In the castle where the two princesses lived, is where we find Solar Flare and Nightmare Moon sitting down.

“Sister, is something bothering you?” asked Nightmare with a gentle tone.

Solar Flare looked down before turning to her sister. “I believe something has happened to Spike. During our visit to the hospital, I felt something. As though something went into my mind. I will need time to completely understand it, but I heard something. A voice that said that we would be in for a surprise." replied Solar Flare who could tell the voice sounded familiar.

"Wait, this happened during our visit? Shouldn't we see Spike and see if anything is wrong?" asked Nightmare worried for her nephew.

Solar Flare shook her head and turned to look out the window. "No, I do not think Spike is in trouble. I merely think that something is about to happen that will change our world." replied Solar Flare.

"I doubt anything could change it anymore than it already has." muttered Nightmare Moon with a downcast look.

Solar Flare walked over to her sister and gave her a hug with her wing as she knew what she was talking about. The day where everything had changed for their home.

(Flashback)

The two beings that would later become Princess Solar Flare and Nightmare Moon were currently hovering over the battered form of Discord. These two of course went by two different names. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

"It's over, Discord. Time to put you where you can no longer hurt anypony else." declared Celestia readying the elements.

"I don't think so, princess." replied discord who held up his eagle claw and held an orb of pure darkness that gave off random sparks. "Time to say goodbye to the sunlight." Discord threw the orb straight towards the air and it seemed to collapse on itself and formed into a dark hole that seemed to create a strong wind that made both princesses brace themselves as they saw something that would haunt them for the rest of their lives.

The sun appeared to move to the center of the sky as the moon seemed to come closer as well. All three watched as the moon covered the sun in an eclipse.

Both princesses were stunned and didn't Discord sneak off to fight for another day.

Celestia and Luna tried to bring the sun and moon back to their original position, but were shocked to see their magic not working.

Before they could try a different spell, a shadow soon covered both of them that surprised them. Celestia saw the shadow itself crawl up to her leg and saw the same thing happening to Luna. They tried to blast it or fly away, but all methods failed and they were soon completely covered.

(Flashback end)

It wasn't long after they had been consumed by the shadow that they had been released, only to find out that they had been corrupted by Discord's magic and had become completely different. They still retained their memories and personalities, but their appearance had been permanent. They had tried to fix everything, but it seemed the spell was permanent. They were not only stuck in their new forms, but the eclipse over Equestria had been irreversible and caused all sorts of different effects.

One was new citizens living in the small towns. The abnormal thing? They were from the Everfree Forest. The skies were always grey that it looked like rain everyday. No matter what they did, everything stayed the same. It also didn't help that Discord had later taken six fillies to train under him. Only to return as his own personal deadly team.

Solar Flare and Nightmare Moon gazed out the window and decided that they should see Spike to make sure he's alright. With their magic combined, they both teleported out of the castle and towards the hospital.

(Hospital)

Spike was currently reading one of the books the hospital had at their disposal and heard a knock at his door. He looked over and saw Nurse Redheart standing there.

"Excuse me, Prince Spike, but there is a gift waiting for you out here." replied the nurse.

"Bring it in." repelled Spike who wasn't use to being called prince, but decided to roll with it seeing as how everyone addressed him as such. The nurse mare kept the door opened and ended up pushing in a giant pie. Spike didn't know what to say as the nurse left and was stuck looking at the giant pie.

Before he could get up to get to it, it began to move around at the top. He grew confuse until the top burst open and he found himself with cherry and crust on his body. He looked at the pie to see Sunset and the others there.

"Surprise!" yelled the girls as they pulled themselves out of the pie and began to wipe the cherry off them.

"Why did you just jump out of that pie?" asked Spike wiping his scales clean.

"Well, I thought you could use some of my delicious cherry pie instead of the hospital food." replied Cherry handing him a napkin to clean with.

"And you chose to jump out because?"

"To make a spectacular entrance!" replied Trixie throwing her head back with her hoof raised up.

Spike shook his head with a smile and did enjoy their efforts.

"So Spike, how ya holding up?" asked Lightning.

