New master, New life

* Darkroom*

" Princesses damn it! Life was so simple, all me and Sky did was train and live on the family farm. Train and raise crops never worry about what was going on on the outside world."

I paced back and forth in the room trying to remember more of my past, trying to figure out when the world and his life went to hell. But again the blinding white light appered and he looked into it seeing another memory this was a good memory and this one was when his life changed forever.

"Hey now i remember this. this when me and Sky............" and I went mute as the light engulfed me and i faded back to the time when things changed for me and my brother.

*Edge of the Everfree forest west side, cliff face. 15 years later*

Gallant blade sits upon a cliff looking out on the rest of the Everfree, the rest of the world and can only fine peace which bring some happiness in this crazed world full of chaos and horror. Gallant breaths deep sucking in the smoke from his pipe the taste of the tabacoo fills his mouth and he closes his eye and begins to meditate. With his blades strap to his side he may be at peace but he was always ready to fight always, always ready to go to war. His back to the forest he couldn't see the two figures moving throught the tree line quietly swords bared and armor quitely shuffling as they ready to strike. Suddenly gallant's eye shot opened and the two armored attackers jumped from the trees blades raised up and were brought down to strike gallant. But with speed that surpassed the attackers. He drew one of his blades with the sheath still attached to it and blocked the two strikes and shoved them off with one arm and he smiled at the attackers.

" You did well to hide your pressence and you suppresed your magic so i couldn't feel it you two are strong. But I will not let up on you."

He looked upon the two warriors and smiled. the two wore armor that looked like the eastern bushido warriors one wore white armor that looked of the clear sky the other black he had seen before there helms that had holes on the top so there horns could stick out of them and the biggest feature on the helms was there eyes. The helmets have magic in them that make the eyes look whited out to give them a more fierce look to them and stood poised in a fighting stance low to the ground ready to strike again.

Gallant steels himself drawing both blades from there sheaths as the two warriors prepared themselfs. " Alright then come at me."

The moment he stopped speaking the two assailant began there attack unleashing a torrent of strikes with blinding speed and heavy blows. The sounds of clashing metal and armor, grunts and yells of combat filled the forest as the attackers kept striking until gallant made one fatal move. He over stepped with his blind side and left a opening. the white armor attacker saw this and went for the shot. But the black assalint stopped in his tracks with gallants blade near his throat and the other blade near the other attackers heart. Gallant was about to say something but he felt something on his chest he looked down to see the two attacking blades crossing over his chest. all he could do is smile and pull his blades away and stand up.

" Well done you have passed you final test now remove your helms and take a knee my sons."

The two removed there helms to reveled to be myself and my brother Sky it has been a long and hard time. Training day and night fighting hard to become what we were born to do. Today was the day we joined our father in the noble ranks of knighthood. We were to become knights of Equestria.

" I the Knight commander Gallant Blade of the Equestrian knights, anoint you, my sons Sky breaker and Storm Runner to follow your ancestors as i have in becoming knights sworn to protect the weak, make strong the good and banish all darkness back from wence it came from. Kondia Ameraa curo dundike. these are the words of our family they mean for life we fight and now with the power invested in me i knight thee." He draws his sword dawn and taps it on both our shoulder. " Sir Sky breaker, Sir Storm Runner no longer squires you answer to no one but the true rulers of Equestria the princesses. Now rise as Stallions, rise as Warriors, rise as knights!"

After saying that our father took out his blades of our family the ancient swords dawn and dusk. the blade dawn was a light colored blade that shimmered in the light and the guard was half of a rising sun. The other sword Dusk was a darker color blade that glowed in the light of the night and the guard was that of the moon. Sky was given dawn and I was given dusk, when I took dusk I could feel a connection with the sword and for a moment i thought i could feel a heart beat in the sword like it was alive. From the stories we were told as colt's the swords were made by our forefather, he took his own heart and soul and put it into the blades to defeat a sinister dark dragon. But he died after the battle but his heart and soul still lived within the swords and within each of us. We have never felt so honored to continue to carry our family tresures.

Both of us rose to our hooves and embraced our father. The pride that me and sky felt this day would carry us forward from this day to our last.

"come my sons let us return home i think i can smell your mother's cooking she must be waiting for us. Tonight we shall celebrate your knighthoods and to the future my boys."

