When You Say Nothing At All

It was April 12th, meaning it was Austin and his twin sister Ella's 14th birthday! I always acted like a Fluffle Puff around Austin because if he was lying on the couch, oblivious to his surroundings and checking his phone, I'd snuggle up on top of him, and he'd say: "My Fluffle Puff,". My general response was a squeak.

But this birthday was, unusual. I woke up on Saturday, went to the bathroom, expecting a tangled, blonde mess on my head. But when I looked in the mirror, I had pink hair on my head. No, not just on my head, all over my body! I was already staying the night at Austin and Ella's house, I didn't need their mother asking where the heck I am!

I quickly grabbed up a pencil and notepad so I could translate my raspberries. I only hoped I could tell Austin what had happened. As I entered the living room, I noticed Austin laying on the couch, so I did what I usually do. But I let him know I was getting up there to talk to him. I tried to say "Sit up, Austin,", but all that came out was "Pfbffblbllb". He looked over to the side and responded with the upmost confusion.

"Fluffle Puff? Is this real? Where the heck is Jade?". He pinched himself, but then added an "Ouch!". I quickly wrote up the translation, and he sat up. I sat next to him and I tried to say.

"I somehow turned into Fluffle Puff and I don't know how to turn back,", but of course, all that came out was "Pfffbllbffffbbbbfllllbffbbpbff,". Austin raised an eyebrow, and I rolled my eyes and wrote down what was supposed to come out.

"Why don't you just talk?" He asked. I glared at him, and tried to say.

"I've tried, but all that comes out is 'Pfbbllp',", but, like I've done for the past ten minutes. "Pffbbbff, pfbfffbbfflllllpffttf 'Pfbbllp,'". He raised is brow. I wrote down what I meant to say, and he nodded.

"Maybe I can teach u how to talk?" He suggested. I cocked my head, then a squeak, I mean, gasp slipped my lips. "You like that, don't you?" He asked, petting me. I instantly knew how dogs felt, and rolled over like a dog. He laughed and pulled me to his cold body. It was cold outside and I was always warm. Now, my surface of my skin cannot get chilled. I wrapped my, now, hooves around him and kept him warm.

But at some point, Ella awoke to the sound of Austin and me playing around. I heard her footsteps, and tried to hide behind the couch, but she was too quick for me. Do you know how hard it is to move with fur as big as your body?! Anyway, she asked alarmingly. "What the heck is that pink cotton ball?!". I glared at her, and Austin responded for me.

"Actually, it's Jade, but, she turned into Fluffle Puff...". Ella raised an eyebrow and pinched herself. Of course, it hurt. She wasn't dreaming, and neither was Austin. He looked over to me, and Ella was just plain befuddled, and asked her brother where all of the Monster Energy drinks were. He said that they were in the fridge, and I gasped, but he shook his head and said to my sad face.

"I'm sorry, Jadie, but you're a pony now, energy drinks might be dangerous to you,". I felt like he was treating me like a baby! A pink, fluffy baby. But really, how bad could it possibly get?