"Been feeling a little better." replied Spike.

"That's good to hear." replied Sunset with a smile.

Spike noticed they all seemed to stare at him longer than he thought and coughed a little to snap them out of it.

"Oh no! Are you getting a cold?" asked Cherry rushing to his side and checking his head.

"Calm down Cherry. The squirt will be fine." reassured Gilda.

"Calling your prince squirt?" joked Spike.

"Yep." replied Gilda before they all chuckled at the moment.

Their little moment however came to a pause as Solar Flare and Nightmare Moon came walking in, causing all of them, minus Spike to bow.

"Hello Spike. How are you feeling?" asked Solar Flare in a caring voice.

"Pretty good." replied Spike with a smile.

"That's good. Sunset, do you think you and the others could give me and Spike some alone time?"

Sunset and the others didn't know why, but decided to agree and walked out, leaving Spike alone with his mom and aunt.

"So, what is it?" asked Spike.

"Me and your aunt came here to not just make sure you were alright, but to see something." replied Solar Flare.

"What is it?"

"I'm going to go into your conscious mind and see if anything is wrong."

"Is that safe?"

"Don't worry. I wouldn't do it unless you would be safe." reassured Solar Flare patting him on the head.

"Well, alright."

"Good." Solar Flare closed her eyes as her horn lit up with a red aura and she seemed to transform into a fog-like material and seemed to seep right into Spike's ear.

"While Solar is away, the sister will play." chuckled Nightmare Moon cuddling up to Spike who had fallen asleep as soon as Solar Flare made her way into his head.

(Spike's mindscape)

Solar's form appeared in the vast whiteness that Spike was before. She took a look around before seeing something a few feet from her. It seemed to notice her as it brought its head and had a grin filled with teeth directed at her.

"Well, this is a surprise." replied the figure.

"Who are you?"

"Don't you recognize your only son?" the dark figure soon began to shrink til he was Spike's size and color began to appear on his body as he stepped forward and revealed his true form. He bore an exact resemblance to Spike, except for a few differences. Such as his slitted pupils, and wore armor that was similar to hers and Nightmares. His spines were also more sharp and slicked back.

"Sp-Spike?" replied Solar with shock.

"I know, it's shocking. Let me tell you what happened."

Solar Flare sat down on her legs to listen.

"It turns out that the Spike you know in the physical world is actually from a different dimension. I know because when he passed the border into his world, he ended up fusing with me. Well, almost. If we had truly become one, I wouldn't be here. I know he's from a different world as he's like me, but completely different."

"So, he's an imposter?"

"No. If anything, he is still your son. His transformation is because of me. After blacking out, I brought him here to warn him that me and him would fight in the future. The winner will become the leader of this body."

"But, what happens to the loser?" asked Solar who was scared to know.

"They vanish from existence. It's the only way as there cannot be two Spike's in one universe. The results would be disastrous."

"But, what should I do then?" asked Solar.

"Simple. Return and don't treat that Spike any different than me. Yes he's different, but I can tell he has a good heart. So don't be angry that he came to this universe, he didn't know what would happen." replied Spike.

"I will do that. I will treat him just like I would treat you." replied Solar giving her first Spike a hug before beginning to fade out.

"And don't worry, I'll give him some of my training so the fight is even." called Spike as Solar nodded and faded away. This universe's Spike sat down and began to meditate as he knew the fight ahead would decide things.

(Ponyville at the time)

Twilight looked from book to book as she and her friends couldn't find the book they needed.

"This is hopeless!" cried Twilight falling to the floor. "We'll never find the book!"

"Found it!" yelled Pinkie dropping the book in front of Twilight.

"Where did you find it?" asked Twilight.

"I found it under the dimensional portal section." smiled Pinkie.

"I'm not even gonna comment on that." replied Twilight flipping through the book. She smiled as she found the gem and the spell to find Spike. She closed it and began to concentrate her magic. Considering this was a dimensional portal, she would need to concentrate a lot. Soon, a portal popped up and got cheers from all the girls.

"Come on girls, it's time to save Spike." replied Twilight as she lead the run into the portal with the others following.
