Princess Butterscotch

Chapter 3

Bulky reads over the paper, switching his gaze towards the downtrodden pegasus and paper. He finishes the article and in the cottage, breaks the silence with his hearty laughter.

"Thirty mares," he laughed, while Butterscotch groans from his booming laughter. Bulky reels in his merriment, smirking at the pegasus, "I don't know why your so mopey over this."

"If you must know," Butterscotch said, gritting his teeth, "it was twenty mares...with some griffins and Diamond dogs."

Bulky continues to laugh, as Butterscotch waited for him to stop.

"No bucking way..." Bulky stops mid sentence, falling into another chorus of laughter.

"You done!" Butterscotch ask, as the white pegasus wipes a tear away.

"Yup!"

"Good," the yellow pegasus sighs, looking at the article on the table, "how many mares have seen this."

"Just about all of them," Bulky responded, taking a sip of his tea, "At least they have your picture wrong."

Butterscotch looks at the rendition, a far cry from the meek stallion, "Thank the Goddess that these mare's have such an imagination."

"Oh yeah!" Bulky agreed, "cause if it were you...well, you wouldn't have gotten off the train."

Butterscotch continues to mope as a little bunny hoops in to his vision, "So...anything new in town."

"Other than the stampede," Bulky ponders mulling it over, "well...we're going to have a celebration for Applejack saving the town in a few days."

"So I've heard," Butterscotch mumbles, snacking on a cookie, "...What about Mac?"

"His doing fine," Bulky said, looking out the window towards the apple orchard, "though he'll be out for the season."

Butterscotch looks into his cup the steam rising from the fine china, "I think I'll go help out."

"You sure," Bulky asked, raises an eyebrow in the process, "don't you have work to do?"

Butterscotch shakes his head, "the baby bunnies aren't ready to come out yet...and the only thing I need to do today is put out the food later."

Bulky snorts at his energetic friend, "I'll never understand how you have so much energy...especially rutting thir...twenty mares with some griffins, and d-dogs."

"Oh! it wasn't to hard," Butterscotch smirks, "Half of them where in heat...so it was like ten minutes tops with them."

Bulky just shakes his head, as the two continue with their brunch.

Butterscotch landed in front of a red door, and knocks on the dutch door. The top half opens revealing a giant stallion, his emerald eyes staring down at the yellow pegasus.

"Afternoon Big Macintosh," Butterscotch greets the red stallion.

Mac smiles at the pegasus, "Good ta see you Scotch."

"You to..." Butterscotch pauses looking around.

Big Mac laughs, his drawl thick like his sister, "don't worry...Blooms at school, granny's sleeping and Applejack...well she's been busy apple bucking since morning."

Butterscotch sighs in relief, "thanks...don't know if I could handle Granny Smith today."

Big Mac snickers, lifting a certain newspaper, "Been busy eh!"

"Don't you start too," Butterscotch glares at the pony, "especially since I'm here to help."

Mac raises an eyebrow from his statement, "Help...Help with what?"

"With bucking apples," Butterscotch said quickly adding, "for apple bucking season!"

Mac snickers at the pegasus's discomfort, "relax Scotch...I trust ya enough not ta break ma sister's heart."

Butterscotch glares at the stallion, but he wasn't done speaking, "Don't give me that...ya may have most of the town fooled, but ya never had Granny dun in."

"Don't remind me," Butterscotch groaned.

"I wouldn't have ta," Mac said, smirking at the pegasus, "if ya just buck ma sister...then I wouldn't have ta deal with her clopping ta ya every morning."

Butterscotch winches, as Mac continues, "not to mention Granny's approved of ya."

"Really?" Butterscotch said, blushing at the statement.

"Yup," Big Mac puts his hand on the pegasus's shoulder, "sorry...but just a warning...ya gonna get bucked sooner or later."

Butterscotch glares at the stallion, but sighs in contempt, "so...you need my help or what?"

