Chapter 1 - A Surprise in the Night

Well this is happening” you say to yourself as you reach the outskirts of Trottingham. Looking back on the town, remembering  fond memories. The time you graduated, from the time you made a friend. As you look on with pensive eyes, you can see how busy the town is going to get with deliveries coming up-river and flying taxi carriages everywhere. Is this what i want? what will happen with my parents? i hope they’ll be alright. With a last look back you walk over the hill going the opposite direction from when you arrived in this town. "Well...goodbye."

This route is probably going to be unorthodox, You thought to yourself whilst look at the map of Equestria with your drawn out route on it. It took a couple weeks to figure out the safest route to Ponyville, "since there are very little roads that come from Trottingham and go to Ponyville, i’ll have to stick very close to my route," you said as you thought out loud and poked the map. This route is long and will take at least two days to travel on hoof since you liked looking at scenery and flying would be too fast to look.

You were now closing in on Cloudsdale, or rather closing in on the shadow of Cloudsdale. It had only been half a day but heck, you could see Cloudsdale from almost anywhere in Equestria. To your left you could see Canterlot, home of the upperclassmen and the princesses, high up in the mountains. Shining, gleaming and imposing. The city was a marvel to look at, with spires that almost reached the top of the mountain it was built from and tiny Pegasus pulled carriages in the air going from location to location from within the city. The only reason Pegasus pulled carriage was better is that the air didn't have traffic and was much less busy.

It was now starting to get dark, your favorite time of the day/night cycle. The stars looked as if they had been hoof-picked and placed in their places with purpose. The night's often varied from one to another, some night's you could see patters and some you swear you could see images of some ponies in the sky. Since you had no knowledge of the ponies that showed up in the sky it didn't matter, but it was strange.

You searched for a dry patch of land, since apparently it rain's under Cloudsdale quite frequently. Once you had found the perfect patch of land and gathered up some fire wood you tried to light a fire the "old fashioned way," which is useless. you resorted to flying up and getting a storm cloud, one hoof smack later a bolt of lightning hit the campfire and set the wood on fire. Pushing the cloud aside you began setting up the bed and by bed you meant you bindle pillow and no blanket. Living the life, with a big thump you landed on the ground and started to fall asleep.

As soon as you went to doze off a loud crash could be heard coming from behind you. Jolting awake, with just your hooves for protection, which seemed a good idea at the time but... you learned how to box and only did so in self defense. You probably would be able to see what was making that noise but the fire had died down after a while and you could only see 1 metre in-front of you. "If your here to rob me i'll have you know, i'm trained it twenty one and a half fighting techniques." You lied hoping the pony would buy it and since you added the extra half he would know you meant business. This robber must be clever, as he responded you your blatant lie with a "Help me..." WHAT!? that's not what i was expecting, i doubt a robber pony wanted help robbing me when he would be armed.

The moving and shuffling from the other pony died down so you thought you were alone. Closing your eyes to go back to sleep, after laying down of course. after about five minutes of trying to sleep and still be shook up about the prospect of fighting another pony that doesn't know boxing you felt something warm against you stomach. "I'm not that hungry am i?" looking down you could not only see your stomach but you see the strangest thing you've seen ever travelling the road. A small colt cuddled up against you. What in the world, this has to be a dream. Why would a small colt be out here.

The colt himself was an Earth pony with a coat of chocolate brown and a mane of beige. Strange colour combination but whatever. Guess i'll see to him in the morning, his parents mustn't have gone far. After that you dozed of into dreamworld, hoping no more weirdness would happen.
