Chapters What if I told you that I thought about things like death, sadness, romance, comedy, tragedy, growth, wisdom, knowledge, plot, all of it-I wanted it to happen to me. Would you think I was crazy? Or do we think this too. That's what I often think about as I stroll along below the moons rays on my walks every night. "What do others think?" Once I thought that they were all reckless, sinful people, obsessed with lust, greed and revenge. It's what I've been told to believe. "The world is a cruel place Jason." But soon, I realized everyone has a life, a personality, a history, and a conscience. But I still wonder what the ones who are insane think. Terrorists, extremists, and the mentally insane. What do they think? Sometimes I wish I could go up to them and tell them that killing people is wrong, and incapacitate them if necessary. What if my world was like that? What if it wasn't just thoughts and nonexistent scenarios? What if I was within the hardship myself, other than the man I see when I... Does it even matter? Should I just give up something I expect is there, but is just a fantasy? Or is imagining good for me? I know it won't happen, but I want it to. But it never will.
Most of these imaginations aren't even from my world, more from others. Cartoons, anime, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, I see these things and I want to be like the people here. I want my own exciting story! Where's mine! Where's the insane plot twists, or wacky weird puns and ridiculous moments. Maybe, it's just too unreal. Or maybe, I haven't taken the time to find my own moments like that. Why can't I be like that. Just a kid, who goes to school, does his work, goes home, and does nothing. That's who I am. I don't look for adventure, I let it find me. You know what? Maybe it has started. Maybe I'm not looking at what's in front of me. Maybe I'm closing my eyes, waiting for someone to tap me on the back, so I can turn around, and see him/her. Like a hitchhiker by the road. The road doesn't go anywhere, I do. I know this now, but I refuse otherwise. I have friends, I have family, and I feel lost... somehow. Blinded, by something... I don't know what it is! But it's there! I may not know what it is, but I have an idea who. Me.
My name is Jason Quartz, and I'm waiting for nothing.
I stood there on the grassy plain, feeling the chill of the wind run through my hair. I felt the long grass crawl up my bare legs in the darkness. My eyes were closed to tighten the rest of my senses. I felt calm, and safe. More than I ever have in my entire life. I heard nothing but the semi-strong winds sailing past my body. I smelled cold air.
I opened my eyes, taking in the whole scene. Just a seemingly endless grass plain that perpetually swayed in the wind. I took a deep breath through my nose. I smelled the cold freshness of the air around me, it then engulfed my whole body, making me cold. I then looked to the moon in the night sky. It looked as if it glowed brighter tonight.
But something else was wrong. Something was off. It wasn't that I was alone at night in a grassy field, I always did this. Every night I came out here to wonder about my fantasies, to dream about what didn't exist. But I felt like I was imagining some sort of aura around me. If only I knew it was actually there.
The wind instantly picked up speed. I gasped and extended my arms and legs. I was preparing for something. Something that I thought that I was imagining was there.
In this one moment, something that I expected, yet I did expect at the same time entered my reality. We grant your wish, dreamer.
Then everything went black.

Would you fall 300 feet from the sky to get to Equestria?
I could still feel the cold air brushing against my skin, only the force felt stronger. Even stronger than the voice's wind. Which led me to think: Who was that voice? It didn't sound familiar to me. I had never heard of it before. Which led to another topic: It said, "We grant your wish.". What exactly did that mean? My wish. What wish? I thought.
As I kept on pointlessly skipping around from one subject to another, I realized something: Where was I? I had now found out that I had my eyes closed and that I was sleeping. I also felt a bit peculiar. Was it that voice that had done this? But as I was lead, again, from one thought to another, I just decided to open my eyes and see what the heck was going on.
I saw clouds falling... up? This was odd. Since when do clouds fall up? I knew for a fact that being in one of Shel Silverstein's poetry books was not a wish of mine. Whatever that voice did to me, I was not liking it so far.
I stretched my eyes out to get a bit more of a clearer view of what was happening. After a few moments of brief observation (Looking down at my brown-orange hooves, looking past my hooves to the ground ect..), I found out that I was a colt, and apparently hurdling toward the ground. I was not scared at all before fully processing the outcome of the situation. In which was: I am going to die by falling 300 feet to the ground as a pony.
