Assassins of the night
Load Full StoryNext ChapterIn the dark corners of Cloudsdale a yellow pegasus mare in plain clothes was walking to her home down a dark street, appearing to be completely unaware of the eyes that were watching her. This proved dangerous for her as a pair of pegasi thugs armed with a broken bottle and a baseball bat approached her. The mare simply stopped in her tracks as the thugs who had grins on their faces slowly walked up to her.
“Well well, looky at what we have here.” One of the thugs said. His buddy just chuckled idiotically as he patted the bat on his hand.
“I see it. A mare ripe for the pickin’.” The other thug said back to his friend as he stared at the chest of the mare.
“Please, I-I don’t want any trouble.’ The mare said in a scared voice. The two thugs just laughed.
“We don’t want any either. So just come with us and we’ll show you a good time.” The thug said as he smiled. The mare tried to back away but thug two just grabbed her around the waist causing her to drop whatever she was carrying. The leader of the pair picked it up and saw that it was an envelope.
“Who’s this for huh? Your coltfriend?’ He asked her. To which the mare responded, with a new found courage, told him “Go buck yourself.” She was slapped by the thug as he opened up the letter. But as he opened it, sand erupted from it and went into the eyes of the thug making him scream in pain as his eyes watered.
“You…. nag!” He said as he grabbed the mare by the neck. “Now I’m really gonna hurt you!” He said as he raised the broken bottle above his head. But then in a flash, a gust of wind appeared over him and his hands seemed to have fallen off, leaving bloody stumps in place. He looked at them for a little bit as he saw the mare, who ripped off her old clothing and was now garbed in dark clothing, held a small knife in her hand.
The thug’s idiotic friend then lumbered forth with his baseball bat raised and he tried to bring it down on her head as she just tripped him and took his baseball bat, snapping it over her knee. The lumbering moron then got back up but before he could charge again he felt something wrap around his neck and looked at it. What he saw made him nearly scream in fear. A knife with a chain attached was wrapped around his neck. He barely managed to let out a yelp of pain as the gruesome weapon then slit his throat leaving him choking on his own blood.
The yellow mare then took her knife and rammed it at the corner of the thug’s stomach making him release a grunt of pain. Then slowly, she moved the knife, making his crimson blood leak out of him. He tried to scream, but the pain was just too much for him. Then with a quick thrust, she sliced his stomach completely open, making his intestines fall onto the ground with a wet and slimy thump. The mare stepped back and watched as the thug tried to place the organs back into himself.
“W-what are you?” Were his last words as the mare jammed her knife into the stallion’s temple.
“I’m death on two legs asshole.” She said as she pulled her knife out of his head. The body slumped into the ground as she wiped the blood off her knife with her street clothes. She then looked around and made sure the coast was clear before she yelled out, “You can come out of the shadows now! Nopony else is around!” The mare shouted. As she did this, though, a figure appeared to be literally coming out of a wall before it stepped into a flickering street lamp.
The figure was another Pegasus mare wearing a garb. Except it was the colors of blue and black stripes. She wore a metallic mouth cover that was blue, like the stripes on her garb. Her mane was placed in a ponytail on the back of her neck and it was the color of shadow black like her tail. On her waist was a katana and some throwing stars. “Nice work. For a trainee you learn really fast.” The blue pegasus told her apprentice who bowed in respect. “I would say it was flawless but you allowed me to assist you. There will be a time when I can’t help you. No matter what our code says I can’t be there for you all the time.” She continued. Her apprentice then bowed in shame before she felt a hand lift her head up. “Don’t get me wrong you did great tonight. Now help me dispose of the bodies ‘kay?” the masked pegasus said.
“Alright sensei.” She replied as she bowed. The two then grabbed the two corpses and dragged them towards a manhole. Using her strength, the blue mare pried the cover off of the manhole and they dropped the bodies in.
“Excellent. Now, let’s head home.” The blue mare said as she closed the manhole. The yellow mare nodded as she picked a pellet from her belt and dropped it. The smoke covered both of them as they left the scene in silence. They arrived at the blue mare’s dojo and opened a backdoor entrance to it. They took off their outfits and put them up in their respective holders. The blue mare walked over to her sink and washed the black dye from her mane and tail, revealing that it was they were actually the colors of the rainbow. The yellow mare used the sink to wash off the blood from her fur.
The two mares even though they were ninjas were also famous. They were two of the Elements Of Harmony. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Rainbow was the first to start relaxing as she stretched her arms out in a yawn. She had long nights but it took Fluttershy forever to get those two idiots to make a move. Speaking of who Fluttershy was over by their computer to make sure that the money was transferred over clean and no hiccups happened. She was hired by Rainbow Dash to work at her Dojo as its accountant. And in secret she was the apprentice of the mare.
“So Rainbow Dash, can I get us some food? I know I’m hungry from the mission.” She said to her.
“Sure. Just make sure it’s one of those good places too. Last place I found a roach in my Chow Mein.” Rainbow said back. Rainbow bought the dojo due to some money her late parents left for her so that she could have her own place to live in. She already worked for the weather team in Ponyville but that wasn't really bringing in the big bits, even though the team was really nice to her. She soon made her new home into a part time dojo as well, Applebloom was one of her earliest younglings to join her and she still came, and it went off without a hitch. She was starting to make more money but that was just a cover so that she could do the real family business. Her whole family were descendant down a long line of great assassins who only killed the corrupt and the unjust.
“Rainbow, is the Dojo open tomorrow?” Fluttershy asked.
“No. Why?” She asked in replying.
“Because I wondering if we could go somewhere tomorrow. Like the mall.” Fluttershy explained. Rainbow turned towards her with a small smile.
“Sorry Flutters but I have another job too you know? The Weather Team?” The cyan blue mare reminded her. Fluttershy blushed as she remembered Rainbow’s other job. As Rainbow got up to leave, though, the telephone rang at her desk. Curious as to who it was Fluttershy picked it up.
“H-Hello. Rainbow Dash’s Dojo. Fluttershy speaking.” She said. Her eyes soon shot open as she recognized the voice on the phone, it was the voice of Rainbow Dash’s mentor and he sounded urgent.
“Is Rainbow-San there? I need to speak with her urgently.” The stallion said. She quickly passed the phone to the mare and heard the conversation.
“Sensei, what is it?..... What?...... Whoa whoa, slow down and tell me what happened……. Alright. I’m on my way.” She said as she hung up the phone. Rainbow then walked over and got out a kimono and put it on.
“W-What happened?” Fluttershy asked as Rainbow was tying the bow to her dress.
“Somepony…. placed a hit out on Twilight.”
