Previous ChapterUrrrg! I HATE these formal events! Most of these actually do end this way, with me being beat up, just not usually in this manner. Hmmm? I wonder if I could use this as an excuse to get out of the next formal event. As soon as I woke up, I saw the prettiest mare I’d ever seen. “Gosh you’re beautiful.” I thought drowsily, wait, she looked taken aback. “By my sister’s tail, did I just say that outloud?”
“‘Fraid so,” cough cough “your highness. Okayifyou’leverforgivemeI’m REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY sorry!” she cringed and turned away, lifting her hoof as If to leave, but not.She seemed to forget my blunder. I smirked (though not in a mean way, I just thought her silly to be this worried, also because I found it endearing when after a while she opened an eye to peer at me)
“Okay,” she said fully turning back, “I know that I just did something really unseemly, but I’m no pony to be taken advantage of.” she said firmly.
“Oh! no, nonono! I was just thinking how silly it is to be afraid of me.” I said putting a hoof behind my neck and smiling. She did the same almost out of instinct, but adding a blush. “Hey, I’ll forget what you did if you forget what I said, okay?” I held out a hoof, she tentatively shook it. She really was beautiful, she had deep green eyes, a long brown, though slightly red mane, and a beautiful light grey coat, almost silver. Oh no! She just said something what to say, what to say! “Oh, by the way, my name’s Maroon Illusion, you don’t have to call me your highness any more.” She looked perturbed
“I know your name, and as I said before, do you want some froth tea?”
“What’s that?” and why do you even call it that?
“It’s something pep whips up, it’s really good.” she motioned for me to follow.
“You’re rather young to be living on your own.” that was a mistake, she immediately turned on me like a rabid piranha.
“Oh yeah!! While you’re not much older than me, but you’re going to inherit a kingdom one day, so you’re not much of one to be talking are you!” she said it so gruffly I backed up.
“Here’s your drink.” she said meekly with her head turned down. “Don’t forget our deal.”
“I didn’t mean anything by it, I’m sorry, really, I am.”
“I-it’s okay, neither did I, and, thanks, ya’ know, for saying sorry. Not many people do, not that they, or you have to. It’s just nice.”
“Hmm, would you like me to walk you to the meeting?” she looked as if she was about to say no, then I added with what I hope was a devilish grin “They’d be less likely to maim me if you were there.”
With a devilish grin on her own face she started to walk past me and as she did she said, “I know what you’re doing, I do it as well.”