So, as any other average person/pony would do, I began to flail my limbs and panic. Surprisingly, I had run this scenario over my head thousands of times, so I decided that the proper thing to do was scream: "HOLY FLIPPING CELESTIA!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! I'M FALLING TO MY DEMISE!!! I'M GOING TO DIE!!!! YOLO YOLO YOLO YOLO YOLO!!!! AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!! CAPS LOCK!!!!!!", and other nonsensical nonsense.
Evidently, I was 100 feet from the ground, so the only response I got at this time was a, "Huh?", and a shrug. I had no idea how screaming and flailing in panic was supposed to help, but it kept me at a content level of sanity, and by that I mean most of my sanity was gone already.
Even throughout all this craziness, for some reason I was wondering when I was going to hit terminal velocity, but that would be a bad thing. I would most definitely not survive. Then again, I didn't have much of a chance of living falling from 300 feet flailing crazily. So either way, I was going to die.
Now I was about 60 feet from the ground, and I think some ponies below were starting to hear me. I actually was not sure if they were ponies, I was too busy panicking over my death to observe anything but the ground my body was going to be splattered on, and clouds.
Now here are my thoughts on this event: ......We are sorry, but this person you are trying to call is presently not available right now. Please leave a message after the beep. *BEEP*
I could surprisingly still notice the feeling of the wind on my flailing body as I screamed towards the ground. I couldn't think strait, so I didn't have my life flash before my eyes, all that flashed were clouds as they passed by.
10 feet.
"AAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
6 feet.
"HELP!!!!"
3 feet.
"CHEERIOS WOULD HAVE PLAYED BETTER IN THE BOWL THAN THE BRONCOS!!!!"
3 feet.
"I EAT CARPET WHEN NO ONE LOOKS!!!"
3 feet.
"I DON'T KNOW WHO M&M IS!!!!"
3 feet.
"WHY HAVEN'T I DIED YET!!! ......Oh."
I had stopped in mid-air. I was floating three feet above the ground. My mind was completely blank. Nothing formed in my mind until I
realized who was holding me with magic: None other than Twilight Sparkle herself in her beautiful glory.
I was staring strait into her eyes, and she was staring strait into mine. "Are you ok?" She asked politely, obviously because she didn't want to put me in any more shock than I already was.
My brain's gears began to turn. I could think again. I realized all that had happened, all that went on in this weird... whatever it is so far. In which was: Standing in a field, hear a voice, falling to the ground as a colt, caught by Twilight Sparkle, my fourth favorite of the Mane Six.
I took a deep breath and looked at my surroundings. It was Ponyville. I was in Ponyville. The Ponyville. The one and only honest to Celestia Ponyville. The voice had indeed granted my most desired wish. Now I started to shut down again.
"Are you ok?" Twilight asked.
I somewhat snapped out of my trance and looked at the magic mare, "I-I'm fine. C-could you please p-p-put me d-down?"
Twilight smiled and lowered me to the ground gently. "Give me a second of silence I need to gather my thoughts" I said.
As I thought a little more deep into what had happened, I took some time to notice my body. I was most definitely, a colt. Since that was all that I could think of, I just made a mental note to look in a mirror later.
I started to punch my head with my hoof and say what happened aloud, each event I listed I punched my head. I didn't know why I did, I just did. "Grassy plain, voice, fall, colt, catch, Twilight." I stopped and shuttered. "Brain dead."
Then, due to my brain shutting down, I fainted in the middle of public where everypony that I didn't notice could see.
Emptiness floated in my brain like an empty attic. All that was there was inanimate gears and spider webs, but for some reason no spiders. My mind lied absent for a long time before somehow seeing a bit of light that gave my brain energy. It was the voice.
We have brought you here with- Oops, sorry. I have brought you here with my powers to break the laws of physics. It began. I have found you wanted to be here. Yes?
I was even a disembodied voice in my brain. Perhaps my conscience. "Yes I guess so. Who are you?" I replied. I couldn't, and didn't want to figure out why I felt so energized right in this particular moment, but I was.
I am... Me.
"So I should call you Me?"
Umm... sure. Ok. Just listen.
"Ok, I will."
It's time to wake up.
"So is that all you-"
I was interrupted by the voice of Twilight Sparkle, whom's words I couldn't make out. I decided to open my eyes and see what was going on. I heard another one too. It was Spike's.
