In Which, Yoshi Does Stuff
Previous ChapterNext ChapterIn Which, Yoshi Does Stuff
Many hours has pass since Princess Luna’s giant glowing rock has finally settle itself down, while her sister proceeded to raise the enormous ball of fire in its place, signaling a new day has begun. Gone with the stars as they cleared away to leave nothing but a clear blue sky. Bland of the sort, nothing special or anything worthwhile to gaze upon other than the burning ball slowly maneuvering across the sky to specify every living creature that it’s day time. But what more could be provided? There’s only so little originality the Princess of the Sun can even offer with this display of a blue atmosphere.
Isn’t moving a nuclear furnace around the world good enough?
Anyways, it was another lovely mid-morning day in Ponyville. Everypony was out and going about their businesses as usual. Business shops, stands, and stores are open to the town public; ponies are buying what they need to restock on products or what they want in specific interest. Stallions and mares alike mingled with their friends, families, and others as the day rolls on. Store owners are pitching in special sales on their stocks in order to compete against rival businesses. Davenport, a stallion pony and owner of his ‘Quills & Sofa’ shop, wasn’t exactly happy with the newly constructed and now opened for business ‘Pens & Furniture’ building across the street.
All in all, nothing out of the ordinary in the ‘slice of life’ Ponyville!
…well, except, maybe there are a few growing complaints here….and there….
Ponyville’s civilians are on constant high alert.
Ever since yesterday the town has been going through a bit of a crisis with all of the weird ‘mumbo jumbo’ happening all around their home. Many of the pony inhabitants have to double check their surroundings and kept their ears high to detect any unnatural noises. Some of the mares carried around baseball bats and frying pans, just in case. Some of the stallions wore various hats and helmets that hid their whole mane and their tails are covered behind casual pants, because they heard what happen to a certain Pegasus last night and they are not going take the risk. A great number of the general public have a tendency to spread rumors. Rumors that will spread like a virus and get the attention of everypony in town, which will then turn into a full blown conspiracy if it connects with the problems at hoof.
There are a lot of problems in Ponyville right now…
And what better way to solve the problem? Why, the answer is simple; report it to somepony! But who exactly? Just who in the right order of position and power that the ponies can deliver their mutual complaints to? Well…Ponyville just so happens to be run by a mayor…
Mayor Mare the mare who is the Mayor of mare’s mareness-es whose the mare-st of a mare with mayor-y qualities-- (I can’t do this, there’s a joke in there somewhere).
Anyways, Mayor Mare sat behind her wide desk, which was hoofcrafted from the bark of orichalcum trees that were fused with mahogany materials. It was imported straight from the Crystal Empire. It cost the pony mare a flank load of bits, but it was worth every gold piece.
It made a certain teacher pony’s desk look like a piece of sh-
As previously stated, the mayor pony was seated behind her amazing workplace. Her pale, light grayish amber coated hoof worked overtime as she signed, scribbled, and wrote documents after documents of filed paper work from the ridiculously stack piles of the towns complaints. After another paper was signed off, Mayor Mare grabbed another from the stack that threatens to tumble over every now and then. She sweeps a patch of her bluish gray and lighter streak mane away from her vision as she skims through the lengthy and overly exasperated worded wall of text. She momentarily stopped reading and let out an aggravated groan. Being mayor of a whole town comes with many perks, but also its drawbacks. Nothing new to her. When she was first elected as Ponyville’s Mayor she knew what future line of work awaits her; she knew what she’ll have to deal with. She has, after all, been doing this for years, even got reelected…twice.
But this…all these sudden growing problems and reports all over her town…it’s like…really? Mayor Mare’s phthalo blue eyes resumes scanning every pointless word on the paper, not really reading anything as her mind drifted off to major topics of previously read reports while her eyes are on auto-pilot. The citizens of Ponyville are a complete nervous wreck. So far there have been countless reports on break-ins, stolen products, property invasion and destruction, anonymous threats, bombing, arson, attempt foalnapping, and-- this was the tip of the iceberg-- giant monster sightings. Just as soon as she read the part about a flying spaghetti, that’s when she finally lost it.
Mayor Mare slammed both of her hooves on her desk. The force was enough to make her stack of paperwork fall and cover the floor. “No.” She simply declared, staring straight ahead for a second before moving away from workplace. “No.” The grayish amber mare stated again. “No. Buck this. I’m on vacation.”
Mayor Mare grabbed both of her suitcases nearby that were conveniently packed, and she proceeds to leave the Town Hall building, hoping inside of a carriage that was conveniently parked in front of her home.
“Where would you like to go, ma’am?” the stallion driver asked.
“To Canterlot please, specifically the fanciest motel you can find.” She requested while getting herself comfortable.
“Can do.” The pony stated before pulling the carriage along, heading their way out of town.
As the carriage pony driver made his way through the streets of Ponyville, the carriage pass by the Bookshop. The doors open afterwards with a baby dragon carrying a few books and a pony mare walking out with a bundle of volumes gripped in her magic.
