Equestria's Contractor

Hei stared at Celestia for the longest time, observing her. She was unlike any of the others he’d seen. On the way through the town he spotted serval ponies that had wings, but never had he seen one with both a horn and wings. He decided now was a good a time as any to speak with her.

“your Princess Celestia I assume.”

“Yes I am” She replied in a very soothing tone. which  surprised Hei but he pressed on with his questions.

“Why are you here right now, I don’t believe anybody else had revealed I was here.” Hei asked

“Yes well I suppose I should explain myself. Last night my dear sister Luna witnessed a bight light coming from the everfree forest. According to her it was unlike anything she’d ever seen. I wanted to see what had caused it for myself, so I flew down earlier today.I met one of Twilights friends Flutter Shy. She explained to me the situation and I knew I couldn’t waste any more time in locating you. Now it seems I’ve found the cause of that light.”

Hei’s grip tightened on his knife. “is that so. well unfortunately I don’t have an explanation as to what that light was, when I awoke there was no light present.

Twilight finally spoke up stepping in front of Hei.

“Princess I swear I was going to send you a letter as soon as I could.”

“It’s quite alright Twilight, I’m not here to punish anyone. Celestia gave a small giggle. Making Hei take his hand of the knife handle.

“I was just wanted to meet the two mysterious beings that have come to equestria.” Celestia walked up to Hei

“I assure you I mean you and your companion no harm, I just wanted to know who you are, and possibly what you are?” Celestia gave a warm smile towards Hei.

“My name is Hei and this is Yin. According to your student where from an alternate universe.” Hei stated before having a pink blur right in his face.

“Hey there Hei, tehe, your from an alternate universe that sounds Great *Gasp* I need to prepare you a welcome to equestria from another dimension party! wait did you have parties where you came from huh huh.”

“Woah Pinkie Pie Ah think you might be freaking him out a little. Apple Jack Jumped in Grabbing Pinkie Pie by the tail.

Hei, stood there a bit uneasy from the pink pony that had just broken his personal space. He let out a quick sigh of relief and turned back to celestia

“You may have to get used to things like that ponies are going to want to know you, the same goes for me.”

Hei Wasn’t looking forward to going into another explanation of where he came from, but he had to get used to it.

“Alright what is it you’d like to know.” Hei asked cautiously remembering how Twilight and Apple Jack reacted.

“Oh no you don’t have to tell me anything. I can simply use my magic to look through your memories, I’m not going to lie It’s something that Id actually like to do. Just to get a better idea of who you are. of course I need your permission for this.”

Hei looked at her suspiciously, could she really tap into his memories, was some thing like that really possible. Hei knew that if this magic worked, she’d be able to see everything he has done, at the same time He anticipated the chance that Twilight would tell her mentor what he told her. Hei saw no avoiding it, deciding to go along with Celestia’s idea.

“Fine, but on one condition, you leave Yin out of it, I don’t want her to go through this.” Hei said sternly.

“I will respect your wishes.” Celestia replied softly. as she walked forward to Hei

“I assure you it will not take long.” Celestia’s horn began to glow as she gained access to Hei memories.

Celestia was now witnessing a series of events playing out directly before her eyes. She began to see unrecognizable faces, feel the emotions being felt in each and every event that played out before her. She Occasionally felt a sliver of happiness through Hei’s early life, but it didn’t last. Celestia Began to shiver as, Hei’s life began to go forward to a great battle, in the trees. Death so much death, more than anything Celestia had seen in her life time. Celestia began to shed tears as the physical and psychological pain Hei had felt ,cut through her like a blade. She felt the pain of a man who’s soul was on the verge of breaking, a man who’d experienced so much death and despair, that it was molded into his very being. Celestia wondered how such a man was standing before her, and thats when she felt it. Love, Like a beckon in the Dark. Celestia, felt signs of hope signs of love. These signs made her breath a sigh a relief. Celestia’s eyes then widened to see a young girl standing before her. She was similar to Hei’s companion Yin however her hair was brown and she wore a blue and black type of clothing. The girl simply, smiled at Celestia kindly. uttering only a single sentence

“Please help my brother...” With that Celestia finally pulled her self out.

Celestia was panting heavily. The experience now taking it’s tole on her physical form. Twilight ran to her mentors side in a flash.

“Princess Celestia are you Alright!” Twilight shouted in a panic.

Hei stood there completely shocked at what had happened what exactly did she see that caused her to be like this. His thoughts where suddenly interrupted by the rainbow haired pony flying up to him.

“Hey you What did you do to the Princess.” The Flying pony asked angrily.

