When a pony discovers the Necronomicolt, the cretins of R'lneigh, along with its ruler, Eldritch Hooves, are released into Equestria, causing more panic and disorder than any draconequus could possibly make. Enter Candy Cane, an underpaid peppermintjack (a job involving cutting down Peppermint Trees) who hears the call of adventure, and declines it. And then he does the rest of the Hero's Journey, what with the inner-most cave, the tests…

Rumor has it, in the deepest, darkest oceans of Equestria, lays a small entrance.

An entrance to a new land.

A land where creatures dwell, following orders.

The orders of a behemoth.

On the jagged rock-of-a-throne slumped a mass of pony and octopus. It was impossible to decipher what part belonged to what animal, and what shade of green meant the beast was pleased. All anybody could guess is that this thing was big, and it ate souls. The creature was writhing around, probably restless. It hasn't had a meal in over a decade, and just popping in to some random dimension could cause more hysteria than intended. It had to wait.

Wait to be summoned. Invited to the party, in a sense. When someone says the magic words somewhere, it'll move from its dark palace, and it'll eat everything with a soul. It would be a massacre. Deep Ones, Yithians, Shoggoths, Byakhees, and other unspeakables would join the big tentacled creature in its storm. The whole thing would be an apocalypse. The dead littering whatever ground there is, any buildings, trees, roads, and living spaces turned to rubble...It would be a party for Eldritch Hooves, God of R'lneigh and all of its inhabitants.

All he had to do was wait.
