Another Cabin in the Woods

Inside Castle Nightmare, Pitch Black sat by a large organ and played a very dreary tune. His shadow was walking around the room behind him. "All is lost..." Pitch Black said softly.

"But you said that you want revenge. You were so sure to get back at the humans" the shadow said.

"So I did... But I out thought into it and I realized... Those humans will just make things worse for me."

"But you're the King of Nightmares, you can unleash different kinds of hell!" The shadow exclaimed.

"And the humans will just pick them off one by one!" Pitch snapped. "I don't think I should be calling myself 'King', my shadowy friend."

"But sire..."

"Just leave me alone for awhile..." The shadow nodded and slipped into the floor, reattaching itself to Pitch Black's body. The latter continued to play the organ, overcome with depression and failure.

Canterlot

I walked down the hall of the castle half awake. I say 'half awake because I honestly don't know where I was going to go in the first place. I snapped to my senses when I accidentally bumped into a wall. Now I remember! Princess Celestia wanted to see me in the throne room. I made my way over to said room and approached the door. The two royal Pegasus guards knew the Princess was expecting me so they stepped aside and let me in. I walked down the aisle and approached Princess Celestia. I still carried the habit of bowing to her.

"Cale, the formalities are unnecessary" she said.

"I can't help it" I said as I got to my feet. "Even with your sister, I still can't help but bow."

"I'm touched" she said. "But I assure you, you won't receive any form of punishment from me if you don't bow." That's a relief.

"Thank you Your Highness" I said.

"And please... 'Princess Celestia' will do just fine" she added.

"As you wish... Princess Celestia" I said.

"Now on with business as to why I called you here" she said. I stood straight and listened carefully. "A friend of yours dropped by not too long ago and told me to hold on to this." She used her magic to hand me an envelope. I tore it open and gasped.

"Chase wants me to go to Ponyville. And he also has invited Jack, and Remy as well! I think I know what this is about." I continued to read the letter. " 'Bring Flutterbat'..." I smiled and folded up the letter. "When does the train depart?" I asked.

"Chase has asked me to personally teleport you there" Princess Celestia answered. "Just come to me when you're ready."

"And indeed I will" I said. I headed over to the doors and opened them. I walked down the hall and headed over to my room to ask Flutterbat if she wishes to come to with me to Ponyville. I opened the door to my room and stepped inside. I closed the door behind me, as well as all the curtains in my room to darken the area. "Flutterbat?" I asked as I approached my closet. I lightly knocked and pressed my ear against it. Inside, I heard a really soft hissing sound. I opened the closet door and saw Flutterbat hanging upside down by her tail, her wings wrapped around her. She opened her eyes and I was greeted with her vampiric red eyes. She uncoiled her tail, flew out if the closet, and hovered around me, hissing happily. "Some bat pony's happy to see me" I commented. Flutterbat now hovered in front of wearing a look on her face as if she's wondering why I woke her up.

"I'm going over to Ponyville to visits some friends. Wanna come?" I asked. Flutterbat nodded but then glanced at the curtain. Oh right... The daylight. I needed to come up with a way to settle this. I put a finger to my chin and paced around the room. What is it could I do to make Flutterbat have a good time without being affected by the sun's rays. Several soft hisses got my attention. "What?" I asked confused. Flutterbat made gestures with her forehooves and repeated her hissing noises. Same tone, same rhythm.

"Are you sure?" I asked. She nodded. "Ok, if you say so." I stepped out of the dark room and into the bright hallway. Flutterbat hissed at the sun reflected stain glass window before clinging onto me with her wings. As I made my way back to Princess Celestia's throne room, Flutterbat kept glaring at the rays reflection through the window. Even though the sun won't kill her, she still has a strong dislike for it. Considering the fact that Flutterbat and I are a... Thing now?... She's considered a resident to Equestria. The second I stepped into the throne room, Princess Celestia looked at me as if she knows I'm ready.

"You're ready to go, aren't you?" She asked.

"Sure am, and so is she" I said, gesturing to the bat pony on my back clinging onto me like a cat just got sprinkled with water.

"Very well." Her horn glowed and a flash of white engulfed Flutterbat and I.

Ponyville

Jack and Remy lounged in Princess Twilight's library along with the Mane Six. "Chase better have a good reason for bringing me here" Remy complained. "I was so close to congratulating a Pegasus for making into the Wonderbolt Academy! A dream he has finally fulfilled!" He kicked a wall but cried out. "Ouch... God!" He muttered quietly.

"I'm sure Chase has a good reason for bringing us here, darling" Rarity assured.

"I hope so" Remy growled. "Because if he doesn't, I'm gonna--" a flash of light appeared in the middle of the room. Flutterbat appeared from the light.

"Flutterbat!" Jack exclaimed.

"What is that ghastly thing?!" Rarity asked as Fluttershy hid behind her.

