I grabbed it and was pulled off the ground easily. This guy was strong, I bet he lifts.
"Thanks," I told him.
"What's your name?" he asked me. I looked at him.
"My name's Dusk," I told him, "Well, that's what everyone calls me."
"I'm Orion," he answered, "Lieutenant third class."
"Military guy eh?" I asked him in a teasing voice.
"Special Forces," he replied, "Ordered directly from the throne."
"Okay," I replied to Orion, "I'm using my cabin as a safe house, want to come?"
"Sure, I'm on a mission to find my sister, she lived in this town."
"Well, I got two little fillies there right now, come on follow me," I told Orion, "Maybe on of them is your sis."
The way back to the cabin was the same. I hit zombies with wooden things, Orion shot them, and everything wanted to eat us. One the way back I was think that we should move to a more secure and safer location.
"Hey Orion,"
"What?"
"You're military, so do you know any safe houses around here?"
"There is one near the outside of the town, but last time a checked it was filled with the undead."
"Great," that was the only thing I could say.
If anything we would need more supplies to clear out the safe house. I do remember seeing a library down the road. Without speaking I trotted off without alerting Orion.
"Where the hell are you going?"
"Somewhere, just go to the cottage!" I yelled back to him.
There had to be a map or something that could help me get to know this place better. If I could find this map I may be able to find us some better supplies than just wooden things. Now that I think about it, Orion probably doesn't know where it is, and maybe he has a map, I should have thought this plan out more before dashing ahead like an idiot. I saw the library in the distance, the only reason I can remember that damn thing is because it is a giant tree. I did manage to pick pocket Orion's knife while he wasn't looking. Wait, this plan might not have been useless, maybe the library will have some weapon blueprints in it. I approach the hollow tree and slightly push open the door.
"Hello?" I yell into the door. There was no response, I readied the knife just encase i get jumped when I walked in. What I saw was disturbing. There was a cage with four or five zombies in it. They were toppling over each other trying to get a disembodied hoof at the top of the cage.
"Are you here to see the experiment?" A female voice whispers into my ear. I turn around to see nothing.
"No, I am here to see if there are any blueprints for weapons like that spiked bat I had."
"Shame, well at least you can see the work on how to trap a zombie by Princess Celestia's number one student." I wouldn't know who that was, I never lived in Canterlot, and I definitely did not know the princess,
"Who is the number one student?"
"Are you making fun of me?" she responded, "Do you think I'm not number one?"
"No no that is not what I'm trying to say."
"Well Dusk, who is the number one student?"
"How do you know my name?" I asked, "Also, how would I know, I don't know the Princess."
"Twi, he's mocking you, making you look stupid." I hear the voice of a young male say. I assumed "Twi" was the female voice.
"Spike take a note," she ordered the young male voice to do, "Dear Dusk, today I am going to end your miserable life!"
I readied my knife, waiting for the mare to pounce me. The first thing to attack me was a younger male dragon. He swiped at me with his claws, tearing through some of my skin. I kicked him off and ran towards him with the knife, and ended his life.
"HOW DARE YOU KILL SPIKE!" I heard the Twilight yell in the distance. Next thing I know she appears right next to me and whops me in the face. I fly onto my back. She then vanishes. I look around the room, trying to see distorted waves in the air or glowing aura. Nothing was there. I turned around to see her punch me in the face. I grab my knife and cut through her. She yelps in pain and teleports away. She then reappears and shoots a beam of magic at my head. I duck and trip her down and stab her through the heart. She gets up and starts tumbling around. Mumbling to herself she backs into the cage of zombies. They walk out and begin to tear into her skin and bones. Twilight just starts laughing, laughing hysterically as she gets mauled. The last thing I see is a burst of purple flames that killed the zombies, and the skeleton of a unicorn. I walked around the tree library to find some blueprints, but there was something else. It was a crown, with a gem shaped as a star at the top. Without hesitation I grab the crown, throw it in my saddlebag, and run off towards the cottage. While running back I remember I saw Twilight with Pinkie Pie before the outbreak, so maybe Pinkie also has one of these crown like things. I run down towards to Sugar Cube Corner, and begin the search to see if Pinkie has one.