“Rainbow Dash, Please theres no need for this I’m quite alright, Just a little worn out.” Celestia finally stood back up Twilight still looking at her concerned.

“What exactly did you see.”  Hei asked quietly.

Celestia Glanced at him sadness in her eyes. Looking at Hei now she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. What she saw in his mind was unlike anything she’d ever seen. Then there was that girl, was this girls Hei’s sister, if so.

“Hei what exactly happened to your sister, where is she ?” Celestia asked. Hei could sense sadness in her voice. Hei began to become agitated, how did she know did she go that far into his mind could she have seen what happened to Pai. Hei stormed up to Celestia.

“Tell me what you saw!” Hei yelled directly at Celestia tears now streaming down his face. The other ponies backed away, Celestia however didn’t even flinch. She sighed putting, her wing over Hei’s shoulder.

“What happened to her Hei?”

“I...I don’t know what exactly happened to her, I assume you saw everything. After the event at Heavens gate I gained her abilities. It’s as if she became part of me, like she joined with my soul. Thats why i’m different contractors aren’t meant to have souls. They don’t even have dreams, because I wasn’t a contractor my abilities and the price for them went through my sister, but something happened recently. It made me lose my contractor abilities I think It made me lost her as well.”

Celestia finally understood. The reason why she saw Hei’s sister was because Hei’s  sister lived with in Hei. Finally taking her wing off Hei, she went over to Twilight.

Twilight I have to return to Canterlot. I trust you will take care of Hei and Yin while there here.

“Of course princess.” Twilight answered hesitantly.

Princess Celestia turned back to Hei “I’ll organize for a house to be built for you and Yin, any time you want to see me, don’t hesitate to ask Twilight to send a letter.” she said smiling at him now.

Hei was rather confused. Why this sudden concern for him, was it because of his past. no it was something else. Celestia had seen something that he could tell had deeply disturbed her. could she have seen Pai in his mind. If thats the case then him losing his contractor abilities might not have killed her.

“Why are you so concerned for me, Why are you trying to help me.” Hei said demanding an answer. Celestia paused for a second thinking about the question asked. Finally she turned around to look at him.

“Because I feel you deserve it.” celestia said smiling. She knew that, she wasn’t the one to tell him what was seen. If it was his sister that was seen, she was the only one that could tell him.

Celestia Said her goodbyes to the other ponies, and using her Magic Vanished from the room. Hei stood there for the longest time, Yin finally taking hold of his hand snapped him out of it. Hei looked down at Yin, letting out a sigh. He decided to let i go for now, He could discuss it another time. No he would have to.

“Well Hei...It looks like you and Yin will be staying here with me and spike.

“Who’s spike ?” Hei asked Twilight almost immediately.

“Oh He’s my assistant He’s probably still with our friend Rarity.

Hei nodded and turned to the other four ponies in the room. Twilight  stepping in front of him.

“Well I might as well introduce everyone. Hei and Yin, this is Pinkie Pie.” The pink pony was hopping up and down with excitement.

“Rainbow Dash.” Hei remembered her trying to attack him.

“And finally this is flutter Shy.” Hei already knew who she was the moment she stepped through. She was the one who saved his life, Still he couldn’t believe it she was cowering in the spot she was standing .

“You your the one who was with Apple Jack when I was attacked.” Hei said pointing at Flutter Shy.

“y yes?” Flutter she replied in a whisper, her hooves where now shaking as Hei began to approach her. Rainbow Dash kept her eyes fixed on Hei, getting in a position to charge at him should he try anything

“I never got a chance to thank you.”

Flutter Shy’s looked up at Hei her fear slowly fading.

“you your welcome sir. I just couldn’t bare to see you get hurt.” Flutter Shy said speaking up a little, before lowering her head. This caused Rainbow Dash to lash out at Hei once more.

“I got my eye on you If you hurt any of my friends your flank is mine.” Rainbow Dash said to Hei a hint of anger still in her voice.

“Rainbow Dash is it? I assure you no harm is going to come to your friends.”

Rainbow Dash turned away from him in a huff.

“Now look Rainbow ah know you may not trust mister Hei but the princess said it was okay for him to stay in Ponyville, If the princess trust him then I do to.” Apple Jack said turning to Hei with an apologetic smile.

“Yeah besides these two really look like they need a good party! Pinkie Pie Finally said bouncing over to Yin who looked over at Pinkie emotionless.

“A party ?” Yin asked her tone still devoid of emotion.

“Yeah a party, you know to make you smile!” Pinkie gave Yin the biggest smile she could possibly muster.

