Feathered wings and funny things
I was a good kid in flight school. Always behaved, I said our schools motto with pride, and I generally followed rules. She on the other hand was less of a goody two shoes. Okay fine we were both troublemakers, she was worse but that only gave me some competition. She did what she wanted, and We became fast friends but sometime she took things too far. That's just who Gilda was.
"Hey dashie check it out!" Gilda said running up to me with a small pouch dangling from her beak. I wondered how she had called to me. "My family mailed me forty bits. Wanna hit up that comic store after school, on me?"
"Totally" I said. "I actually got some money from my family too" I pulled my pouch out of my bags. "See thirty five bits!"
"That's cool!" She slipped the small pouch into the black bags hanging on her sides. "How was your spring break away from school?" she looked at me from the corner of her eye as we started back into the school grounds.
"To be completely honest" I started as one of the "three stooges" flank checked me as we walked past. I acted fast hooking my hind hoof on his "the food was totally the best part" he hit the cloud hard as I finished my sentence. "I can not wait for summer though my dad told me we are probably going to the equestria games anyway" she was the only pony who understood how upset I was when they announced that another city would hold the games. "I am very excited. I mean this is going to be the best thing ever! Imagine how awesome the stunt competition will be!" Little did I know I would be going anyway.
"I hear ya dashie it'll be super bad!" Gilda said giggling like a normal griffon of her age (about 14).
"yeah i can-"she cut me off with her sudden bursts of laughter. "What?" I said simply. maybe it was the fact that it was somewhat unexpected, or maybe it was some how unsettling either way it threw me off track.
"Oh, just the way you wasted that stooge." She giggled a bit more. "He didn't even know it was you!"
"Right?" I laughed with her. "he hit that cloud hard enough to dent himself!" when we finally stopped laughing we were almost to the dormitory building. "so what happened while I was gone?" i asked. She glanced at me before looking up at the building."Well?" I pushed.
She sighed. "Room changes"
I stopped in my tracks. Impossible i thought. Then i thought back before i left. they could and they did. "those bastards" i suddenly yelled.
"that's not the worst of it we both got stuck with some fresh new dorks. i don't know who out of the four of them though. There is a small pink maned mare, a young black and yellowish haired punk rock stallion, lavender punk chick and a grey haired dork of a stallion. I think their names are flutter something, Zak drake, Lilly run, and snow grey or some crap like that."
"So we aren't bunk mates anymore?" I asked my voice cracking harshly.
"Afraid not." She answered grimly. "i suppose eventually we might end up back how we were. If I break a few bones first" she said smiling just as grimly. i laughed a little before becoming silent for a moment more.
"What about" I broke off hardly able to speak "what about my posters and my other stuff?" I wasn't really all that concerned about them.
"Don't worry. I moved it all myself." She looked sad, but not as much as me. "and i made sure no one else touched them." she gave me a trusting look and i felt a little more at ease.
"Let me take you to your room." She said putting a heavy claw on my shoulder. A few minutes later she stopped and pointed to the door. "Dorm four hundred and forty-one." I hugged her as she said it. "I gotta go my first class starts soon." She said as she hugged me back.
"Okay, see you at lunch?" I asked
"Yeah" she said as she walked away. She turned the corner and there I was left behind to face whoever was behind that door.
Feathered wings and funny things
As I opened the door I heard a small squeak like a mouse or cat. I quickly scanned the room, nothing. "Hello?" I said quizzically. No response so I closed the door and opened my side of the rooms closet. "At least she put things how I like them" the Wonderbolts costume I had worn to last year and of course this year to our schools Halloween party was pinned to the back. The two signed posters on the insides of each door to the closet. One was a wonderbolts poster and the other was spitfire posing in her uniform. sexy beast I thought. "good to be back I suppose." I said flinging my bags into the bottom of the closet. the few books and other things landing with a thud. "I hope we can become roommates again soon, this already sucks major as-"
"You mean the griffin?" somepony said. I jumped falling into the neat closet, and I may have screamed.
"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" she said clearly shocked that she had scared me, as indicated by her voice. That or the obvious look of shock.
"I'm fan-fuc" I stopped myself when I saw her face. At the time I didn't have a preference but this mare could change any mares mind, and she apparently didn't know it. "I'm good?" I said after a few lingering stares. Her semi curly hair a pleasing pink. Her yellow coat was perfectly groomed. Every feather on each of her wings were perfectly placed. "You're my new roommate?" I asked sheepishly.
"I would hope so. Are you rainbow dash?" She said only barely able to sound confident with her questions. "I mean I would assume if anypony was her it would be you.." She began to hide her face behind her mane. To be honest it was kind of cute. then again what was I thinking?
"Yeah and your flutter something or other." I said "not to be rude or anything, I just never got your full name. " I flipped my hair out of my eyes and stood up.
"Y-yeah it's actually fluttershy but yes that is my name.." I could tell she was warming up to me, but still had no clue how to act. she just kept behind her mane like a wall. "I just enrolled from canterlot." she muttered.
she was just too quiet and I almost told her to speak the hell up but then thought better of it. "so why come to cloudsdale. doesn't canterlot have a better flight school?" or at least I assumed they would.
"oh well sort of. but most ponies weren't very nice and i'm kind of a little bit." she trail off and started to blush a little. I wasn't sure if she was embarrassed or it was that she was just that shy.
"hey, don't sweat it most of the kids here are decent." I completely lied just to comfort her. Most kids were ghetto as all hell and or total dicks. she however, didn't need to know that. "I assume you need to know where your classes will be held right?" I asked trying to seem friendly.
~ ~ ~
Two hours went by as I got to know the semi attractive but extremely shy mare. she liked to sing with birds and had never really explored the ground, living most of her life indoors or in the clouds. She hated flying but was determined to get at least a little bit better at it. she assured me that flying wasn't her strong suit and that she would much rather become a singer or at very minimum a song writer. Both sounded cute and interesting all though, she certainly lacked the crowd attitude. I told her about my desire to design sports stuff. she looked back at me with a look that may have said something like "the fuck" but i wasn't sure. that's about when the lunch bell rang and i couldn't help but notice fluttershys startled jump. in fact it was kinda cute. we made our way to the mess hall. after being extremely picky she finally went with lunches weakest subject. a salad. gag me with a horseshoe and send me flailing over a rainbow waterfall that is the lamest thing to eat. i much preferred our pies. we eventually found gilda and sat down to eat.