"Don't know if ya could do anything for ma back," Mac looks toward the orchard the sounds of smashing wood was carried by the wind, "though if ya can get past ma stubborn sister...then ya might be able to help out."

Butterscotch raises his eyebrow, "what happened this time?"

"Applejack being stubborn is all." Mac answered, shifting his sights back to Butterscotch.

"I see," Walking backwards Butterscotch lifted his wings, "wish me luck."

"Luck," Mac laughed, "ya'll be needing more than luck with ma sister."

Butterscotch launches into the air, heading towards the sound of cracking wood.

A orange mare hauls bushels of apples, her plaid shirt drenched with sweat. The brown stetson, beaten and worn through the years was adorned atop her blonde mane, lowered to block the rays of the sun.

"Hey Applejack," Butterscotch greets from above. The mare turns towards the sound of the voice, the pegasus landing next to her.

"Well howdy," Applejack drawled, "what brings ya out here?"

"Heard Mac got injured," Butterscotch said, looking around the surplus of empty baskets and fruit filled trees.

"Really now," Applejacks voice, drew the stallions attention back to the glaring mare, "Well like I told Mac ah can do this on ma own!"

She stomps towards the cart laden with apples, placing her haul in the cart.

Butterscotch shakes his head mumbling, "your still stubborn as ever."

He turns to the empty basket, taking a few and flying towards a part of the orchard.

Years Ago:

"Well...at least the roofs not leaking," Butterscotch wonders around his new home, the storm outside pelting any unlucky pony to wonder the streets.

"I don't get it," a white bunny bounces around the empty living room, "With the money you make...why'd you get this dump?"

"It's simple Angel," Butterscotch said, unfurling his bedroll, "hardly anypony comes out here...and the less ponies..."

"The less likely you'll get found out," Angel chided, sitting next to the resting stallion.

Butterscotch nods and looks at the white bunny, "Atleast I won't have to deal with mares stalking me."

"Tell me about," Angel plopped on his chest, "still can't believe she hid in that cake!"

Butterscotch laughed, "though the look on Stools face was priceless."

Angel joins in on the laughter, the two's merry moment drowned out by the sound of thunder.

"So," Angel began, "what are we going to do about money."

"I'll see what's in the paper tommorrow." Butterscotch closes his eyes.

"Still don't understand why you can't just use your savings," Angel curls up on his chest.

"Like I told you," Butterscotch yawns, "we gotta wait till the heat dies down."

"Yeah...but can't you just put some in a another bank account?"

"Tried it...but those mares tried to get me at the bank," Butterscotch mumbled.

"Darn," Angel yawned, "we could have used that money to get some furniture."

The two ended their conversation as they enter a deep slumber, ready for tomorrows endeavors.

The stallion wonders the streets passing by stores, with a newspaper in hand and hired ads crossed out.

"That's about the last one," he groans finding a seat on a bench, glaring at the recently crossed out ad, "can't believe she thought I was a mare."

The encounter with the white unicorn left a bad taste in his mouth. The odd amount of dresses he was to wear spoke volumes against his masculinity.

"Then again," he moves his hand across his long pink mane, "Really need to get a cut soon."

He looks through the paper once more, noticing the tiny ad on the bottom corner. A job for a farmhand was listed, and a smile forms on his muzzle. "Here's to not burning through my cash."

Asking around he finds the directions of the farm. He takes off, his wings propelling him towards his destination at an alarming rate.

Walking around the red house, he wonders around looking for a pony to talk to. He hears voices coming from the barn, and walking towards the sound of voices he spots a group of ponies.

A mix of stallions and mares gather in front of a massive red stallion. Butterscotch joins the group of ponies, tip hoofing just to see above the crowd.

"I hear ya all!" the red stallion shouted over the crowd, "we're trying our best ta get as much apples harvested before the season ends!"

"But we needed those apples two days ago," a pony from the crowd shot back, more joining in the chorus of angered complaints.

