Equestria's Contractor

Hei tracked through the Dark streets of Ponyville, with Yin asleep in his arms, and Twilight Sparkle at his side.

The three of them coming from Pinkie Pie’s welcome to Ponyville Party, thrown for Hei and Yin. A party which he had to admit to himself, wasn’t a complete waste of time. The party had gone on for around four hours. After Yin and Hei danced others joined in. Though none of the ponies approached Yin and Hei letting the two be alone. After Yin had fallen asleep Twilight decided to call it a night. Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack and Rarity walked Flutter Shy home due to her being injured. While Pinkie Pie stayed to clean up after the party. Hei had to admit he was actually tired and desperately needed sleep, looking down at Twilight he could tell she was thinking the same thing. The unicorn traveled behind Hei trying to keep her eyes open, to the road in front of her.

“Whew what a night, I haven’t been to one of Pinkies parties in a while defiantly takes a lot out of you.” Twilight said laughing a bit to her self catching Hei’s attention.

“Yeah I suppose. You should get some rest, you’re probably tired from what happened today.” Hei replied with a surprisingly pleasant tone. Not as nice as what he used to introduce himself to Rarity, this one felt more natural.

“What about you Hei, you had quite a day, saving me and also spending the rest of the night with Yin, you must be exhausted. I’m not sure how you do it, is that what a human is naturally able to do.” Twilight asked giving him a smile.

“No, i’m actually exhausted as well, I just know how to deal with it. I’ve gone days without sleeping or eating before.” Hei said turning to face the unicorn.

“I don’t think I could manage. By the way hows Yin doing ?” Twilight asked curiously. Hei looked down to Yin fast asleep in his arms her head cushioned by his chest. The light from the moon making her Hair almost shine along with it. Hei smiled a bit before turning back to Twilight.

“She’ll be fine she just needs some rest.” Hei said finally seeing the library coming into view. illuminated by the moon up above them The stars captivating Hei’s attention the most. He could see they were different from the fake stars in his world. There was a natural beauty that seemed to captivate his attention. He snapped back into reality upon seeing the sky disappear under the shade of the leaves and branches of the great tree, which was Twilights library. Twilight brushed past Hei lazily, letting out a single yawn before getting the front door keys with her magic. The door opened as Hei and Twilight where greeted by the brightly lit Library. Spike was in his corner fast asleep in his bed, snoring a bit. Hei turned over to Twilight who was putting out some of the candles barely keeping her eyes open. Hei turned to her Yin still in his arms.

“You head up to bed Hei hehe I’ll put out the candles don’t worry.  Oh and shower is down the hall, it may be a bit small but should still work for you.” Twilight said giving him a very exhausted smile.

“Alright then, you get some sleep as well, I wouldn’t want you to be tired in the morning.” Hei replied walking up the stairs with Yin in his arms.

Hei after taking a cramped shower, and changing, he moved to the Bed that him and Yin shared. He loosened his grip, placing her on one side of the bed carefully, making sure not to disturbed her. He looked down at her with a kind smile while also stroking her cheek gently. He finally got up to put his Jacket and equipment away in the wardrobe by the bed. He noted the clothes Rarity made were very comfortable before  closing the wardrobe door. He walked back over to the bed, and climbed in next to Yin, making sure not to disturb her. Yin didn’t stir, continuing to sleep in silence. Hei rested his head on the pillow falling into sleep faster than he had actually anticipated.

Hei opened his eyes to find him self in the very same star lit sky that Luna had brought the both of them in the previous dream. The wide open sky illuminated by the many stars that occupied it’s space. Hei then turned to face forward. Sure enough he saw princess Luna walking towards him, her usual star covered mane flowing gracefully. She took a few more steps towards him and stopped.

“evening Hei, I take it your night has been well.” Luna said in eager voice.

“It was alright. I will say I did expect it to go worse.” Hei replied calmly.

“Well that is good to hear, but I can tell thou wants to discuss the incident that occurred today.” Luna said her voice now turning serious.

“Yes I would like to discuss that. Have you and Celestia come to a decision on how were gonna handle the situation ?”

“no we haven’t come to a full decision on what to do in terms of attacking Chrysalis directly. For one we do not know of her location, so we wouldn’t be able to make a direct assault. However, we do suspect she is going to send more of her drones to Ponyville and Canterlot. It is possible that they are already here in disguise.”

