Equestria's Contractor

The faint sunlight shun through the windows of ponyville’s library. Joined by the sound of rain drops crashing against the glass. Twilight began to twist and turn in her bed, the events of the last day still stuck in her mind. The rain somewhat easing the tension, at least a little bit. Twilight finally began to open her eyes as a faint aroma caught her attention. She finally sat up, and got out of bed, using her magic to quickly fix the sheets before going down the stairs. Twilight let out a yawn as she walked down the steps to the kitchen The smell of fresh cooking filled the house. This was odd as she was usually the one that made breakfast, was Spike cooking ? she laughed at the notion, and continued to the kitchen. Twilight stopped in her tracks as she saw, Hei serving out fried eggs several sandwiches with lettuce in between, different types of fruit, and there was also an apple pie. Twilight was then noticed by Yin and spike sitting at the table, spikes face full of excitement.

“How ? who ? did you do this Hei ? I didn’t know you could cook.” Twilight asked with disbelief.

“Of course you didn’t know, I never told you in the first place.” Hei said calmly while continuing to lay out the remaining food.

“Twilight you seriously got to try this,  Hei can really cook.” Spike said drawing Twilights attention “ Like seriously I’ve never tasted anything this good that was regular food.

“But how was he able to make all of this ?” Twilight asked almost oblivious to spikes question.

“Most of the food was already here in your Kitchen the apple pie was given by your friend Apple Jack this morning.” Hei said in a still emotionless tone. as he moved to sit down at the table, a mountain of food in front of him.

“Hehe well thanks Hei, I don’t know what to say.” Twilight said as she sat down at the table next to Yin. “but um Hei don’t you think this is a bit to much food, I mean even for the four of us.”

“Your food is in front of you the rest is for me.” Hei said cutting her off.

Twilight watched in total disbelief as Hei began to eat through the food in-front of him as quickly as he possibly could. Twilight was already beginning to concoct a scientific explanation for how he was doing this, but like with Pinkie Pie she chose not to question it. She’d defiantly seen Pinkie do stranger things. Twilight picked up the sandwich with her magic and took a bite. She had to give Hei credit he really did do a good job with this sandwich, the bread was toasted and the Lettuce was done a way Twilight couldn’t for the life of her explain. Whatever he did, she wasn’t complaining.

“So Hei since we sorted everything out yesterday, I’m still interested to here about the world you come from, it sounds very fascinating, If at one point I’d love to do some experiments on you.”

“Experiment on me ?” Hei said a little bit of irritation in his voice.

“oh no no not that type of experimentation, just like basic things like your body structure how it functions, differently from ours, nothing extreme I promise. hehe” Twilight said laughing nervously. Hei turned back to his food un phased. Twilight decided she should leave Hei to eat for now.

“Hey Twilight, have you read the latest article in Equestria daily.” Spike asked trying to add to the conversation, he sounded a bit grim.

“Hmm oh..um no I haven’t had the chance to read it yet, why whats so important ?” Twilight asked taking another bite out of her sandwich.

“Well Apparently ponies turned up missing last night, nobody knows where they’ve disappeared to, you maybe think we should stay inside for a few days ? you know so we don’t get snatched.” Spike said  looking at Twilight a bit concerned.

“Spike I’m sure it’s nothing to serious, the princess  probably has the proper authorities working on it, I don’t think we have anything to worry about.” Twilight said reassuring the dragon.

Hei looked at the paper Spike was holding curiously, wondering if this was a normal occurrence. In a place like this surely there was very little crime ? Hei brushed it aside he really wasn’t that concerned with the daily inconveniences of the town. But still...

“uh Hei you okay ? you look a little out of it.” Spike asked noticing Hei had stopped eating.

“I’m fine.” Hei said to spike coldly, which made him flinch a bit. Hei continued to eat finishing the last of his food, Twilight still secretly trying to contemplate, eating that much food that quickly, and not get sick. Hei got up from the table and walked over to Twilight, who recoiled a bit from Hei’s cold gaze staring down at her.

“I’m ready now you can take me to your friend Rarity’s.” Hei said to Twilight, almost sounding like it was a command rather than a request.