“Thanks again for the discount on the books!” said Twilight Sparkle at the cashier before the frontdoor fully closes. She and her number one assistant, Spike, walked down the block heading towards the Golden Oak Library. Twilight practically had a joyous spring in each step. “Oh whoa, I can’t believe the entire complete series of ‘Giga Griffon the Unjust: Theories of the Cosmic Havens’ volumes 1-9 were just sitting there in the back rows of the store’s shelves!” The lavender mare stated almost giddily.
“Oh yeah. That’s really somethin’.” Spike answered blandly.
Twilight didn’t catch the cynical tone in her little dragon assistant’s voice. “I know isn’t it great? A few centuries ago Giga is the very first Griffon in history to ever accomplish a feat to study the cosmetic forces of the celestial energies within the outer reaches of space! All without the use of magic! Isn’t that amazing?!”
“Meh, it’s so-so.”
“Within these pages are clawwritten details and statistics of Giga’s discovery! Hundreds of years of almost thought to be long lost information and to think I merely bought them at such a low price!” The lavender mare can barely contain herself as she clapped her hooves together with a bright smile paste on her face.
The baby dragon raised a speculating brow at his mentor/guardian/slave driver/adopted-mother/best friend. “…yeah. You know, it’s kinda funny how such ‘ancient’ and ‘long lost’ books were instantly 90% off by the cashier.”
“It was probably a customer appreciation day. Oh, maybe I’ve won some sort of reward for being the 1000th customer to be check-out!”
Spike narrowed his eyes with a playful small smirk appearing. “…or, perhaps it’s because-- oh I don’t know, because you’re really popular?”
Twilight slowed her pace to a completed stop, as did Spike, the second those words enter her head. “What? Wha-- popular?” She shook her head as if the statement alone was implausible. “Don’t be ridiculous, Spike, I’m just regular ‘ol Twilight.”
The little reptile countered by rolling his eyes before continuing onwards. “Sure, whatever you say your ‘M’.”
Twilight instinctively flex-- she an Alicorn by the way, if…if you didn’t know……so now you know…-- Twilight instinctively flexed her wings after getting even the slightest hint of her now current title. Yes, as an Alicorn Princess, Twilight Sparkle has been getting a lot of attention then she usually does. Getting discounts was just barely the scratch of the surface; sometimes the Ponyville citizens will just throw free stuff at her.
Quite literally…
Even the stallions have been a lot more communicative towards her than ‘regular Twilight’. You don’t get bonus points for playing as the hot librarian these days. Nopony think books are smexy! …well, Ponyville for all Twilight knows… Being a princess did give her some benefits.
…too many benefits.
The lavender Alicorn caught up with her dragon assistant, her books hovering by her side in her magical grasps. She threw him a challenging look, aware that his teasing at her self-proclaim statement of being ‘regularly normal’ was his effective fort to get under her fur. In truth, her excuse was a mask to cover up the fact that she really did love getting all of this attention that ‘old Twilight’ never got. “Oh really? Well, Spike, my most reliable subordinate, please pry tell of any evidence that will support your case.”
“Hmmm…weeell. Remember that one specific incident with Derpy?”
==FLASHBACK==
Twilight Sparkle was simply minding her own business while trotting down the afternoon streets of Ponyville. While the laven-- she’s now a Unicorn....in this flashback. …just…just making it clear…so yeah…
…anyways, the lavender Unicorn was walking when suddenly she was joined side-by-side with a light-gray Pegasus, Ditzy ‘Derpy’ Doo. Twilight acknowledged with a smile, but then after awhile she realized that wherever she goes the mail delivering Pegasus will follow suit. She stops to face the cross-eyed mare. “Um, Derpy…can I help you with anything?”
“No thanks, I’m fine.” Derpy replied with a smile.
“Ooookay…mind if I ask why you’re following me around?”
“The ‘Higher-ups’ told me to.” she simply answered.
Twilight raised an eyebrow. “Higher-ups?”
“Uh huh, I was told to fellow you around all day to make you look more noticeable in comparison.”
“What?!” the Unicorn pony was shock and insulted. “That’s ridiculous, I don’t nee-“
Filthy Rich interrupts her while walking by. “Why, good afternoon Ms. Sparkle. I must say, you’re looking quite lovely today.”
Twilight instantly pulled Derpy closer. She has a huge grin on her face. “Thank you!”
==PRESENT==
The young Alicorn mare shook her head in disagreement. “Spike, that was a long time ago. How does that even count with me right now?”
“Uhhh…” Spike simply answered her question by gesturing to a certain Pegasus mare tied on her back in rope, who, apparently, was entirely unnoticed until now. Twilight nervously skims her eyes everywhere else, not wanting to acknowledge the slight movement from the mailmare who was forcefully tied down against her will. Spike got a good look at the poor pony. Her fur and mane was unkempt as if she hasn’t been properly groomed in days. How long has Twilight kept her like this? It was nothing short of amazing that nopony else has said a word.
“…um, Princess?” Derpy finally spoke up. “I need to…use the little filly’s room…”
Twilight quickly shot her head towards the mailmare. “Your princess orders you to stay silent!”
“Yes ma’am!” The light-gray Pegasus squealed from fright and remains motionless.
