Fashion Disaster!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Rich rapped on the door of Carousel Boutique, and his knock was quickly met with a loud, "Come in!" ,from behind the doors. He opened up the door and let Diamond inside before trotting in and shutting it. "Mrs. Rarity?" Filthy called, looking around. The fashionista was no where to be seen...

"Right here darling!" Came from the voice of Rarity, who was poking her head out from behind some curtains. "What can I help you with? Is little Tiara here having another party? Oh, I have the perfect dress for that! It would stunning with your mane darling." The white unicorn said, slipping out from behind the curtains and trotting over to Diamond, admiring her mane. Rich sighed silently then perked up his attitude. "Actually, no. I need a foal-sitter for Tiara, just for today though." He explained to Rarity, who seemed a little disappointed that she could not give her the outfit. Diamond saw this and even though Rarity was her enemy's older sister, she still liked her. Oh, and of course she wanted the dress. "I still want the dress." The pink filly replied, happy to see that Rarity smiled back.

"Well, I don't know about foal-sitting. The dress is fine but Opal..." The unicorn trailed off, looking around nervously for her persian cat, who was nowhere to be seen at the moment.

"Ugh, that raggedy old thing? Why don't you just get rid of her already?" Tiara asked impatiently, narrowing her eyes upon remembering how Opal disliked her.

Hsssss.. Rarity winced at the hissing sound and turned her head, seeing Opal, her fur raised and claws unsheathed. "O-Opal darling Tiara didn't mean raggedy in a bad way...r-raggedy is in this season don't you know?" She said, trying to calm her cat. But it was too late, the persian beast was already lunging at none other than Diamond Tiara. Luckily, the pink earth filly had seen this coming, so she had bolted out the door, which closed just in time. Opal crashed into the door with a groan.

"I really don't think this is a good idea.." Rarity said with a nervous chuckle as she picked up her hissing cat. Rich nodded and trotted out the door without another word. Tiara frowned when she saw him. "I still want the dress." She said before trotting nervously back inside. "Rarity?" The filly called through the open crack.

"Come in darling, I've put Opal upstairs." Rarity replied, opening the door the rest of her way with her magic. Tiara trotted inside, glancing back at her unhappy father. With a roll of her eyes, she closed the door and continued on her way inside. "Where's that dress?" She asked, looking around.

"Oh, yes! The dress! Just give me moment." The fashionable mare replied, rushing off to the back of her boutique. Seconds later she came back with a simple pink dress. Rarity must've seen the disapproving look on the pink filly's face, because she chuckled and said, "I'm going to add more, I'd just like to see it on you."

Before long, Diamond Tiara was in the dress, and Rarity was making quick alterations and adding lace, ribbon and jewels. "It's going to look fabulous, trust me!" She said, squinting her eyes through her glasses as she worked.

Opal was upstairs, prowling around the Rarity's room. Little did Rarity remember, there was a cat door. Opal, being a surprisingly smart cat, did not go through quite yet. She was waiting for the perfect chance to strike. Now was the time. The spoiled cat slipped through the flap with grace and silently padded down the stairs, creeping up on Diamond Tiara while her and Rarity were distracted. With a smug grin and a silent Hissss, she lunged at the purple maned filly. Before anypony knew what was happening, Opal had ripped through the dress and was now working on Diamond's tail.

"What is going on here!?" Rich demanded as he barged through the door. Rarity managed to grab Opal and pull her off of the poor pink filly. "I am so so so sorry darling..." She said while Opal clawed at the air, being held back by her blue magic bubble.

"All I wanted was a dress!" Tiara whined. Her once beautiful looking dress was now a complete fashion disaster! The fabric was torn up, ribbon and lace had been ripped to shreds. It looked like she just came off the streets.

"Well, I will certainly not have my daughter stay here with that vicious beast.'" Rich said, narrowing his eyes at Opal, who hissed and pawed at the air.

"I'm terribly sorry about that I really am." Rarity said guiltily. Tiara narrowed her eyes and kept them narrowed as she slipped off the ruined dress. "Whatever. Lets go.." She said as she trotted out the door wearing an annoyed expression on her usually smug face.

"I'll try and make it up to you darling!" Rarity called after them as they slammed the door shut.

Tiara was working on fixing her tail, pulling out the strands that had been ripped apart. "I'm never going there again!" She exclaimed. Usually she liked Rarity but now she hated her and her cat.