“Uh...yeah sure we can go, she should be open right now anyway.” Twilight said nervously getting up from her Chair. This also prompted Yin to get up as she walked over to Hei.

“Spike you’ll be sure to look after the library till we get back right ?” Twilight said turning to him

“Wait c can I come with you. I don’t think I wanna be left alone with y you know the ponies disappearing.”

Twilight rolled her eyes  and sighed. “alright fine you can come, with us to Rarity’s.”  This defiantly made Spike perk up quite a bit.

With that Hei went and got his coat, and equipment. Force of habit really, and the four of them made there way outside. The walk over was quite wet puddles covered the pathways there was a slight drizzle of rain, and the sky was covered by dark grey clouds, almost blocking out the sun.

“uhg did Cloudsdale really have to make today this rainy.” Spike wined as he stepped in another puddle.

“Well Spike they do have a weather schedule to keep to, although I think they might have went a little over board today.” Twilight replied watching out for any puddles that might be there.

Hei walked with Yin quietly, ignoring the discussion that Twilight was having with Spike. Looking around the town he could see it wasn’t as busy as when he first arrived. There was the occasional pony walking about, but for the most part, most of them were probably indoors from the weather.

“Um Hei ?” his attention turned to Twilight.

“What is it ?” Hei asked coldly.

“Um were almost at Rarity’s but um I was just wondering. when you get there can you try to act, well less intimidating. Rarity can be a little eccentric at times, and might not react well” Twilight said looking at him nervously.

“Fine.” Hei said turing away from Twilight. Hei knew he was more than capable of putting on a nice guy act, he’d done it constantly under the alias Li Shunsheng back in Japan, and frankly he just wanted to get this over and done with quickly.

“Hehe alright well here we are..the Carousel Boutique.” Twilight said smiling as she pointed ahead, to probably the most Decorative building hei had seen in the town. It was probably also the most ridiculous one he’d seen, but he didn’t question it.

Twilight walked up to the front door and knocked on it Twice. about seven seconds went past before a white unicorn, with a stylized purple main greeted them.

“Oh my Twilight I wasn’t expecting you to come by, it certainly is a dreadful day and..oh.” Rarity stopped in mid sentence as her eyes focused on  Hei and Yin.

“Oh you must be the two visitors in Equestria called humans. Apple Jack told me about you when she came by this morning. It is very nice to meet you Darling my name is Rarity.” the unicorn  said proudly.

Twilight looked at Hei preparing for the worst. What she saw was unbelievable, Hei was actually. Smiling ?

“Hi. my name is Hei it’s a pleasure to meet you Rarity.” Hei said with a friendly smile, bowing slightly, to say hello.

“Oh my my Apple Jack didn’t tell me you were such a Gentleman.” Rarity said flattered by Hei’s bow.

Unbelievable Twilight stood there her mouth hanging open, Spike himself was surprised. Was this really the same person she had talked to yesterday, what ever this was she defiantly, liked it more than his usual cold attitude.

“Oh Twilight please do come in, you all must be cold out there.” Rarity said letting them through the front door into a highly decorated room. Hei felt the urge to just roll his eyes at the sheer ridiculousness of the room, but he kept it to him self.

“Alright so Twilight what exactly can I do for you ?” Rarity asked enthusiastically.

“Oh yeah we were just wondering if you’d be able to make something for Hei and Yin to wear, since these are the only clothes they have.

“Oh my goodness that’s just awful, I couldn’t imagine having to wear one set of clothes although most of the time we wear no clothes any how, Come Darling. I’m sure I can make you something that you’ll like. Rarity said levitating some Measuring instruments towards Hei and Yin.

“Thanks we really appreciate it.” Hei said giving a kind smile. He then lifted up his arms allowing Rarity to take the measurements she required. She then moved onto Yin taking her measurements as well.

“Oh darling I really love this dress you have, I could defiantly get some inspiration from this.” Rarity said finishing her measurements. Yin remained Silent, watching Rarity work.