“What do you mean by disguise ?” Hei asked with concerned interest”

“Changelings are able to transform into anypony, that lives in this land. For that reason there extremely dangerous, as they can blend in very efficiently, and that is why if they were here already, they wouldn't make it easy for us to notice.” Luna said sighing. “Crimson Iris is a different story he’s unable to change into other ponies, we still don’t know why that is.”

“If there other changelings in this area how do you think we’d be able to draw them out, especially if there as efficient as you say ?” His demeanor still unchanged.

“Hm from what I could see in your memories. These type of situations seem to be your specialty. though I must inform you that  me and my sister are needed in Canterlot I’m afraid. The guards in Canterlot on are aware of these details and are on constant surveillance, However Ponyville still needs protection. Which inevitably will have to fall on the elements of harmony, and you.” Luna said seriously, but with slight optimism, as if she knew she was making the right choice.

Hei looked at luna his face now serious. “You realize that letting me take control of this situation may result in some of these changelings getting killed. Or have you already taken that into consideration.”

“Yes unfortunately we have” Luna said gravely “I haven’t forgotten who you used to be and what your capable of, but I do believe that you don’t kill unless there are no other options. That is why I’m trusting you to do whats right.” Luna said giving him a small smile.

Hei nodded “I can’t make promises, but I will try not to kill any of them unnecessarily.”

Luna smiled “ I wouldn’t have asked this of you if I didn’t think you were capable.” Luna said now looking upwards at the sky.

“Where would you like me to start in trying to find, these changelings.” Hei asked back in his usual calm tone.

“Tomorrow morning, all I will need from you is to take a look around ponyville, but be vigilante these changelings if there here will not be easy to spot. The only way to spot them is generally by odd behavior or the most obvious there magical aura, which as you know is a very bright green.”  Hei simply nodded at luna. “Now I suppose I’ve taken quite a bit of your time, tis hath been a long day for all of us, I shall let you rest.” Luna said beginning to walk into the star abyss. before turning to face Hei on more time.

“I Just have one question, does it bother, the possibility that you may take a life.” Hei had expected the question, but he answered it all the same.

“After doing something you hate for so long, it almost becomes normal.” Hei answered. If there was one thing Hei always hated, it was killing people, and Luna knew this. It was the only thing that made her trust Hei, despite knowing what he was capable of.

Luna smiled at him “Thats all I needed to know.” Luna began to walk away from Hei. “Farewell for now Hei.” with that Luna faded into the night sky.

Hei woke up the next morning. He had to admit, that was probably the best sleep that he’d had in days. After being on the run for so long, sleep had become part of letting your guard down. He then felt a warm hand  holding his, as he saw Yin stirring, slowly beginning to wake up.

“Why are you awake so early ?” Yin asked in her usual tone.

“Sorry for waking you Yin. I just have to head out today early.” Hei said giving her a small smile.

“why ?” Yin asked almost immediately. Hei sighed as he knew that he had to tell her.

“I was informed that there may be more like what attacked us yesterday in the town. I’m going to try and find them.” Hei said getting up to put on his equipment.

“What should I tell Twilight.” Yin asked turning to face Hei.

“Theres no use in hiding it from her. Just tell her what I told you.” Hei replied finally putting on his coat and his mask. “If she decides to go after me please go with her just in case. you can use your specter to contact me if you need to.” Hei knew that Yin might actually have a better chance at identifying the changelings, but after last night, he thought it best for her to rest.

“alright” Yin finally replied watching Hei begin to leave through the nearby window.

“I’ll be back don’t worry In the mean time you get some rest.” Hei said reassuringly. Yin responded by smiling at him slightly. This was obviously very new to her.

With that Hei jumped to the ground below him. Walking out onto the usual busy street he could see Ponyille wasn’t as Crowded as per the norm in a town like this. only a few ponies were out at this time, and most of them Hei didn’t even know. However as he walked through the streets he found on particular pink pony who recognized him instantly.

“Heie ! what are you doing up with your mask on so early.” Pinkie asked as she hopped over to him sporting her usual friendly smile. Hei honestly didn’t have time for this but he figured Pinkie Pie might be of some use to finding the changelings.

“I could ask you the same thing.” Hei replied his calm expression hidden by his smiling mask, which Pinkie seemed to admire.

