1 Lets start at the very beggining.

Gray Matter was born in a cave somewhere near the mountians of Macintosh (Seen on the map). He was raised by bats. The bats brough him food and gave him lessons of hunting. There was one thing that Gray Matter wanted to do aswell;  Being Royal and Polite. The bats didn't quite like his idea of Royalty and politeness so they just ignored his thoughts.

There was also one thing that made this pony so different from the others, his way of seeing the world. He understood day as the bright encouragment of energy inside us. He understood night as the time to spend taht energy and or save it for later. The bats never letted him go out on the sun because they were afraid that he might die. So the only time that he could actually go outside his cave was at night. Of course he wasnt much of an adventurus pony, but still likes to feel the fresh wind in his mane.

Years have passed and the bats were getting older. Some even died witch made Gray very sad. When the time has come and Gray Matter was officially 19 years old the bats said "Make us proud on your quest around this world our son." Gray Matter replied "Don't worry my loved ones, I shall make you proud so you may look down on me from the stars as a hero." Gray Matter left the cave that night. Leaving all of his loved ones behind. As he traveled for a long time he saw Appleousa and the stampeding grounds. It was getting brighter and brighter as he aproched Ponyville.

Day was nearly among him. He heard very bad things about the day so he took a stop in the Everfree Forest. Since he was used to dark and creepy places like these he carried on without caring of any strange noices. He had an encounter with timber wolfs witch he beated without even trying. The timber wolf's know him as "The Slayer". He started to hear pony laughter and fun. Out of the bushes came a big source of light and there he saw it, Ponyville.

He saw three little fillies coming his way shouting "Mister! Hey Mister!" Gray Matter was shy so he decided to hide, but before he could do it it was too late. "What do you want little ones?" He said. The three fillies reply "Hi, we are the Cutie Mark Crusaders and we have never seen you around..." Gray Matter replies "No wonder I just came to these lands from my home." The Cutie Mark Crusaders reply "Oh okay. However my name is Applebloom. These are Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle." Gray Matter nods and says "I'm Gray Matter" the CMC say "Hi, Gray Matter!" Gray Matter smiles and then says "It's really nice to meet you, but I must go now..." The Cutie Mark Crusaders watch him go into Ponyville. Three other suspicious ponies watched him from trees. The three suspicious ponies followed him all the way to a big mountian where they lived.

Gray Matter looks up and he thought to himself "Must be a home to bats. Perhaps they wouldn't mind if I look around a little bit..." As he aproaches the cave he can see three shadows right above him. He decided to play the shadow's game and pretended like he didn't see them. He gets to the cave and steps in. He then quickly hides behind the corner and decides to suprise attack the three mysterious shadows. The shadows got near and they started saying "Where did he go?!". Gray Matter then jumps out and nearly shocks all the ponies taht were following him. As the three ponies noticed that it was a joke they all laughed. Meanwhile they laughed he looked at their wings and their eyes. They were Bat ponies like him. The grey guy said "Welcome brother, we thought there were none of us left!" Gray Matter looked very suprised as he heard the word "Brother". He said "Brother? What do you mean by that gray one?" The gray bat pony laughed and said "Please call me Aux Tism. And if you hadn't noticed, we are all bat ponies!" Gray Matter asked slowly "Bat...Ponies..?" The Dark purple one says "You were raised by bats, taht means you are a bat pony." Gray Matter replied "Ah, so what is your name Dark purple one?" MoonBeam replies "I am MoonBeam, the teams hunter. And this mare beside me is Jasmine. Quite a mare if you ask me..." Now that Gray Matter saw that everything is safe, he asked "Are there any more of you?" MoonBeam replies "Yes a couple of more but not a lot..." Aux quickly says "26 to be exact." Gray Matter then said "It's umm... very nice to meet you and all...." "Yes?" Say all of them at once, "But ummm... I kinda have to go... I must attend something...". One of them named Scarlet looked at me and said weakly "Will you come back?" Gray Matter see's something in her eyes but ignore sthe thought and says "Cross my heart I shall!" The Bat ponies cheered and Gray Matter was on his way to Canterlot.