“As for you Mr. Hei, hmm the black really does suit you, I think I know what to do.” Rarity said happily trotting over to one of her work tables to get some black fabric, and scissors. Rarity marked out the outline, in the fabric, on occasionally glancing at Hei’s clothes he was already wearing.

“Oh Twilight I almost forgot.” Rarity called out to her.

“What is it Rarity.” Twilight Answered back politely.

“Since this may take a while, would you do me a small favor, can you go down to Fluttershy’s to maybe deliver these.” Rarity gave Twilight a bag of what appeared to be curtains.

“are these for flutter shy ?” Twilight asked curiously.

“Oh yes I worked on them yesterday. Apparently Flutter Shy’s were torn by one of her animals, so I worked on these with Spike, I never got the chance to deliver them so I was wondering if you could. Of course while I work on Hei’s clothes.” Twilight knew she couldn’t just tell Rarity no.

“um sure why not, the rain hasn’t fallen for a bit I’m sure I can make a dash over there.” Twilight said happily, then turning to Hei.

“Don’t worry I’ll stay here with Rarity, till you get back.” Hei said Smiling, which Twilight couldn’t tell if this was genuine or an act.

“Um okay well I’ll see you in a couple minutes then. Twilight said beginning to leave for the door, suddenly to be stopped by an unlikely voice.

“I’ll go with her.” Yin finally spoke up. Hei looked at Yin, wondering exactly what she was up to, but he knew now wasn’t the time to question it.

“Um sure Yin you can go with Twilight.” Hei said faking  another smile.

Yin simply nodded, and followed Twilight out the door.

Twilight wondered through the Puddle ridden streets in ponyville, heading up to Flutter Shy’s house, Yin walked closely to Her looking around the town. Twilight didn’t know weather to make conversation with the strange girl or just stay quiet. Finally Twilight gave into her curiosity and began to chat with Yin.

“So umm Yin are you enjoying your stay here ?” Twilight couldn’t really think of any better questions.

“Yes.” Yin answered In her usual emotionless tone.

Twilight felt very awkward at this point. Here was someone who barely spoke, or showed emotion for that matter, and she was trying to have a conversation with her.

“hmm Yin why exactly did you want to go with me anyway ? I’m just curious.” Twilight asked Yin with great interest.

“I don’t want you to go alone and get hurt.” Yin said turning to Twilight.

Twilight was generally shocked by her response. What was gonna hurt her, did Yin know something that she did not. Twilight decided to not think about it, Yin was probably just being nice according to Hei she still has her emotions.

Twilight finally reached Flutter Shy’s house. Her and Yin walked up to the front door, and began knocking.

“Flutter Shy you home it’s me Twilight, I have your um, curtains.” There was no response. Twilight waited for a minute, and still no Flutter Shy. She began to get worried.

“The animals are afraid.” Yin said getting Twilights attention. Twilight peered around the house where Yin was looking. Sure enough, the animals were all cowering in place. Twilight began to become terrified, the dark atmosphere of the day didn’t help her current mood. she ran to the door, using her magic to try and break it down. To her surprise, it was actually already open. The door creaked open, revealing a ransacked house.

“Wha what happened here ? Flutter Shy where are you !” Twilight called out now fearing for her friends life.

Twilight began darting around the room, looking in every corner, some sign that Flutter Shy was alright.

“I found her.” Yin said getting Twilights attention. Yin was kneeling next to a small table, Twilight immediately  ran over to find Flutter Shy cowering under the table.

“Flutter Shy !”

“T Twilight...it was awful.” Flutter Shy leaned into Twilight sobbing.

Flutter Shy what happened here. ?” Twilight asked looking down at Flutter Shy’s chest to see a huge gash that was dripping blood.

“Flutter Shy ! oh no who did this to you !” Twilight was becoming hysteric

“Twilight we have to leave now.” Yin said standing over Twilight and Flutter Shy.

“Your right. come on Flutter Shy we have to get you to a hospital.

“Hu Hu hurry , he was looking for you Twilight he...he.” Flutter Shy said still sobbing as Twilight helped her up.

“It’s okay Flutter Shy, your safe now. were going to find who did this to you. Twilight said to reassure her injured friend. Twilight finally helped Flutter Shy outside, Yin following close behind them.