"I understand!" The straw blonde giant yelled, "We'll get yer apples as soon as we can...until then you'll all have ta wait just a bit more!"

A collective groan rang through the crowd, each one turning and dispersing. Some cursing the red stallion of the lack of apples.

As the crowd dispersed, Butterscotch walks up to the sighing pony, "Um...excuse me."

The stallion glares at the yellow pony, causing him to flinch, "Look...like ah told everypony else we don't got them apples harvested yet."

Butterscotch winches from his booming voice, "Actually...I'm not here for that."

He shows the ad to the stallion, and he blinks seeing his own ad. A smile slowly forming on his muzzle, "haha. Sorry bout that...just that them ponies keep coming up here for apples that we don't have."

Butterscotch looks at the many apple filled trees, "We'll it looks like you have plenty of apples."

"That we do," the pony walks up to Butterscotch, "but it don't mean much if we can't harvest them...names Big Macintosh by the way."

He extends his hand to the butter yellow pony, Butterscotch meets his massive hand, "Nice meeting you Mr. Macintosh...names Butterscotch."

"Ya can drop the Mr," mac laughs, "Just call me Mac or Big Mac...that's what most ponies call me."

"It's a pleasure meeting you then...Big mac," Butterscotch smiles, flexing his hand from the bone crushing grip of the pony.

"So your here for the job," Mac said, looking over the pegasus, "have ya doe any farm work before?"

"No...but I have done my fare share of heavy lifting," Butterscotch responded, while Mac analyzed every word before smiling.

"Then I hope you can handle baskets of apples," Mac motioned him to follow, "though I'll be honest with ya...I won't be able to pay you till I get ma shipments filled."

Butterscotch pauses for a brief moment, "Then if it's fine with you...the sooner I can start the faster you'll be able fill your orders."

Mac laughs at his statement, "a real go getter ain't ya...maybe ya'll be more of help than the other one."

His tone grew dark at the end causing Butterscotch to shiver. He leads him to the grove were empty basket sat next to a cart half filled with apples. The red stallion picks up a few empty baskets, Butterscotch doing the same.

Walking up to a tree laden with apples, Mac places them around the trunk lecturing the pegasus on apple bucking, "Now all ya gots ta do is give this here tree a simple buck."

Turning around his leg slams into the tree, the apples falling into the basket. Though what really surprised the pegasus was how the tree had no signs of damage.

"Think ya can do that," Mac asked turning his attention back to the pony.

Butterscotch walks up to the tree observing the spot where his hoof met, "don't know if I can...without damaging your tree that is."

Mac chuckles at the pegasus's observation, "not to many ponies notice how hard it is ta buck a tree without killing it...here I got a couple of trees ya can practice on."

Mac leads him down further into the grove towards much older and bigger trees. Their branches holding a minuscule offering.

"Ya can go ahead and try bucking these trees...till ya get yer bearings set."

"You sure about that," Butterscotch asked, looking at the ancient grove.

"Yup," Mac nodded, "Were gonna clear this here trees in spring...their past their prime already."

Mac turns around heading back to the grove, "Once ya gather all them apples bring them to the barn...if I ain't there just drop it next ta the door and come find me in the orchard."

"Will do," Butterscotch responded to the fleeting pony. Looking at the trees, he went to work not wanting to disappoint his new employer.

Thirty minutes pass and Butterscotch had three of the five baskets filled. The trees he buck, had varying degrees of indentations and splintered wood.

"Dammit," he curses as the apples fell but the tree had signs of damage, "There has to be an easier way of doing this."

A wind blows through the grove, as Butterscotch basked in the cool breeze. Looking up he notices an apple swaying in the wind, causing a smile to form on his muzzle.

Flying into the top branches of the tree, he held onto the branches. Using his mighty wings he propels himself back and forth causing the apples to fall into the baskets.

"I did it!" He shouted, flying down to observe his work, "at least I didn't damage the trees this time."

He repeated the same technique till the baskets were filled and the trees bare of fruit. Flying to the barn he left the baskets where Mac wanted them, then headed to the sound of trees being bucked.

