Another Cabin in the Woods

Chapter 5

Flutterbat looked up from her meal and looked at me. She licked the blood off of her mouth and stood up. Klaus and Rat move back a little. "Careful, Cale" Klaus said cautiously. I approached her and smiled.

"Ready to head back to Equestria?" I asked. She shook her head and a soft hissing sound.

"I see" I answered. "You want me to help my new friends get out of here?" She nodded. "This won't be a problem, considering that you and I can't die on Earth." She nodded wearing a smile that showed all her bloodstained fangs. I turned around to the two remaining cons. "Well guys, I believe that there's an exit we have to find. But first, I have to do something." I walked over to Brclay's body and knelt next to him. His eyes we slightly opened and so I closed them. I took his arms and crossed them. I did the sign if the cross and folded my hands.

"A shepherd I shall be
For Thee my Lord for Thee
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand
That my feet may swiftly carry out Thy command
So I shall flow a river forth onto Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be.
In Nomine Patri
Et Filli
Spiritus Sancti."

I got up and turned to my three companions. I nodded to them. "Let's get the hell out of here."

"How?" Klaus asked. I pulled out a red key from my pocket.

"We find a red elevator, we find a way out" I said as I pocketed it.

"Cale?" Chase asked. "About what Roland said... What is really going on?" He asked. I stopped walking and so did Flutterbat. I turned to the two cons.

"I'm not a con" I said. I decided to hide the fact that Flutterbat and I are from Equestria so came up with a lie. "This creature is an experiment. I was just an apprentice to help my boss fuse a bat and a pony. This is what we got. Then some men barged not the lab and killed my boss. The bat hybrid you see before you killed them all out of anger. In the midst of the chaos, I was rendered unconscious and the building set on fire. I was so sure she find an escape and leave me behind. But I was wrong. She rescued me.

On that very same day, she was found by the men who killed my boss and was brought here. A place where they hate teenagers who are sentenced to jail. They hate them so much that it pleases them to see them die. They take them to an old cabing with antiques or junk in the basement. To the criminals, they are said antiques, junks, and broken toys. But to the ones who run this fucking place, they summon an entity. They pick how to die and from what."

"So... We were brought here just to die?" Rat asked.

"That's what I said. And I promise you. I will help you find a way out."

The boss paced around his office with the new worker. Two security officers entered the room. "Sir, it wasn't easy, but we killed all the monsters and creatures from the Jailhouse."

"All of them?" The boss asked.

"Well, one is missing. The new monster."

"Find her and bring her down. And I want the human who fucked us all up here so I can kill him!" The two officers nodded and left.

"No!" The newbie shouted. "I won't have you kill an innocent soul."

"What was that?" The boss asked,

"I said I won't let you do it!" He removed his lab coat and shoved into the boss's face. "I fucking quit! And I don't care if I was hired today!" The boss pulled out a gun and shot him point blank in in the head.

"Don't fucking talk like that to me!" He yelled. "I'm going to find that fucking guy and kill him myself!" He screamed. He left the office and ran down the hall, passing by several dead humans and creatures. The Werewolf groaned in pain. "Fuck you!" The boss yelled as he shot it in the head. He stopped when he heard gunfire and screaming. "Found him" he said happily to himself. He followed the noise.

Upstairs, Flutterbat had tackled down a security guard and was viciously tearing him apart. Not far from her, Klaus, Rat, and I gunned down fleeing workers, scientists, and security guards. "Think you can kill us?!" Klaus asked. I turned my head and saw the boss approaching us. I gasped and pulled Flutterbat away. Klaus turned his head and saw the boss raise his gun. "Cale!" He screamed. He jumped in the way as the boss pulled the trigger. The bullet struck Klaus in the head.

"No!" Rat screamed.

"Shut up!" The boss screamed as he planted a bullet into his chest. He reloaded his gun. "Do you fucking know what you did?!" He screamed. "My career! Ruined! My career! To eliminate the world of sinners! I spent my whole life researching creatures of the supernatural, and I found it! It cost me almost my whole life to pray to the Ancient Ones to grant me just a small army of nightmares! Just a small amount! And I finally had them! And then you... Fucking came along and butchered the whole thing! I was close to seeing the teens slaughtered but you killed them and now you're helping them escape!!!" I turned my head and saw Rat leaning against the wall, gasping. "Now..." He started chuckling manically. "I have you where I want you... And I'm going to end your life in front of this creature's eyes and I'll kill her next. And nothing will stop me!" He pulled the trigger and shot me in the heart. Fluttershy looked at me confused.

"I know right?" I asked. I leaned forward to her, "The perks of being an Equestrian. You can't die anywhere else." The boss gasped.

"What?" He asked. He shot me again, but nothing happened. He even tried shooting Flutterbat. He ran out of bullets but we remained alive. "What the fuck is this?!" He screamed.

"Funny" I said as I stood up. "You wanted to rid of sinners when you're a sinner yourself. Putting juveniles in this kind of hell?" That's just plain sinful.

"You fucking stay away from me..." The boss said as he staggered back. I pulled out my handgun and shot him in the legs.

"No... You fucking stay put!" I shouted over his screams. "You see, I'm a man like yourself. I have the urge to eliminate sinners, but unlike you... I have the patience to wait to see if they are sorry for their past. But seeing that these criminals happen to be sorry, and you kill them anyway, well... That just puts you on my kill list. "Flutterbat? Hold him down. I'm going to enjoy this."

Flutterbat jumped on the boss and as always, she buried the claws on her hands into his shoulder blades and her clawed feet dug into his chest. The boss screamed in pain as I approached him. "Now where was I?" I asked myself. "Oh yes... I remember." I put the gun on safety.

I shot him in the head. I switched the safety back on once more and ran over to Rat, leaving Flutterbat to drink as much blood as she wants. I cradled the 15 year old boy. "Cale..." He said weakly.

"I'm getting you out of here" I said. "I'll get you to a hospital, you will be healed, and I can take you far away from here." I pressed down gently on his wound.

"No Cale... That won't be necessary" he said. "I'm not going to make it."

"Sure you will" I said. Rat held my hand.

"Cale... I want to tell you something."

"What is it?" I asked.

"I want to go home. I want to tell my family that I'm sorry for committing crime and ending up in jail. I want my mom..." He sounded like a bullied child right now. "Cale, I want to see my mom..."

"Ok" I said, knowing that this is a promise I can't keep. Rat closed his eyes and exhaled his last breath. I turned my head and saw Flutterbat standing over us, her hands folded together as if she's hoping Rat is all right. I shook my head sadly. While she cried softly, I gently laid Rat on the floor, and crossed his arms. I did the sign of the cross.

"A shepherd I shall be...." As I prayed, I felt tears coming down my face.

When I was done, I turned to Flutterbat and held her hand. "Ready to head back?" I asked. Flutterbat nodded and held me tight. I glanced down and Rat and Klaus and sighed. I was so looking forward to get them out. I had failed them. I closed my eyes and took a breath. "Equestria" I said quietly. A flash of light engulfed the both of us and transported out of the hellhole and back to our world. Our real world. One that we call 'Home'.