Twilight sure did do some damage to me, but I still needed to go to Sugarcube. It seemed strange, there are no zombies around. Before I entered Twilight's there were so many, but now there gone. However, the smell of blood and decomposing flesh was still in the area. While walking down sounds of moaning and grumbling began. I turned around to see a few zombies running towards me. It was strange, running zombies, but I ran too. Another minute passes and I turn around to see a huge hoard just running towards me.
"OH CRAP!" I yell as more and more zombies continue falling out windows, breaking down doors, and appearing out of alleyways. Minutes of running and stabbing zombies that popped out in front of me ended by me finally making it to Sugarcube. I bust open the door, slam it shut, and push a cabinet in front of the door. The only sounds I could hear were the sounds of screaming and pounding. They weren't giving up any time soon. I take a few minutes to catch my breath, drink some of the water from a canteen, and eat a chocolate bar I found in the restaurant. The pounding got lighter, but it was still happening. Instead of just sitting their lazily I began the search for anything suspicious. While walking around I felt something soft under my hoof. It was the dead corpse of Pinkie Pie.
"I'm sorry that it had to be this way," I tell the body. It felt so wrong killing them, even though it was self defense. The pain of knowing you killed somepony who you might have been able to save, the feeling to know you have blood on your hooves. I just wanted this nightmare to be over as fast as possible. After a few minutes of silence I continued my search.
"I'm sorry..." a voice softly cooed. This sent a chill down my spine.
"Who the hell is there?" No response. I just rubbed it off as my imagination. The first floor was empty, except for a few knives, which I took. The second floor was a bit sad. There was a room with two baby cradles, pictures of a happy family, and a picture of Pinkie with two foals.
"Poor kids, they didn't need to observe this mess," I whispered to myself. This is one of those rooms that want to make a pony cry. A room that brings memories, a room that wants you to cry, a room that makes takes what little hope we have left. I closed my eyes an ran out the room. The next room must have been Pinkie's bedroom. The room consisted of bright colored balloons, a record player, and party supplies on the ground. The one place I needed to check was the closet. I readied my knife, so in case the zombie in the closet incident happens. I slowly pull the door open, nothing happens. When I lower my guard something bites my back.
"OH GOD!" I turn around to see a small alligator biting me, "Oh, thank Celestia it wasn't a zombie." The alligator was toothless and had big purple eyes.
"Ain't you a cute little fella," I tell it, "You must have been Pinkie's pet." The alligator latches onto my tail. I just laugh and start walking around, a toothless alligator biting on to my tail.
"Protect Gummy..." a soft voice cooed. I look around to see nothing, but I guess it was telling me to protect the gator. I guess his name is Gummy. I ignored the voice and looked at the closet's floor to see a wooden box. Opening it I found a gold necklace with a balloon emblem in the middle, sort of like Twilight's crown. I toss it into my saddle bag and packed up. There was nothing of interest in the other rooms. My legs and hooves aching from all the fighting and walking I needed to get back to the cottage and see if Orion made plan on how to clear the safe house of the decomposing flesh bags. The wooden boards squeaked as I walked across them, for the outbreak only being three days ago I wouldn't expect this thing to happen. While approaching the stairs a loud crash came from the room below. Something was down there, a zombie, a survivor, or something else.
"Hello?" I yelled down the stairs, "Is anypony there?" No response, just another crash that sounded like china being smashed. There was another and another and another. Something down there was breaking all of the fragile objects. My muscles tightened as I began to walk down the stairs, like they didn't want me to see the china breaking thing. I tried to move, but fear took over. I called down to see if somepony was actually down there. No response again, unless you consider the sound of more china breaking a response. A minute after the last china smash there was no sound. It was silent, silent as the night. I wanted to peak down to see if anything was still there, but I just couldn't force myself.
"I'm gonna kill all of you," a mare's voice exclaimed from the downstairs, "I'm gonna kill every last one of ya!" The mare sounded insane. She was obviously on a murderous rampage, on china.
"What is your problem with dishes?" I ask the mare as I walk down the stairs.