We both gave out a battle cry of happiness and all three of us headed home to wooden cottage built into the trunk of a tall old oak tree the house was not old but the tree has been there for 500 years. I counted the rings as our father built our home with only his hands and minimal magic. Now i know what your thinking "why is a unicorn not using all his magic?" well my father had a saying, "when magic failed the mind provale, when the wings fail the muscles provails" he told this to all his troops from unicorns to peguses and earth ponies. These are words we were told everyday so we made our bodies stronger and our minds sharper.

We reached our home to see our mother standing outside smiling at seeing us and her holding a plate of fresh cookies. our mouths water as me and sky tackle the cookie plate and we fight over them. she giggles and rolls her eyes and walks over and hugs our father, kissing him. she then walks over to us and hugs our heads.

" I'm so proud my colts are now stallions and knights. I'm the proudest mother alive." she starts to tear up, only with tears of joy not of sadness.

"mother were are the ones more happier and honored to be your sons." Sky said to her as we kiss her cheeks hugging her back. our father joined the hug and we all had a good laugh.

Then our father stood up and said to us" today is a day to celebrate, my sons knights and me and my beautiful wife living life. Tonight we celebrate and then tomorrow my sons we join the war." we both looked at each other with serious faces and looked back at our father and nodded at him. But after all of us entered our home we celebrated with a full spread of food and drinks. we haven't had this much fun since me and my brother got our cutie marks after we were squired, our marks were a knights helmet with a shield and sword in the background. Our parents were beyond thrilled when we got them. after a nigh of celebration our parents went up to their room and sky helped me up to our room cuz i kinda got a little crazy with the cider. not my proudest moment.

As we reach our room i look at my brother." you nervouse?" He only smiled and shook his head. "No Storm im terrified hahahah!" We both laughed loud and hard as we entered our room and hit the hay.

*Next morning*

A open shutter and a blinding light and me and sky are up and getting ready to join the fight against discord. but when we reach the kitchen we find our mother with two bags and our armor polished. she stands there smiling at us.

" your father went ahead to tell the princesses about you two and prepare you to join the fight." she starts to tear up " im so scared and proud of you three, but im afraid you wont come home" she puts her face in her hands crying. me and sky move to her hugging her. " Mother we will come home, all three of us i promise." sky said as we hugged mom tighter she smiled and kissed our heads and helped us into our armor and we headed off from home. with a final wave goodbye we left mother to go see our father and the rebel forces.

" Haha i can't wait to fight alongside father and the princesses." i said to sky who was in deep thought. " Yea me too, i can hardly contain myself, annddd have you heard the rumors about the princesses. From what the old man told us they are suppost to be really beautiful." a devilish grin creeps onto sky's face." Ha and what are we thinking of gutter head? You think you got a chance to romp in the hay with them?" i laugh out loud. as sky looks at me." Buck yea brother Especially the older sister Celestia I've heard she's drop dead gorgeous with a plot that lasts for days." Sky thinks more a he starts to drool a little with naughty thoughts building in his mind. i could only roll my eyes and think about the other sister Luna i was told she was not like her sister but in her own why she was more beautiful then her older sister and that she was a brilliant mind which was something i held high in my head. In truth i couldn't wait to see her and see if the rumors of her beauty and mind were true.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"

A loud yell filled the woods as we began to run towards the sound of yelling and fighting. But the thing that made our hoofs feel like they were off the ground flying was the heavy scent of blood that filled the air, we knew then we had to fight and be ready to kill if needed. We reached the site of the battle to see a blue alicorn with a cresent moon cutie mark on her armor and twelve guards surrounding her and the opponent was a large ursa major. But there was something off about it ursas were normally not this agrressive to attack for no reason, with a quick glance we saw the eyes of the animal to see them yellow and red swirled irises. This ursa was under the control of Discord as a crazed war beast. The giant beast swung its huge claws at the group slashing the three front guards killing them instantly there armor and flesh torn like paper, blood covering the ground and gasps of the fallen warriors. the warriors closed around the alicorn one warrior young and inexperianced attacked the ursa striking it on the face with his blade.