Spotting the cart he grabs a few baskets, and heads to the shaking trees. He sees a pony, masked by the suns rays bucking a tree.

"Hey Mac," Butterscotch's angelic voice rang through the grove. The pony stop,s looking at the incoming stallion yelling, "I got the apples done!"

Coming closer he was met with an orange mare, her emerald eyes staring past her blonde mane at the incoming stallion. Butterscotch pauses seeing that this pony wasn't his boss.

Before he could ask the young mare steps forward confronting him, "Now who the hay are you...Ma'am.!"

There was venom her words, but the butter yellow pony was to shocked to answer back. Luckily Mac was close by to explain things to the mare.

"She's the new helper...Applejack," Mac said as he lifted two baskets of apples.

Applejack looks Butterscotch over, "I hope ya can pull yer own weight...cause we don't hire no slackers."

She grabs her baskets heading towards the cart. Butterscotch turns his attention to the red stallion, "You know I'm a guy, right?"

Big Mac looks him over saying, "you could ah fooled me."

Butterscotch ignores the smirking stallion, and asked, "So...where do I start?"

"Just pick ah tree," Mac said turning to return to his work, stopping just a moment to warn the pegasus, "ah bit of advice...try ta avoid ma sister, she's not too fond of ponies helping out."

The stallion disappears into the grove, Butterscotch takes his warning and heads deeper into the orchard.

Butterscotch sets up baskets around many of the fruit bearing trees. Flying from one tree to another he shakes the limbs causing the bountiful fruit to fall. Hauling the filled basket to the barn quickened the process without increasing the work load on the other two.

He dumps the fruit into the large bins in the barn, which will be later processed for sale or juiced in the upcoming cider season. Much of which he gathered from Mac, though the orange mare proved to be little of a conversationalist.

Even during lunch she ate her meal with gusto, leaving a Butterscotch to watch an empty seat as she went back to the orchard. Though the old mare and filly proved to be an interesting conversation.

Arriving at the barn with the last basket, he sees Mac in front of the he overfilled bins.

He whistles as the pegasus lands next him, "Can't believe we got this weeks quota filled."

He turns to the pegasus, giving the smaller pony a pat on the shoulder, "thanks ta you Scotch, we'll be able ta fill our customers orders."

"Th-thanks...I guess," Butterscotch said rubbing his shoulder from the calloused hands.

"How about joining us fer dinner," Mac picks up his basket, dumping it's contents into a cart.

"I ah...I don't know if I should impose," Butterscotch began.

"Nonsense," Mac cut in, "besides...I don't think yer stomach would like to miss out on Granny's pie."

Butterscotch's stomach gurgled in response, a blush as red as Mac's coat spread across his face.

"Th-thank's for the offer then," Butterscotch said, looking himself over, "though I might need to clean up first."

"We got a shower in the house," Mac said heading towards the red house, Butterscotch trailing behind him, "I'll lend ya some clean clothes."

"Thanks," Butterscotch said, following the stallion. These ponies are really nice.

Entering the shower room, Butterscotch laid his clothes in a pile on the counter. Stepping into the cold torrent, he shivers under the cold spray. His wings extended enough to let the dirt and grime wash away. Soon the cold downpour ends bringing forth a warm wave of water.

A few more minutes pass with the shower ending, as Butterscotch towels off. The white cloth gently moved\ing across his frame. His wings shook sending the leftover water hurtling into the tiled walls and plastic curtain.

A towel draped over his waist as he stepped out into the steam covered room. The door slowly opens revealing the old mare he met earlier. She stares at the half naked stallion, his toned frame detailed by his damp coat

"Coulda sworn ya was a mare," Granny said eyeballing the pegasus, "Just let me get ya something other than these mare clothes."

She turns around and heads down the hall, leaving a mumbling pegasus, "Could have sworn I locked that door."