"Who the buck are you?" the voice questioned me.
"Dusk," I replied, "the name's Dusk. She turned to me, holding a sword, her mane and coat had blood splatters all over it. Her mane all dirty and her arm with a bloody gash in it.
"Name's Rainbow," she said, "Rainbow Dash."
This cyan Pegasus seemed so familiar, was it something about her voice, her coat, or maybe the way she acted? I never could understand her from this one encounter. She had multiple blood stains in her coat, and the sword she was carrying also had some blood.
"Where did the blood come from?" I ask, sounding like a fool.
"Oh, this," she replied, "Zombies, zombies, and more zombies."
"Any survivors?" she looks at me with those magenta eyes, like she could see through my soul.
"Well no, but you have," she replied, "You killed my friends Twilight and Pinkie."
"I'm so sorry," I told her, "I had no..." The mare cut me off, shoving her hoof against my mouth.
"I really don't care," she said, "They lost their minds, it was too late." This reply was surprising, most ponies I would tell something like "Hey, I just killed your friends!" would just murder me. This pony was brave, fighting to survive, and not killing survivors. I wanted to hug her, though I looked insane myself. The crimson look of blood covered my dark grey coat, my black mane had even more drops. I was soaked in the stuff, yet I didn't even bother noticing.
"Do you trust me?" she blurted out.
"So far, yeah," I replied, "I mean, you are the second survivor I've met who hasn't tried to gut me like a fish or blow my head off with magic." She just stared at the ground. It was covered with blood, from the fight with Pinkie.
"Do you want to come back to the cottage?" I asked her, I trusted Dash. She nodded in agreement. It was fantastic knowing somepony with skills in combat was joining. There were three of us now, Dash, Orion, and myself. She put the sword in a belt like strap on her back and pushed open the half broken door. We both walked out to see a beautiful sunset.
"Dammit," she whispered in a somewhat scared voice.
"What?" I asked her.
"Don't you know the zombies become more aggressive and dangerous at night?"
"To be truthful I mainly stay in buildings during night and get some shuteye."
"Well get prepared with that knife," she ordered me, "We got to get prepare for a horde." I grabbed the knife out of my saddle bag and prepared for the worst. Rainbow wasn't kidding, a huge horde of undead came running furiously. She unsheathed he sword and began to swing at the undead beasts. With a single slice she took off three of the undead bastard's heads. The bodies slumped over onto the ground. I managed to stab one of the zombies through the head. It staring at me with its glowing eyes. It was pissed, and even with a knife in it's head the beast still wanted to decapitate me. Hours of fighting passed. The knife seeming to bend and looking like it was going to fall apart into tiny metal shards. Her sword didn't seem damaged at all. Like it was made out of some magical element. From behind her a zombie flailing around pounced her. I sprinted towards Dash. The zombie was getting closer to her skin to bite and infect. I kicked its head in, blood flying and splattering on my coat.
"Thanks, I guess I actually can trust you," I pulled her up. It was nice, it was so nice to have another survivor who wasn't going to beat the crap out of me before I stab them, crush them, or even make them spontaneously burst into flames. It seems like days, but the sun begins to rise, and the zombies charging at us fall, like they were recharging their batteries.
"Come on, let's get back to the cottage," I reply to the Rainbow mare. She replied with a simple nod. The path back was now covered with body parts and blood. This once peaceful town became a nightmare, but we've learned to live like this. When will this nightmare end?
"They should've sent in the military by now," I say. She looks at me with a look that just can't be subscribed.
"It's the damn military," she told me, "When the hell do they ever come in time, they probably don't even know of the outbreak." This was just a strange thing, Orion told me it was a direct order from the Princess that he come here.
"One of the survivors told me he was sent here from a direct order from the Princess," I tell her, "Do you mean to tell me he went rouge or came here without order?"
"Probably, anypony will make a lie to come somewhere for a reason." I wonder if she is telling the truth and Orion is lying, or the opposite. A few minutes pass and the cottage is in view, the river seems to be flowing a bit slower then yesterday, and some animals seem to be back. I approach the cottage to notice it was so quiet. Opening the door to see a bunch of supplies gone, and Orion, Scoots, and Bloom are gone.
