Princess Butterscotch

Chapter 5

"Good morning!" Gilda yawned, walking into the bustling kitchen.

"Morning yourself gorgeous," Butterscotch responded, as the griffin rolled her eyes with a blush. Butterscotch heads to the table with breakfast in hand, animals gathering around his hooves.

Gilda stares at the hearty platter licking her beak, "that looks amazing."

Butterscotch chuckles handing her the bottle of syrup. The two ate the golden brown pancakes, letting the scurrying of animals become a backdrop to their meal.

"So...any plans for the day," Butterscotch asked in between bites.

Gilda looks at the pile of pancakes brows furrowed in thought, "I do have to get my bag from Dash's place."

Butterscotch stares at the apprehensive griffin saying, "i can go with you if you want."

Gilda blinks in surprise, "you...you sure?"

"It's not that big of a deal," he said, slicing his pancake to bite size pieces, "though..."

"Though...what?" Gilda looked on with a raised eyebrow.

"You...kinda have to promise me something," Butterscotch sheepishly looks away.

"And that is?" She twirls her talon in for more confirmation.

"You kinda need to...not mention what we did last night," Butterscotch said, but quickly added from the angry look the griffin gave, "I don't want to get raped."

The animals stopped to look at the pair, a white bunny shaking his head.

"What," Gilda blinked in confusion, "What do you mean you don't want to get raped?"

"You heard me," Butterscotch said, playing with his food, "I like sex and all...but these mares."

He points towards the town, "they don't know how to control themselves."

Gilda blinks, her brown eyelids covering her golden orbs, "what?"

"Like I said," he takes a sip of his drink and adds, "they're not easy to deal with...when you got group having p.h.s at the same time."

"They can't be that bad," Gilda said, but his glare sent shivers down her spine.

"I don't think you quite understand," he looks at the soggy piece of dough. The syrup thoroughly coating the slice of pancake, "the ratio here is almost ten to one."

"No...way," Gilda gasped, "how...why...there's just no way."

"That's what I said when I moved here," Butterscotch said, finishing the last bit of pancake.

"Your kidding...right?" Gilda asked.

"Fraid not," Butterscotch stands taking the plates to the sink, "almost shat myself when I found out."

Butterscotch started to chuckle but returned to a serious demeanor , "But seriously...please keep what happened yesterday a secret."

"Again...why?" Gilda questioned watching him wash the dishes.

"It's simple," Butterscotch began, "they think I'm a boring pony that only hangs out with animals,"

"That's it," the griffin asked looking at the many playful creatures.

"No...they also think I'm gay," Butterscotch said smiling, as the griffin choked on her juice.

"No way," she coughed, "how'd you even you do that?"

"That's simple," Butterscotch turns around facing his guest, "don't sleep with them."

She blinks in confusion, "that's it?"

"That...and spread a little rumor hear and there," Butterscotch said, drying the dish, "works wonders with small towns."

"Your kidding...I mean," Gilda stares at her plate, "why bother hiding it?"

Butterscotch blinks staring at the griffin, "well...I don't know how say this without sounding like an ass."

Gilda looks at the pony, his hand scratching the back of his head. He looks at the ceiling, "but honestly...it's peaceful here...and the last thing I need is a bunch of mares hitting their period and trying to have their way with me."

"And before you ask," He said looking at the growing confusion of feathers, "I'm one of the top stallions in town."

Gilda tilts her head but returns his statement with one of her own, "cocky much."

"What?" Butterscotch asked confused from her statement.

"You heard me," Gilda places her utensils on the empty plate, "I mean...why try to hide that your a fun dude."

Gilda stood up heading towards the sink, "it's not like it's going to kill you...and you get to have sex with mares..."

"Five," Butterscotch cut in as Gilda looked on in confusion. "We had five cases of crushed pelvises last week."

Gilda nearly drops her plate flabbergasted at the facts, "What!"

Butterscotch nods, "Each year we have stallions getting raped by a gang of mares all hitting their period...at the same time and left limping to the hospital."

"Bu-but...how do you even," Gilda pauses thinking of a proper question, "if that's the case...what does this have to do with you being...gay."

Butterscotch smiles, "It's simple...with very few stallions these mares would never know how to deal with a colt cuddlier."

Butterscotch moves to the side letting her wash the plate as he continued, "at first I thought it wouldn't work...but when one of them cornered me...let's just say...after an hour she gave up trying to get me hard."

Gilda blinks in astonishment, as the stallion sighed, "Even gave me a tail job."

"What happened afterwards," She asked, rinsing the soapy dish.

"Oh...she was devastated and on the verge of tears," Butterscotch said, twiddling his thumbs, "then I...I told her I was gay."

"You didn't," Gilda stood wide eyed, and slack beaked.

"Fraid so...it was either that or have her break out in tears from the humiliation," Butterscotch stares into her eyes, "It wasn't what she expected...but at least it stopped others from trying to do the same."

"Wow," Gilda said piling the cleaned dishes, "so...what about the mares at the party?"

