Life is Complicated

It all happened a long time ago, in the magical land of Equestria.  There were two royal alicorn sisters.  The oldest was named Celestia and the youngest was named Luna.  The beginning of this story dates back to when the two were just young fillies.  One day, the two were just playing hide-and-seek.  Celestia was counting and Luna was trying to hide.  She was looking beside the fence by the road.  Then she saw a young colt walking past.  He was a green pegasus with a black mane.  He was all dirty and covered in mud.  Luna was so busy looking at him, she lost track of time.

"...thirty-eight, thirty-nine, fourty!," cried Celestia, "Ready or not, here I come."  She only walked a few steps to find Luna by the fence.

"I found you Luna," she said,"You should probably work on your hiding skills."

"Oh, sorry Celestia.  I just got... distracted."  Then she pointed to where the colt was.

"Oh my," said Celestia, "He looks like he just got hurt really bad."

"Maybe we should go talk to him," said Luna, "He looks like he has no friends." So the two exited the garden and walked over to where the colt was.

"Hello," said Celestia, "Are you ok?"  "Yes," said the colt, "I'm fine."  "My name is Celestia," said Celestia,"This is my sister Luna."  "It's nice to meet you two," replied the colt, "My name is Tryston Blauvelt."

"It's nice to meet you too Tryston," said Celestia, "We just were wondering, what happened to you?"

"You really want to know?" asked Tryston.

"Yes," replied Celestia.

"Alright," said Tryston,"I was being bullied by some other colts down at the park.  They were making fun of me because my parents passed away when I was three.  Then they pushed me into a big mud puddle.  Then they said I was weak and spineless an a wast of space.  I ran away from then and tried to hide so they couldn't see me.  I  stopped running when I saw that they weren't chasing me anymore.  Then I came here and tried to see if there was some pony that I could talk to.  Then I met you two."

"Oh my," said Celestia,"You should come inside with us and wash all that mud off."

"Thank you," said Tryston.

So the three of them walked down the path to the door to the castle.  "You two live in a castle?" asked Tryston.  "Yes," said Celestia.  Just then a cold breeze came past them.  "We'd better get inside," said Luna.  So they entered the castle and walked down the long, continuous halls until they came upon a room.  It was the study.  The two alicorn sisters walked in and Tryston followed.  When they walked in, there were two fully grown alicorns in the room.  The first one was a male that was a very dark shade of blue with a dark blue mane.  His name was Aretimus.  The second was a female that was a shade of white with an orange mane.  Her name was Solaris.  The two fillies came running up to them.

"Mommy, Daddy," they both said,"We found a friend who needs a place to stay.  Can he stay with us, please?"  "Well," said Solaris while looking over Tryston, "He seems like a nice pony.  I suppose he could stay for the night.  But you must get him cleaned at once."  "Yes mommy," said the two fillies.  So the two took Tryston to the bathroom.  After a long bath, Tryston was shining like a star.  He was then brought before King and Queen.  They said that he looked like he was ready for a special party.  Then Celestia and Luna took him outside again and introduced them to their friend that their parents rescued from a manticore.  He was a deplodicus named Discord.  He was small, but he would soon grow to be big and strong.  He showed them a few magic tricks he could do.  Then the three ponies went inside and played a pirate game.  After all that, Aretimus came in and said it was time to go to bed.  So Celestia and Luna climbed into their respective beds.  Tryston made himself a bed out of sheets that were in the closet.  In no time at all, the three were fast asleep.

The next morning, they all woke up.  The three were greeted in the kitchen with a big buffet of food.  It all looked wonderful.  After eating breakfast, Tryston had to leave.  Celestia and Luna watched him off.  They hoped he would be back one day.  They actually stumbled upon him one day in the park.  He was then invited back to the castle.  Tryston then had a schedule with Celestia and Luna (with permission from their parents) to stay with them every Friday night.  He was there to see Celestia raise the sun for the first time and get her cutie mark.  He was also able to see Luna raise the moon for the first time and earn her cutie mark as well.  As time went on, soon Tryston and Celestia were soon the same age of 18 and Luna was soon 13.  Discord was also 13.  Tryston had started to like Celestia, a lot.  He didn't know how to approach Celestia, but knew he would eventually tell her.

One day, when Celestia was 19, Tryston came out and told her exactly how he felt about her.  Celestia had turned a deep shade of red.  "Well,"said Tryston,"I would've told you sooner, but I was nervous.  I know you probably don't feel the same, but I can exe..."  But he was cut short by Celestia.  She gace him a tender, passionet kiss.  It lasted for a while, until Celestia broke the kiss.   After that, Tryston and Celestia started dating.  Discord heard about it and became jealous.  After a good 5 years of dating, Tryston went out into town and bought a diamond ring.  He was going to meet Celestia in the high mountains, but he never got the chance.

On his way back from town, Tryston got stopped dead in his tracks by Discord.

"Hey Discord," he said, "What's up?"

"Oh nothing,"said Discord,"I just have something to show you.  Follow me."  So Tryston followed Discord.  They soon arrived at the mountains and went into the underground caves.  Discord led Tryston to a secluded area of the caves.  "Now could you please put that ring down so I can show you this," said Discord.

"Ok," said Tryston putting the ring down,"But I don't see why."

"This is why," replied Discord.  Then he snaped his fingers.

"Nothing happened," said Tryston.

"Look down," said Discord.  Tryston looked down to see that ice was freezing his body upwards.

"No!!!!" cried Tryston,"Why are you doing this to me Discord!?"

"Isn't it obvious," replied Discord,"I'm sick of no pony giving me attention.  I'm sick of not being close to Celestia.  I'm sick of you.  I was Celestia and Luna's star attraction, until you came around.  Do you know how hurt I was, how abandoned I felt since you were around?  That all stops now."

"Look Discord," said Tryston, "I was wrong to make you feel that way.  I'm sorry."

"See," said Discord, "Now you respect me, because I'm a threat.  You won't be getting out of this so easily.  I know Celestia is waiting for you, and when You don't show up, she will be heartbroken.  Then I will swoop in and save the day.  You will be trapped in this ice block, when it is an ice block, until it melts or if some pony saves you.  It is highly unlikely that anypony would find you down here.  Now I must be off."  So Discord picked up the ring and walked away.

"This is not funny Discord!" cried Tryston,"Come back here right now and unfreeze me!"  But it was too late.  Discord was already gone.  "NO!!!!" cried Tryston, "Some pony, any pony!!!!!!! Please!!!!! Help!!!! Plea...." But he was cut short by the freezing ice block that was completed.  Now, everything seemed hopeless.