"The bastard," I whisper under my breath. I look around the house to see a piece of paper nailed to the wall. It read,
"Dusk, I've taken the girls to the safe house. Travel through the forest behind your house until you make it to a fork in the trail. Take the left path, it will lead you to the safe house. It looks like an old bunker used in war. You will find it near a lake that is near the end of the path. I will meet you in front of the lake. Hurry, and bring back my knife- Orion"
"He moved on to the safe house, and gave me some directions," I look at her, "We're moving on out."
"Scavenge the cabin for anything they left behind, I didn't tell Orion about the cellar," I call out to Dash, "They're may be some weapons and and supplies." I just heard a quick okay and then silence. I remember that I brought some spare ammo for that handgun when I saved Scootaloo. I did find a few knives while out at Sugar cube, and there was that workbench. I sprint down to the cellar to check for any supplies. I see a machete, a rake, and boxing gloves. I first put the gloves on the table and add the knives to each finger. Add some duct tape and you get boxing gloves with knives attached. I did the same with the rake and machete getting a lance like rake.
"The power of duct tape!" I shout in a proud voice.
"Okay..." I hear Dash shout back down. With my new found tools I walked upstairs.
"Here, have this huge battery," Dash tossed a battery on the table, "And a rake, I'm sure you can find something to make use of these." I smile and run back to the cellar, put the rake on the table then I add the battery, and use the mighty duct tape and create some sort of rake with a battery strapped to it. I walk up with the rake being held up by magic and wave to Dash to hurry up.
"I'm just getting a few more cans of food," she replies, "And that is one weird rake." Opening the door gives a fresh smell of blood that burns my nostrils. Turns out the zombies were getting pretty hungry and decided to eat a deer that was near my house. We decided to ignore them and follow the instructions to this safe house. We approach the forest to prepare our road trip.
"Alright, he says to follow the path until reaching the fork in the road," I tell her. Dash pulls out the sword, still covered with blood. I get ready the lance rake. The path was made of cobblestone, with a bit of dirt here and there. Like most ponies would expect in this situation there were splotches of blood here and there, but the oddest thing was the note attached to the tree. The note was written in blood, it read,
"Do not take the right path, to many zombies. You will die if you take the right. Remember do NOT take the right. My four friends died there, and I am slowly bleeding out. So any one who finds my note don't take the right path."
I put my hoof on my fore head and give a little salute.
"What did it say?" Dash asked me.
"It said don't take the right," I tell her, "the pony who wrote this is probably dead, and his four friends are dead." This path was already creeping me out. The trees were high enough to block out the sun. We reached the fork in the road, which is where the path ended, but two lanes of grass were. The left, which was filled with tall green grass, or the right, which was filled with dying shrubs and tons of crimson on the floor. It was obvious that we should take the left. The grass against my legs felt really nice, like something soft being rubbed against them. Dash decided to float off the ground and see if anything was a bit ahead of us. Her wings were a bit damaged for her to fly too fast or high. The path ended with a huge stone building covered in all sorts of vegetation, but that is what happens when something is abandoned in a forest. On a guard tower was Orion sitting with a revolver watching the path.
"Dusk!" he yells down to us, "Up here, who's your friend?"
"Her name's Rainbow Dash, she helped me defend against the horde at night.
"And Dusk here saved my life when one managed to attack me from behind." This statement made me blush a bit.
"Well you two get your flanks into the safe house," he tells us as he gently floats down, "Let me give you a tour." Orion gently drifted down from the tower and showed us to the entrance. The door itself was made of reinforced steel, with five iron bars in a small window in front of the door. It seemed to be the most in tact item of the structure.
"Any news for me to here Dusk?" Orion asked me as the three of us walk down a dimmed lit hallway.
"I was forced to kill another," I reply in a shamed voice. He turns around and looks at me.
"Who?" he just asked in a somewhat gentle voice.
"Two," I tell him, "A baby dragon named Spike and a purple alicorn named Twilight." He sighs and continues walking. At the end of the dimmed hallway was a shining light. We entered the room just for me to get blinded by the light.