Yin finally remembered her interaction with the girl Kiko who also had pink hair. Remembering what Kiko showed her, Yin put her two fingers on her cheeks raising them into a smile.

“Yeah see a smile.” Pinkie Pie said giggling. Hei was shocked, he’d never seen Yin willingly try to smile before, for any normal doll it was unheard off. Yin looked at Hei her fingers now off her cheeks. Hei looked at at Yin a smile almost forming across his face.

“See Heiy you can smile.” Hei recoiled from having Pinkie once again in his face, his smile turning back into a frown. This pink pony was defiantly getting on his nerves.

“Alright girls I think we all might had a bit to much excitement for today.” Twilight finally spoke up

“Yeah I’d best be getting back to the farm. I guess I’ll see you two around.” Apple Jack Added in Turning to Hei and Yin and holding out her hoof. Hei shook it out of respect.

“We’ll be seeing you around Heiy I gotta plan your welcome to Equestria from another dimension party !”

Hei rolled his eyes at Pinkie Pie as she bounced out the door Apple Jack following her. How that pony was so happy was beyond him.

“Um mister Hei, I ...I just wanted to say that I hope you will enjoy your stay, and I’m sorry that I was so afraid of you.” Flutter shy said in a whisper. Hei sighed.

“don’t be sorry, you don’t have anything to be sorry for.” Hei said giving a small smile towards her. Flutter Shy nodded giving a smile herself and left, Rainbow Dash following behind her.

“Well thats everyone, except for Rarity and Spike, but I’m sure Spike will be home soon.” Twilight said occasionally, glancing at a clock on the wall.

Hei nodded, taking off his coat setting it on a nearby table along with his knife and mask. Twilight at him uneasily especially when he took out the knife, Twilight couldn’t get past the fact that he may have killed with that very weapon,however, she knew that Hei could be trusted. If princess celestia trusts him then so should she.

“Twilight Sparkle.”

Twilight Jumped at the sound of her name, turning to see Hei facing her.

“What are the names of the different species of pony in this world, I know what you and your friend Apple Jack are, but what is Celestia and also Futtershy ?”

“Oh well Rainbow Dash and Flutter Shy are pegasi. Pegasi are the ones who control the weather in equestria.

Hei’s eyes widened the weather here was actually controlled. This world didn’t seem to be run by logic.

“Well the weather isn’t controlled on earth, it’s unpredictable, and what about Celestia and I’m assuming her sister, what are they ?

“Alicorns, but there are only three Alicorns in existence Princess Celestia, Luna and Princess Cadence, she’s married to my brother.” Twilight said with a squee.

“Doesn’t that make you part of the royal family here ?”

Twilight pondered the question, she had never really thought of her self as better than any pony, however Hei did have a good point. Twilight looked over at Hei, who was waiting for an Answer.

“I can’t really say, but it really doesn’t matter to me. Twilight said giving a polite smile.

A knock at the door finally caused Twilight to look away from Hei as  a familiar face opened the door.

“Twilight, I’m back from Rarity’s and I...Ahhhhh who who ?”

“Spike calm down there our guests.” Twilight stated to reassure the tiny dragon.

“But what are those two?” Spike asked still petrified.

Twilight looked at Hei who wasn’t even phased by the conversation, just slightly irritated. Twilight finally turned her head back to Spike.

“Hehe it’s a long story.”

Princess Celestia had teleported back to her room in Canterlot her body now feeling weak, The memory reading spell she’d used on Hei had drained her magic more than she thought it would. Also taking into account the teleportation spell she used to get back to Canterlot, she was starting to regret using it. Her body craved sleep, but this wasn’t the first time celestia had experienced this.  Taking a deep breath she stood up to go an inform her sister of the current situation, and what a situation it was. Celestia felt like her body would collapse at any minute. As she walk through the Halls of the castle she tried to keep her posture, as not to worry the royal guards. She knew she’d have to rest soon to regain her strength, but all of that could wait. Luna had to be informed about this. Making it to the throne room Celestia found luna glancing out one of the  windows, the approaching hoof steps of her sister made her turn around.

“Dear sister thou have returned.” Luna then gasped as she finally saw celestia looked like she’d been awake for days, Her mane slightly drooping along with her wings. Luna ran to her sisters side holding her up.

“Tia are you alright what happened to you ?” Luna asked with great concern.

“I’m fine luna I just used a bit to much magic, my body just needs some rest.” Celestia said reassuring her sister.

