Life is Complicated

Tryston walked into the library where the six ponies and dragon were working.  At the instant that he walked in, Twilight ran over to him, a clipboard in her aura.

"Tryston," she said, "There you are.  I'm sure you were catching up with Celestia.  Anyway here's a rough draft of what the design of the room will look like after we're done.  What do you think?"

"I must say," said Tryston, "It is impressive.  But I would'n know how to judge it considering that I've only been here for a short time.  So I say, just continue with your original plans."

"Very well then," said Twilight, "So here's how this is gonna work..." Then she floated the clipboard in front of her.  "Applejack and Pinkie Pie are in charge of  cafeteria duty, so they are working on that portion.  Rarity is working on the decor, so she is using with whatever she can find in her shop.  I'll go into that more another time.  Fluttershy is in charge of animal behavior classes, so she is off to Ponyville to get some animals and supplies.  Rainbow Dash will be in charge of fitness, so she is getting some obstacles set up.  And I will be in charge of Math, Science, Writing, and History."

"It sounds like you have everything under control here," said Tryston, "But I sense that you need me for something."

"That is correct," replied Twilight, "We'll need you to attend the classes that are scheduled for you.  Spike's working on it right now.  You'll probably want to go look at it, just to study it."

"Thank you... Oh, I don't mean to be rude but I don't know your name."

"Oh, I'm sorry.  My name is Twilight Sparkle.  Once every pony gets back in, I'll introduce you."

"Thank you very much Twilight Sparkle.  Is there anything else needed of me at this time?"

"I don't think so, there's else written here that you have to do.  But I'm sure something will turn up."

"Much obliged Miss Sparkle."

"Please, just call me Twilight."

So the ponies worked on their assignments without any complaints.  It took a lot of physical labor, but they all were working their hardest.  In what only seemed like an hour, they got the whole library looking like a classroom.  "Well I'll be darn tootin," said Applejack, "We did good."

"I can agree," said Rarity, "It's hard to believe that we got this all done in a day."

"Of coarse we'd get done in a day," replied Rainbow Dash, "You've got me, the fastest pony in Equestria."

"Now I'm not the pony who means to bring others down," said Pinkie Pie, "But where'd that green pony go?"

"You mean Tryston," said Fluttershy

"Yeah him, where is he?"

"Twilight is keeping him distracted," said Rarity, "You remember that part of the plan where we..."  Then she whispered into Pinkie's ear.

"Oh yeah!," exclaimed Pinkie, "Now I remember!  We should get to it."  So all the ponies ran off to the palace, where the last part of their plan could be set into action.

Meanwhile, Twilight and Tryston were walking down the path down by the park.  The only reason Twilight was doing this was because of the plan.  She was trying to keep Tryston distracted so her friends could carry out the rest of their plan.  Right now she was telling him one of the many adventures she and her friends had.

"So then we channeled our energy through the Elements of Harmony and turned Discord back into stone," she said.

"Wow," said Tryston, "You've had a lot of amazing journeys Twilight.  Back in my time, I'd barely been outside of Canterlot.  Life for me was such a bore, other than dating Celestia.  But you've had so many adventures in your life."

"Well, that's how the world works I guess," said Twilight, "But I just have one question."

"Go ahead. I've been frozen in ice for two thousand years and surprisingly got out of it."

"That's my question.  Why were you frozen in ice."

"Oh that's simple.  Discord froze me in ice because he was jealous of me.  He wanted to keep me and Celestia apart so he could have her.  After he left me, I was crying out for help, but no pony came.  Then, right in the middle of a cry for help, I froze solid.  Then I was that way ever since."

"Wow.  That sure sounds like Discord.  I knew he was trouble, but I didn't know he had a crush on Celestia!"

"And I feel as though he succeeded in his plan.  When you and your friends left after I was awoken, I complimented her on how her beauty has increased.  But she said that she was no longer interested in me.  Now I just want to learn about the workings of Equestria in this time so I can get a job far away from here."

"I understand how you feel Tryston.  I was separated from my family when I went to Ponyville.  But then I felt better after I made friends.  You just need to know that it always gets better."

"You're right Twilight.  It's just that Celesia was my only love.  I don't think I would be able to find some pony else."

"I'm sure you'll find some pony.  Maybe some pony you least expect you love."

Tryston looked down to his hooves.  He pieced together what Twilight just said.  Finally he looked back to Twilight and smiled.  "Thanks Twilight.  You are wise beyond your years."  Just then the two came upon the center of the park.  There on the post was the very Discord entombed in stone.

"Well," said Tryston walking toward the statue, "If it isn't Discord.  You don't think I don't remember what you did to me.  I suppose you sort of succeeded in your plan to take Celestia.  She doesn't want to be with me anymore, but you payed the price.  I should finish you once and for all for what you did me in ice, but I'm feeling generous.  You can stay in one piece.  Consider it a present from an old friend."

"Tryston," said Twilight, "I don't think he can hear you."

"Well," said Tryston looking over to Twilight, "In the event he can here me, I want him to know that after what he did, I don't want to destroy his own being.  I think if I was jealous of him doing something, I would probably do something crazy."

"Well do you think we should be getting back to the castle?" asked Twilight.

"Whenever your ready," replied Tryston.

So they started their journey back to the castle.  Once they arrived, they entered and Tryston followed Twilight to a specific floor and room.  Once they got inside, all Twilight's friends jumped out and yelled,"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"What's going on?" asked Tryston.

"Well,' said Pinkie, "We thought that your gonna need a place to sleep.  So we decided to work on this room so it could be yours."

"Well thank you, all of you," said Tryston, "This is very generous of you."

"There's no need for thanks darling," said Rarity,

"All you have to do is work your flank off to make up for all the centuries you missed out on," said Rainbow Dash

"Very well then," said Tryston, "I feel up for the challenge."

"Then your in for the long haul partner," said Applejack, " 'Cause it's gonna be a long ride."

"Well, you should get to bed," said Twilight, "Your gonna have a long day tomorrow."

"Alright then, Miss Sparkle."  Twilight blushed a bright pink.  'It's nice to know he's prepared for addressing his new teacher by miss.' she thought.  Then all the ponies exited the room to let Tryston get his rest.  But for some reason, Tryston couldn't get to sleep right away.

'There's something about Twilight that seems...odd to me.' he thought.  'I just can't put my hoof on it.'
