Equestria: The Later Years
Generosity
Previous ChapterAs the cold rain fell onto the blank streets and ally ways of Ponyville, a white figure sat shivering inside of a box outside Sugar-cube corner. She looked up at the decrepit building, the pink paint faded to a nearly unidentifiable shade, and the building ravaged by years of neglect. The broken sign which was displayed into the broken windows of the building which read forcefully; 'FORECLOSURE'
Tears were hidden in the barrage of rain which had now become increasingly predominant,
"Of all the worse things that could have happened, " She spoke aloud, sobbing.
"This was the worst possible thing..."
The white mare drifted downwards into her box, and wrote a sign for the next morning that said 'Will pleasure for food'.
When the morning came, she sat up and her greasy coiled purple mane was falling off, and blotchy. She grabbed the sign and held it in front of her stomach as she sat inside of her box. She grabbed a shade of lipstick and eyeliner from a plastic bag she kept with her, and put it on with twitchy hands. She looked upwards as the passerby's, giving puppy-dog eyes to them. People looked downwards, or simply turned their heads in disgust. As they did she lowered her head in embarrassment. How did Rarity, the top designer in Ponyville, manage to end up like this? in a broken box, lonely, living in the past. she sad up and wiped her face from the snot and tears that had ruined her make up, blotching on her face and fore arm, and walked away from her box. Leaving all of her personal items there, the plastic bag, make-up and the pictures of past friends, but took a tiny broken mirror she had.
The Ponyville tower clock struck Twelve, and the bells rang. She looked at the moon high in the midnight sky, grabbed a rock, and smashed the mirror into three pieces. She grabbed the largest and sharpest of the pieces and wrapped purple cloth around it.
She walked down the street in a hoodie she made with her make-shift tools. In the darkness she could see a figure fast approaching, she had to do this if she wanted to live. She has to eat, doesn't she? so what does it matter if one pony dies for one to live on.
The figure drawing nearer, Rarity quickened her pace. The time was neigh.
She drew the broken glass from her pocket and stabbed the figure in the stomach passing by, the mare who had been out jogging grunted heavily before falling to the ground. Rarity crouched and from the pocket took the wallet of the mare. As Rarity started her escape, her eye's saw the face of her victim.
"O-...Oh sweet C-Celestia no.." She said quietly to herself
Rarity shedded tears for the bleeding mare, with the dark pool forming. After a couple of seconds of mourning, Rarity fled the scene. The mare flipped herself onto her back like a sloth and looked upwards into the night sky. Seeing the clouds one last time as she drifted aimlessly into an enclosing darkness. And with that, Rainbow Dash drew her final breaths and died that night.