“Flutter Shy do you know who did this to you.” Twilight persisted, only receiving a whimper, she assumed now wasn’t the best time to discuss this, her friend was hurt and she needed to help her. At that moment Yin finally stopped running, Twilight stopped with Flutter Shy.  Flutter Shy’s face turned to Horror as she stared at  a cloaked figure in front of her.

“Th that’s him Twilight we have to Run!” Shouted Flutter Shy as she began to panic. Rage began to build inside Twilight as she turned to face the cloaked figure.

“You! your the one that Hurt Flutter Shy aren’t you !” Twilight’s horn began to glow.

“Ah the famous Twilight Sparkle. Looks like I ran into some luck. I’m quite glad. I was getting tired of interrogating that worthless piece of crying trash your carrying.” the figure spoke in a male voice a smile creeping across it’s face.

“How dare you talk to my friend like that, show your face NOW !” Twilight shouted at the figure who complied taking off the whole robe it was wearing. Twilight gasped at what lie under it. It was black, red eyes, holes in it’s legs, and slightly taller than Twilight. No mistaking it.

“Your a changeling.” Twilight said rather calmly.

“I’d thought you’d recognize my kind. After all, it was you,and the other elements of harmony that lay waste to yy dear Queen Chrysalis's army in the canterlot invasion. However, don’t expect the same thing to be fall me.

“Is that so...you just look like any regular changeling say for the red eyes,but for what you did. I’ll make you regret hurting Flutter Shy in such a way...you...you monster !” Twilight’s rage began to flood back, as she gallop toward the foe in front of her.

“You truly are foalish.” The Changeling leap over Twilight landing with a flip.

Twilight stopped and looked back surprised by what had just happened. he leaped over her like it was nothing. he didn’t even use his wings. Twilight knew instantly attacking head on would be useless, but an attack from a distance. Twilight shot out a beam of magic directly at the changeling. She knew no pony could doge an attack at this speed, she  had him

“heh I expected more.” With that statement, the changeling, to Twilight’s surprise. twisted his body to the side, the beam barely missing him by an inch.

“How how did you move that fast.” Twilight was shocked at the same time horrified.

“ Very simple I’m able to increase my reflexes using my own magic. It’s a form of magic not even you have mastered Twilight Sparkle. heh now I guess I should formally introduce my self. I am Queen Chrysalis’s Personal Assassin. Crimson Iris.” He began to draw a large dagger from the sheath on his side.

Twilight was now terrified. How was she going to get out of this. “No” she told herself she wasn’t backing down, she had to do it for Flutter Shy and for Yin. She’d fought worse than this guy.

“I don’t care who you are, your a danger to my friends, that’s all the motivation I need to stop you.” With this Twilight teleported behind Crimson, her horn now charged for a second attack. Finally getting behind him Twilight was met with hoof connecting to her face.

“Your to slow Sparkle.” Crimson stated.

Twilight fell to the ground, on her back feeling a sharp pain where she was hit. She looked up at her opponent angrily. Her eyes meeting with his blank red ones.

“I actually thought this would be a challenge, it’s hard to believe your the threat my Queen was talking about.” Crimson raised the Dagger, looking back at Twilight who seemed to not show a drop of fear. “ Once you’re dead, Equestria’s fate will be sealed. It’s over Sparkle. Crimson ready himself to strike her down.

“He’s here.” Yin suddenly broke the Silence  Catching everyones attention.including Crimson’s

“What are you talking about. who’s here ?” Crimson asked annoyed at Yin for interrupting his kill

Crimson annoyed  slowly turned his head to have a foot connect with his Jaw, sending him flying forward. Twilight looked up shocked, at the figure now  standing before her. despite the erie white mask he was wearing she knew who it was.

“Hei !” Twilight shouted, she never thought she’d be so happy to see him.

Crimson got up to see who had kicked him. Standing before him wearing a black coat and a white smiling mask.

“Thats impossible ack, no one can sneak up on me like that. What the hell are you !” Crimson asked angrily, catching Hei’s attention.

“I’m The Black Reaper.....”