“I always wake up this early silly.” That didn’t really answer Hei’s question but he wasn’t going to question her on the matter.

“Well I should tell you that Princess Luna contacted me last night, saying there may be changelings in this area, It would be useful if you kept an eye for any sign of where they are.” Hei said trying to be serious with the spontaneous mare.

“Hmmmm I’ll keep a look out. you can count on me Heie.” Pinkie Pie spoke in a way that Hei couldn’t tell if she was being serious or, well, herself.

“umm thanks Pinkie Pie. That will help.” Hei said rolling his eyes a bit.

“By the way Heie did you have fun at your super duper welcome to Equestria party !” The pinke mare asked Eagerly. even though it was covered by the mask Hei smiled. Knowing that he couldn’t lie about the party.

“I enjoyed myself thank you.”

“Don’t mention it. any time you want to throw another just give me shout.” Pinkie Replied jumping for joy at his answer. “Anyhoo I better get back to my bounce, see ya later Heie.” The pink mare began to bounce past Hei in the other direction.

Hei raised his eye brow at this, but brushed it off quickly as he continued his walk through the town. Hei scanned through the small crowed that  was outside. he knew he was at a disadvantage, if Luna was right about what she said, looking for unusual behavior would be harder to pinpoint than he thought. He didn’t even know what qualified as normal behavior for any of the citizens in the town. Without that information he was left in the dark. Regardless he still needed to find a way to identify them, or at least get a clue of who they might be. Perhaps he would need some assistance.

“Mister Hei !” Hei turned to the familiar voice of the filly Apple Bloom. Next to her were two other fillies one a orange pegasus the other a white unicorn.

“Apple Bloom What are you doing out this early.” Hei said calmly taking off his mask as not to intimidate them.

“Were out for another day of trying to get our cutie marks you can never start to early.” Apple Bloom said in her enthusiastic voice she demonstrated when they first met.

“Oh ah almost forgot mister Hei this is Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle.” Apple Bloom said pointing at the Orange pegasus who she called Scootaloo and the White unicorn she called Sweetie Belle. Hei observed the two fillies who were eyeing him nervously.

“Um Apple Bloom this was who you were talking about, he looks pretty weird, and that mask he was wearing was pretty creepy.” Sweetie Belle spoke cringing a bit.

“Don’t worry he kinda does it to protect his secret identity.” Apple Bloom interjected.

“hm it’s pretty cool look probably not as cool as Rainbow Dash though.” Scootaloo said proudly. Hei sighed knowing this was gonna be a long day.

“By the way mister Hei why are you out dressed like that today ?” Apple Bloom asked curiously

“I’m looking for suspicious activity in the area.” Hei said almost immediately.

“Are you like on some secret  mission ? can we help.” Apple Bloom uttering those words seem to excite the other two fillies

“No it’s not.” Hei was cut off again the three of them

“We could be CUTIE MARK CRUSADER SECRET AGENTS!” The three fillies shouted in unison. Hei felt like his ears had been assaulted. Having these fillies tag along was a bad idea, theres a possibility they could be killed.

“I’m afraid I can’t let you come along. It’s far to dangerous for you.” Hei said as he began to walk away.

“Wait we might know something that could kinda be like what your looking for.” Apple Bloom spoke up catching Hei’s attention

“I’m listening ?” Hei said turning back to face them.

“Well yesterday we did see these two ponies meetin near the Everfree forest, which was odd at the time, but we really didn’t think about it.” Apple Bloom said obviously trying to find more to say.

“Did you see there faces any thing defining about them ?” Hei asked now convinced that this was a possible lead.

“no um the sun was setting and we were in a rush to get home so we didn’t really get a good look at them. All we could see was that one was defiantly a mare.” Scootaloo added in.

“could you give me the location where you saw these two, I have a feeling it’s who I’m looking for.”  Hei saw the three fillies look at each other mischievously which bothered him.

“We won’t tell you but we’ll show you if you take us with you.” Apple Bloom said with a smug grin that almost made Hei want to slap her across the face, but he remained calm. He knew that he wasn’t going to get any where arguing with them, and quite frankly he didn’t have time for it. If what they were saying was actually true, he would be able to locate and stop two changelings possibly stationed in Ponyville.

