Life is Complicated

Twilight and her friends arrived back at the castle.  They reached the chambers of Princess Celestia so so she could see what they found.

"We're back princess," said Twilight, "And your probably going to be shocked at what we found."  Celestia turned her head to see that they had brought back a pony frozen in ice.  Then it was even more shocking when she saw who was in it.

"Oh my!" she cried, "So that's what happened to you Tryston."

"I'm sorry princess, but I don't quite follow," said Twilight, "Do you know him?"

"Yes," replied Celestia,  "His name is Tryston Blauvelt.  I remember him from over two thousand years ago.  He and I used to date.  But then he mysteriously disappeared and no pony saw him since, until today."

"Wow," said Rainbow, "A pony that dated our princess.  Did he treat you good princess? 'Cause if he didn't, then I,m gonna..."

"Yes," replied the princess, "He treated me very kindly.  Thank you for the concern.  But on our fifth anniversary, he mysteriously disappeared.  Now we sort of know what happened, but we don't know who or why.  Twilight, do you think you can unfreeze him.  We have a lot to catch up on."

"I'll try my best princess," said Twilight.

So Twilight faced Tryston, where he lay frozen in ice.  She pointed her horn toward him and it started to glow.  Soon, a huge surge of magic shot out, and blasted the ice block.  In no time at all, Tryston was unfrozen.

"...eeeaaasssseeee help me!!!!!!!!" he cried, "Huh, where am I?"

"Tryston," said Celestia, "It has been a long time since I've seen you.  Last time I saw you was when you left for town."

"Pardon me Celestia," said Tryston, " But what exactly is going on?  How long was I gone for?"

"Well," replied Celestia, "You were frozen in a block of ice.  Now you have woken up over two thousand years later.  Things have changed since you were gone, and your going to need to learn how our new society functions.  ...  Twilight, could you and your friends teach him the ways of modern Equestria?"

"You can count on us princess," said Twilight, "But we're going to need a place to teach."

"Not a problem," said Celestia, "You can use the Canterlot Library.  There should be plenty of books that could help.  Of course you are going to need some other items.  You are welcome to use any of the royal guards for transport help if needed."

"Thank you princess," said Twilight, "With all the help, we can have everything ready by sundown."

"I have faith in you Twilight," said Celestia, "You and your friends will do great."

So they all exited the room and started work.  All, except for Tryston.  The princess had a look of worry on her face.  "Excuse me Celestia, but why are you so worried?"

"Oh, Tryston," she said, "I just feel so, funny.  Like something doesn't feel right even though there is something to be happy about."

"I understand," replied Tryston, "I even just unfroze and don't know what I'm going to do.  You know, thousands of years has not done anything to you.  You are still very beautiful."  Celestia blushed a bright red.

"I appreciate that you still love me Tryston," she said, "But I'm afraid that I can't say the same to you.  Though you are still charming, two thousand years is a long time to wait, and break away from something old.  What I'm trying to say is that, I can't be yours anymore.  I hope there is no hard feelings, but I just don't feel the spark anymore."

"It's okay Celestia," said Tryston, "I understand.  Now I'd better go see if any pony needs help."

Then Tryston exited the room, feeling sadder than he had ever felt before.  'Oh why did I do that,' thought Celestia, 'He was my only love that I ever had.'
