The origins of Glistening Blade Ponyville Royal guard

"Shining Armor where is Glistening Blade" said Princess Celestia.

"I have no idea Princess i'll find him immediately" spat out Shining Armor.

"Oh no where could he be did he oversleep again i swear Blade needs an alarm clock." Shining Armor thought silently to himself.

"I'm coming Shining Armor sorry i over slept". said Glistening Blade as he fell down a flight of stairs and landed right in front of Shining Armor.

"Little nervous today you sure your ready for your assignment"

"Of course i am Shining Armor we have both saved Canterlot together multiple times like when those meteors fell and we made a magic barrier."

"Ok you made your point Blade but this is not an assignment that you can fail."

"Armor you know i can do it didn't you tell Celstia that you wanted me to do this and she agreed."

"That's Princess Celestia Blade and yes i did but this can't be taken as a joke and after seeing you fall down the stairs like that i need to make sure your ready."

"Sorry about that but seriously Armor i think i can handle this i didn't go through all that guard training to be a failure."

"A little over confident now well we need to stop wasting time the princess needs to see you immediately."

"Well lets go then Armor if it's this important then we need to hurry."

"Right Blade lets go."

Shining Armor and Glistening Blade sprinted down the corridor.

They burst through the doors as Blade fell on his face once again.

"Princess i finally found Blade."

"Glistening Blade" said the Princess "Would you like some help up"

"Yes please that would be nice."

Princess Celestia lifted him using her magic.

"Thank you Princess Celestia now about this assignment you need me for can you tell me what it is."

"Well Blade me and Shining Armor feel that you are ready for a special assignment"

"Princess i can handle anything you have me do i'm a royal guard for a reason."

"It's good to see such confidence in a young individual like you."

"Now Shining Armor I think i'll let you do the honors i mean you requested Blade for this job."

"Alright Blade we need you to go on a mission to Ponyville."

"Ok Armor but what is it i'll be doing there."

"Well we have reports that more and more bad things have been happening there so we have decided that your ready to be the royal guard of Ponyville."

"Wait your telling me i'm leaving Canterlot forever"

"Blade it wont be forever we just need you to patrol there and keep the local ponies safe."

"But Armor why does it have to be me defending the castle with you has been my life."

"Let me answer that" said Princess Celestia "Ever since you first set foot in Canterlot i sensed a strange power in you that i didn't understand."

"Princess can we please not talk about when i first arrived it  brings back bad memories."

"Ah yes i remember now your fathers death when he was attacked and the guard didn't save him."

"Yes exactly this is why i joined the guard i promised i would die before any of my fellow citizens do."

"And it is that fire in you that makes you more suited for the job than Shining Armor."

'Well Princess i know what i must do i will defend Ponyville with my life."

"Blade that is the mission you must pursue promise me that you will at least try."

"Princess i cannot promise because with this type of a mission a promise is not strong enough to hold my word."

"This is true Blade may you swear upon your life that you will defend the town."

"Princess i swear on my life."

"Alright before you leave i would like you to have this."

The Princess hands Blade a Book.

"Princess what is this for."

"Blade read the cover."

The cover of the book read seriously advanced and unknown spells.

"Thank you Princess this will be very useful on my journey."

"Now Shining Armor would you like to say anything to Blade before he goes."

"Yes i would Princess."

"Blade i would like to give you my favorite set of armor it's lined with platinum and gold so it might be heavy."

"Armor thank you so much its an honor." said blade as he put on the armor.

"Blade promise me that when you get to Ponyville you will protect my sis shes about your age and her name is Twilight Sparkle."

"Armor i'd do anything to help you i promise."

"Wait blade one more thing be careful" Armor gives Blade a friendly hug. then he says "I love you like your my brother Blade good luck."

"Blade it's time to go" said Princess Celestia.

"Alright bye everyone i'll always think of all of you as my family."

Blade walks out the door and boards the train to Ponyville. Blade sits on the train silently thinking to himself "I need to find Twilight Sparkle i promised  Armor."

As Blade steps off the train he is greeted by a jumping pink pony.

"Hey who are you are you new to town i'm pinkie pie."

"Yes i'm new to town i need to find Twilight Sparkle do you know her."

"Of course shes only like my bestest friend." said pinkie as she jumped around circling blade.

Alright well take me to her please and my name is Glistening Blade.

"I'm going to call you Blade ok."

"Please don't we hardly know one another can  you just take me to Twilight Sparkle."

"Your no fun but ok follow me."

Pinkie pie took Blade to Twilight Sparkles house then she left saying. "You and Twilight will be best friends your both no fun."

Blade knocked on the door and waited for a few moments until he was greeted by a smiling pony.

"Are you Twilight Sparkle" said Blade hoping he completed his first mission in Ponyville.

"Why yes that's me" said Twilight Sparkle as she greeted Blade inside.

"Who are you exactly"

"I'm Glistening Blade i was sent by your brother and Princess Celestia."

"Wait you know Shining Armor."

"Yes Twilight Sparkle i do he was like a brother to me i joined the guard and was with him the whole time."

"Well any friend of Armor's is a friend of mine but it's getting late would you like to stay the night."

"That would be great seeing how i don't have a place to stay."

"Well your welcome to stay here but it's time for bed so let's go."

Blade followed Twilight Sparkle up the stairs and slept in the bed across from her dreaming about all the fantastic adventures he had in Canterlot.