By now, me processing all of this information felt almost impossible. I even refused to look over the whole entire scenario again. All that mattered now was that I was here. Not how I got here, or where I was before here. All that matters is that I conveniently fell 300 feet from the sky down to Ponyville, and it will be awesome.
I used my front legs to push myself up so I could see the situation better. (Thought: Why do people call this species's front legs arms if they use them as legs? All Fim Fictions that I have read each say arms. I wonder if I'm in a Fim Fiction right now? Naa.) I was in Twilight's bed, in Twilight's library, right next to Twilight Sparkle and Spike themselves.
Surprisingly easily processing the situation I began some dialogue. "What's going on?" As I already knew; I knew exactly what was going on. So I just asked a rhetorical question for no apparent reason.
Twilight and Spike turned their attention to me, and Twilight walked towards me. I took in a deep breath to avoid freaking out. As I had run through my head at least one-thousand times, I need to act like a normal pony, or else things might happen that I didn't want to. For instance: Know the future, Princesses, captivated circus freak, studied on, ect.. Stuff like that. So I just decided to lay low and make everypony think that I was one of them.
"Are you ok?"
I took a deep breath again and smiled. "Yes, I'm fine."
Spike stepped up. "Are you sure? You sort of just fell 300 feet from the ground while pointlessly screaming for your life."
Twilight gave Spike a glare in which made him step back one step, and then turned back to me. "Sorry about him. Um... Can I get you anything?"
"I-I'll have glass of water."
"Ok." Twilight said. "C'mon Spike."
They both walked off into another room. This gave me some time to think. I didn't want to think. The more I thought about how I got here the more I lost my sanity. I'd rather not faint again as well.
I sat up on the bed, resting my body up on a pillow to prepare to drink some water. Twilight walked inside with a glass of water floating in the air with her magic. She walked next to the bed and sat down.
"Can you drink it by yourself, or do you need me to feed it to you?" She asked.
"I-I got it."
Twilight floated the glass in between my hooves. That was when I realized something. Hooves, not hands. This was going to be my greatest challenge yet: Drinking a glass of water with hooves.
"Eye of the Tiger" began to play in my mind as I started to struggle with the glass slipping in and out of my hooves. I tried every way possible to hold the cup, but it just kept on slipping and slipping. I tried holding it on the bottom, balancing it on my nose, and even hugging it.
"You need help with that?" Twilight asked. I was too occupied in my battle to answer.
This was indeed a hard fight, but I wasn't about to give up. Even if Twilight was going to be awkwardly staring at me the whole time.
But, as all the good guys do, I defeated my enemy and found a way to drink the water. I just juggled it until the open side entered my mouth, and I chugged it down with a little difficulty. Though I was, indeed, victorious.
I spit the empty glass of water onto the bed and looked at Twilight with a smile. "See Twilight, I got it."
"Y-yeah. Sure." Twilight said with a dumbfounded look. "Wait, how do you know my name?"
I didn't realize that I had literally said her name. I instantly looked for excuses in my brain. I did find one. "Iiiiiiii-I heard your name while I was asleep." I said with a sheepish smile.
Twilight put a hoof to her chin. "Ok. Well, apart from that. Do you mind if I ask you about the fall?"
I tried my best not to flashback to that moment. "N-no." Dang it. I thought.
"How did you get up there?"
"I-I. Umm..." I searched for more excuses. I didn't just want to tell her that I teleported up there. But perhaps that wouldn't be a bad excuse. "I got teleported up there."
"By who?" Twilight's face turned from curious to concerned.
"I don't know. It just happened."
"How do you just happen to be teleported up in the air?"
"I have no idea." I gave a suspicious giggle.
Twilight eyed me closely. "Riiiight." Twilight backed off and gave her usual expression. "Well I have to do a few errands. Are you ok staying here while I'm gone?"
I smiled. "Yup. I'm fine. What are you going to do?"
Twilight began to walk slowly toward the doorway. "I have to check on preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration."
My fantasies instantly formed in my head, putting all sorts of other scenarios that may occur because of my existence here. Sometimes, when I was human, I would dream that I was some special person called a "Dimensional Being", and my job was to create alternate realities, or breaks in the time line for a bunch of dimensions.