The lavender mare turned back to Spike, who now bares a deadpanned expression while shaking his head slightly. The young Alicorn hanged her head and sighed, feeling somewhat embarrassed. Spike was right. Despite her best cautious to remain normal with her status, getting all of this attention got the best of her. For crying out loud, she’s using another pony to make herself appear more noticeable just because she was a lesser being. She’s already a PRINCESS, how much more attention does she need? Focusing her magic Twilight manipulated the bonding ropes around her and the mailmare, loosening them up so Derpy can fall on the ground and galloped away. Twilight made a mental note to apologies later…
”Oh boy…” She thought with a mental sigh. ”I sure hope the entire town doesn’t count a strike against my actions. Things already are bad enough as it is...”
With that topic in mind, Twilight has just remembered that she promised a specific farm pony with her aid at the orchards. With all of the reckless occurrences happening all around Ponyville, Twilight and her friends has taken upon themselves to try and solve the pileup issues. Harmony was starting to shatter in itself in this very town, their home. Who’s job is it to retain that peace is nopony else but the six Bearers of Harmony! …well, five-- scratch that-- four actually; Fluttershy’s sudden disappearance was a entirely new problem on its own, and Rainbow Dash, unfortunately for timing, was selected to join the Wonder Bolts on tour across Equestria and won’t be back until next week. Twilight is hoping that letter she wrote will reach her soon. All of Ponyville is going through some major problems and one of her best friends has gone missing.
What a pickle.
The purple scale dragon let out a small yelp when he was unexpectedly lifted in the air by some sort of force that bended his will against him. Once he was place down on something soft and furry, Spike came to understand that it was Twilight Sparkle who did that in her sudden decision to rush things along. Once again the lavender princess mare use her magic, this time grasping the two books in Spike’s possession, teleporting them along with the ones she still held in her magical field to the interior library.
Twilight looked back to her assistant with a sheepish grin. “Sorry, but we need to hurry. Applejack is waiting for us, and I don’t want to keep her on standby especially with all of this craziness happening in town.”
“Ponyville is going on a crisis and you found enough time to shop for books.” Spike stated as the young Alicorn princess trotted onwards. “Are you sure you’re alright in that giant mind of yours? You’ve seem more unfocused, which is unusual.”
Twilight, still moving, turned her head back at her passenger with a raise eyebrow. “Are you kidding me? I am, in fact, on top of the situation and can easily identify anypony or anything that seems unbefitting.” Right after she said that, the young Alicorn mare suddenly bumped into somepony, making that pony fall on the ground with a surprise squeak-like yelp. “Oops! I’m so sorry!” Twilight was quick to apologies and helped the pony back on its feet. “Sorry, should have looked where was I going.” Feeling embarrassed, and knowing her baby dragon assistant will use this as an arsenal in their next debate, Twilight quickly spread her wings and took flight, heading straight for Sweet Apple Acres.
If Twilight was more focus and wasn’t struggling with her newfound attention whoring, probably, maybe, perhaps she’ll notice how ’unbefitting’ the pony she rammed into was…

EARILER
Out on the far side of Ponyville and near the boarders of the Everfree Forest, there lies a wooden cottage. Within the confines of the house was nothing but silent, only with the exception of faint snoring coming from the next floor up. The mid-morning golden sunlight pierce through the windows of the cottage, directing their rays on the figure that lay spread out in a lewd position on the comfy mattress. After a few loud exhale of breathing from the mouth, the sunrays that blanket his face, eventually, made Yoshi jolt awake from his peaceful slumber.
Yoshi stretch his arms wide with a yawn. After setting them down he then scratch the side of his stomach. The green reptile took notice that his long tongue, slightly dry, was hanging out of the side of his mouth, so he rolled it up and place it back in its rightful place.
Before he was awoken Yoshi was having the most pleasant dream he has ever gotten. Let’s just say it involves lots and lots of fruits. But then again, isn’t that what all Yoshis dream about?
Yoshi hops out of bed making his way towards the door of the room. He briefly wondered who is the owner of this house and if he/she/it may or may not have returned. Taking absolutely no notice of the breaking-snap sounds of the picture frame being stepped on from the floor, our reptilian hero made his way onto ground level and proceeded to do the number one thing that he always do when he wakes up in a strangers home in the morning.
He raided their food cabinets. No shame what-so-ever.
To his dismay there were barely much to his liking to eat besides a couple of salads, hays, carrots, and milk. Yoshi checked and double checked wherever that contains food. The refrigerator and even the pantries, nothing but weeks worth of food products you feed your pets with. Gag! This only left unsatisfied emptiness in Yoshi’s stomach. Emptiness that painfully reminded our green hero how incredibly delicious those apples he ate were…
Coping with the insatiate grumble of his tummy, Yoshi decides now was the time for him to put his plan into motion. If saving his island home meant starving for a while then it’ll be worth the trouble. The green reptile stepped into the living room where his ‘Ultimate Weapon’ awaits under a sheet for concealing. He grabbed and pulled the sheet off. Yoshi’s breath was taken away from the sheer beauty of his creation.
He almost shed a tear.