“Then you must go and rest, but despite your condition, Hath thou discovered the source of the light we saw ?” Luna asked still showing concern for celestia’s condition.

“Yes. It would appear we have visitors in Equestria.” Celestia stated giving Luna a smile.”

“Visitors really where are they from ?” Luna asked intrigued.

“I can’t say for sure but it’s defiantly not of this world.” Celestia said beginning to feel her feet a little more.

“Oh, is that the case. What did thou learn from them sister. and when may we get to meet them” Luna asked excitedly.

Celestia pondered on her sisters question, Luna did have as much right as she did to see the two new beings that now lived with in her kingdom. At that moment Celestia re called Hei’s childhood memories, how he would always watch the stars with his sister. Perhaps Luna was the perfect one for him to talk to. However could she really tell her sister about what she’d seen within Hei’s mind. The endless murder, the guilt, and despair that seemed to scar his soul. Even though Celestia didn’t want to, admit it, she didn’t completely trust Hei. The things he’d been through and done deeply disturbed her. So why didn’t she just throw him into the Canterlot dungeon on the off chance that he caused harm to her subjects. Deep down she knew that this was someone who was not evil, someone that needed a second chance.  After thinking about it, Celestia realized. Luna and Hei really weren’t so different.

“Luna, I think it would be a good idea for you to meet them, rather one of them in particular.” Celestia said looking at her sister intently.

“One of them, who is this individual dear sister.” Luna asked knowing fine well there was more to this conversation.

Hei had retired to the room that Twilight had prepared for him and Yin, though the bed as a bit small, it was wide enough for Yin  and himself to sleep on. Twilight had shown them both where the bathroom, and kitchen were, just in case they needed to use them. Hei Took off his equipment and his long sleeve shirt placing them on a nearby table, he figured he’d have to get a second set of clothes soon. Twilight suggested he ask her Friend rarity to make some for him, he planned to see her tomorrow to talk about the clothes. Looking down at his thigh Hei finally took off the bandages to his wound, which had been healing well, he knew it wouldn’t be long till it would be completely healed. yawning he realized he should probably get some sleep, He’d being exhausted by todays events, and needed some relaxation. Hei Finally got in the bed, Yin was already asleep at this point, her back to one side of the bed. Trying his best not to wake her, he climbed in the bed quietly, Lying down with his back to hers. He felt his body slip away as he drifted to sleep.

Hei woke up to find him self in his Black Reaper Attire, in what appeared to be an area that was underground. Giant pillars where the only things present in the space around him. Suddenly being hit with a sense of deja vu, Hei recognized where he was. This was the last place where he’d made his last stand against Wei Zhijun. The same contractor who appeared in his first dream on arriving here. Hei finally turned around, sure enough Wei was standing right behind him.

“It’s just you and me BK201, I’m going to enjoy finally killing you, after how you humiliated me in our last fight .” Wei said cutting his wrist with the small knife he kept.

Was he serious? Hei knew this had to be a dream, but why did it feel so real. Hei Withdrew his Knife and proceed to run next to the pillars for cover from Wei’s blood- induced Matter Transportation. Wei ran after Hei on the opposite side of the pillars throwing his blood towards Hei’s side. Hei continued to move behind the pillars the blood missing him by an inch. He remembered how he’d beaten Wei the last fight, there was no reason his tactics wouldn’t work a second time. Hei threw his grappling cable upwards reeling him self up, a pillar obstructing any view of him. Wei Finally Stopped, throwing his blood at the one pillar Hei disappeared behind.  Upon Wei snapping his fingers, The blood splatter disintegrated the middle of the pillar causing it to crumble. Wei’s eyes widened to see Hei swinging towards him his knife by his side. he was going to kill him this time. Hei finally raised his Knife lunging towards his heart.

“Die...”

To his utter horror Wei had moved, the Knife only slicing his chest. Hei crashed into the wall behind them, falling over onto the stone floor. Wei smiled maniacally as he walked over to Hei.

“This is the end for you black reaper, I win.” Upon hearing these words Hei looked to see Wei’s blood on his chest, it really was over. Why ? It was the only question Hei could ask him self. Why was this happening ? Wei finally began to raise his fingers, Hei now waiting for his fate.

To his Hei’s surprise Wei didn’t snap his fingers. Hei looked to see Wei’s body fading away, almost as if it was an illusion, the blood on his coat was now gone. Hei stared in disbelief as he saw what was approaching him. He’d could see it was an Alicorn, with dark blue fur, and a flowing mane that looked like the night sky itself. The Alicorn stopped in front of him, giving a friendly smile.