"Are you sure you'll be ok here alone?" Twilight continued. "Do you want me to leave Spike here with you?"
An alternate reality spawned in my mind: Twilight goes to Fluttershy, Flutters is shy, Spike doesn't catch her interest, they aren't friends, the Elements of Harmony can't be used, Nightmare Moon puts Equestria in eternal night, and bad stuff happens!
My face switched to one of joy to one of horror instantly after this thought. I waved my hooves in the air saying, "NO NO NO!!! TAKE SPIKE WITH YOU!!!"
Twilight looked back at me and raised an eyebrow. "Alright, no need to yell. Bye, um... What's your name?"
I already formed a solution. "Quartz, my name is Quartz."
"Bye Quartz."
"Bye Twilight."
I heard a few hoofsteps and a closing door. The rest of the next minute was silence.
I rested my head on a pillow, looking in the opposite direction, and began to fall asleep. I let myself slowly fall into the depths of dream land. By that, I mean Luna beating up Trollestia.
Meanwhile, a pink figure gazed upon the Treebrary, waiting for the right time to strike. Now it was here, the lavender mare she had seen earlier was leaving her home.
"Time for the pink night, to strike again."
Dun dun duuuuunnnnn...

Who's Everypony's Favorite Super Duper Party Pony?
*Crash!* I grumble and turn in bed. *BOOM!!* I open my eyes in annoyance. That was the seventh time, and I think I had enough of these sounds.
I began to roll out of bed. (Note to self: Do not roll out of bed.) I fell on the wood floor in a tangled heap of blanket. I moaned for the what felt like the first time in my life.
As a human, I was always a morning person. I always got up fully awake. The only time I slept during the day would be 12:00Am to 6:00-8:00Am, or if I was sick. I guess fainting in the middle of public was an excuse for rest.
So with a bit of struggling, I became free from the blanket lock and began to walk downstairs.
Of course with some difficulty. (Hey, hey, I made a joke. diffucolt y. Ha!) I had to figure out how to walk. Luckily I had practice walking on all fours while going up stairs.
However going down stairs had always been a problem.
After a few careful (Hey, hey, I made another joke. Mare ful. Ha!) steps, I tripped down the stairs, hurting my head a lot and landing me on my rump at the bottom of the stairs.
I heard the noises a few more times. They were starting to sound familiar. They sounded like a balloon and a chew toy choking the life out of each other.
As I reached and pulled back my senses, and walked into the library, I saw none other than Pinkie Pie herself. Her and her signature party cannon, shooting out party decorations everywhere.
As I gazed around at the decorations, Pinkie took the chance to break the laws of physics and teleport right beside me. She put a foreleg around me.
"Isn't it beautiful!" Pinkie said with a tear in her eye.
"Gah!" I said, backing away from the party pony's grasp.
She turned to the direction I backed off to. "Are you a new pony?"
"Uuuh..."
Pinkie Pie began to walk toward me while I just kept on backing away. "Of course you are! Why wouldn't you be? I mean, I know everypony in town, and by that, I mean eeeevery pony. Oh! I gotta throw a party for you! A surprise party! But another one, since there was another pony that I found, and I was throwing this party for her! By the way, why are you in this house? Are you her brother or something?"
By now I was backed off into a book shelf, and unable to move anywhere. I put a hoof to Pinkie's nose and pushed her away slightly so I could breath. "I could ask you the same question."
"What? I'm not her sister silly fi-... um... colt..."
"No, why are you here?"
"I'm making a party! A surprise party! A super duper surprise party!" Pinkie began to throw her hooves in the air. "A supercalafragilisticexpealidocious surprise-" I put a hoof to her mouth to shut her yap.
"I get it."
I let her mouth go. "Great! wanna help!"
"Sure."
"Get started on those streamers over there!"
While working on some of the party decor, I got to think on when I was in this... dimension, I guess.
Twilight was getting everything ready for the Summer Sun Celebration, and Pinkie Pie was getting ready for a party that was probably for Twilight.
That was when Pinkie somehow floated right next to me when I was on a ladder putting up steamers, and whispered, "Hey, wanna be friends?"
I stopped what I was doing and looked at Pinkie Pie, and then past her. What was she hanging on to? She was... floating.