“Fine show me this location, but afterwards, your going to leave the rest to me, and also on the off chance we run into trouble. You do as I say no questions, and no talking back to me. Do you understand.” Hei said sternly. Receiving very frantic nods from the three fillies. “Alright, lead me to the area.” With that the fillies began to walk ahead towards the area that they described.

The four of them began to talk out of Ponyville and out towards the outskirts of the town, which Hei had seen coming from Sweet Apple Acres. The road was rather quiet, with the occasional pony that would pass by giving them a rather bewildered look, but that was to be expected.

“Hey you um you haven’t exactly told us who these ponies your looking for actually are.” Scootaloo finally spoke up looking back at Hei.

“Yeah are they dangerous or something ?” Sweetie Belle added. Hei couldn’t tell them who these ponies were, they would probably panic, and that was the last thing he needed.

“I just have to ask them some questions, theres a possibility they are dangerous, I’m only trying to see if thats true.” Hei replied trying to be as vague as possible.

“So what exactly do you do Mister Hei, are you really some kind of secret agent ?” Scootaloo said persisting with the questions. Hei really didn’t feel like making idle conversation, but he wasn’t in a position to just ignore them.

“No I’m not. Honestly the reason why I’m investigating this matter currently is because I was asked to, I’m not doing this as a job.” Hei replied looking down at the orange filly.

“Oh but then whats your special talent, do you have cutie marks where your from ?” Scootaloo asked eagerly  only to get a reply from Sweetie Belle.

“Scootaloo you know not everything can have cutie marks.”

“I know I was just seeing if he did ?” Scootaloo said slightly annoyed.

“I notice the three of you don’t have these marks, why is that ?” Hei asked still pondering the concept of a cutie mark, although the name to him sounded ridiculous.

“Well we haven’t gotten our cutie marks yet, you kinda get them when you discover your special talent.”

“Were here !” Apple Bloom called out from the front. Hei looked around to see they were on the edge of what was the Everfree forest. He began to remember the night that him and Yin came to this world, and how they woke up in the in the forest. However these thoughts didn’t stay with him long as his attention was caught by Apple Bloom running over towards the entrance of the woods. He followed her, the other two fillies trailing behind him. Apple Bloom suddenly stopped examining the area she was standing in. Hei walked over to where the filly was standing. near one of the trees at the forest entrance.

“Is this where you saw them ?” Hei asked examining the area for himself.

“Yeah this is the spot, Like we said we couldn’t really see them clearly as it was gettin dark.” Apple Bloom replied looking up at Hei.

Hei Scanned the area looking through the Dark trees ,and the ground beneath him for something that could indicate that a changeling was here, but theres was nothing. The area looked completely untouched, no blood no footprints or hoof prints in this case . Hei turned back to the three fillies who were attempting to look for clues.

“You three, you said one of the ponies you saw was a mare. Was there anything about her that was unique hair shape, body type.” Hei chose his words carefully knowing he was still talking to children.

“ummm not really I don’t think we were able to get that good a look at them.” Sweetie Belle said putting her hoof under her chin. However Apple Bloom soon interjected

“Well ah did kinda say the mare looked like miss Cheerilee but ah wasn’t really sure if ah was right.” This caught Hei’s attention automatically, as he turned to face Apple Bloom.

“Who is Cheerilee ?” Hei asked sternly.

“She’s our school teacher, but even though she gives us the occasional detention, I don’t think she’s dangerous mister Hei.” Scootaloo said looking up at Hei confused.

“Even so, I’d still like to speak with her, I can’t completely rule her out now, since you’ve told me that you may have seen her.” Hei said calming down a bit.

“Oh alright well our school isn’t far, ah think she might be there at the moment.” Apple Bloom Said turing to walk in the direction she pointed at. Hei and the others began to follow behind her.

“Mister Hei, do you honestly believe our school teacher is dangerous, I mean it does sound a little silly.” Sweetie Belle asked looking up at him.

“Like I said I’m not certain, but I’m not going to dismiss it on the off chance she is.” Hei replied, seeing the school come into view. “Keep in mind what I said earlier if we run into danger, you do what I say.” Hei received a proud nod from Sweetie Belle.

Hei and the three fillies approached the school. Automatically Hei noticed  it was very quiet, which only made his suspicions worse. Reaching the door he began to knock on it, the three fillies huddled behind him. However, before he could get an answer a female voice called out from the side of the school.