Not soon after the door opens again, turning around Butterscotch is confronted with the tiny filly. She rushes behind him, using his pink tail as cover while a furious flour covered Applejack stands in front of the door.

She stops gawking at the half naked stallion, she quickly turns around shouting, "Don't ya know how to close a door!"

"I did...but somehow everyone seems to be able to open it." He said, scratching the back of his head.

"Wa ya mean..." She turns around peeking at the pony, but pauses seeing the yellow and red maned filly peeking from the side, "Applebloom!"

Her shout startles the filly, causing her to fall back while holding onto towel, pulling it off in the process. Butterscotch uses his wings to catch the filly as the orange mare stares at his fully exposed crotch.

"You okay their little filly," Butterscotch said, his voice was gently and full of warmth. Applebloom nods her orange eyes staring up to her savior.

"This clothes might be a bit big for ya," the old mare returns, pausing to look between her grand daughter and the naked stallion. She follows her gaze towards the stallions, "Huh, that's one mighty piece yah got there."

She walks in leaving the clothes on the counter, the little filly following the old mare.

"Close yer mouth dear," She says, as her lime green hand pushes the orange mare's muzzle shut, "ya'll get flies in them if ya don't."

Granny Smith walks down the stairs with Applebloom in tow. Butterscotch looks at the orange mare slowly making his way to the door and closed it.

Present:

"Like I told ya!" Applejack yelled at the flying pony, "Ah don't need help!"

Butterscotch heads to the barn dumping the basket's contents into the bins and heads back for more. The orange mare continued to stare daggers into his back.

He continues to gather apples, ignoring her for dear life.

The day goes by, and with the help of the butter yellow pegasus the two were able to fill their quota for the day.

"Phew. Glad we got that done," Applejack said smiling at their achievement, but it soon turned to a frown, "like ah told Mac ah could ave done this with out ya help!"

"Nope," Mac said limping towards the two ponies.

"Don't ya start Mac," Applejack pokes her finger into his chest, "ah bet ya put him up to it...just ta prove me wrong!"

Mac shakes his head answering with one of his iconic phrases, "Nope."

Applejack grumbles, walking past the Mac, not before giving him a slight slap to his back. Mac winches glaring at the fleeting mare.

"At least she's getting better," Butterscotch said, helping Mac up.

"Ya say that...but ma back begs ta differ," Mac grumbles looking down at the pink haired pony, "so...ya gonna stay fer dinner?"

"Don't know if I should," Butterscotch mulls it over, asking, "is Granny going to drug me again."

"Ah don't think so," Mac said, rubbing the bottom of his muzzle, "she didn't make any of her special pie...so there's no way ya'll end up sleeping with AJ."

"If you say so...then I guess I'll be joining you for dinner."

The two head towards the house Butterscotch asking the simplest question, "are my clothes still here?"

"Eyup!" Mac responded adding, "AJ's still got em in her room."

"I hope so," Butterscotch said then mumbles, "those were my favorite pair of briefs."

Mac smirks hearing the pegasus's silent plight.

The rooster crows as the sun creeps over the horizon. Butterscotch slowly stirring from the land of dreams. He lets out a mighty yawn, feeling movement next to him.

"Morning sugercube," Applejack mumbles, the sheets shifting as she hugs the stallion.

Butterscotch's eyes shot open, looking at the mare nuzzling against him. He looks around noticing that this was not his home. He turns his head staring at the sleeping face of the mare. Trying to move proved futile as the mare hold tighten like a finger trap.

He sighs in defeat, and continues to stare at the ceiling, while he hears the erotic confessions of the mare.

"Butterscotch," She repeats for the twentieth time along with many odd request involving apple pie.

The rooster lets out a loud crow, this time Applejack slowly awakens from the world of dreams. She blinks staring into teal eyes.

"Good morning," Butterscotch greets smiling, as Applejack's eyes shrank. She pushes off his chest forcing the baby blue blanket off the pair.

