One Day Like This

An Unexpected Guest

I opened the door to nearly break it when I saw her eccentric blue hair, poking out like a knife as usual. I was nervous. I never would have expected to see the girl of my dreams be at my doorstep, asking to come in. I didn't know what to do. I did all I could and invited her in.

Woah. How'd I do that. Whatever, just make conversation.

"Wow, I wasn't expecting this. My name's Scribbler, nice to meet you Ms. Scratch." Awkward as usual, good job me.

"Yeah, I know. I'm a fan of your work. I was wondering if I could get an autograph." She had a blush when she said this. I couldn't help myself to blush either, my favorite musician was a fan of my art. This set off something and caused me to faint on the site.

I awoke several hours later to see the magical Vinyl still there. She was reading my book on the history of Video games. Of course though, being the socially awkward freak I am, I was left speechless. All that came out of my mouth were stutters and murmurs. I managed to say the words, "H-h-how?"

"Oh you know, the internet. I was wondering if you could draw me, so I could brag to my friends." To think that the only viewers of my work was Vinyl and her friends. I couldn't help but enthusiastically nod. I couldn't contain my emotions. I immediately sprang up and ran to my room to get my supplies. This was the first time I've ever drawn somepony else in person. I was honored for it to be Vinyl Scratch too. I came back to see her rocking her normal pose, headphones on, headbanging. I managed after several hours and multiple screw-ups, I drew a motion picture by drawing the head three times with lines to show movement. I didn't want to put color, I felt as if pencil was enough. I put my Cutie Mark in the corner and handed it to her. A big smile lit up her face and she screamed. It showed that she was happy. Hell, she was more than happy, she was enthused. She handed me 50 bits, but I turned it down. I was pleased enough that Vinyl wanted me to draw her.

"This is wub-tacular!" she exclaimed with a certain kind of joy in her mouth. One kind of joy that couldn't be replicated by any other pony.

"It's not my best work, but I do like it." Stop being awkward, seriously. Just because she's your favorite pony doesn't mean you get to be nervous.

"Well, I give it the 'Vinyl Seal of Approval'"

This alone set me off again. I was crazy for Vinyl. I loved all of her work and now, that I can comprehend the situation like the little dumb-nut that I am, she loves mine. Of course though, I said the dumbest thing in my entire life, something that I knew wouldn't work. It was still worth a shot though.

"Would you like something to eat or drink, maybe we can hang out?" I was expecting her to be creeped out. I was expecting just about anything but "Yes." Of course though, that's what she said. I grabbed her a soda from down the street. I felt as if she could stay in my house for a second alone. After I handed it to her we sat and talked, and talked, and talked. We talked until midnight. That's when the most unexpected thing happened.

"Would it be alright if I crashed with you. Just for tonight?" Vinyl said this like she just wanted to sleep here, not like she couldn't go home. I took some thinking time and opened the couch bed to prepare it for her. I grabbed the guest sheets to turn around and just happen to notice her flank, oh so round and perfect. I couldn't help but take a good mental picture and let my imagination go wild. I brought her the sheets and made her bed. As she lay down to rest, she said to me, "I was curious if you wanted to get some cake tomorrow at noon?"

I turned to her to give my simple three word response, "Yes, goodnight, Vinyl."

I couldn't sleep that night knowing that she was just beneath me, oh well, I need to sleep, I have places to go tomorrow.