“Apple Bloom Sweetie Belle Scootaloo is that you ?”

Standing in front of the four was a dark pink earth pony with light shades of pink in her mane, her cutie mark being three smiling flowers.

“oh uh hi miss Cheerilee.” Apple Bloom said nervously.

“What in Equestria are you doing here at this time, and oh.” She turned to Face Hei who never took his eyes off her.

“Oh hello there, you must be the human that’s living in Ponyville, I never thought I’d get the chance to meet you.” She said with a polite smile.

“Yes my name is Hei.” he answered politely trying not to show his suspicion.

“Is there something I can help you and the girls with Hei?” Cheerilee asked, not even showing a hint of being rude or even unpleasant.

“Yes there is actually. Apple Bloom claimed to have seen you around the edge of the Everfree forest, I believe it was in the evening.” Hei said getting straight to the point.

“Well...I can’t really think of any reason why I might have been there, Is Apple Bloom sure she saw me ?” Cheerilee  said glancing at Apple Bloom for a second.

“No in fact she only thinks she saw you, but I still wanted to come and see you, just to be sure.” Hei said his facial expression not changing for one second, this seem to put Cheerilee on edge, and Hei could see this. He knew he wasn’t getting the full story.

“Well it is a possibility that I was wrong. As Apple Bloom said, she only thought she saw you, however I’d still  like to have a look around the school if thats okay with you.” Hei said turning to face the red school building.

“Not at all, just I can’t allow you directly in It’s being renovated today, your free to look around the outside.” Cheerilee said regaining her polite tone.

“Is that so. Well we won’t be long.” Hei said turning to the girls, who replied with a nod as they followed Hei into the school yard. Cheerilee simply smiled and allowed them in.

Hei began to walk around the playground slowly, looking for what he would call clues, but truthfully he didn’t know exactly what would count as one. His only hope was that the three fillies would be able to pick up on something out of place. Everything seemed to be in order, well for what classified as a child's playground, there were no signs that anything was out of place. However maybe it wasn’t outside that held the anwsers. Hei noticed how Cheerilee wouldn’t let them inside due to renovations. It was very likely she was hiding something in there. Sweetie Belle then broke Hei’s train of thought

“Hey um Apple Bloom. it may be just me but don’t you think Mrs Cheerilee was acting a little suspicious to us back there, I mean I saw her react a bit oddly to one of mister Hei’s questions. Hei was surprised she was able to catch that. This filly was obviously very observant, and this also confirmed that he wasn’t wrong to be suspicious.

“Yeah ya’ll are right bout that, also find it odd that the school is bein cleaned it looked fine last time we were there ?” Apple Bloom replied.

“Yeah I’ll admit that doesn’t make a lot of sense, but you don’t think Miss Cheerilee is hiding something do you?” Scootaloo added slightly unnerved.

HeI decided he had to get in the school, one way or another. He stopped his search and made his way back to Cheerilee who was waiting for them. The Three fillies following him closely

“Were you able to find anything ?” Cheerilee asked curiously.

“No we weren’t. I apologize for bothering you like this.” Hei said bowing as an apology.

“Not at all, I’m sorry you couldn’t find anything here, but I do hope you find what your looking for.” Cheerilee said giving Hei a smile. A smile that he didn’t buy for a second.

“Thank you. have a good day.” With that Hei, walked away with the girls. He kept on Glancing back waiting for Cheerilee to leave. She turned away from the school and began to walk in the opposite direction. As soon as she was out of sight, he stopped and turned back to the school.

“Um mister Hei what’re we doin” Apple Bloom asked confused.

“I don’t believe I got the full story. We are going back to get inside the school.” Hei said beginning to walk back towards the building. The Three fillies followed him eagerly.

“Wow this is like one of those stealth type missions, this is so cool.” Scootaloo said giving an eager smile as she followed along.

“Yes and because of that I want you three to stay with me at all times no going off on your own.” Hei said as they all approached the side door of the school.

“You got it mister Hei.” Apple Bloom said giving a salute.