Yoshi looked out the window and read the position of the sun hovering across the sky. It’s almost close to noon. Each and every second counts and Yoshi mustn’t waste any of them. Who knows when these ‘demons’ will launch their attack and what exactly their Queen Overlord, this ‘Miss Cheerilee’, intentions are to do with his world. But Yoshi does know one thing; he must stop them, no matter what. No matter what.
…unless he…well, broke his leg or something like that, then Yoshi guess they won….yeah…
Anyways, getting back on track, our dino-dragon hero got his weapon up and ready.
======================
Yoshi’s Log Entry #1:
11 hundred 50 hours
Location - ‘Demon Village’
Status report - Hungry….but can bare for now. Slightly nervous….will get over it soon. Successfully infiltrated enemy territory. Newly devised plan now in motion. Mission Object; stop invasion, now in motion. Target Objective; Succubus Queen….unsighted.
Yoshi put away his handheld recorder that he was using to, obviously, record his progress while surveying his surroundings. He was indeed back in the bustling streets of the enemy community. However, unlike yesterday and during the late night, he wasn’t keeping himself hidden. He’s no longer playing stealth. He’s not diving under for cover and using cardboard boxes to move around unseen. No. Yoshi no longer requires such tedious tactics when his ‘greatest master plan’, his ‘ultimate weapon’ have been put to full use of its capability.
Many stallions, mares, colts, and fillies all stare for a brief moment at the freakiest looking…whatever it is, they have ever seen walked into town. The…’equine thing’ looked like he got hit by the ‘fugly ugly carriage’. If anything, he can rival Discords ugly mug of appearance. As a matter of fact, no, the new creature made the reformed Spirit of Chaos and Disharmony look handsome…and that’s saying a lot.
Covering the upperbody portion of his body was leather fabric with a bluish hue of fur glue together. The seals from the sew ups are hardly visible under the fur and glue. The head was structure wide with many patches of almost noticeable stitching all around. There are two large eye holes and a larger opening below Yoshi’s snout for a mouth. A pair of oddly shaped of what appears to be ears sandwich a messy mop of cyan grayish streaks of hair on top. There are also small lumps running along the back of the neck. The leather fabric of Yoshi’s arms, the left sewed on the shoulder while the other already connected, have larger and wider bulky ends with no fingers. The lower half was stitched together by the same leather material, only instead of the bluish color it’s now a lighter shade of yellow fur. Some lines of sewing were mostly visible along the back and down the right leg as if there was proof of recent surgery. The stub end for the tail was wider and longer with fluffy multi-colors strands of blue in different varieties. Underneath the tail was a buttoned up flap for…’business’ use. Yoshi even kept his orange shoes on. The green reptile continues his trek, walking on all fours to fit in with the crowd.
….encase you didn’t know, YES, Yoshi disguised himself as a Pony!
Yoshi kept calm and mousy on, fully aware of the staring eyes of these ‘monstrous devils’. His heart dares to burst out of his chest as it beats faster every second. However, he kept his cool in appearance. Slowly, ever-so painfully slow his heart rate descended to a more satisfying level of tempo pulsing so the green reptile can concentrate more thoroughly. Their questionable stares and gawking glances were brief as they continued with their daily routines and chitchat with one another. Thankfully, none of them approach Yoshi, which meant only one thing…
Yoshi’s ’greatest plan ever’, Operation: ‘Disguise self as a ‘demon’ to easily slip pass their defenses and blend in among their brethren people to find and locate their queen’, was a HUGE success! His hard on work disguise was flawless! He looks just like them! The added bonus was walking on all fours. Normally, Yoshis leans more towards the bipedal standers of their evolution, but his body can easily adjust for the time being. This makes his plan all the more perfect. As a matter of fact, Yoshi’s plan was SO great he’ll have to make up a new word for how incredibly perfect it was! It was genius, brilliant! No, brilliant, genius!
’Brilnius’! Yes, Yoshi’s plan was ’Brilnius’!!!
Yoshi’s Log Entry #2:
11 hundred 55 hours
Location - ‘Demon Village’
Status Report - Disguise was a ‘Brilnius’ success! Succubus populace believes Yoshi to be one of them. Defensive are useless, can easily breach without problems. Continue with Mission Objective; stop invasion. Target Objective; Succubus Queen…still undetected. Continuing with search.
Our clever reptilian hero proceeded his way through town, now with nerves of steel since his perfect disguise was ‘Brilnius’. He ‘trotted’ in an awkward fashion as he tries to mimic the walking style of these creatures. To him, he was doing a marvelous job to blend in. To them, those that are paying attention, the ‘weird looking pony’ either has cramps or really in need to the nearest restroom.
Probably both.
Surveying some more, Yoshi has come to understand that his time to stop this massacre of an invasion has come short. He noticed that some of the ‘succubus’s’ are now wielding weapons and most of the others, mainly the ‘manbus’, have dawn themselves in protected armor wear. It’s only a matter of time before the Queen ‘Miss Cheerilee’ unleashed her armed forces.
Yoshi’s Log Entry #3:
11 hundred 57 hours
Location - ‘This demon place’
Status report - Just discovered demons are preparing for their takeover. Need to hurry and sabotage their invasion before it’s too late. Mission Objective is still a go. Target Objective is somewhere; need to revisit the Big Red Building pronto.