"Working electricity never made my eyes hurt so much," I yell in a some what humorous voice. When I finally was able to open my eyes again I saw Scootaloo and Applebloom sleeping on two cots, a nice couch set up with a working television in front of it, and a kitchen in the back.
"I'll cook us some food," Dash tells us, "Orion, go back to the watchtower, Dusk, you should get some shuteye." Orion nods as he points to a room near the middle of the hallway. I approach the room and plop into the bed. It was so nice to finally get some sleep in a structure that could survive a pretty damn long time in an attack. My eyelids slowly grow heavy and I pass out.
"They will all die because of you..." a voice whispers into my ear, "You are the reason that they will die." It went completely silent. A few minutes later I wake up in a small room, completely painted black, with one piano in it. I walk up to the piano and play some melody I don't even know on an instrument I don't know how to play. Then somepony enters the room, they are in a completely dress in black robes, and their face was covered by shadows. Instead of reacting to the hooded stranger I continue to play the piano. The figure then dissolves into the floor and everything goes black. The room then reforms with Rainbow Dash and Orion dead, with me standing over their corpses with a knife, a knife covered in crimson.
"DUSK!" I hear Orion scream from the other room, "Dusk snap out of it." He slaps me and a begin to regain my senses.
"Are you okay?" I hear Rainbow Dash ask me. I just stare at the two, and the scene with their bodies flashes through my mind. I scream again than instantly pass out.
"Girls stay in the other room," I hear Orion say before losing my sense of all reality.
Dusk's Point of View
My head aches as I awake from the sleep. Darkness is everywhere, except for a small green path leading to a small glimpse of light in the distance. I manage to get up, but the strange thing is my legs feel no pain. I don't know why I am struggling if there is no pain. The light shines in the distance, brighter than anything I have ever seen. The green path begins to spread and becomes a meadow. All I see are my parents. As I continue walking my younger self appears, playing with what seems to be a dog. It was a nice peaceful scene. My parents then begin to turn around to my younger self.
"Don't listen to the voices," they say, "The voices are lying to you." The scene begins to get devoured by darkness. Next thing I know, I am back in the safe house, laying in the bed.
"What the hell happened?" I ask myself in a soft voice, "I guess I should go see the others." I jump out of the bed, grab my bag, and ventured to the living room.
"Dusk!" Dash yells over to me, "Are you okay?"
"Why wouldn't I be?"
"You were screaming and crying in your sleep last night."
"Oh, bad dreams, that's all." She nods and heads back into the kitchen and grabs a mop.
"Well, you can go clean up the floor while your awake." I groan, but obey the command.
The Technician's Point of View
I continuously pace the room.
"My god, will you ever stop and check on last night's security footage?" my A.I. asks.
"Yeah," I reply. The screen is flashing, with the words "Footage take successful."
"Enter access code," a computerized voice orders.
"12, 5, 17, 9, 11, 22," I tell her.
"Access Granted." The footage appears on the screen.
"Alright Dusk, let's see if you survived the night." I flip some switches and the video begins to play. The whole footage was him sleeping, until the dreams.
"Ah, so Twilight got you with the dream spell." His two companions burst into the room, and try to calm him. Dusk then passes out.
"Dammit, that bucking spell!" I yell out, "And she had to make a run for it before the zombies mauled her."
"What do you mean Tech?"
"Star," I reply, "It means Sweetheart got away before the creatures mauled her to death."
"Any vital signs or signals from her?"
"No, it seems like she managed to put a block on her bucking exsistance." I slam my hoof against the desk, making utilities fly in the air.
"Tech, we can't let her continue, she is critically insane."
"No kidding star," I reply, "We need to find her, activate any security cameras in all of Ponyville."
"What if she has already made it out?"
"That is why we are activating Protocol 8281." Her hologram nods, and the protocol goes into effect.
"Bingo, her heart location tracker and heart beat monitor are back up."
"Where is she Tech?"
"Almost approaching the barrier, activate Protocol 171, we're gonna lead her back into the town."
