Broken

Drip, Drip, Drip, Splash! Rainbow Dash was asleep on her bed in her cloud home. Drop, Drip, Splash! "What? Huh?" the rainbow maned pegasus asked. "Who is it?" Drip, drop, *splash!**  She groaned and laid back down when she remembered. *I'm supposed to clear the clouds for Fluttershy's Birthday Party!

She flew up in her haste, hitting her head on the roof. "Ow!" she yelled in annoyance. She grumped to her mirrior and tore a brush through her hair. She looked at her unruly hair. Oh well. She flew out her window and went towards Sugar Cube Corner.

In front of the building, Rainbow threw her wings out to her sides, slowing her to a halt. From the outside, you couldn't even tell it was a party. "Am I late?" She worried aloud as  she ducked into the building. No. She wasn't late. Twilight was hanging a banner that read         Happy Birthday Fluttershy!      The cyan mare jumped as Pinkie Pie exploded out o nowhere. "Hey Dash, where have you been? Do you like the party? Have you seen Fluttershy? Do you think she'll like it?" the questions were shooting at her so fast she couldn't respond.

"Pinkie-"

"I planned this! Do you like it? Huh huh huh?"

"Pinkie Pie!"

"I got cake and balloons and presents!"

"PINKIE!"

"Yea Dash?"

"Where is Fluttershy?"

"Oh, Rarity went to get her."

Rarity burst into the shop as if summoned by the question. "I can't find her!" the lady-like mare cried. "She's not in her cottage, she's not in the woods, she's not anywhere!" All the activity stopped. "Whatya mean you can't find her?" Dash demanded. Without waiting for a response, the cyan mare burst through the door and into the sky.

Rainbow looked all over Ponyville, and soon found the butterscotch mare on a cloud. Suddenly, she saw something that made her heart stop. Fluttershy fell off. The cream pegasus' body soared the trees, promising death. She knew if she didn't do something soon, her childhood friend would die. She raced across the sky, and caught her friend. But, they were still heading for the ground.

100 Feet

Dash sprawled out her wings, trying to hold both of their weights. Comon Dash, think! she thought.

70 Feet

Rainbow's life flashed before her eyes. She was going to die. The realization set in. The ground was getting closer, and there was nothing she could do.

50 Feet

20 Feet

1 Foot

Snap. Everything went black.

Twilight's POV

Twilight flew clumsily after her friend. "Woah!" she yelled as she hit a tree. A shriek of a pony in pain clawed at her eardrums. Her heart stopped. Dash. "No no no no no!" Twilight worried as she followed the sound. Suddenly, she saw a terrible scene. Dash was sprawled on the ground with Fluttershy on top of her. Fluttershy must've fallen. Hooves clopped behind her. "AJ help! I need to take them to the hospital!" The orange earth pony didn't ask what had happened. She just quickly took the cyan pony on her back. Twilight watched as a drip of crimison fell out of Rainbow Dash's mouth.