Note to self; still hungry…may revisit that farm to hopefully stock on remaining apples. Reminder, need to speak with Fuzzy Dealer once returned to Yoshi’s Island; running low on that also.
……..bow chika bow wow chika chika bow wow chika-- ACK!
Barely keeping watch to where he was ‘trotting’ towards, Yoshi bumped into something that knocked him over like a bowling ball to bowling pins…only he was the pin and it wasn’t fun.
Yoshi never went Bowling…he doesn’t know what ‘Bowling’ is…
Before he can completely register what happen, all he heard was a gasped from someone and being lifted back on his feet and hands. “Oops! I’m so sorry!” announced the feminine voice. Yoshi froze when he realized he made direct contact with the enemy! She was a purplish ‘succubus’ with many highlights of darker shade of purple hair. What was most shocking was that she had wings and a horn. A super bred perhaps? “Sorry, should have looked where I was going.” Quickly as she came the ‘demon’ spread her wings and took off flying somewhere.
Yoshi momentarily stood there absorbing all of this new found information. A wing AND horn ‘succubus’. What does this mean? And…and did he saw a small reptile riding it?
Yoshi’s Log Entry #4:
11 hundred 57 and ¾ of an hour
Location - ‘Still traveling this hell hole’
Status report - New discovery! Elite Succubus! Have wings for flight and a horn. Possible creation from their Queen to mass produce stronger demons. Living proof the Succubus Queen is gaining power!
Also, for some reason, Elite Succubus’s has a symbiotic connection with purple lizards to ride their backs….further details may be required.
The green reptile put away his recorder as he watched the ‘Elite Succubus’ fly far in the distance. He didn’t get to take a single step forward when his vision was suddenly obscured by a mass of pink. Said ‘mass of pink’ has eyes and two stretchy rows of teeth. To describe Yoshi with words like ‘surprised’ or ‘frighten’ were greatly insulting.
He was just glad that certain body fluids weren’t leaking through his disguise.
“Hi!” greeted the pinkies ‘demon’ Yoshi has ever seen, in all of her bubbly demeanor. He couldn’t help but think he saw this one before… “I’m Pinkie Pie! What’s your name?”
Yoshi recomposed himself to the best of his ability (and he’s doing a terrible job) to keep his mind focus. Here he is now, fully disguised as one of them in order to end them. Yoshi is very rusty with English, but it’s now demanding to put it to use. This is second contact, mistakes are unacceptable.
Before our reptilian hero can utter even a breath, the ‘Pinkie Pie’ beat him to it. “I’ve never seen somepony like you around here before. Are you new in town?” She interrupted, slightly titling her head sideways.
…’somepon--‘ what? Is that some type of codeword? Yoshi wasn’t prepared for this! All of a sudden, the pink ‘succubus’ gasped really loud with widen eyes set dead on him and her mouth dropped open. Yoshi’s own eyes pupils shrunk into digits as she closed the distance with her face on his.
“Oh…..my…..gosh. I know what you are!!”
This is it.
It’s over for Yoshi.
He failed.
He was caught.
He’s surrounded.
They’re going to eat him.
IT’S GAME OVER!!!
“You’re obviously a transfer student from a faraway country who just so happens to walked into town and is also running late to join Miss Cheerilee’s school for foals and you obviously got lost in the process since you’re new here! Welcome to Ponyville!!!” Colorful streamers and confetti fell out of nowhere as the ‘Pinkie Pie’ threw her front legs in the air when she finally concluded.
Yoshi fell anime-style on his back.
Several Minutes Later…
Yoshi’s Log Entry #5:
12 hundred 05 hours
Location - ‘Big Red Building’
Status report - Made successful second contact with a succubus known as the ‘Pinkie Pie’. The ‘Pinkie Pie’, fooled by Yoshi’s disguise, kept referring Yoshi as the ‘Pony’. The term, ‘Pony’, is what these demons like to call themselves for some insufficient reason. Note to self, further research about ‘Pony’ in near future.
The ‘Pinkie Pie’ led Yoshi to the Big Red Building, a.k.a Queen Miss Cheerilee’s School for Foals’. Mission Objective on green. Target Objective…soon.
Once again, Yoshi found himself staring at the number one place that gave him so much trouble in the past 24 hours. However, this time….this time, it’ll be different. He looked over to his left, the pink ‘four legged demon’, known as the ‘Pinkie Pie’, have been rattling on and on ever since their first encounter…and still is. At first, Yoshi thought she was trying to pull a fast one on him, but it was quite interesting how little minded the ‘succubus’ was. She kept on trying to be his friend, to say the least. All she talked about was him being this new ‘Pony’-- whatever that is-- in their society and how she never seen a ‘Pony’ like him before.
Yoshi just shrugged as he skillfully tunes out her voice. Why was he being so dubious about this development? The ‘Brilnius’ of his masterful concealing outfit fooled all of the others without any slight hint of suspicion.
What is there to worry about?
“Oh!” The ‘Pinkie Pie’ sudden extraordinary loud gasp caused Yoshi to almost jump out of his disguise. “Here I am just rambling on while you’re still out here missing out on class! Heh, heh, sorry about that. We better hurry up so you won’t miss out! Can’t be playing hooky on your first day!” The ‘Pinkie Pie’ then suddenly switched to a pondering position. “Hmmm, can you really call it ‘playing hooky’ when you’re a transfer student from another country on your first day in town?”