The blade merily bound off the beast and it clamped its jaws around the young fighter. the monsters fangs crunched and smashed him in his maw the guggled screams of the warrior struck fear in the others the you blue alicon merely yelled out" For Equstria thou must fight!" she lunged at the ursa striking it with her slender rapier mutiple hits land on the beast's face even one shot plucks out it's eye. The chaos ursa gave a awful wail and struck the alicorn with the back of its paw slamming her in to a tree, it then charged her and stopped before her standing on its hind legs and brought a paw upwards and brought it down to strike her, to kill her. She was out of breath and the guards couldn't reach her in time so it was time for us to act.

As quick as lighting and as strong as a mountain Sky drew dawn and blocked the claw holding fast as i helped up the mare to her hooves and handed her off to the guards. with a quick flash of magic our helms appeared over our heads and our eyes turn white as death and we let out our battle cries swiftly moving around the beast slashing and striking its sides, head and neck until the crazed ursa drops dead at out feet. with a yell of victory the warriors around the warrior mare cheer and yell glad that the monster is no more. With the fight over our helemts vanish and we turn to the smiling alicorn, Suddenly her face turned from a smile to a shocked and horror as she raises her hand to us pointing and yelling at us. we turned to see what she was pointing at.

*GLUSHED*

My eyes went wide as i looked down to see claws buried in my chest and blood pouring out of me. Sky could only yell as the ursa who came back to life lift me off my feet and throw me at the princess and her guard. i landed into her arms a bloody mess and my head in her lap as she cradles it looking at me with a sad face all i could do is look at her beautiful cyran eyes knowing this was princess Luna and say in a heavy voice

"........Sir..*pant* Storm Runner....*pant* at...*pant*....thy service*pant*.....your highnesss." I say as I slowly slip into a coma and begin to die bleeding to death. A single tear drops from her eyes as she looks up to see my brother fight the ursa with only one arm. The ursa took it with a swipe of its claws after it threw me. " I WILL AVENGE MY BROTHER YOU GODDAMN MONSTER!" His cry was loud as he was flung back sliding next to Luna and he turns to look at her and me, her eiltes engage the beast to save us. " Sir Sky Breaker, Brother to Sir Storm Runner, Son to Gallant Blade, Knight commander of the Equestrian knights at your service your majesty."

A huge boom and crash catches Sky's and Luna's attention as a huge figure larger then the ursa grabs hold of its head kneeing it in the face and breathing fire upon it catching the beast on fire. As it screams in pain from being on fire the other figure forms a ball of gray energy on the tip of its finger and it shoots a beam of energy at the ursa blasting it to pieces leaving nothing standing.

With nothing but smoldering ash the figure opened it wings showing it was a dragon and with a might flap of its wing blew away the ash. The Dragon now turned its attention to us, it was a large gray dragon wearing a battle robe, one of his horns were broken off and one blind eye and a long gray beard. He moved towards us and bowed to the princess. " My lady are you alright?" he saw my unconscious body and my brother's missing arm. He walked over to my brother and set his claw on fire before Sky could move the dragon grabbed the bloody stump and burned the wound shut. Letting out a pained yell the scent of burn skin and blood filled his nose and he gave quick heavy pants. and then he walked over to the princess who was still holding me he took a knee and looked at the wound i had. Three large gashes in my chest i was still breathing, but barely.

He looked at me then my brother." You two without hesitiation moved to protect the princess without a second thought, and for that i thank you." He looked at me" I can save him and you from death for it comes for you both but this is your choice if you take my offer you are to become my students, to listen to me, to do as i instruct and in time you will be stronger. If you don't sadly you two will not survive the night."

Sky thought upon this but not very long, he promise to get all of us home and he intented to." We are your students from here on out my master."

With a smile the old drake stabbed his hand, blood flowed out of the open cut on his hand and he placed it into my wound and his blooded flowed into my blood mixing and melding. He removed his hand from my wound and almost instantly the wounds closed up and i began to breath normally. with claws still flowing blood he moved over to sky and jammed his bloody claws into his stump and and pumped some of his blood into him. removing his claws from my brother a pain shot through his arm and and from the burn stump bone shot out from it the sound of flesh and blood remaking itself was gut retching but within moments a new arm appeared and the old burn flesh was gone.

" My name is Greywing I am your new master my students and if you two make it through the night you will become more then you can ever imagine."