"I'm gettin' my rope!" Applejack shouted. Rainbow Dash was about to tackle it down, but Princess Twilight used her magic to stop Rainbow Dash.

"Girls please" she said. "She's one of us."

"Are you sure?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.

"Very sure" she answered. Jack noticed something.

"Where's Cale?" He asked.

"You tell me" my voice said. They all glanced up and saw that my jacket got snagged on a bookshelf so I was hanging from it. Princess Twilight used her magic to teleport me to ground level. Jack couldn't help but laugh.

"Hilarious!"

"Yeah... Haha" I faked a laugh. "Funny."

"Um... Cale?" Fluttershy asked nervously. "About the Flutterbat?"

"Oh I heard everything while I was snagged up on the shelf. Watch this." I picked up an apple from a fruit basket sitting on the coffee table. "Uh..." I said as I stared at Twilight, pointing to the apple.

"Of course" she said with a smile.

"Thank you." I turned to Flutterbat and took a bite out of the apple. The smell of the apple juice attracted her. She flew over to me, and stuck out her tongue. Like a lasso, she grabbed the apple from my grasp, and brought it to her mouth. They watched as she sucked the apple juice from the apple. What amazed them was that she left some for me. I took it from her mouth and bit into it. "You want the rest?" I asked. Flutterbat hissed, grabbed the apple with her forehooves and began to suck the apple dry.

"I never knew she could do that" Remy said.

"Now you know" I answered. I watched as Pinkie Pie bounced around Flutterbat.

"Oh! Oh! We should throw her a Welcome to Ponyville Party!" Fluttershy aporoached Flutterbat.

"Um... Hello" she said almost timidly. Flutterbat hissed softly and extended her hoof towards Fluttershy. The latter hesitantly hoof bumped the bat version of her.

"See? Friendly once you get used to her" Princess Twilight said.

"But if you hurt Cale in front if her..." I cut Jack off.

"You, shush! They don't need to know that."

"Know what?" Rarity asked.

"Nothing" I said quickly, hoping that she'll drop the topic.

Just then, the doors burst open, startling us all. Chase hurried into the room.

"Twilight's here, right?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm here" she said. Chase took a giant step over to her.

"Ok good because I want to talk to you and it's serious" he said.

"Oh my gosh, is everything ok?" Fluttershy asked worriedly.

"Is it?" Princess Twilight asked worriedly.

"Well um..." Chase began, scratching the back of his neck. "There is only one way I can describe the seriousness of the situation." He hesitantly got on one knee, emitting gasps. Pinkie's was the loudest one. Princess Twilight gasped and put a hoof to her mouth. "Now I know it's a bad idea right now but..." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black velvet box. "Will you marry me?" He asked as he opened it.

I know they are already engaged, but I'm starting to wonder why hide this fact from everypony and put on this act like this is Chase's first time doing it? Twilight's friends were surprised and put on expressions, hoping it would be a 'yes'.

"No, no, dude, come on" Jack said.

"Bad idea, Chase, come on... Don't do this."

Princess Twilight leveled herself to Chase. "Yes" she whispered. But they continued to pull the act. "Chase, why are you doing this?" She asked. Chase closed the box and looked at this.

"You know... I don't know. I mean this seemed like a good idea at the time." Princess Twilight gave him an unamused look. "I'm doing this because I'm sorry."

"How do you propose because you're sorry?" Jack asked.

"I mean 'sorry' because its pretty much a mixture of being ready, and wanting to get married. Which I'm not" he laughed to himself. "You will be my wife, right?" He asked as he opened the box again.

Princess Twilight smiled and laughed. "Yes" she said. Her friends cheered, as did me and Flutterbat.

"Wait a minute hold on" Jack said as Chase out the ring on Twilight's horn. "Proposing is that easy?!"

"Oh shut it, you don't have a mare friend" Remy said.

"I always saw it as hard and intense. Why so simple?"

"Clearly the love they have was meant to be" Rarity said. The ponies gathered around Princess Twilight and Chase to congratulate them. I glanced at Flutterbat and nodded. She returned the gesture. While congratulations happened in one corner, and Remy tried to calm Jack in another, Flutterbat and I quickly snuck out of the library and down the streets of Ponyville.

Castle Nightmare

"I have it!" Pitch exclaimed as he stopped playing the organ. "I know how to start my revenge!" His shadow rose from the floor.

"You do?" He asked.

"Yes. I shall start with the leader. I'm going to target the Flutterbat that was made to kill him, but instead, she helped him kill his fear!"

"How?" The shadow asked. "I'm going to kidnap her and bring her to Earth."

"And you'll torture her?" He asked.

"Much better than torture" he said with a grin. He fired a blast of black aura in front if him and some kind of mirror appeared.

"That's it? You'll kidnap her and take her to that?" The shadow asked.

"Looks can be deceiving my friend. This may not look much, but there are dark secrets hidden within that places. Secrets that are dark as my castle." The two of them continued to look at what was through the mirror.