“It is a great pleasure to meet you Hei.”

“Your Princess Luna aren’t you, your Celestia’s sister.” Hei spoke almost ignoring the introduction.

“Yes we are.” Luna replied politely.

“How are you able to be here and what did you do to Wei, isn’t this a dream ? Hei asked confused.

“So that was his name, we must say he was quite vile, never hath we seen anyone so ruthless. As to how we made him disappear it is in our abilities to roam within the dreams of our subjects, at most times it is to help them conquer fears.” Luna stated proudly.

“I see now. So you were able to manipulate the dream and make Wei disappear, but why are you here anyway?. “Hei asked wondering if Celestia put her up to this.

“We wanted to meet with you, and our sister gave us permission, and before you ask, we already know what our sister knows.” Luna said to Hei who wasn’t at all shocked. He knew that Celestia would tell her sister, considering they both ruled this world.

“I understand. So  you want to discuss with me then.” Hei asked suspiciously.

“Of course but shall we move from this awful place ?” Luna stated as her horn began to glow creating a flash.

Hei opened his eyes him self standing in mid air, the stars shinning high above him. He gazed at there beauty, memories of his child hood flooding back to him, before the real stars were replaced.

“How did you know ?” Hei asked knowing Luna was behind him.

“Our sister informed us of your love for the stars. We thought this would please you.” Luna said smiling.

“Did she tell you what I am, what I’ve done ?” Hei asked already knowing the answer.

“Yes and that is the reason we are here.” Luna replied walking up next to him.

“And what is the reason exactly.” Hei asked.

“Because Hei you and I are not so different.”

This caught Hei’s attention instantly. Was she serious, in a world this peaceful how could anyone be like him, how could she even be comparable to him.

“Oh really. Then tell me. Do you know how it feels to take a life, to be surrounded by death...To have people dear to you taken away !” Luna just like Celestia didn’t flinch from Hei’s voice raising.

“don’t even try to compare your self to me, where nothing alike.” Hei stated finally calming down.

“Your wrong. I know exactly how it feels to take a life, It’s happen only once.” Her voice now serious. Hei noticed she stopped saying we now referring to her self as I.

“over a thousand years ago, I was consumed by a dark force. This forced caused me to become a foul beast known as Nightmare Moon. My dear sister was unable to stop me, leaving her with only one option. using six magical artifacts known as the Elements of Harmony, to seal me in the moon for that thousand years. Hei was shocked by what she told him, being sealed away for a thousand years, and she was still alive, he finally came to the realization that these Alicorns where immortal. Despite these thoughts though Hei continued to listen.

“Now when I was Nightmare Moon, I went on a rampage I killed three of the castle guards who stood up to me. My sister told them to run, but they stood there ground, inevitably sealing there fate. I may not have killed many, but those faces haunt me to this day. I never expected to be forgiven for my actions, but my sister to my surprise gave me a second chance.” Luna finally finished, a tear streaked down her cheek.

“I’m...I’m sorry Luna.” Hei said finally realizing the similarities, Just like contractors were force to become what they are. Luna was also turned into this nightmare moon against her will. In turn making her do terrible things. Hei sighed gathering his thoughts.

“So thats what I’m being offered a second chance, just like you were.” Hei said turning to face her.

“everyone deserves one.” Luna replied smiling at Hei.

Hei didn’t know what to say. Could it really happen could he really get a second chance. Hei turned to looked at the stars. This world his new home not just his but Yin’s to. Sighing he turned to back to Luna. who finally began to speak.

“We must go for now Hei, but remember this, if there is anything you need, feel free to speak with me in your dreams. I will always hear your call. ” Luna said turning away from Hei.

“Wait, what say about my sister, I want to know what your sister saw.”

Luna looked at Hei and sighed, she knew that she had to tell him. It was something he needed to know.

“From what we were able to gather. Your sister lives within your very soul, and my sister was able to see her.” Luna said turning around to face him.

Hei eyes widened, as he came to the realization that his sister had survived, when his powers were taken. could they have just been lying dormant.

“Thank you for letting me know.” Hei said giving luna a small smile. Luna simply nodded, and began to walk away.

“I will see thou again, until then sleep peacefully.”

With that, Hei finally woke up with a jolt, causing Yin to stir. She turned around to look at him.

“Are you okay Hei ?” She asked in her usual emotionless tone.

Hei finally calmed down, glancing at Yin.

“Yeah...I’m okay thank you Yin.” Hei said giving her a smile, Yin responded by giving Hei a hug.

Hei put his hands around Yin. “I’m glad your here Yin.”