"Already on it." I nod. The computer flashes and all security cameras in the area go into effect. I smile, and begin to activate the defense turrets.
"Sweetheart isn't going anywhere."
Dusk's Point of View
The floor is now perfectly clean, and by what Dash said, Orion should be back in any second. I sit up in the guard tower, with the rifle that has been left by Orion in case of attack. In the distance I see Orion rushing back, with something of the unknown.
"Dusk, get your flank down here now!" he yells up. I climb down the ladder to see what is so important.
"Look up Dusk, look up." My head raises to the sky to see a huge magic barrier.
"Military lock down?" I ask him.
"No, someone is trapping us in here."
"I guess you're pretty smart Orion," a mysterious voice replies.
"Who the hell are you?" Orion asks.
"I'm the mare who is going to save your lives."
"Who the hell are you?"
"I'm the Technician, but you can call me Tech."
"Can you tell us why the hell a barrier is around the city."
"I put it here so Sweetheart couldn't get out."
"Sweetheart?" I ask, "Orion, go tell Dash about the barrier, but don't come back out, I need to talk with Tech." He nods before running inside the building.
"Now Dusk, what do you need to know?"
"How long have you known about us?"
"Ever since the outbreak, I've been able to put a non existing tracker on you, your friends, and Sweetheart."
"How did you get the trackers on us?"
"Simple really, you would be surprised about what I could do with computers."
"How did you get control of the cameras?"
"Listen Dusk, it's very hard to explain, and I need to get back to tracking Sweetheart, I'll talk to you later." And with that sentence, the speaker went quiet. Though while talking a horde decides to come stop for a visit.
"Damn, Orion, prepare for battle!" I yell as I grab the rifle, "we got some undead scumbags to take care of."
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. The Path of Blood and Roses
Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. Something has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter. With the spiked bat in my saddle bag I ran out into the fields. To keep me and Scoots alive I would need some food. I guess I can just stop by at sugar cube corner. The fight between was same as the time as I went to save Scoots. Time passed until I finally arrived at sugar cube corner. Something was out of touch, seeing there were literally no zombies anywhere. The real reason was, many small pieces of bone and flesh was everywhere. Piled up near the door were bones and a few skulls. A smell of something baking canceled what should smell like decaying bodies. The smell of sweet rolls lingering through my nose. I walked into the bakery to see one of the three girls, I think her name is Apple Bloom, tied in a chair crying.
"What the hell?" I whispered, knowing some pony in here was most likely going to kill me.
"YAY!" the voice of a mad mare echoed through the hallway, " A customer!"
I ducked behind a counter in the back of the shop with a little spot that I could look out to see what was happening. The beloved Pinkie Pie came bouncing out of the hall. You would think this would be nice if she didn't have a butcher's knife covered in blood. When she walked out, Apple Bloom began to make sounds that sounded like screams and crying.
"What's wrong little one?" she began to snicker with an evil tone, "I'm gonna make you some sweets for ya!"
After that burst of screaming and crying came. I knew I had to act, or this poor little filly might die.
"Untie the girl!"
I yell towards the insane one. She turned around with a huge smile and her right eye twitching.
"There's the customer," she said, "What can I get you?"
"You can untie Apple Bloom!" I yell towards her.
"Why would I do that?" she asked, "Look, she's having fun!"
"I don't think sounds of crying and screaming mean fun."
"Yes it does!" she yelled, "Tears of joy and screams of enjoyment!"
"If you won't do it, I will."
I walked towards the chair to get a small knife thrown at me. It slices a small part of my skin off. Apple Bloom's screaming continues to grow louder and louder. I pull out my spiked bat that I created at the cabin.
"Bring it," I told her.
She charged with the sharpened knife, but to her disadvantage I swung the bat straight into her head. This swing sent her flying to the side. I swung again. Pinkie dodged it and stabbed me with a knife. I yelped in pain. Once again I swung the bat and that was able to send her flying into a cabinet. The cabinet began to tip over and fell, crushing Pinkie to death. I untied Apple Bloom, who passed out when Pinkie charged at me and carried her to the cabin.