Yoshi doesn’t understand the meaning as to being a ‘transfer student’, but whatever; he has a mission to accomplish and a Queen to slay. Without wasting any more time he proceeded to the front door of the building, the pink ‘succubus/pony/whatever’ creature following behind.
===========================
The time was a little over past noon. Many colts and fillies sat in their respectful desks, chatting with one another over the last three or so hours. That’s been pretty much what the whole class has been doing, instead of schoolwork. What assignments can they do when there is none presented to them? How can they learn when there’s nothing to learn? Surely the students can simply perform an act of self-independence and study for themselves. But that’s just silly. Why would they do something so straightforward when there’s a specific pony to herd them like mere sheep to do so?
…that is to say, if the ‘foremention pony’ was even there to begin with.
Miss Cheerilee is late. Yes, quite shocking indeed. Normally she’ll already be here in the morning, either waiting by the frontdoor or sitting in this very classroom. The young foals figure their teacher was waiting inside since the schoolhouse was already unlocked. That, however, turned out to be the school nurse’s doing who was giving a spare key by Cheerilee herself. The nurse pony sometimes arrives earlier than Cheerilee to get the infirmary setup and ready, which was a good thing since the repairpony came by to fix the classroom floors. So, pretty much the only adult company the whole class has for now is the repairpony doing his job. Over the sounds of hammers, tools buzzing, and the occasional floorboards toppling over, the students pretty much just sat around and talked.
Rumble was in deep thought as he sat in his assign seat. His mind kept mauling over the dreadful news about his big brother, Thunderlane, being a victim of the mysterious creature that was lurking around in Ponyville. Just as soon as the story reached his ears the grey color colt quickly bolted to the hospital, only managing to see a glimpse of his tearstained cover face and shaved headed big, bold, and strong bro. in a fetal position surrounded by a few doctors and professional psychiatrists. Ever since this morning, Rumble has been feeling nothing but distress.
Featherweight came by and sat in an empty seat next to his Pegasus classmate. “Um….hey, Rumble. I, ah, heard what happen….and I wanted to see if you’re doing okay.”
“Yeah…” he sighed in response. “What if….I just…if only I was there, you know…? I wish I was there.”
The white Pegasus placed a comforting hoof on the young colts shoulder. He can tell how miserable Rumble was over the disclosure of a family member, an older brother to look up to as a role model, out of all ponies to be a victim and might have lost a life. “Your brother is a cool and strong guy. He’s going to be fine.”
“I know its…its just…man, if only I had taken those pictures I’ll be cool with it!” he lament.
“…what?”
“Darn it, I should have followed my gut feeling to spy on my brother that night. I knew something good was going to happen! I overheard some news about those spa twins and my brother. That was absolutely perfect blackmail material, now it’s gone! And then he was attacked by an unknown creature that same night! Do you know how many bits I could have made from those photos of my brother beaten-up by a monster if I was there? All of those opportunities, gone!”
Featherweight just sat there staring at the young grey Pegasus as if he was crazy.
Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon sat in the near back row of desks as they chat with one another.
“So, wait, you’re getting that 128 carat gold diamond chain necklace this weekend?” Silver Spoon rephrase her best and only friend’s previous statement.
“Um hm.” Diamond Tiara replied as she put a small piece of paper in her mouth. “I’m getting it way early then waiting for my birthday. Just as soon as I saw it on the Canterlot jewelry store magazine I knew I had to have it.” The Earth filly said as she soaks the paper in her mouth. “I even got it preorder.”
“But didn’t your father buy you that collector’s edition of jewelries last week?” The silvery grey filly pony asked. “That cost some serious amount of bits. It was even imported from that zebra country outside of Equestria.”
“What can I say?” Diamond Tiara shrugged as she places a straw in her mouth. “I’m my father’s little princess after all.”
She then blew into the straw, firing a spitwad of paper at the back of Sweetie Belle’s head. While the two Earth pony laughed Sweetie Belle barely flinch. She has numerous amounts of sticky paper wads stuck in her mane. She looked as if she was due to pass out any given moment. The poor Unicorn filly didn’t get enough sleep last night, mainly due to a certain diva of an older sister’s endless outcry of bloody murder. Her sister’s friends were called by that late morning to ease her panicking, which took over a good hour. Sweetie Belle got only 1 minute of blissful embrace to dream world when Rarity woke her up to get ready for school. Eyes nearly bloodshot and her mane, not only covered in spitwads but also barely tame with split ends, Sweetie Belle sat among her two crusading friends using every ounce of willpower to stay awake as she stares in the distance.
She was failing massively.