A cabin in the woods.

He tapped his walking stick on the floor rhythmically. Several security guards armed with assault rifles emerged from the shadows and bowed before Pitch Black. "What is it, my lord?" One of them ask.

"Find the one named Flutterbat" he said, showing them a picture of her via aura. "She's always hanging out with him." He made another aura with my face on it. "Kidnap the bat, and bring her to that place" he said, pointing to the cabin. "Once you get there, hide yourself with the humans. Blend in with your new surroundings. And don't fucking let slip where you came from." He clicked his fingers and the auras and the images vanished. He banged his walking stick on the floor and a black portal appeared. "I shall be watching you. Once you have the bat, I'll create a portal that leads you to where I want you to go."

Ponyville

It took some time, but Flutterbat was now getting used to the sun. The two if us walked along the grassy plains outside of Ponyville. Not far from us was the Everfree Forest. "This is nice, huh?" I asked the bat pony walking next to me. "Chase and Twilight are engaged, Jack is freaking out, and and I are alone on the field without any distractions. Flutterbat rose on her hind legs and placed her hooves on my chest. Every time I look into her red vampiric eyes, my heart beats faster and faster. They say men do crazy shit when they're in love. And I somewhat agree. We both leaned forward to kiss.

"There they are!" A voice shouted. We turned our heads and saw a squad of soldiers dressed in black. One charged at me. I quickly grabbed his assault rifle, elbowed him in the chest, yanked it out if his grasp, cocked the gun, and gunned him down, making several bullet holes. I raised the gun up again and gunned down another. Flutterbat flew by me in her anthro form. She tackled a soldier and began biting at his neck. The soldier screamed in both fear and pain. Eventually his screams died down while blood pooled all over the grass. Any soldier that tries to stop Flutterbat, I gun down. One soldier crept up behind me and whacked me in the head with the butt of his gun, rendering me unconscious. The anthro bat pony hybrid turned her head and gasped. Before she could do anything, a soldier knocked her on the head, knocking her out.

"We got the package" a soldier said.

"Good" Pitch's voice said over the radio. In his lair, he was holding a radio that he had made. It too was shrouded with black aura. Take the bat and leave the boy. The portal to the cabin will be waiting for you."

"Yes my lord" the soldier said.

Back in Ponyville

I slowly came to and found myself back in Canterlot. I was lying in a hospital bed. I quickly sat up with a gasp. "Flutterbat!" I got out if bed and out into the hall. "Flutterbat!" I called.

"She's gone" a voice said. I turned my head and saw Jack standing there, looking sad. "We found your unconscious body as well as several dead bodies and blood."

"How did you know where to find me?" I asked.

"The noises of gunfire gave it away."

"Where is she?" I asked.

My Room

"Cale.." Princess Celestia said. "Flutterbat is being held in a building that's far from civilization... On Earth."

"And the workers there a cruel, the scientists a hostile, and the security are corrupted" Remy added.

"Good" I answered. "That's all I need to hear."

"Cale, are you serious?" Remy asked. I didn't answer him. Instead, I turned to Princess Celestia.

"Do you know where the place is?"

"I do but... I'm scared that you won't make it back."

"Just tell me how to get back" I said in a serious tone.

"Go to a secluded area and say the name of this world." I smiled.

"Works for me."

"Cale, listen to yourself, you're going back to Earth" Chase said.

"Yeah so?" I asked.

"Cale, face it, you'll probably be never seen again" Jack said.

"And the place she's being held is probably also run by torturers, insane interrogators, or worse... Slavers?" Remy suggested.

"Then I'll kill them all just to get her back" I said.

"But..." They said in unison.

"Enough." I opened a drawer and grabbed a handgun. "Flutterbat chose me as her special somepony" I said as I picked up a mag. "And as her special somepony, I'm going over there and I'm bringing her home." I inserted the mag into the gun and pocketed it.

"Cale, the place she's being held..." Jack said with worry.

"You're forgetting one thing Jack. I'm a skilled assassin."

"But Cale, the place is being run by workers, scientists, corrupt security, and they have a storage of monsters. God knows what they're being used for. And Flutterbat is one of them" Jack said.

"I'm guessing that you didn't catch what I said" I said seriously. "I'm going to kill them all... Just to rescue Flutterbat."

"You do know you're basically going to Hell and back, right?" Chase asked.

"I know" I said without thinking. I didn't need to think of what I was doing. "Now you're getting a glimpse of how much I love her. What's so difficult to understand?" I asked. I was pleased with their silence. "Good. You understand. Now if you'll excuse me..." I picked up another handgun and pocketed it. "There is an Equestrian resident... A bat pony that turns into an anthro if you upset her greatly... That I need to save." I turned to Princess Celestia and nodded. My three friends stepped back and watched as I was transported to Earth... Once again.