Being free of her constraints did nothing for Butterscotch, as blood flowed from his face to a much lower region. The light of the sun played over the naked form of the mare.

Applejacks eyes moved away from his, a mistake as her gaze fell onto his erection. A blush forms on her face, her humiliation was further increased by her brother's sudden presence.

"Ya might wanna start heading out or..." Mac stops staring at the naked form of his sister and the morning wood basking in the rays of the sun. "Ah'll let ya two get this settled on yer own."

Mac closes the door letting the two compose themselves. Butterscotch avoids looking at the mare, and she does the same.

"I'll get dressed first," Butterscotch said, spotting his favorite pair of briefs.

Applejack wraps the blanket around her, all the while watching the lean pony dress. Clothes adorned he slips out the door, red covering his entire muzzle.

Out in the hallway Butterscotch leans against the door sighing, his eyes staring at the floor.

"So watcha think," Butterscotch looks up seeing the orange eyes of the lime green mare.

"Why?" Butterscotch asked, shaking his head as Granny places a hand on his shoulder.

"Come now," She said, pulling him into a hug, "you and ah both know how Applejack loves ya...ah just had ta do ma best in getting ya to accept it."

"By drugging me," Butterscotch whispered, with anger in his voice.

"Trust me," Granny said breaking the hug, "it was either that...or have yah tied up and locked in a room with ma granddaughter in heat."

"Point taken," Butterscotch said, rubbing the back of his head.

"Besides," Granny began wobbling towards the stairs, "if ya pick Applejack...yah might stand ah chance avoiding them mares."

"What are you..." Butterscotch stops, watching the mare slightly turn around, her grin causing him to shiver.

"Yah can't fool me sonny," Granny smiled, "and if yah can't fool ole granny...sooner or later this towns gonna wizen up."

She grabs hold of the side rail making her way down, with her voice echoing around the hallway, "and trust me, yer already a target fer most of the town."

Her statement sent shivers down his spine. Taking a few minutes to compose himself, he heads down the stairs.

Arriving home in the late afternoon, he was greeted by the site of the animals busily cleaning the cottage. All the while a white bunny directing the various groups.

"Wow. the house looks amazing," Butterscotch said aloud, the younger creatures frolicking around the pony all wanting to play with him. "Give me a minute you guys...let me get some water and well go play."

The animals cheered letting the pegasus continue with his objective.

"I thought you'd be home last night." Angel said as the pony walked up to him.

"Blame Granny." Butterscotch sighed.

"Poison pie again?" Angel asked, motioning for the animals to take finish up.

"Yup," Butterscotch said heading towards the kitchen, "but the worst part...well let's just say that Mac, AJ and I were all knocked out by the pie."

"All you...what about Applebloom?"

"She was in bed by the time, the drug kicked in," Butterscotch fills a glass and quickly drains it of it's contents, "which raises the question. How an old mare was able to strip a grown stallion and mare...and put them in the same bed...upstairs."

The bunny whistles in astonishment, "I wonder what she would have been like when she was younger."

"Don't know and honestly...I never want to find out," Butterscotch lays the cup on the counter. Checkin the pantry, "Looks like I'll have to go and buy some more feed."

"Sorry about that," Angel said, breaking up an argument with a mouse an ferret, "some of the young ones hit their growth spurt and started eating what ever they can."

"Can't really blame you guys then," Butterscotch, writes down what he'll need to buy later. "Oh. Before I forget, I'll be heading back to the farm tomorrow."

"Again?" Angel raises an eyebrow, as the stallion nods.

"Can't be helped," Butterscotch wonders to the back door, "with Mac on the sidelines it's just AJ out there...and besides I'll be able to get some cider and a bushel of apples for you guys."

"Sweet!" Angel leapt in joy, but returned to a more serious nature, "though don't forget to take the senses for the new bunnies."

"I won't...Though I hope the little fellers won't cause to much trouble."

Butterscotch heads out to the garden the animals gather around him. Some came with a greeting and younger ones wanting to play, and play they did.
