chapter 1: the beginning

Chapter one : The Beginning

Time in Equestria 2000 plus years ago.

---Time: night, heavy thunderstorm, location: Everfree Forest---

"Come my love, we have to move!"

During this powerfully stormy night, two hooded ponies keep a fast, yet steady, pace through the trees and heavy rain attempting to flee from something...or someone.

"Gallant! Please slow down, I can't keep up!" said the other hooded pony, her voice filled with the seeming of a mare in pain.

" I'm sorry my love but we must get as far away from that cursed city as possible. I will not have you reside there any longer, not while 'HE' is in control", said the larger hooded pony.

Through the sound of heavy, clanking metal you could hear the voice of a stallion from under this hood. As they continue to sprint through the forest, assaulted every step by the fierce storm, the mare's hoof catches a large stone in the middle of their path. Falling, landing on her stomach, she cries out in agony. The stallion immediately stops to help his injured companion to her feet, leaning her against the nearest tree. Taking on a life their own, the mare's legs attempt to provide release for the life within.

"Oh no, not now Crescent! You must hold on, you must!" Tossing her head back, crying out in pain, a long scarlet mane held in a ponytail braid falls around the golden shoulders of a fearful unicorn mare. " I cant hold off any longer!"

Scooping up Crescent, Gallant runs as fast as he can to a nearby cave he spotted from beneath his hood. Feeling his wife cringe in pain, expelling blood and broken water with every groan, Gallant hurries to a nearby cave he spotted from under his hood. After setting Crescent down inside the cave, the towering unicorn pulls back his hood revealing his rust colored coat and brown mane which barely conceal the dried blood matted in and matching his coat. A scar over his right eye, although intimidating,does not hinder Gallant's vision. However, the freshly sewn eye-patch covering his left eye does.

Using his magic he lights up the cave and kneeling infront of his wife who was in a huge amount of pain

" it's coming ahhhhhh it's coming!!". the young mare breathed rapidly and screamed at the top of her lungs as a small horn began to come out from between her legs. "that's it come on push you can do it."

Her husband said cheering her on while he had his hands out ready to catch the little newborn foal. with a few more pushes the little foal came out and landed in his father's hands.The new born foal was a jet black unicorn with a white mane and the little foal gave out a cry that when he did the storm grew stronger and loud. Gallant turn to see the storm grow and looked back at his son who's little legs were kicking like he was running.

" what a energy you have little one and the storm grows stronger with you i shall name you Storm Runner." He looks to his wife who smiled at the name but suddenly starts to scream again. Gallant couldn't believe it a second foal was being brought into there lives. When the second foal came it was another colt with colt was as white as snow and had a mane as black as night. As his new son cried out for a breath the storm stopped and began to clear a ray of sun light beamed down on the cave and Cresent spoke. " Sky..(pant) Breaker....( pant) his name will be my love." He looked to his wife and looked down to his new son " Sky Breaker a strong name these young colts will do great things. great things indeed." with the sun shinning bright and the skies clear of the raging storm the future was looking bright.

-5 years later-

"Stand fast general of the black army Gorn Horn!" Me and Sky were playing our favorite game Battle of the Horns that our father
took place in leading the soldiers and knights into battle. Oh yea by the way my old man Gallant Step is a knight of the Equestiran
Royal court. He was a top general, national hero and a adviser to the old king of the land. But back to the game me and Sky were
playing the battle. i was the dark general.....again and Sky was our father.......again" take that Gron face my blade" Sky yells as he
hits my head with his toy sword." OW SKY THAT HURT! why am i always playing the bad guy?"I look at my brother with a tear in
my eye. my brother looks at me and said's" Cuz your really good at it and you never really ask to play as da" the sound of a heavy
foot step enters the room we both look up to see a armored stallion standing in the door way. " Now who dosent really want to act as me when acting out one of my victories?" we both smile as our father smile after speaking. "DA!!" we both yell as we run to him clutching his legs.

Our mother walks in to greet our father the meet with a kiss and he looks down to us and crouches to our height.

" so my brave little knights are you ready for your first day of training?" our father wanted us to be knights like him and to help him in the battle against the new tyrant lord of Equestria the god of chaos the master of mistif and the bringer of horror Discord the Draconaqus. "Ya Da we are ready to become knights and slay monsters and protect the land like you " i say as my brother nods in agreement with me. Our father smiles at us." Well then my boy's let us be off the day is good and we must go. for if we stay the night the scariest monsters and gouls come out to snatch away little colts and fillies for a midnight snack!"

I being young shakes like a leaf but my brother smirks at my fathers story. We follow our father out the door and our mother kisses our cheeks wishes us luck and kisses our father. Telling him to take care of us during the training he only nodded and walk behind us. the training of a knight is hard and filled with peril but with my brother and parents at my side i will rise from the darkest knights and the shine brighter then the sun to protect the weak, to destroy evil were it grows but most importantly to keep safe your family and friends that was not only the code of a knight but the code of my family.

wow two new colts born in a world of chaos yikes talk about trouble. but with there training started who knows what will happen