Applebloom was probably far off worse than her white Unicorn friend. She, along with her family, we’re devastated by the discovery of their whole entire orchard of apples were-- in every sense of the word-- eaten. Like, literally eaten. The tree’s themselves were ripped out of the ground, most by the roots. The orchard was almost an exact replica of a wasteland. Applebloom wasn’t too young to understand that her Apple Family is in serious trouble. It’s no longer about Granny Smith unable to make her famous apple pies; it’s far deeper than that. No apples means no bits. No bits means can’t keep up with fiancés. No fiancés taken care of means get put out of home. Get put out of home means losing the orchard. Losing the orchard means no apples. No apples means no bits. No bits mean-- and the cycle continues. What sick, heartless, sadistic creature with no soul will do something so immoral? So…evil? The act alone made Queen Chrysalis’s invasion in Canterlot looked so justified.
You have to be on that level to screw up that badly.
During their darkest hour of the family meeting, they have deduced that it must have been the work of the unknown figure creeping around Ponyville. Applebloom swore on the honor of the Apple Family name that upon first sight whoever this mysterious creature is, she’s going to kick its butt.
Oh yeah…shit just got real.
Scootaloo, on the other hand, hasn’t suffered any sufficient mental or physical problems what-so-ever. Her time afterschool yesterday was a blast. She hung out with Rainbow Dash for a good while, seeing her fly around and creating sonic rainbooms across the sky. She was even the first witness of the sky-blue Pegasus’s newly created stunt, the ‘Triple Helix Boom-rider Storm GX’.
Suffice to say, it was definitely 20% cooler.
But that’s not all for the young Pegasus filly. No, her day was just getting started. Suddenly, the Wonder Bolts showed up. They offered the rainbow mane pony to join the World Tour with them. Spitfire-- yes, the Spitfire-- team captain gave Scootaloo an autograph and she ruffled her mane. She touched her mane! Scootaloo would have passed out right then and there, but she had to keep her cool….barely. Rainbow Dash promised to tell her all about the tour across Equestria when she returns. Scootaloo’s day couldn’t possibility get any better than that!
On the way home, the orange filly managed to actually fly….a foot from the ground for 5 whole seconds. 5 whole seconds!
It was by far the best day ever for Scootaloo.
“You should have seen me! I was, like, this high in the air, looking down below!” Scootaloo stretch one of her forehoofs upward to overly exaggerate for indication. “So I was like, ‘I’m doing it, I’m doing it, I’m flying’! And then--……are you guys even listening to me?”
For the first time since she started prattling on, the orange Pegasus filly notice how indifferent her two companions are. Sweetie Belle; slightly drooling and constantly bobbing her head with a long island stare, Applebloom; in deep concentrated thought.
“Hello? Anypony in there?” Scootaloo waved in front of the two fillies.
Applebloom broke from her thoughts to acknowledge her friend. “Huh? Whut’s up Scoots?” she asked.
Sweetie Belle mumbled something unintelligent.
“Uhhh, gee, I don’t know.” The young crusading Pegasus remarked and crossed her hooves, more than just annoyed when her friends didn’t listen to a word she said. “Maybe I was talking about the awesome of all awesome times I had yesterday evening? I’m not sure, but whatever, I guess its means nothing to you guys.”
“Whutta’ya’ sayin’ Scoots? Of course it means somethin’ tah us”. Applebloom stated. “It just dat a lot ‘ave been goin’ on, ah can’t even focus right now. Mah family is goin’ through some hard times with da apple orchards bein’ dispose of and all.”
This was news to her. Scootaloo was shock to hear such a tragedy would happen to her Earth pony friend. She threw her attention towards the white Unicorn filly. “Did you know about this Sweetie?”
Sweetie Belle lazily bobbed her head in an awkward manner that made the gesture seems like a ‘yes’.
“Wow. Oh man, Applebloom, I’m so sorry, I didn’t know, I--“ She cut off her feverish apologies when the yellow filly raised a single hoof.
“Its fine, Scoots. Don’t go an’ worry ‘bout it so much.”
Before anymore could be said the door to the classroom open. Everypony within the room, minus the near drowsy Unicorn, all stare in silent as Pinkie Pie bounce in the room…along with somepony else. Nothing prepared the colts and fillies as they lay eyes on the most hideous pony they have ever seen walked into the room. They we’re too shock to even utter a wor-- oh who am I kidding, they laughed their little flanks off. The pink party pony laughed along with them for no reason other than the fact she can.
Once she got her bearings together, Pinkie Pie addresses to the foals of the school. “Hello little colts fillies! Guess who got themselves a super fun, new in town, transfer pony as a classmate? All of you do! Say hello to your new friend--“ She hesitated for a moment while gesturing to the ‘new transfer pony’. She lean in and whispered into his ‘ears’. “What’s your name again?”
One glare and a brief second of pause later, the ‘pony’ responded. “…Yoshi.”
“Yoshi!” Pinkie chirped before she pulled out her party cannon from…somewhere and fired colorful streams of glitter and smiley faces covering the ‘pony’ named Yoshi head to toe. While the students snickered and giggled from the scenario, the pink mare became really thoughtful over his name. “That’s an interesting name. ‘Yoshi’. Just thinking about it reminds me of a specific green alien from another planet that can lay eggs from the mouth and shoot beam cannons from the fingertips.”
Yoshi gave Pinkie Pie a hard look.