The pony shrugs his shoulders, "they like to tease me...it's annoying but compared to what they did to Turner...it's the least of my concerns."

The two sat down staring at the clock and various animals.

"So," Gilda began, "What now?"

"Well...I already finished my chores," Butterscotch taps the table in thought, "and Dash doesn't get up for another hour."

"Your kidding," Gilda said blinking at the new information, "she still sleeps in?"

"Yup," he responded tapping the table harder, "had to get her out of bed a few times to clear the skies."

Gilda shakes her head in aggravation, "how did she become the captain for the weather team?"

"She was the only candidate," Butterscotch sighed, looking at the window, "she thought it would be a cinch...but forgot the amount of paper work she has to do."

The griffin started to chuckle, "Brash Dash strikes again."

"Brash Dash," Butterscotch said, raising an eyebrow at the griffin. "Do I even want to know how she earned that?"

"It's a really long story," Gilda said, looking out the window at the blue skies.

"We have time...she's off today."

The griffin smirks, regaling the tale of when she was a kid and friends with the prismatic mare.

Knocking on the door, the two stood on the pegasus's cloud home. Butterscotch increases the tempo of his fist meeting the door.

"I can just sneak in through the window," Gilda mumbled, watching the pony carve his fist on the door.

"I'd advise against doing that," The stallion mumbled, pausing from his assault, "the windows are to small for anyone to fit through...and the dense clouds have enchantments making them like a brick wall."

Gilda whistles in surprise, "no wonder why she leaves them open...you'd have to ram them at full speed."

"Yup...didn't help when she loses her keys and tries to get in by bucking a wall."

"Your kidding...doesn't it cost money to enchant these," Gilda points at the pillars and rainbow flowing waterfalls.

"It does...but I believe you already know who her father is," Butterscotch said, his fist turning red.

"With that mane...you'd have to be an idiot not to," Gilda replied, leaning against the pillar of rock hard cloud.

"I give up," The stallion raises his hands in frustration.

"Want me to try," Gilda asked cracking her talons.

"No...I got this," Butterscotch moves his wings to the door. The very tips shoved into the lock, with a slight turn a click was heard.

Gilda stood slack beaked, following after the pony, "How'd you do that?"

"Old trick I learned from a friend," Butterscotch looks around the pristine home, "now...where's your bag?"

"Should be upstairs...still can't believe she has stairs," Gilda said looking at the staircase.

The pony flies to the top, looking back at the griffin, "Coming?"

Gilda spreads her wings following after the pony. They go down the darkened halls, their paws and hooves absorbed by the enchanted carpet.

"Still can't believe she bought this," Gilda spreads her toes on the soft carpet, "it's like velvet."

"Well don't get to comfortable," Butterscotch whispered, hearing sounds coming from down the hall, "we better hurry...really don't want to deal with a pissed off Rainbow."

Gilda nods, squeezing her toes one last time on the carpet. They find the guest room and her bag still intact. Grabbing the lumpy sack they quickly made their way out.

As they fly towards the stallions home Gilda asked the question nagging at her, "How exactly do you know how to do this stuff?"

"What do you mean?"

They land on a cloud resting from the sudden misdemeanor. Gilda turns to face the butter yellow pony, "so talk...how do you know this stuff...like lock picking a door with your feathers."

Butterscotch lays on the cloud, mulling it over. Staring at the griffin, "let's just say...I never had choice but to do so."

Gilda stares at the sadden stallion, she nods in acceptance not wanting to further bother him.

The two sat on the soft wet mass, letting the breeze blow them across the sky.

Butterscotch sits up, cracking his stiff neck, "let's head back...I'm getting hungry."

Gilda smirks at the pony, "didn't we just eat...like two hours ago."

"Yeah...but it's brunch," Butterscotch stood up, spreading his wings, "coming."

"Like I have any where else to go." Gilda replied following the fleeting pony.

Butterscotch wonders the market stalls Gilda wondering behind him.

"Um...Ms.Gilda are you...um sure...helping me is okay," Butterscotch said, his meek and shy act having him cower next to the griffin.

"It's fine," Gilda said trying to hold back her laughter at his sudden change. "you are letting me stay with you."

"Oh...okay," Butterscotch mumbles, as Gilda was ready keel over with laughter.

The two make their way around the market picking up food for themselves and animals. Gilda trying hardest from ruining his guise.

The two head to the local bakery, a certain pink mare eyeballing their approach.

"You sure," Butterscotch whispered, the mask on.

"As long as I don't get mouth bombed...then I'll be good," Gilda responded, keeping her gaze at the fast talking mare and line of ponies.

"I hope so..." Butterscotch mumbled, heading towards the counter he was greeted with a pink frosting maned mare, "good afternoon Mrs. Cake."

"Good to see out and about dear," Mrs. Cake said, keeping her sales persona on, "whose your friend?"

"Oh...her names Gi..."

A pink blur ends his statement as a pink blur wraps the stallion and griffin into a bone crushing hug yelling, "I'm so glad your okay I thought that when ran off that after those pranks you'd be angry and never comeback!"