Hei nodded and turned back to the door nob. He began to turn it slowly, expecting it to be locked. To his surprise the door actually opened rather easily. Hei didn’t take this as good luck, seeing this he immediately took out his knife as he opened the door. The three fillies jolted back as the door opened to reveal a dark school room. Hei stepped inside cautiously with the fillies peering around him. The classroom’s windows were all closed, making the room quite dark, the only light coming from the now opened doorway. Hei moved around the classroom inspecting the desks and any other items that were on them. The crusaders did the same, checking there own desks for anything. Hei still couldn’t find anything. He couldn’t get Cheerilee without evidence, and there was obviously something hidden in this school, but what was it. She obviously lied about the renovations, that much was clear from how the classroom looked. Spotless, it was absolutely spotless.

Hei was beginning to get  frustrated, however something began to catch his attention. It was a small dripping noise. Hei looked on the desk next to him, on it was a green liquid, which was very gooey when he dipped his finder in it. Seeing this his eyes immediately shot up to the the dark celling.

There was Cheerilee wrapped in a green cocoon. The three fillies looked up and gasped calling there teachers name. Hei instinctively leapt up cutting the cocoon down with a single slash of his wire connected knife. Hei landed back on the ground catching the cocoon before it hit the floor. He had to admit that it was heavy. Setting it down slowly, he used his knife to cut out the kindergarten teacher.

“Is she okay ! ” Sweetie Belle asked terrified, just like the other two.

Hei noticed she was breathing, and relaxed,

“Yes she’ll be fine, we just need to get her out of here.” Hei said turning to pick up the unconscious mare, only to get a response.

“huh ...what, happened. Last thing I remember was...” Cheerilee said waking up.

“Miss Cheerilee your alright !” Apple Bloom said hugging her teacher tightly.

“Apple Bloom ! what is going on ? why are we, in the school ? ...huh who are you ?” Cheerilee’s eyes fixed on Hei.

“I’m here to help, come on we have to leave quickly, can you walk ?” Hei asked in a rush to leave.

“yes I  think I can.” Cheerilee said getting up. “I think I’m going to be okay, I’m just a little exhausted, but sorry for asking this again, but who are you ?” She asked again relaxing a bit

“Who indeed.”

The four of them turned to see another Cheerilee standing in the doorway.

“You ! so you your the fake miss cheerilee !” Scootaloo said angrily pointing her hoof  at the figure in front them. Hei glared at her, knowing they weren’t in a good position right now.

“Hmm I knew you were onto me from the beginning I was merely bidding my time.” The Fake Cheerilee said as she began to be engulfed in green flames. Hei stood there observing the the pink purple pony turn into the black creature known as a changeling. The flames cleared, revealing, a slim black pony insect hybrid, long flowing light blue mane, and a pointed horn. It’s eyes a light blue, and also baring sharp teeth. Cheerilee and the three fillies stared in horror at the creature in front of them. Hei finally began to speak up.

“Cheerilee, take the girls and get out of here. The door opens from the inside, you’ll be able to get out the front.”

“Um yes.. of course. Girls we have to go” Cheerilee gathered up the girls and lead them to the entrance.

“Mister Hei what about you !” Apple Bloom shouted.

“I’ll be fine, just get yourselves out of here.” Hei said eyes not leaving the changeling in front of him. Apple Bloom nodded uneasily, as she followed the others outside.

“Thats cute, sticking up for the little ones. Quite frankly, I’m glad there gone, I’d like to avoid extra causalities. Oh yes  I want you all to myself, after your dead I’ll just be on my way back to my dear queen. The female changeling smiled maliciously.

“Your not going any where. If any one dies here. It’s going to be you! ” Hei stated as he put on his mask, and with the other hand raising his knife.

“hmm love the mask, very nice touch, I’m assuming it’s for intimidation, but I digress. Let me introduce myself. Black Rose of Queen Chrysalis's elite.” The top magic user. Rose stated as she brushed back her long blue mane. “I assume you must be the one Crimson fought. your..” Hei finished her sentence.

“BK201 the Black Reaper, and I’m done talking with you.” Hei said as he threw his cable attached knife at the creature, who to Hei’s surprise didn’t even move. She simply faded away the knife hitting the wall behind her. Hei reeled in the knife turning around to see the changeling standing behind him.

“Now that was incredibly rude. I can see your very eager to fight. very well, hmm I’ll call you BK201 it’s shorter more convenient  than Black Reaper don’t you think ?” Hidden under his mask Hei was getting annoyed at her calm attitude. He knew he’d have to be careful with this one. Her speciality being magic, put him at a huge disadvantage.