"How are you..."
Meanwhile, at a Bronies apartment...
He was watching this episode of My Little Pony, wondering if what the off-screen part of Pinkie Pie was hanging on to.
"How does she..."
She just whispered again, "Wanna be friends?"
I just gave her a dumbfounded look and said, "...Sure sure..."
"Yaay" She whispered as she slowly floated towards the ground.
I sort of spaced out for a second before going back to work on the streamers.
A few minutes passed by, and then thirty minutes, and then an hour. So I got kind of bored. I was now working on placing confetti in very specific places. Pinkie said that if I didn't place the confetti in the right places, then it would ruin the fundamental balance of the party.
I didn't know she put so much effort into her work. I felt like I had just taken everything in my life for granted before preparing for this party. Pinkie really did care for her friends.
I looked at her. She was zooming around getting everything ready at a speed that could probably break the speed of sound.
I turned back to my work, I just had one more piece of confetti to place. Right in the middle of this circle of confetti.
I placed it, and turned to Pinkie. "I'm done!"
Pinkie moved to my location in under 0.25 seconds. "I'll be the judge of that."
She then pulled a magnifying glass out of thin air and put her eye on the magnifying glass. She just stood there, with that glass on her eye.
"Oki doki loki! Perfect!" She removed her hoof from the handle, but the glass didn't let go of her eye. "Alrighty, the guests should be arriving soon."
*KNOCK*
"I'll get it." I said.
I ran over to the door and opened it, revealing Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, and a bunch of other background ponies. Rainbow Dash was in front, Rarity was right next to her, and Applejack was in the middle of the crowd.
Holy... Flipping... Yay...
Meanwhile, Twilight and Spike were on their way back home. Of course with a certain yellow companion.
"...And that is the story of my life. Well, up until now. Wanna know about now?" Spike said, finishing up his story.
"Oh, yes." Fluttershy said.
Twilight interrupted the conversation by turning her whole body towards her. "Oh, look at that! We're home! Well, you should go home now too, it's getting pretty dark, and my little baby dragon needs his rest."
Spike turned back to the conversation. "No I don't."
Twilight completely ignored Spike and moved her body, easily knocking Spike to the ground with a thump. Twilight looked at Spike. "Awww, look at that. He's so sweepy he can't even keep his own wittle bawance." She turned to the timid pegasus and smiled sheepishly. "Well, I'm going to go inside. Byeeeee!"
Twilight went into her house with Spike in her magic and shut the door before Fluttershy could respond. "Alright we're home. ...Why is it dark?"
Spike was softly levitated down to the ground. "Maybe... I have no idea. Maybe it's a surpri-"
"SURPRISE!!!!!"
The whole entire room exploded with confetti (That took me forever to place.) and yelling that almost caused me to cover my ears. Everypony around seemingly instantly moved into party action with talking, and drinking punch.
Pinkie Pie took this opportunity to break the fourth wall while nopony was looking and teleport behind Twilight. I began to watch the two as I stepped forward to Spike.
'HEY! TWILIGHT!" Pinkie screamed, causing Twilight to nearly hit the ceiling.
I stopped watching their conversation and walked up to Spike. I smiled and said, "Heya Spike! How ya doin'."
Spike was slightly turned towards Twilight, so he turned his body, along with his attention, to me. "Did you do this?"
"Well, me and Pinkie- er," I corrected myself. "Pinkie Pie and I made the party, we got some help when the other guests arrived."
When I was on earth, my sister would always correct me when I said things like that wrong. This caused me to space out a little bit, but I soon got back on track.
"This is awesome!"
Pinkie Pie then teleported between us, causing Spike and I to fall backward. "I know right! And it's all for you and Twilight!" Pinkie Pie turned to Spike. "By the way, what are your names? We can't be friends if I don't know your names! Unless you don't have a name... Then I can give you one! How about Scaley Mc Scaley Pants! Heeehee, I like that name!" Pinkie Pie completely turned in my direction, putting her flank in Spike's face. "What's your name? I didn't get yours either? Is it- Mrph! mribr!"
I put my hoof to her mouth. "I am Quartz, and this is Spike." I gestured to Spike.