Butterscotch relaxes his body against the strength of the mare, but the griffin was unlucky and struggled against the unbearable force.

"Um...Pinky dear," Mrs Cake cut in from the pink mare's sudden assault of word.

Pinky turns her head towards the blue mare, a wide smile spread across her face, "Yes!"

"I think you should let then go," Mrs. Cake said looking at the red faced griffin.

Pinky nods her head, rubbing in between the stallion chest and griffins breast, "Okie dokie Lokie."

Gilda gasped for breath as soon as the pink mare let go. She leans on the stallions shoulder for support.

"You okay Gilda," Butterscotch asked, helping her up.

"I'll be okay...I think," She said, winching as she rubbed her ribs.

"Whoopsie," Pinky said quickly vanishing and reappearing with a cupcake in hand, "here...an apology cupcake."

Gilda apprehensively looks at the baked pastry, even poking it with her yellow talon. Pinkie giggles saying, "don't worry...it's not spicy!"

The griffin grabs hold, taking a tentative bite of the pastry. A smile forms on her beak, as she pops the cupcake into her mouth.

"Mhmm," she was lost in a dreamy haze of pure sugary bliss.

Butterscotch giggles, turning towards the owner of the store, "can I have some cupcakes and doughnuts to go."

"Sure thing," Mrs. Cake said moving towards the display and retrieving the sweets. Goods exchanged with bits, Butterscotch leads the dreamy griffin out the door, with a promise to hang out with the pink maned menace.

"This is amazing," Gilda said, drool escaping as she munched on another cupcake.

Butterscotch chuckles, the two stroll down the road towards the cottage. The sun was it's peak, Gilda's munching mixing with the flow of the stream and whistling of the wind.

"Hm...what's that?" Butterscotch said, his ears directing towards the sound of rushing air.

"Hmm?" Gilda follows his gaze to a rainbow coming towards them.

"Giiillldaaa!!" The rainbow screamed as the sound of air splitting heading their way.

"Move!" Butterscotch yelled, running towards a ditch with basket pack in tow. The griffin nods and follows, crushing the sugary treats against her chest.

They take cover in the muddy crevice, only to watch a rainbow spectrum fly over their heads and the sound of an impact proceeded to shake the very ground. The two look up from their safe haven their clothes muddy.

They spot a crater just a few feet away, a cyan mare's rump sticking out from the pile. Butterscotch leaves the safe confines to check on the mare, while the griffin munched on the frosting less cupcakes.

"Um...you okay Dash." Butterscotch meekly said, walking to inspect the pony.

"Yeah..." Dash groaned, blinking away the flying rainbow rockets.

Butterscotch helps the sky blue mare, letting her lean against him. He inspects the mare for any further injury, finding none he reprimanded her, "what were you thinking."

"Wha..." Dash answered, looking dazed from his question. The stallion shakes his head, wrapping his arms around her waist.

"C'mon...let's get you to my place," he turns to the griffin, "can you hold on to the other side."

Gilda nods, a little hesitant but nonetheless helps the stallion with the downed mare. The party of three make their way towards the cottage of playful animals.

"So...care to explain," Butterscotch said, wrapping the mare's arm with an odd mixture of herbs and wrappings.

"I was just trying to talk to Gilda," Rainbow Dash grumbled, only to winch in pain from the sudden pressure of a bandage wrapped around the swelling arm. "Ouch!"

Butterscotch holds back a grin, continuing to observe the mare, "Looks like you'll be fine...just try not to overexert that arm of yours."

He turns to place back the med kit, but ever worried of the awkward silence between the griffin and mare.

"Soo," Dash began, only to watch the griffin munch on the last cupcake. "Look Gilda I..."

She stops seeing the griffins hand in her face. Gilda glares at the pony swallowing the last bits of the the sugary treat, "I forgive you Dash."

Rainbow's smiling face was shattered by what came next, "But...that doesn't mean we're cool anymore."

She crosses her, as the mare's face fell to utter disbelief. The mare stutters a response, "B-but what about us being friends!"

Butterscotch had to cover his ears from her sudden out burst. Gilda however was unfazed, "look...I told you already that I needed a place to...relax."

Gilda avoided staring at the stallion and continued, "you kinda broke it when you pulled that shit yesterday."

"But I'm really sorry," Dash said, at the verge of tears.

"I know you are...but I just need some space...okay." Gilda said, trying to keep a straight face in front of the saddened mare.

"I-I get ya," Dash sniffed, standing up from the table, "bu-but if wanna hang...you know where to find me."

She exits out through the back door tears slowly forming under her magenta eyes.

Butterscotch put's a hand on the griffins shoulder, "for what it's worth...thanks for giving her another chance."

"I never said that," Gilda turned to the pony, shock in her voice.

Butterscotch smiled turning away from the griffin, "you didn't have to."

The stallion went to help the animals as the griffin stared at the table, only to spot the opened box of doughnuts. She reaches for a piece, her eyes widen from the flavors coursing through her mouth. She smiles eating away at the yummy treats.