“hmm well lets begin shall we.” Rose’s Blue eyes and horn began to glow green as she levitated several of the sharpened pencils off the teachers desk, the pencils having a green aura on them. Hei ducked as the pencils were launched in his direction. He looked back quickly to see them stuck in the wall. immediately he saw she was able to increase there strength with her magic, making them as strong as a knife. Rose began to launch another set, Hei now aware of the danger, launched him self in the air with a backflip. The now deadly pencils again hitting the wall behind him. Using his hand to balance him self Hei used his other hand to throw his cable attached knife. Rose gasp, throwing her self to the side, just barely avoiding the knife. Hei seeing he missed reeled in the knife, as to make sure she couldn’t use it.

“hmm You have extraordinary reflexes.” She said giving him a smile. “I’ll have to watch myself.” with that she began to levitate the many desks in the class rooms.

Hei was at a loss on what to do. There wasn’t enough space in this classroom for him to move, and with that many obstacles to avoid, he was bound to eventually get hit. Snapping back to reality, Hei found each of the desks coming at him. Hei threw himself forward in an attempt to avoid the desk, however there just wasn’t enough space. Hei felt his body being hit by the wooden desks, the force causing him to fall to the ground. Hei groaned in pain, as he began to push the desks off of him, at the same time forcing himself to stand up. he could hear a small chuckle coming from Rose.

“You truly are interesting. I honestly didn’t expect you to get back up so quickly. I suppose I’ll have to try something else.” Black Rose’s horn then began to glow again, however she wasn’t levitating anything. Hei knew this attack, and wasn’t taking any chances. Immediately Hei threw him self into the backdoor, breaking it on impact. He landed on the grass outside, picking him self up quick enough to see the green energy blast erupting from the school walls. Hei shielded  himself with his arms, as charred wooded flew in all directions. He lowered his hand to see the giant hole left in the school. That blast was defiantly a lot more powerful than the ones Crimson had used, a lot more destructive. Hei then looked into the clearing smoke to see a green eyed silhouette exiting through the hole.

“That was very quick thinking on your part, if you hadn’t left the building, you’d probably be dead.” Black Rose, stepped into the clearing smiling at Hei. “I wouldn’t worry your self to much though, I can only use that attack after a long period.” The smoke finally cleared, as she began to talk towards Hei, causing him to step backwards.

Hei knew this wasn’t looking good for him. He couldn’t attack her head on or from a distance, at least not from the front. This magic wasn’t like a contractor’s ability, she could essentially do multiple things and not have to pay a price. Hei was beginning to think of ways he could win this fight. If he still had his ability of molecular manipulation. Wait ! he remembered Celestia and Luna saying they saw his sister each time they looked into his soul and mind. Was it possible he still had his abilities, if so how could he channel them. Hei however, remembered this was no time to ponder on that subject matter, as Rose’s horn began to glow again. She began to rapidly fire the green energy however these blasts were smaller, and faster. Hei dashed Front rolled to the side avoiding the blasts, flying by almost as if they were bullets. Rose continued to fire, each shot continuing to miss Hei. He continued to dash from side to side as to throw off her aim. Hei knew if there was any chance of an attack it was now. He front rolled in her direction, barely avoiding the blasts. Rose  began to fire another attack, seeing what Hei was aiming to do, but it wasn’t enough. Hei Lunged at her contorting his body to avoid getting hit. He then brought his knife across Rose’s face. Rose in an instant began to fade away, the knife slicing her cheek just before vanishing. Hei flew forward catching him self from falling on the ground.

Hei out of breath, immediately looked around for his opponent, seeing her beginning to reappear only a foot behind him.

“Wow now that was a rush. I guess I underestimated your speed BK201, I can see how you gave crimson trouble. If I hadn’t teleported, I’d probably have lost my head.” Rose said breathing a sigh of relief. Hei readied himself, knowing she had something else she was going to try. However he was much more confident now, knowing he could at least hit her.

“Alright, I guess I’ve had enough fun with you, I’m afraid I’m going to have to end this. Obviously I can’t hit you, I guess I’m going to have to restrain you.” As soon as Rose said that Hei, felt his body tense up.

Hei cursed himself, realizing he’d gotten to close to her. He was unable to move his body, his fist still clenched on his knife. He struggled, his limbs only moving an inch. He glared through his mask at Rose who simply smirked.