“Well anyways” Before Yoshi even realized it he was already seated in an empty desk in the front row, courtesy of Pinkie Pie. “Why don’t you take a seat next to all of your soon to be friends and have fun with all of the super-duper fun lessons and assignments that Cheerilee will provide you! Hey there Applebloom!” The pink mare immediately switched her attention at the young Earth filly. “How are you doing? Sorry, wish I can talk more, but I promised your big sister Applejack that, I, along with Twilight and Rarity will help solve the incident that happen at Sweet Apple Acres! Oh boy, there are sure are a lot of occurrences going here in Ponyville. Oh well, I know we’ll solve them all soon enough! See you all later!”
And just like that, Pinkie Pie bounced away.
The room fell silent….with the exception of the gurgling noises from Sweetie Belle’s saliva filled mouth with her head held back as she nodded off. The remainder of active ponies in the classroom has their eyes set on Yoshi, the ‘pony’ who is a transfer student and new in town. Yoshi himself can practically feel their judgmental stares all over his body. Even the repairpony was giving him some weird looks. By comparision, our undercover hero may be a tad bigger and larger than a foal. This was getting awkwardly uncomfortable…
As if on cue a very familiar pony mare has finally arrived, easing the tension away for the foals. Finally, Miss Cheerilee is here! She stumbled into the classroom, drunk off her flank and stench of heavy cider. Practically falling on her ‘second rate desk’, Cheerilee was looking anything but the perfect imagery of a foal teacher’s appearances. She clumsily slumps on her wooden desk, drunk, tired….drunk.
“Good evening, Miss Cheerilee!” the whole class of foals greeted in union…minus Sweetie Belle.
Snips spoke up afterwards. “Miss Cheerilee, Miss Cheerilee! Check out the new pony!”
Snails snickered. “Yeah, he’s all weird looking and stuff!”
Cheerilee shifted her gaze towards the bluish and shady yellow half color ‘pony’ with streaks of cyanish gray mane sitting in the front row. She almost snorted. “Awwwhh, great, ah’noter moor’on ta’ add with da’ rest ov’ da’ pack ov’ moor’ons…” Cheerilee was far too buzzed to properly process identifications. On the way here she apologies to several knocked over ponies.
Said ponies were trashcans.
Yoshi locked eyes to eyes on the fuchsia color mare. His muscles flexed, the tiny stream of sweat leak inside of his disguise, and his stomach growled with ambition…to eat…it’s been awhile. Countless times, Yoshi has always imagined the final confrontation with Queen Miss Cheerilee will be incomprehensible and beyond epic proportions. But now, realization has hit the green dino-dragon hard with a touch of something called reality. The reality of a Yoshi, such as himself, fighting against an all powerful Demon Queen of four legged ‘Succu-pony Things’. With every fiber of his being, Yoshi tried not panicked and remained as stoic and calm as possible. Here he is, facing the creature of the damn surrounded by her ‘succu-foals’ within enemy territory and only one emotional response was set on Yoshi’s default upon first contact.
Fear.
Why? Why fear the Queen now? After every attempt to sneak into this place, after planning many strategies to catcher her, after numerous thoughts on defeating the Queen with a blade forged from the banes of Loutish Orbs from the Lake of Gobbledygook, why tremble in her wake? Why now of all other previous times? It’s a question Yoshi doesn’t have a answer for (It’s because Yoshi is a dumbass, case-in-point).
The green reptile can smell the scent of Queen 'Miss Cheerilee’s natural ‘succu-pony’-like aroma coated around her body…and from her mouth, oddly enough. It was somewhat strong and may forever burn in his memories. For some reason it reminded Yoshi of the time he and his friends throw a huge New Year’s party. His fellow Yoshi brethren have discovered a new interesting method with fuzzies and some imported drink products called Chuckolca Cola. So, not one to look like a wussy, he tried it out. The next morning, Yoshi awoke to find himself in the middle of Dinosaur Land.
That was the last time Yoshi will ever inject fuzzies in his arm…
Anyways, it was then and there a sudden familiar sensation that remerged within Yoshi’s psyche, working its way through the fear and self-doubt. It was something Yoshi has nearly almost forgotten when he got lost in the potent green eyes of his enemy. It made him strong and reminded him why the very reason he’s risking his life throughout his time here in this screwed up plains of an ‘Underworld’. It was Yoshi’s ‘Pride’!
…I think…
Wait…what does Yoshi represent again?
Whatever.
Anyways, now full of confidence….through the power of plot device or something, Yoshi manages a simple action after he realize he’s been sitting there staring at the ‘Queen’ like an idiot over the past few minutes struggling with his internal thoughts.
He waved and said. “Yoshi.”
The whole class laughed.
Cheerilee rolled her eyes.
The repairpony continues fixing the floor.
Sweetie Belle face-slam on the desk and it was lights out for her.
Too Be Continue…
Author’s Note:
Hey to those who still found interest to continue reading this story. Just like my previous ‘AN’, this chapter was attended to show more scenario’s with Yoshi, Cheerilee, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders, but alas, the chapter would be too long and updating the story may take longer.
Speaking of ‘updating’, I realized it sort of takes almost a month to do so. Just wanted to say sorry about that. You know how it is with updating; *Responsibilities, jobs, etc.** So yeah…*
Well…thank you for your time and…see you all next month?
