Dusken Spellwroth, a Unicorn born of the Everfree Forest and now in service to Princess Celestia, is haunted by his past. After troubling events begin to unfold, he is sent to ready the Elements of Harmony, chief amongst them Twilight Sparkle, for the dangers that await. But as Dusken begins his lessons, he uncovers a plot that threatens all of Equestria, and learns that sometimes, the bitterness and hatred he sustains himself with is not enough. The choices he makes could affect life everywhere, and it all hinges on whether he can contain his desire for revenge, embracing the so-called 'magic of friendship,' or take his shot at vengeance, and forget the consequences.

I will try to update this fairly frequently, and will add the categories this story falls under as time goes on, as well as new main characters. This is my first attempt at both, fanfiction, and a story with as much depth as I'm putting into it. I'm toying with the idea of introducing romance in at some point, though I've never really tried my hand at it before. In addition, I rarely make use of first person normally, so it's a refreshing change I'm finding.