“Don’t bother, trying to move. You’ll only hurt your self. Truth is I didn’t feel like reducing myself to use this spell, but even I must admit, this fight has gone on to long. I’m going to end it.” as soon as she finished, Hei felt the hand that held his knife began to move slowly, he tried to keep it back, but the strain was to much. He knew that she was going to make him impale himself in the chest. Hei now knew his options were very slim, theres was only one thing he could do, and he was very uncertain it would work, but at this point he was willing to try anything. He began to focus his mind closing his eyes and  tensing his muscles and block out any outside distractions. Black Rose looked at Hei in confusion wondering what he was doing. She began to suspect something wasn’t right. She was having trouble moving his arm, almost as if something was stopping it.

“Concentrate”

“What on are you up to BK201 ?”

“Concentrate”

To Rose’s surprise, she began to lose her magical grip on Hei. The strain of trying to keep the spell going was starting to build.

“Concentrate”

“He can’t be breaking free of this, unless, this is some sort of magic !” Rose was beginning to panic at this point as the strain of keeping Hei still began to build even more.  A blue aura began to form around Hei. This was something Rose had never seen before

“Concentrate !”

Electrical sparks began to lash out around Hei, causing Rose to recoil, the spell lifting off Hei as he let his arms go limp. Hei gripped the Knife in his hand tightly Sparks whirling around the blade. He then looked up at Rose,who at this point was utterly shocked.

“What ....what did you do, From what I deduced you don’t present any magical skill, it should have been impossible for you escape my hold.” Rose said trying to calm herself down.

“Before I came here I use to posses an ability to manipulate electricity at a molecular level. I eventually lost this ability, However after what I was just able to do, it seems that it was sent into a dormant state.” Hei said his tone now confident, as he began to approach Rose, who was beginning to back away. “My hunch was right, your magic obviously, built from atoms, as long as thats a factor, I’m able to cancel it out.

“Manipulation of electrons, Equestria only recently made these discoveries of the existence of atoms. around forty  years ago. Heh you only continue to fascinate me BK201. ” Rose began to charge up for another attack. Hei seeing this readied himself. Rose then smirked as two roots began to come out of the ground in an attempt to grab Hei. Hei seeing this rolled forward  moving again towards her. Rose was shocked at Hei’s direct attempt to attack her. Using her magic she attempted to hold him still now that he was in range, but something was straining her ever time she attempted to even use the spell. She didn’t want to admit it but, she was unsure she would win. Snapping back to reality. She continued to fire at Hei in a vain attempt at trying to hit him, but to no avail. Hei reached out, grabbing Black Rose by the neck, hoisting her up, till her eyes met with the empty black ones of his mask.

“It’s over.” Hei said quietly.

“ack..it would seem that way, but please you don’t have to kill me, isn’t there a trivial need for interrogation.” Hei tightened his grip on the changeling. All sense mercy was gone, at this point in time. Almost as if the contractor side of Hei had taken over his instincts.

“Your no different than any contractor I’ve killed. Your all the same. You make me sick. If I let you live, you’ll just attempt to kill everyone here. I’m putting an end to it.” The blue aura began to form around Hei, seeing this Rose began to panic.

“Wait ! Please. Please don’t, I don’t want to die. I can help you.. please I...I” Rose began pleading under chocking breaths.  Hei ignored her pleas, he knew it that if she had the chance she’d kill him in an instant. This was the logical thing to do, but was it the right thing to do ?

“Hei. Please don’t, don’t do it !”

Hei turned around to see Yin, her face stricken with tears, behind her Twilight Sparkle Pinkie Pie and the cutiemark crusaders, who had shocked looks on there faces.

“Hei please your not this kind of person.” Twilight added in. “Just let her go.”

Hei complied and released Black Rose. The Changeling fell to the ground coughing, eventually getting put in a magical prison by Twilight. Hei,s mind seem to be put at ease as he snapped back to reality took off his mask slowly, and went over to the others.

“How did you find me ?” Hei asked quietly.

“Apple Bloom Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo came looking for us, after they told us what was going on we rushed over here.” Twilight replied giving a shy smile.

Hei nodded turning, to Yin who walked over to him tears streaming down her face. Hei pulled her into a hug, realizing the gravity of what he almost did. He promised he wouldn’t kill if it wasn’t necessary. That was a lot easier said than done.
