Both Sides of an Eclipse

Today's the day! Eclipsus thought to him self. He had just awoken in his white room covered in artwork he had made to make it seem, not so white. He entered the hallway and into the dinning room. Some of the patients sat at the table munching at their breakfast. Two mares sat in the corner and laughed at the joke they shared between one another. The others, he thought, must be in there rooms.
He trotted over to the nurses station, “Anyone here yet?”
“Eclipsus! Good morning, I'm sorry but no. The social worker says she needs to talk to you about it,” Eclipsus' hopes crashed into the ground.
“I am getting out today, Right?”
“As far as we know,”
“Oh, well, where is the social wor-”
“Eclipsus!” a voice called out. That must be her he thought. He turned around to see a well dressed mare with a bright blue mane. She smelled heavily like old pony perfume. “Hi there, can we talk for a minute?”
“Uhm, yeah, I guess,” They both walked down the hall and into a small office room. The walls littered with family photos of the social worker.
“I have unfortunate news to tell you, Eclipsus,” Oh no, he thought to him self. “Your parents will not be picking you up today, I'm sure you remember the interview with the other case worker about your parents and lack of communication?”
“Uh, yeah,”
“Well they never did try to contact us, and do to law, if a patient under the required age of consent loses contact with their parents or guardians for over a year, it is marked as abandonment,”
“What!? Why, how, can I-”
“Calm down Eclipsus, The Royal Court of Canterlot has agreed to take one-hundred percent custody,”
“Its, its not the same! My family can't be gone! No,”
“Please try to understand that if your parents do come back to get you, they can issue a presence with the Princess and ask for custody,” Eclipsus didn't say a word. He looked at the walls and pictures of the social worker. There were some of them in front of the ocean and some of them at a football game. One of them stuck out to Eclipsus. It was of the social worker laying in a hospital bed, and in her arms were a filly. A mother and child. Something Eclipsus didn't have any more. The love of family had abandoned him. His mother had abandoned him.
Eclipsus then saw her. The one that had him put in the nut house. Miss, the one that showed her self when he was going down the path of insanity. Her eyes cold as ice and her mane, made of shadows. He knew he had to ignore her, for if he didn't they would prolong his stay more. So close to release, he couldn't let that happen. He looked at the social worker.
“Who is coming to get me then?”
“Celestia sent a high member of the court to retrieve you. Once out, you're going to the Canterlot Castle to discuss more,” she winked “I've always wanted to go there, your very honored to go there, and in the presence of the princess herself,” It didn't seem like an honor, his family was gone and he had just become property. A toy, Miss said his ear, And like a child, they're going to break you, then, throw you away. Maybe, and if they did, he wouldn't mind.
“I'm going to pack, if you'll excuse me,” he nodded and walked off into the ward. The social worker sat back, deep inside she felt sorry for him. Just then, a pony with a black suit and glasses walked into the room. He had a serious look on his mug.
“Princess Twilight has arrived to pick up Eclipsus,”
“The Princess?”
“Yes, the courts usually send a case worker. There's something special about him they see,” The social worker had a blank look on her face. The stallion in the suit sat down, “and I bet my right hoof its got something to do with 'Miss'.”