Twilight, who was still over by the door, began to come back to reality after being able to understand all of whatever Pinkie said to her, and started walking toward me. She moved over Pinkie Pie by pushing her on the cheek and faced me.
"Are you ok Quartz? You're up after you just fell three hunder-" I interrupted Twilight.
"Please don't bring me back there. I'm fine, I'm walking ok, and now we have a party to celebrate!"
"Are you sure? Do you have any symptoms?"
"Of what?"
"I don't know, anything! I just don't think you're in a condition to be partying. Which brings up the question."
Twilight turned to Pinkie, who was watching our talk while eating a cupcake. "Why the hoof are you throwing a party in, not only my temporary home, but a LIBRARY!!!" Twilight flailed her hooves in the air as she said this, causing Pinkies cupcake to hit the floor.
"Because this party is for you! And Spike." Pinkie Pie then lowered her head to the ground and ate the cupcake. Twilight put up a disgusted look. "What? It's good!
Twilight shook her head and put on a strait face. "Wait, how did you even find out where I was staying?"
Rainbow Dash instantly moved into the conversation in between the two. "Twi, you're talking to Pinkie Pie, your argument is invalid." Then she instantly wooshed into the party, leaving a rainbow trail in her wake.
Twilight turned back to Pinkie Pie. "Oooooookaaaaaayyy. Well, I'm going to go over here now." Twilight pointed towards a table with a bunch of cups and different drinks on it.
"Have fun with that!" Pinkie Pie said, walking into the mob of partying ponies.
I walked with Twilight and Spike to the table, knowing what would happen next. I tried to distract her further so she would choose the
hot sauce.
"So, Twilight, cool party right?"
She rolled her eyes and turned to me. "This is a disaster, I just wanted to go back and read a book before the Summer Sun Celebration. *Sigh*" We finally made it to the table, and Twilight was getting a drink. She did choose the hot sauce. "Wait, did you help plan this?" She took a drink of the hot sauce.
Her whole entire face instantly turned red, and steam exploded from her ears. She jumped up and sped off to somewhere.
I giggled a bit and said, "Did I hear a bell?"
The rest of the night was hardcore partying. I didn't see Twilight for the rest of the night though, but I knew she would come down eventually. She had to, we didn't want to miss Nightmare Moon, now did we?
She was all I wondered about the whole night, just being able to see her in... pony? I guess that would be the term. Also seeing the Mane Six in action with the Elements. Hopefully (Hey, hey, I made another joke, Hopefilly , ha.) she would let me come along.
Hopefilly...
(HA!!! I am hilarious!")

Yay, Summer Sun Celebration, Yay Nightmare Moon. Now, Big Question: WHERE THE BUCK IS CELESTIA!!!/A Message
1000 years ago...
Youtube Video
(Please watch-, er, listen before continuing. Not really much to look at.)
An orange-brown unicorn passed from behind a column, revealing himself to Nightmare Moon's backside. He had watched the whole painful thing. He felt something from her. It was pain, sorrow, and regret. The feeling of confusion and sadness had consumed her mind.
He stood there for a moment, going over what he was about to do, and say. The stallion looked at her staring up at her home planet, shivering, and keeping back tears.
The stallion took a step forward. Nightmare was still unaware of his presence. He opened his mouth and spoke words.
"You're in pain." He started walking forward towards the balcony that Nightmare Moon was on.
She looked back with a tear that was about to jump from the bottom of her jaw. She gave the stallion a surprised look. "Wh-who are you?".
The stallion giggled a bit. "You'll know me soon enough." He looked down at the ground to hide his face for a moment. "In one-thousand years." He looked at Nightmare again. "You'll see me once, but I won't recognize you as I do now, and then I'll see you again in quite a few years. But no more spoilers. The point is that I'm here to help."
Nightmare Moon moved her whole body towards the stallion and put on an angry face. "Help me? Help me!?" She pointed an accusing hoof at the stallion. "Thou can not help me! It is my sister who needs help!"
This didn't intimidate the stallion at all, he just kept on walking until he reached the edge of the balcony.
"Are you sad?" He asked.
Nightmare stomped both forehooves and the whole castle shook. "NO!!!"
The stallion kept a straight face and looked her deep in the eyes. "Then why are you crying?"
Nightmare lifted a hoof to her face, and felt tears falling from her eyes. She took a few steps back and sat on the ground. "I-I..."
