I Will Catch You.........
Please Don't Do That......
Load Full StoryNext ChapterDerpy stared down at the cliff before her. A tear streamed down her face. She wandered into the Everfree Forest, and found the highest cliff. She had already tripped and fell down a steep hill into a thorn bush, causing her to have a bunch of scratches and a sprained ankle. She had a rope wrapped around her mid-section, to keep her wings closed. As you would've guessed, Derpy was intending on committing suicide. She had enough of the teasing and laughing. She just didn't know what went wrong. She tried to tell them that she didn't want her eyes like that, but the teasing and the pain continued.
She had a unicorn filly, named Dinky. She knew Dinky would be devastated if Derpy wasn't there for her, but she couldn't live like this anymore. The worst had consumed her. By now she was crying harder. Nobody liked her. They would call her useless, annoying, dumb, strange, stupid, lame or a miss fit. Some ponies would say she looked or sounded weird.
Once, she was trying to befriend a stallion when he lashed out at her. He said he hated her, and wanted her to leave and never see her again.
She took one last breath as a tear ran down her wet face and leaped of the edge of the cliff. She started falling, but soon stopped, and she noticed the ground wasn't getting any closer. She looked up to see a bright pink hoof gripping on to her own grey one.
"Derpy, what are you doing?" A calm voice asked. Derpy looked up to see Pinkie Pie. But instead of smiling, she had tears streaming down her face and she looked sad. "Please, don't do that...." She said. Derpy's eyes went slightly straiter.
"I........." Before Derpy could say anything, she bursted into tears. Pinkie hoisted Derpy back up onto the cliff and let her cry into her chest.
"Shhhhhhh...." Pinkie said as she stroked Derpy's mane. She looked back up at Pinkie with her wall-eyed stare. She sniffled.
"I'm sorry, Pinkie. I-I" She started sobbing again. She felt light headed, as the cuts on her body were dripping more blood now. "P-Pinkie, I don't.... feel so.... good..." She said. The last thing she saw was Pinkie's warming smile, before she went out cold. Pinkie frowned, and somehow got Derpy on her back. She slowly departed from the cliff, into the depths of the Everfree Forest.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pinkie was hearing a great deal of different noises, and was becoming scared. She felt the slumbering creature on her back stir. She twisted her head around like an owl.
"How ya doin', Derpy?" She asked, in her usual exited manner.
"Tired." Derpy responded. She looked more pale than before, so Pinkie quickened her pace. They had already passed Zecora's hut, which was near the exit of the forest. She spotted a cockatrice and froze in her spot.
"Derpy, do not move." She whispered.
"Wh-" She began.
"Shhhh!" Pinkie said. The cockatrice wandered onto the road and inspected Pinkie. Pinkie was holding her breath and sweat beads were forming on her forehead and the back of her neck. It gobbled once, and scurried into the bushes. Pinkie let out her breath, and her purple face turned back to pink.
"What was that?" Derpy asked, weakly. Pinkie twisted her head around and their noses were almost touching.
"That was a cockatrice! If you look into its eyes, it will turn you to stone!" Derpy looked frightened.
"O-oh, I wouldn't want that to happen." She responded.
"I know! That's why I told you to be quiet and not to move!" She said. "I'll get you to Sugarcube Corner and bandage you up!" She added.
"Ok..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They reached Sugarcube Corner after at least two hours of walking. Pinkie wasn't in such good shape either, considering she carried basically her own weight on her back for that long. She gently dumped Derpy onto her bed and collapsed on the floor. She took a breather for five minutes, and left the room to retrieve a first aid kit.
As Pinkie placed bandages on Derpy's cuts she asked Derpy a question.
"Why did you try to commit suicide?" Pinkie asked.
Derpy's ears drooped "I couldn't take it anymore!" She cried. "Ponies were teasing me, hurting me, making fun of me!" She continued. "It's always been this way." She mumbled the last part.
Due to Pinkie's amazing hearing, she heard the last little bit. "Even when you were a filly?" She asked.
"Yeah. Everyday, other fillies and colts would hurt me and make fun of me." Her eyes started to well up. "And-and when I got home, my parents treated me teribbly. My dad was always drunk and they treated me like I was stupid. One day, they gave up. They said 'NOBODY WANTS A UNBRIGHT FILLY LIKE YOURSELF!' My father dragged me to the front door and just thee me outside and slammed the door. I walked away and found Cherilie. She took me in until I grew up. When I left for the outside world, I thought there would be no more mean ponies. Turns out there still was." She started full on crying again.
"That doesn't sound happy at all!" Derpy sniffled.
"It wasn't." She stated the obvious. As soon as she stopped sobbing, she fell asleep on Pinkie's lap. She gently lifted Derpy's head onto her pillow and layed down beside her.
Derpy didn't have the most pleasant of dreams. She had dreams of colts and fillies making fun of her eyes.
A single tear escaped her golden eyes as she slept unfitfuly.