The stallion stepped up to her and wiped the tears from her eyes with his hoof. "No one payed attention to the beauty of your moon, did they?"
Nightmare looked into the stallions eyes with her tear filled ones, it looked like her whole entire face was about to shatter with sadness. "No."
"Would you have not done this if even one loved your moon."
"No."
"I did. I always did. Every night I go out there, and see what light that it spreads. It helps me not be afraid of the dark, it guides me, and makes me feel safe."
"Y-you're kidding."
The stallion nodded in reply. "I have to go now. Goodbye Nightmare Moon. Remember, I was never a dream, and you'll find me wherever you go. I'll find you too."
"Wait! Bu-" Nightmare was cut of with the sound and flash of the stallions disappearance.
"I-I'll be," The dark mare looked down, "alone...".
She wept again.
I was always curious about mirrors. Reflections. But of vision. It doesn't tell you who you are, it tells you what you look like, but if you look at it that way, it doesn't matter what you look like, it's who you are that matters. What happens on the inside is all that matters.
There have been other things, like if a mirror is actually a portal to another dimension. I guess that could be a theory now that all of this crazy jazz has just happened in front of my eyes.
Apart from that, I now had a chance to look at what I looked like, and my new awesome shades. Let me just say: So, much, swag.
I never usually liked using that word, but it was necessary in this case. I was a beautiful chocolate brown, with a yellow-golden, pointy mane, and to top it all off, I had some amazing party glasses to go along with it all. So, much, swag. (Hate that word, but it's so perfect to describe myself with.)
To make even the "top it off" even toppier, I was a unicorn. A beautiful, and perfect unicorn. No flaws, no malfunctions. Just pure... swag.
But even apart from how awesome I looked, I haven't seen Twilight anywhere in the party. I knew where she probably went; her room. So I decided to go up there.
After avoiding a few small mobs, and pushing through the amount of thickness of the party (In which was surprisingly large.), I finally made it to the stairs up to Twilight's room. I walked up the stairs with ease (Nailed it!) and found Twilight rolling around in bed trying to cover her ears with her pillow.
I walked up the few more stairs that were left up to her bed. She didn't seem to notice me, so I just blurted, "Hey Twilight, what're you doing all alone?".
I knew exactly what she was doing alone.
She looked towards me, I was sitting at the end of the bed. "Trying to avoid all the crazy ponies down there and GET SOME SLEEP!!!!" Twilight yelled.
(Nailed it again!) I didn't flinch at all at her actions, I just stood my ground and said, "Well why are you trying to sleep? We all have to stay up for the Summer Sun Celebration. Why don't you get down there and mingle while you have the chance?"
Twilight sat up in bed. "Because I'll probably never see them again. It's not like I'll be coming back he- Wait, Quartz I just remembered I need to have a talk with you."
*Ding!* There went my imagination thinking of millions of things that she could be asking: Where I came from, what are my hobbies, if I'm a kind of homo sapien from another dimension, all of that.
And here comes me going along like I'm a normal per-, er, pony. "About what?"
"Who are your parents? I need to contact them and say that I found you."
*DING* An excuse. "I don't have parents" Sheepish smile, SHEEPISH SMILE!!! I gave her a sheepish smile.
"You don't have parents? What about an orphanage, or some sort of parental guardian?"
Yes, she didn't notice the sheepish smile. These ponies are so gullible. I shook my head. "Nope."
She eyed me closely with a death glare. Now here's me thinking, Smile, and stand still or else she will love and tolerate the SPIT, out of you. You want to stay, you want to stay, please let me stay!
Twilight instantly popped up with a smile after about forty-five seconds and smiled, "Okay! Want to stay here until I find your... well... owner?"
I wagged my tail and barked playfully. (Oh, my gosh, I CAN WAG, MY , TAIL!!!!)
"Great. Glad we've gotten that established."
(...Nailed it again!)
That was when Spike popped through the door and said, "Hey guys, it's time to go to the celebration. Let's go!"
All the way there, I'm gonna see Nightmare Moon tonight, YAY!!!!!!
o)O(o<
Seeing the two doors open to the Town Hall, felt like having two giant doors being opened for you as a red carpet is being rolled out, it's amazing! But no, that isn't even the best of it, I get to see Nightmare Moon in person! Or pony, I don't know how that works, but it does, and I am flipping happy because of it.
Now we're walking through the thick crowd of colorful pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies, and as I've mentioned, I feel pretty good, and I mean, really good. I feel as if I could blow up the world and walk on the sunshine! But I kind of like this place, so I won't blow it up, and walking on the sun would kind of hurt, so I wouldn't really consider doing that.
We took a seat near the front of the crowd. I sat to the right of Twilight, and Spike on the other side.
I took some time to look at my surroundings, and saw curtains, and ponies, and birds on a perch, and Fluttershy, and more ponies, and a dragon, and wood, and Mayor Mare, and Derpy, and even more ponies. That's just a fact here, there are ponies.
I was just observing a chair when Twilight leaned over to me and said, "Umm, Quartz, I forgot to tell you that I'm going back to Canterlot in the morning, so you can't exactly stay with me while I'm here. Perhaps you might want to stay at the Library while I'm in Canterlot, or perhaps I could get you into an orphanage.
I turned my head slightly towards her, but not completely, and said, "No thanks, you won't need to." I shifted my head forward towards the stage.
Twilight raised an eyebrow, but she quickly pulled her attention to the stage again.
After about two minutes of waiting, the show finally started. The chatter instantly died, and Mayor Mare begun with a few opening words, in which translated into, "Now presenting, Nightmare Night instead of the Summer Sun Celebration!". Then the birds began to chirp, and the curtains began to unfold to reveal, (Big surprise.) nothing!!!!
The whole room gasped for air for some reason. Though I just went, *squee*, and giggled in delight. Then, (As expected.) a dark smoke twisted and turned throughout the room, until it landed on the stage where Celestia was supposed to be, and then formed itself into, NIGHTMARE MOON!!!!
DUN, DUN, DUN!!!!!!
The whole room gasped once again, and started to tremble in fear. I heard Rainbow Dash from across the room saying, "Hey! What did you do with the Princess!"
My thoughts...
In the little fillies room...
*BOOM* *gasp* *grunt* *BOOOOOM!!!!*
"A-are you ok in there your majesty?"
"Yes I am, *BOOM*, fine. Just got some, *grunt*, royal duties to take care of."
"I hope you don't mind me saying, but I think the Celebration has started."
"I'm pretty sure they can have me not there for about fiftee-*BOOM*... thirty minutes."
Nightmare Moon put a hoof to her chest and stared down at Rainbow Dash, "Oh, you mean your goddess of the sun and moon? Like you would even notice the moon anyway, she is probably just known for the sun. But look at this, she just abandoned all of you and left this empty stage for me to land on."
*BOOM* "*huff*...that one hurt... Shouldn't have held it in all day."
Nightmare Moon giggled slightly, "Oh well, now that I'm back there will now be eternal night, FOREVER!!!!". She laughed maniacally and reared in place while doing so.
She set her hooves on the ground and looked around the room. "You'll have to get used to the view of the stars and moon from now on, unless you already have. Who does like the moon here, who appreciates it?"
This is a bit out of script. I thought.
"What? No pony?" She scanned the room again, and saw one hoof up.
It was mine.
I didn't even realize I did it when I did, but I did, and now here was Nightmare Moon staring at me wide eyed, and surprised.
That answer was also the absolute truth. Every night, when I went in the dark, I didn't see it as dark, I only looked at the light that was still there, and the last lights were the moon and the stars. I loved them, they made me feel safe. I couldn't resist when she asked me that question, I had to answer.
Nightmare Moon stepped forward, still wearing that surprised look. "You..."
Twilight immediately slammed my hoof down with hers and stepped forward in front of the crowd. She then yelled out Nightmare Moon's name to grab her attention. The only attention she got was from the audience, because only the audience didn't know who Nightmare Moon was. (That's it, too long of a name, I'm calling her N.M., work for you? Great.)
"You need to stop this N.M.!" Twilight yelled, "You can't go on like this! It's wrong!"
N.M. completely ignored her and went into her gas form, only instead of heading out of Town Hall, she headed towards me.
I immediately sprang backwards and began to run saying, "HOLY BUCKSHOTS!!!!!"
But soon her shadow caught me, and everything went black.
